A bit grotty in places so all you are getting is the standard Spoons, experience. Tends to go big on the meals so you can’t watch the football which often has no sound. Spoons is Spoons so it is more about the individual pub. Thus has good space a pleasant crowd and good service but little atmosphere outside of that. Toilets upstairs, two flights.

Need more alcohol in pitchers, place is a bit sticky, but as usual the ladies bathroom is incredible, although men's is the worst I've seen in a spoons before. Even still, good place, lively price, but be aware, usually full of alcohol smelling chubby 40 year old men. Outside of this though, nice place, good stuffs

Went in for a quick simple all day brunch, it was served promptly and politely, the eggs were cooked to perfection (sunny side up), bacon was spot on, sausages as good as always, the chips and beans weon the side I neither me or my farther who was with me complimented the chef (hope they received our thanks) but this review otherwise shows our thanks, would recommend and will visit again.

Typical Wetherspoons could be anywhere, Jail Ale was good, ham egg and chips cheap n cheerful. Toilets clean, quick service. Usual mixture of families, drunks, chavs and everyone else. The pub nearby called the Fortiscue so much better.

Positives = Friendly staff good choice of beer and good prices. Usually can get a table even at busy times. Easy to order at bar or on app. Food is fine if your just out with friends and want a quick meal.Good location. Lots of useful nearby shops. Negatives = no parking at site. But there is a local council car park less than 5 mins walk that’s free for 3hours.

Despite the loud customers at the next table ( 6pm ish) this pub is always a lovely spot for food. I ate the manager's special sourdough burger which was 6oz. of perfectly cooked juicy pure beef and a decent salad in a bun for £2.99. I ordered a 99p side of coleslaw to perfect it. Absolutely top notch restaurant quality food. My friend always has the ham egg and chips but with peas instead of ham. So, egg chips and peas :-) . The bottomless all day coffee is great value and the staff are always very kind. Go on curry night with your partner if you have one; can't go wrong. They'll think you've pushed the boat out, if you can get a quiet corner or garden seat. There's even a little park nearby for a romantic stroll afterwards. It's a tiny park, so don't bank on burning any calories. Last time we ate here as a family my little boy said his stomach was going to explode, but apart from that he'd enjoyed it. But his children's fish 🐟 was the size of his forearm so that was probably why. It was perfectly battered and cooked fish. Fully recommended for any occasion, if you can get a table. Free limited parking nearby in Barracks carpark or there's a pay and display.

It's a spoons, you get what you pay for. I've always had fun here. There's a staff member with an incredible beard. He is amazing! The drinks aren't AMAZING but, it's a spoons. I'd recommend it for a cheap night pre payday!

Had my grandson funeral wake. Did not book tables about 45 famliy members just walked in and was meet with open arms. Most of the family had food which did not disappoint. So ty the mannamead I am happy to go back to any time. Ty

Good service and reasonably priced. First time back at this pub since before Covid. Menu slightly smaller (no lamb shank for example) and the fish and chips had shrunk. Nice meal before going out later

Staff always friendly and helpful. Food always good quality especially for what you pay and drinks always a bargain compared to other pubs. Spoons ain't always perfect but the Mannamead is always clean and a great place to spend an evening or grab some breakfast or lunch. Can get busy especially on the weekend frequented by students alot.

Came today and ordered rare steak, came twice not rare but after talking to staff, realised that the size of the steak and the pub guidelines made it very difficult to cook a rare steak. Even though it wasn't their fault, staff were beyond helpful and apologetic. Knocked a lot off the bill and were super friendly with us despite us sending food back. Service was incredible. Cannot rate this pub high enough. Amazing staff member with dark hair and glasses, she deserves a promotion! Only sad we didn't have much cash on us to tip! Best wetherspoons you will ever visit

Whilst this is my go-to spoons it can unfortunately be a little inconsistent. Most of the time the food and service is exactly what you'd expect but there have been a few times where the food has been cold or missing items

Generally a fine choice of Real ale available, kept in good condition. A 2016 Good Beer Guide entry, and well deserved to be in there. My experiences are the breakfasts are good and some really lovely staff. The girls and boys here work very hard. Always enjoy my visits here.

Good place with welcoming staff. Little restricted for disable wheelchair access. You can get in there but very tight for manoeuvring. Not sure if there was a disabled toilet, as on this occassion we had no need to use one. Food was okay had burgers and chips and s couple of kids meals.

This is a spoons so it’s cheap booze and food and sometimes the food is hot and ok and sometimes it isn’t but hey it’s a spoons and it’s cheap and you get unlimited hot drinks at breakfast. It does get pretty full at peak times. Think school refectory and your about there. There are better spoons around, there are worse ones. It’s also going to be difficult to park here at peak times and difficult to get to in rush hour. Known locally as the Jannermead.

Managers quite funny when it's a special holiday and likes to dress up, he hasn't really got the legs for the maids outfit though :) and just incase you want a proper review; staff are friendly, rarely a wait at the bar and plenty of tables around, although it does get quiet busy at times
