* Staff were friendly and adapted a meat dish to vegetarian for me, so I appreciated that. They looked after my uncles birthday cake until needed. * Only staff downside were, sometimes we had to go get them. * Cola was unfortunately not very fizzy and tasted like the old Panda Pops you get (80s reference). * Food on the whole was nice and the portion sizes were nice. I did feel that a few things were slightly over priced. * After talking to my family, we feel that 4/5 of us would return.

Had a fantastic experience with the chef especially. Due to my wife’s intolerances, she can’t have a lot of foods- but he went above and beyond to ensure she still had a lovely meal. Have never had such personal service anywhere else. Can’t recommend enough.

Hen Party Afternoon Tea. We originally booked for 10 but had a last min add on, unfortunately they couldn't accommodate an afternoon tea for them which was a shame. So they ate from the menu. The Treasury asked for a deposit before we booked and we paid the reaming on the day, depending on which afternoon tea we picked. Every afternoon tea came with unlimited tea or coffee, which was a nice touch. The staff were very helpful and attentive and kept popping back to see if we were alright or needed more tea or coffee. There were 3 vey little sandwiches, not even half a sandwich each which we didn't get to pick beforehand, apart from dietary needs. Three little cakes and a single scone. I don't know if i'd say it was worth it for the price but it was all very tasty.

Great atmosphere here. Staff are always pleasant and knowledgable of the great selection of drinks. Food was fantastic, left feeling full but not stuffed. Enjoyed a non-alcoholic cocktail - perfect for a hot day. Nice seating outside too, although mostly in shade there are heaters to take the edge off.

Afternoon tea for 2 adults plus 1 x 10 month old grandson. He is too young to write a review but if he did then his report would be outstanding. He sampled everything and passed his intensive scrutiny with flying colours (as it did ours!!). Lovely freshly cooked fish and chips. The staff apologised that gluten free wasn't available. Quirky decor; look for the octopus statue cuddling a wine bottle. A comfy velvet sofa and we appreciated that they cleaned the table in front of us. The fresh tartare sauce was superb and the petits pois were very fresh and lightly cooked to perfection. Our preferred tap water came in a chilled carafe with lemon slices; nothing was too much trouble. A great lunch for under £30 for two. Laid back and pleasant atmosphere without feeling too staid. Our assistance dog was welcomed and allowed to sit quietly without fuss.

I booked a table for two online, however my friend's train to Plymouth was running particularly late. I phoned ahead to ask to push the table back by an hour, but was told the restaurant was fully booked and this would not be possible. I was told that I could still have the table up until 3pm, as tables could only be reserved for a maximum of two hours. When we arrived at 1.30, the waitress booked us in and informed us that she needed the table at 17.30 and asked if this would be an issue. Which it wouldn't. There was a wedding reception upstairs, and we were informed that the kitchen wouldn't be able to take any orders for fifteen minutes, and the waiter that told us this was more than apologetic and was back to us to take our order before the fifteen minutes was up. My friend had the Burger Sliders and I had the Fish and Chips. Both meals came out hot, and arrived very quickly. Very tasty, well presented and the wait staff couldn't have been more helpful. Had it not been for the negative impression from the person answering the phone, this would have been a 5* experience. The meal was great, the atmosphere was lively but not too loud, and the room had an eclectic decor. As I say, the only thing that let the experience down was the phone call. 100% would recommend. Despite there being only three tables occupied the service here was very slow and it seemed like some of the staff were stood around doing nothing. All I wanted was a cup of tea and a slice of cake. They did not have any breakfast tea here all they had was Chai Earl Grey and three other flavoured teas no basic cup of tea. On a plus side the cake was very nice, but I will not be rushing.

It's all a bit dated now. Used to be cool but it needs a makeover. Get rid of those huge leather settees and change it round. I would never eat here and the drinks, as always, are expensive. Sadly, its still one of the better bars in Plymouth though....

Very impressed with the venue, it's an interesting atmosphere with a totally different idea to every other place in the city I love the way they have kept it's guildhall features of the past mixed with a new look. It's also a great eat with a fantastic menu and good food and nice coffee, very busy to get there early for lunch if you can as I suspect it's like that all the time and as a result the staff can be fairly ignorant but I don't let that detract from the amazing place that it truly is.

Wonderful place for celebrations, treats, farewells and reunions (especially accompanied by a bottle of their lovely prosseco!) One lucky occasion we caught burns night! Definitely worth booking well in advance!!! Around Christmas there is a magnificent Christmas tree and the function room upstairs hosts the university big band.

Delightful Venue with a touch of class. Me and my mum had brunch here yesterday and it was absolutely delicious. I had the scrambled egg and with salmon and the scrambled egg was one of the finest I've eaten. Luxury tea bags too! Had a little look at the menu for future. Most bottles of wine for £20 and under. Prosecco at £25, Champs at £60, the tapas menu looked great too. 3 for £12 i think. Totally cost effective place for fabulous dining at good value.

Just heard from Ben the owner...The Treasury new hours are Wednesday - Sunday 12 noon to Midnight Closed Monday and Tuesday Nice. very popular meeting place during the day with excellent service and a well thought out menu. Comfortable with an air of quality and style. There is a very attractive function room upstairs.

Normally love popping in here for a drink when we're in town,but at the moment the beer is off. Last weekend we ordered Red Stripe but had to exchange for San Miguel due to a very coppery taste. This weekend we had to do the same but the Sam Miguel was just as bad. Need to sort your line cleaning out!

Lovely food, tastes good, great ambiance, such a shame the ladies toilets let the place down, they could do with a revamp & please would someone find out what the dreadful smell is in the corridor near the toilets, it smells like there is a problem with the drains, such a shame. We were a party of 4 & had used the loos at separate times & each of us came back & said it really let the place down . Sadly don’t think we will return.

I visited The Treasury yesterday for a networking event with SouthWest TogUp. The venue was really impressive and the staff were very polite and immaculately presented. I expected the food to be quite expensive to fit in with the expensive feel of the place but the food was actually very reasonably priced. The customer service was excellent with all three of the staff members I communicated with. I was very impressed overall and would definitely go there again. Most likely to the next networking event!

Great venue for a large business meeting. It was a little noisy when people were speaking so couldn't quite hear everything that was said. Great food and drink, I had a fantastic vegetarian breakfast with houmous, haloumi with potato and avocado & scambled eggs. Friendly staff as well. 4/5 for the noise. I had booked afternoon tea on Saturday 19th April 2 months previously. I went in the Tuesday before to confirm booking and there was no booking at all. (this also happened to my daughter on a previous occasion!) Luckily the waitress was still able to book us in as 3 of the guests were travelling some distance. On arrival,we were shown to our table which had been laid beautifully. I felt hurried to start tea immediately even though it was obvious half the guests hadn't arrived. When the tea arrived I was very disappointed: The tea itself was tasteless and there was so little food (2 small cake stands for 8 people) For example, 1/2 a dry scone each, small dry piece of cake and what equated to 1 piece of bread for a sandwich. A chocolate was also added for each person. I decided not to make a fuss at the time so as not too embarrass the other guests. Considering the cost of the afternoon tea, I felt very let down as I had seen people take afternoon tea here before and the food was plentiful. On talking to the other guests later they had also felt the tea was inadequate. We had 2 staff members serving us were very pleasant (When we saw them) Overall, disappointing.

Really good Food, i got the burger and the special chorizo, really tasty Food, and after i got the brownie the cheesecake, the sorbet icecream, and the marengs Berry dessert, all really brillant, don't expect the brownie to be a brownie, it's more of a chockolate cake. The sorbet/ice cream is lemon, salt caramel, and vanilla. Go eat here, you wont regret it, best eating place in Plymouth by far. Good prices 10-15 for meals, 6 for sides and the same for starters. Good prices, good service, wonderfull taste.

The Treasury is a great find in a Plymouth teaming with chain restaurants and substandard eateries. The building is an amazing piece of historical Plymouth architecture and the high ceilings and arched windows offer an internal experience rivalled by few in Plymouth. I have eaten there in a number of occasions. The food has always been excellent - think gastro pub style without the prices. IF you think the food is expensive for what you get - go to weatherspoons! The staff are always immaculately presented and very friendly, helpful and professional. A well stocked bar and cocktail menu enhances the experience further and generally provides a great value, high quality place to go in Plymouth for lunch, afternoon tea, dinner or evening drinks. They also have a function room with the same stunning architecture which makes for a stunning venue for up to around 120 people! Highly recommended!

9/9/17 What a great place lovely atmosphere and excellent service, food was excellent will definately recommend to family and friends. The staff were amazing especially considering the hen party that was in at the same time, what a rude bunch of people I don't no how the staff managed to remain calm had it been myself I would have asked them to leave and not return.

Looking for afternoon tea as provided in days gone bye, then this is the place to go. AND instead of tea you an opt for a cocktail. On the other hand, if it's lunch or evening meal you're looking for, again, this is the place to go. Friendly, helpful staff, good variety of food on the menu and nicely cooked and presented. Parking can sometimes be tricky but most times it's ok. On street parking or car park which has to be paid for.

We hired the upstairs function lounge for a few hours to throw a surpise birthday party, from start to finish the service was faultless. Email enquiries were quickly replied to by the incredibly helpful Function Manager who also recommended some local entertainment to add a little extra to the event. The lounge is lift accessible, or up two flights of stairs and really makes the most of the building's original design and decoration without making the contemporary bar area feel out of place. There is plenty of seating (either sofas or dining chairs) available and a coat rail is in the corner to save everyone worrying about their outer wear. I'd like to point out a couple of interesting features, firstly was the very retro games arcade table that appeared to be plugged in and working (alas we were too busy with the party to give it a test) and the other being one of the coffee tables also housed a small fish tank, which certainly had us talking! The room was laid out for us upon arrival, and the function manager was more than happy to lend a hand in putting up a few balloons and showering the place in table confetti before the rest of the guests arrived and checking what music we'd like played out during the time we were there. The afternoon tea was one of the better ones I have had, with 4 halves of sandwiches (ham and mustard, smoked salmon and cream cheese, egg mayo with spring onion and cheese with cucumber), a giangantic scone with cream & jam (though the debate raged amongst the party as to the correct order of application) and 3 different cakes (lemon and white chocolate, a slice of some sort of raspberry crumble cake, a slice of chocolate brownie and a mixed chocolate baton). Tea and filter coffee were replenished several times for us (though the tea pot did not like pouring its contents only into the intended cup, as the tea ran down the edge and onto the floor!), and the bar was well stocked with spirits, bottles and on-tap drinks. All in all, a brilliant time was had by everyone in the group and this was only added to by the helpfullness of the staff, the great food and the wonderful atmosphere.
