Lovely food and interesting tasty menu. Arnold Bennett omelette nicely cooked. It was full house tonight so the wait was understandably a bit long (45min between order and starter). Friendly and hard working staff. Nice evening.

Excellent food in a nice informal atmosphere. This was the best meal I've had so far this year. Charcuterie with mustard ice cream to start, followed by omelette Arnold Bennett with pesto and leaves. The wine list is extensive, and there's a good selection of beers and ciders. Although it's a little bit more expensive than average pub fayre, it is nonetheless great value for money. Highly recommended.

Loved this place. Very traditional looking pub/restaurant with a good variety of drinks and very friendly staff. Having not ordered a starter and gone straight for the main, we were pleasantly surprised when presented with an Amuse-bouches prior to our main. Absolutely delicious food! And can't wait to come back here. The establishment is situated in a cute little town called Dulverton! There is also a nice Thai place around the corner and many shops to choose from nearby including a vintage second hand music store.

Best restaurant we visited in our 10 days in England! We were nervous that we wouldn't be able to get in, because we didn't book online, but seeing it was a weekday lunch we were super lucky. Parking is a bit of a nightmare, but it appears you can park anywhere downtown and quickly get to the restaurant. The food is off the charts!! This is five star dining in the cutest oldest pub ever. They've won Best pub in England, 10 years in a row, or something. Go here. Just do it!!

Excellent bar restaurant in Dulverton. We had lunch. Delicious dishes with lovely atmosphere. Quite busy, you need to book a couple of weeks in advance if you fancy dinner! I can't recommend it enough!

not a bad place. food is okay but the 'walk in' menu not great, no vegan or lactose free options. a few vegetarian options. in fact the whole town is the same. don't ask for a plain salad youll get a bowl of co-op bagged leaves. hunting lodge feel. barking dogs come free.

We had a lovely meal at Woods staff were ever so friendly and attentive. I had mackerel fillets to start which were delicious. I followed this with more fish the gurnard and this was amazing and so wonderfully presented and cooked. I didn't manage a pudding but my partner did and she had a chocolate fondant that looked and apparently tasted amazing I didn't get a look in lol !!! We thought it was excellent value and would definitely go again.

Really great place. We took four quiet dogs and ate inside with them sat next to us. The food was exceptionally good at a reasonable price for what it was. I am now addicted to honey mustard ice cream. Honestly the best restaurant experience ever for us.

What a fabulous bar and restaurant. Service lovely, food great but it’s the wine choice that is truly incredible. I wish I had counted but at least 40 wines by the glass including high end wines. They also have bin ends which you can only buy the bottle. All incredibly reasonably priced.The locals of Dulverton are very lucky to have such a fantastic establishment.

What a brilliant experience. Such lovely attentive staff and a real cosy pub with a good atmosphere. Food was superb, well presented and tasted amazing. Duck Liver Parfait for starter, Lamb (liver, shoulder & cutlets) for a main course followed by Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert. Would 100% return.

This is a hidden jewel in Dulverton! The food and wine are just superb - rivals mainstream "upmarket" establishments with ease. It is always busy so you need to book well in advance (4 to 6 weeks). Highly recommended!

As someone who was born and raised in Dulverton but has now lived in London for 7 1/2 years. I can honestly say the food here is on par with the Michelin rated restaurants you get in the city. The flavours will blow you away, along with the presentation. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The wine list is also exceptional. One of the reasons I went. Overall. It did not disappoint and I will be returning.

I visited Woods Bar following on from a recommendation and was pre-warned about the fantastic wine list. Well, the food, the service and most importantly the wines did not disappoint - the vast majority of the list is available by the glass so you can try a couple of "grosse quilles" without having to fork out the price of the full bottle. No extra to pay either so you can get the bottle if you like it. Although I hadn't booked a table, I was lucky enough to be seated on a Friday night at 8pm following on from a cancellation. Excellent food, great staff. Worth the detour if you happen to be in this part of the country, but remember to book to avoid disappointment.

Well what can I say about the Woods Bar and Restaurant. Lovely atmosphere in the evening the staff were very attentive and with a smile. Menu was varied and different. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was lush home cooked. With wine for the two of us three courses was just of £80 :00. Very enjoyable evening ten out ten. Fabulous place, excellent service and superb food. Its our second visit in 2 months with our lovely friends and our dogs. Turned up on the off chance there would be a table, whilst we camped, but sadly not. They were extremely busy. We were disappointed, but the lovely waitress (who'd just lost her Labrador - we had ours with us) found us a spot in the courtyard. Came and took our drinks order, and then food order, and we were attended to like royalty. Another waitress brought our food out, and she was so polite, bending over backwards in her assistance with condiments (she brought out the biggest jar of Tabasco!). Food was lovely, we had ham, egg and chips, which included a pile of ham: literally. Homemade chips were good too. We only stayed an hour but it was memorable. Thank you guys, it was all wonderful!

Need to give this place 10/10 everything about this restaurant is brilliant! We were there about 8 years ago and loved it then! So obviously we had to go back and check it out ( we were not disappointed) if anything its just got better!!It's owned and run by the same gentleman who had it when we were there before! Restaurant looked rather run down to be honest in need of some paint, new carpet and curtains but what the heck who cares? Staff are lovely, menu is never the same two times running! Fantastic really different meals and recipes, everything cooked to perfection, lovely presentation! Fantastic wine menu all very reasonable! Love it, love it, love it!!!

A very friendly and superb restaurant, the food choices are staggeringly good and the wine list is exceptionally extensive. The owner and host "Paddy" is very personable and his knowledge and choice of wines and spirts is again exceptional. The venue is quaint and snug, it is very popular so you do need to book in advance, oh and dogs are very welcome.

Relaxed and rural ambience with very friendly staff. We had dinner here on two occasions and the food is superb. The owner is a wine connaisseur and they stock a wide and well-chosen selection of wines to go with the menu. Also recommended if you just want to grab a pint.

Special concert menu for the nearby Two Moors festival concert - limited but interesting menu, and special effort to get all the concert goers out in time - well done! Food and drink very pleasant, if a teensy bit miserly on vegetables in the venison bourguignon. Sticky toffee pie with nuts is a great extra to an old standard. Staff did a good job, I enjoyed it.

Friendly, warm, comfortable and very good food and wine. A two course meal without wine is around £22 - 24. There is a vegetarian option, though whether there is a vegan one I don't know. Wine costs from £18 to £800, I don't drink but my wife and son enjoyed a good red at £24.00. There are two open fires, one in the bar and the other in the restaurant that on a wet, rainy Exmoor day were most welcome....but of course, Exmoor in any season is beautiful. BBC Spotlight Soth West left viewers with the idea that the business provides B&B...but they do not, as the landlord/owner explained to me. Pity.

What can I say. This place is ace. We have been here for an awesome sunday roast twice, and unlike most places the chef here tries to make the vegetable as interesting as the meat. In fact I look forward to the vegetable more than the meat! Couple with this a relaxed informal atmosphere, a few quirks, and local ales and you are onto a winner. Go now. Do not delay! Woods is famous for its standard of food, some of which comes from the owners farm to guarantee top quality. Woods also has won wine pub of the year countless times along with other awards. Despite hosting royalty it still retains a warm welcome for locals and holiday makers and their dogs.
