Visited for the first time yesterday, adequate parking space, lovely outdoor area which is dog friendly. Service was poor and somewhat slow. Visiting for the first time, it's not clear that you need to get a table yourself and go to the reception to place an order. This is the reason for a 4-star otherwise food was great, tasty and comes at an affordable price. I particularly enjoyed the home made Nachos, different from the usual as well as the beef chili and rich peppercorn sauce. Will be visiting again in the future.

Decent chain pub. We popped in while doing the guild Wheel. Decent selection of ale, sensible food selection. Sensible prices. The staff was kind and friendly. Serves the usual chain pub food and the usual chain pub rates. Recommended. If I was being fussy, could do with better bike racks than the mini wheel benders they have. But that's me being fussy.

Food and service was superb. It was quite busy and we saw a few Deliveroo/Justeat drivers going in and out so expected to be waiting a while. We found a table, used the app to order and pay, service was quick, the food fantastic and the general atmosphere great.

This place was quite disappointing 😞 We ordered nachos to start, these were decent, a good start then it went down hill, drinks were flat so had to be taken back. Lentil soup ordered.came out with basically 2 spoonfuls in the bowl, they said it was all that they had left wich is really bad because you would never give a customer 2 spoonfuls for £5 when you can make a full bowl of soup at home for about £1 or so. So that was a big rip off. We told the staff about it and they replaced it with a bowl of tomato instead. Then we saw the amount of filling in the pie 🙄 It was basically a massive lump of pastry! We told the staff and they said it was pre made and probably just microwaved wich is pretty sloppy wich is surprising due to a farely high rated pup! We swapped the lump of pastry for a lasagna wich was again pre made and really lazy and sloppy. I was going to give it a 2 🌟 but I gave it a 3 because the staff were nice and friendly and understanded all of the problems and did give our money back for the soup wich was nice of them. So all together it is a nice little pub 😀 especially if you just want a chat and a drink.i would not suggest a meal though because you can get a 50 percent chance of the food being good or bad so be carefull. Peronaly I wouldn't take the risk and not go back and go to a pub we know we like and is worth your money.

Excellent table service with their app and reasonable prices for their draught lagers and Guinness. The outside seating area is brilliant, and the newly installed huts are exceptional, seating up to 8 people at a time. The interior of the pub and toilets were very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. ☆☆☆☆☆

I really like this pub. The landlord and the staff are very welcoming. Our waitress heard me say I felt a bit cold and offered us a table by the fire. She even put an extra log on for us. The food is good and at a reasonable price. We eat a late lunch/early tea here often

I travel from stoke on Trent fortnightly to visit my mum and extended family. We usually eat hear and never have a problem reasonable priced. But our last visit sat 26th was not as good as normal, service was slow and items wrong.5 of us had eaten before my mum got hers. The manager was excellent he really sorted out my issue. He was apologetic and gave a refund. I was tempted to not go there again but once he explained what had happened chef issues etc then I can’t fault it

DISAPPOINTED, ordered vegan wellington. It resembled, a vegan burger wrapped in pastry, it was dry, filling not much, just a huge pastry puff, hole. Vegetables looking like frozen. Meal arrived cold,sent back, but other guests had nearly finished their meal, so I was catching up. The meal did arrive hot, so that was good. Ordered drinks, took over 20 minutes to arrive. Nice and clean but impersonal no specials board. I started with prawns asked for no tomatoes but got them anyway, but plenty of prawn and salmon. My friend had sea bass plentiful with crispy skin look delicious my friend enjoyed it. I ordered rump steak med rare it was tender but a bit dry lovely chips though. We finished with coffee, pleased they had decaffeinated.

Decent lunchtime food. That came quickly. Shame there wasn't the option of a sandwich on the kids menu. Though we didn't ask if they could do one for us. We had to move inside on a lovely summers day due to the number of wasps, so maybe they need to see if there is a nest nearby. Would probably go back if we were in the area again as the staff were friendly and helpful.

Lovely pub adjoining Kinder Hub (children's soft play/role play), went to both places. Fish and chips were delicious - light and crispy batter and perfect chunky chips, crunchy outside and perfectly fluffy inside. Clean toilets, though I didn't notice any baby changing facility (only looked inside ladies toilet). Would come again.

Pub is a lot nicer since it’s been done up. Unfortunately the food is a let down. I had s sandwich and the bread just fell apart. Definitely not fresh and the salad was wilted. My children had hot food and once again the presentation was terrible with over cooked vegetables which were frozen. Service was terrible at the bar and we had to look around for someone to come and serve. Some home cooked food may help improve business.

The food and service is always good here. However I deduct on star because I ordered the vegan (lasagna)option and it didn't feel like a proper meal to be honest, it tasted good though. So if you're vegan, order some fries with your meal!

First time back after several years. Well refurbished family friendly pub by Ember Inns Had a good meal, food well presented & served hot. Great friendly bar & waiting on service. Will be returning sometime soon.

They've done a really good job on setting the place up for outdoor dining/drinking as part of the covid lockdown relaxation rules. Seats both undercover and in the open and a few seats have heat lamps too. Order from the table using the ember inns app.
