Amazing ! Amazing ! Amazing ! What more could I say about this wonderful establishment. Great service. Friendly and helpful staff. And just outright brilliant Managers! Charlotte and Andy genuinely care about the running of this pub and you can really see they’re trying their hardest to please the locals and regulars to the pub, having been thrown in the deep end. Give them a chance to settle those teething Problems and those bad reviews from will fall away. They are resilient and know how to run a fantastic team. We can’t wait to come back and enjoy the full menu !!

I am new to the area and was looking for somewhere me and my mum could sit and have some food after our walk. I was abit nervous as I have an anxious dog that doesn't really like being around people much. I went in beforehand and explained and the girl there was very understanding and showed us a quiet corner where we could be with him without people coming too close. I haven't taken him inside a pub for over 3 years as it's usually way too much for us both. He even took treats from one of the girls behind the bar when she brought him some water. He must have been very relaxed as I have never known him to take food off a stranger. Our food was incredible and reasonably priced. The nicest meal out I have had in some time. The pub itself is very clean and the toilets didn't feel like you were walking into toilets at all they were spotless and very nicely decorated. We both thoroughly enjoyed our visit and it made it all the better with my boy being able to join us and being so well accommodated. We will definitely be returning 🙂 Thank you for the pleasant experience from all 3 of us 😊

Just been for Sunday roast fantastic , I had lamb hubby had turkey, staff can't do enough for you, am hard to please I like everything well done they had no problem making sure mine was, we would highly recommend here for Sunday lunch, we will be back to try rest of menu. This establishment is so much better after the refurbishment. The internal decor is very well designed and the menu has improved greatly. We had the light bites meal deal (starter and main for £10); staryed with Southern fried chicken goujons and Haloumi fries, gammon steam and chicken caesar salad for mains. Very nice food and the staff were friendly and very helpful. *repeat visit Nov 19. If anything this place has got better as the months have gone by, adapted well to the village and keep the menu fresh. This visit we had: Toad in the Hole and a Tennessee Burger... delicious 😁

Went in Tuesday, once we heard it was back open under new management. We thoroughly enjoyed a late lunch, and the food was excellent and very good value for money. Modern pub with a good selection of beers and ales. Food is good - although I've only had the full English, service was good and the food was good value for money. More of a self-service than wait-on type deal, but then it doesn't profess to be a restaurant. There is a snug area to the far end of the bar that has sports on the 2 large tvs. This lends itself to more of an old boozer atmosphere than the rest of the place which is more gastro pub. Slightly lacking in atmosphere due to the sheer size of the place. It feels fairly empty every time I have been in, which is a shame as the staff are friendly and eager to have a chat at the bar. It feels like it should be more popular than it is.

Recently changed hands and we went to try out the food. There is a new menu which is a typical pub menu. We chose the steak and ale pie and scampi and chips. Both meals were delicious and served on warm plates. The staff were friendly and helpful and ensured we had everything we needed. There is wheelchair access from the car park directly into the pub, with plenty of room between tables. The bar is well stocked with a good selection of draught and cask beers/lagers. We had no problem getting a seat and will definitely be back. The pub is also dog friendly and have quiz night /bingo during the week and entertainment at the weekends.

Nothing special I'm afraid!! Nearly £8 for a large pink gin and a splash of lemonade!! These are London prices, £15 for a burger and a few chips and 3 onion rings, nothing special, just a run of the mill burger with 1 leaf of lettuce and a slice of bacon!! Infact every pub meal is around £15!! Its on line with a wheterspoons pub but prices are silly, and I'm no being stingy, I'm being honest, nearly £50 for 2 drinks and 2 pub meals is a bit much for standard pub grub.

Pub is beautifully presented, really nicely finished. My food was lovely, had the butter chicken curry - some other members of my party weren't too keen on their food though. Very inviting from the street, this restyled village pub beckons you in. A bit of a barn of a place inside but very well kitted out and warm. Haven't tried the food but the menu looked comprehensive. The loss of one star was the drinks tariff......are you trying to make it reassuringly expensive?

Chris and the team recently provided the venue and hospitality for the wake following my Fathers funeral. They laid on an exquisite home made buffet and everyone commented on how good the food was (especially the sausage rolls). All the sandwiches, quiche, cakes, condiments etc. were of the highest quality and the service was first class. Everything went "tick tock" and as you would wish under the circumstances. Thanks to Chris and all the staff that took care of us on 20th Nov 2017.

Sheila in The Cock and Bottle was very accommodating and let him charge the bike battery while we sat down to have a meal.. She was very attentive towards his and our needs.. nothing was too much trouble for her.. Enjoyed the food in a friendly relaxing atmosphere.. Would recommend - we will certainly be paying a return visit 😃
