Good food at an excellent price. You cannot fault the portions and everything we had tasted good. Friendly staff and well worth a visit. Food served until 9pm and with specials everyday that include a drink from about £7.50 you cannot go wrong. This pub deserves to do well so go and support your local!

Fantastic friendly experience. Staff are super helpful and accommodating. We were a large group of about 50 Aussies looking for a good feed. With minimal notice of around 30 minutes, the staff at the Guild quickly organised things to accommodate all of us..... best thing was the food is great, staff friendly and beers cold 🤙

Had lunch at the Guild Merchant a couple of times recently. The staff are very helpful and obliging. The food has always been excellent. Simple pub food but very tasty and value for money. Will be returning next week.

It's a really nice pub situated on a busy roundabout next to a garage and a Sainsbury's local. The inside is nice and it has a nice beer garden. However the food let's this place down. Husband ordered beef stroganoff and it arrived looking grey. He said it tasted like beef in dish water. I had beef and Stilton salad which was nice apart from the beef being tough and expensive for what you get. Sadly won't be eating here again.

Had some food & drinks a few days ago with my family and was served by the lovely Natassia. She was really helpful when we had some questions about the menu and was an overall great waitress. Very professional & polite while still being incredibly friendly especially with the kids! Food was good & well priced and drinks weren’t extortionate either (unlike some places these days!) I would visit again!

I came into the pub and was greeted by Tass and she made sure that the party I was with got to a table without trouble and made sure we had everything we needed. She was pleasant and polite and never stopped smiling. The pub seems to have really improved under the new management, well done!

Me and my family popped in the other day for a few drinks. The staff was lovely and welcoming. We was served by Heather who was very helpful and got everything sorted for us quickly. Some of us ordered food but I didn't have any. It all looked great though. We had been told that the place is under new management and you can tell the difference. We will be going again soon!

I booked a table using the online booking system which I found very easy to use and my booking was comfirmed promptly. On arrival we were greeted by a friendly member of staff who gave us a choice of tables. Once seated we chose our drinks and food and ordered it at the bar. Drinks were poured and we didn't have to wait too long for our food to arrive which I have to say was perfectly cooked and well presented.

Absolutely lovely pub stop! The landlord MADE it and was brilliant. Really attentative, friendly, checked on our food for us, gave us a time frame. Food was simple and tasty, great portions and price. We had gammon egg and chips, lasagne and a huge burger. Lovely to sit outside in the sun and great beer!

First time out to a pub in 18 months and not disappointed. Safety was foremost from the welcome, to the ordering and to leaving. Table service or order via a QR code on the table. Picked up a menu on the way in, great selection with plenty of pub classics and of course a good selection of drinks. Watch out for the inferno sauce with your wings! For the first time back in a pub in a long while, the Guild Merchant was just the place to start. Thanks.

All the staff are so lovely. Sam greeted us with a warm welcome and talked us through the changes to the way they work at the moment. We were shown to a table and our drinks order was taken and drinks arrived quickly. The limited menu still has a good variety of food to choose from. Our food was lovely! Staff made checkbacks and thanked us on our way out. Such a lovely experience in such an uncertain time. Thank you so much!

Clean and professional. With their app, you can download pints directly to your table and pay with either a card, PayPal or G pay. Table service was extremely quick for drinks and all the staff were masks, even outside and felt very safe. Will definitely be using them again in the future. ☆☆☆☆☆

First visit under Covid restrictions and we were impressed. It felt safe. Everything is now table service which worked well. The toilets are 1 person at a time ruling but down to customers to control and someone didn't want to follow that when I was in. The menu is reduced but there is still plenty to choose from and was a great standard. Overall a good evening out.

Love this pub for lunch, staff are very friendly and chatty. There's always a lovely atmosphere here. Food isn't overly priced (2-for-1!) The Sunday lunch is to die for! You can get refillable drinks also for something like 20p extra or something. Would highly recommend.

We have visited a few times since the reverb and every time the food has been great! The pub looks nice, plenty of seating for all occasions, sport down one and on tv and nice family dining area. The new menu has something for everyone and is such value for money. Twice I have had nachos starter, and the cheese and caramelized onion tart and it is lovely! Hubby had the curry and huge for the price! Cannot grumble at all.

Lovely staff and great food we've always had a positive experience in the Guild Merchant. They run offers all week on food and drink and the menu should have something to suit everyone. The menu is available online so check it before you go for an idea of their selection. The kids enjoy the selection on the kids menu and the desserts are almost adult sized which you can imagine goes down well with the kids! The ambience is pleasant and relaxed and it's always spotlessly clean. All the staff are friendly and happy to help. The only thing lacking in this pub is outside space. It shares a car park with Sainsbury's and backs on to a petrol station so space is limited. It has a few outside benches and a small beer garden but in sunny conditions you'll be lucky to get a spot as it's tiny! It has a couple of disabled parking bays, ramp access and wheelchair accessible doors so can accommodate for additional needs. The staff spotted myself and my Dad both have conditions that make carrying glasses an issue and without asking they brought over the drinks and offered top ups on refill drinks at the table. It's that kind of service that makes this pub our favourite in the area.

Great place. Shouldnt say that because it will get too popular! Food great. Service great. They all try really hard for you. Can be a bit of a wait sometimes because its popular.
