Reviews of The Horns Inn

Passed this pub many times on way to other places. Booked for Sunday lunch for a friend's birthday. Had the roast lamb which was amazing, so tender and no fat visible. Had dessert which was just as amazing
Service was really good. Decor of pub very nice. Very popular place to eat. Will definitely visit here again
N. L.
It's a very quaint countryside pub, interior decor is very warm and cosy - easy to find just down the road from Garstang. Went there for lunch with a friend.
Prices is a touch high, but I suppose every business has to raise their costs due to the pandemic, world war 3 and the general cost of living crisis.
The food in general was quite nice, but the burger I ordered came a little undercooked. I still ate it and it wasn't bad.
The staff are very welcoming though, which is always a bonus.
E. B.
Came here a long time ago with some friends, visited today and it was brilliant. The swords were awesome and delicious 💕 really enjoyed it.
D. H.
Extremely friendly and professional staff, Excellent meal, terrific menu, a lovely outside eating area, well worth a visit
M. E. M.
Lovely food - super tasty burgers ! I have a nice fish pie - the pub is really nice and service is very friendly -

I booked a number of tables at the Horns Inn for a family Christmas meal and I have to say I was not disappointed and that I was really happy with everything. The help and support prior to the night and what we experienced on the night was excellent. The staff are so helpful and friendly. The food and service was very good. Portions big and well presented, hot too considering there were 22 of us. I would recommend going to this delightful and well managed pub for any occasion. Thank you for making our evening special.
J. B.
Absolutely delicious food so tasty, staff were so friendly and helpful, the place was so clean and so lovely inside and out. Will 100% be coming again :)

Wonderful atmosphere and food
Just a couple of points. Had to get up and find a server as we waited a really long time for mains and it wasn't busy. They pride themselves on being a dog friendly pub but wanted to charge £4.50 for a sausage? Think they should have a little doggy menu or something suitable on the kids menu.
P. P.
This place was really busy, which is always a good sign! We were not disappointed. Lovely meals all round, staff were attentive, smiley, friendly and professional, and one guy in particular was extremely funny and made us laugh, brilliant.
The restaurant is really clean with lovely decor, and food is good value for money we thought. The desserts were fabulous with a nice portion, not the measly offerings you get in some places. Sadly, frozen chips, but you tend to get that everywhere these days.
All in all, a really successful and relaxing experience. Loved the online booking system. Thanks The Horns Inn. See you again!

Visited on a busy Saturday night, but was seated right away. Prices are slightly on the higher side but reflected in amazing quality and portion sizes.

Great pub to either sit and drink or have a meal. Travelled from out of area to go here with family. Ordered Suet steak and kidney pudding, chunky chips, peas, gravy, which cost £13.95...came well presented, all cooked to a good standard and I couldn't fault it. Well worth a visit. The menu and specials are varied and cater for everyone, Inc gluten free, vegetarian and vegan. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
M. D.
Excellent meal and well done to the duty bar person for sorting out a problem with a voucher, very professional in their handling
J. T.
My partner and I visited for a Sunday roast and we will definitely be back. We really enjoyed the atmosphere at The Horns; the staff were so friendly and helpful and the whole place just felt so relaxed and welcoming. The food was fantastic; we really enjoyed it and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great Sunday Lunch... or any other meal for that matter!

Having had large family gatherings at other places this wins hands down. Delicious food, excellent service and nothing too much trouble.
We had a fantastic time catching up with family in our own little area. Even though we didn’t use all the tables they were courteous to ask if they could sit others in that space. They didn’t have to do that but they did.
Can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu.
Thank you ☺️

Set in the leafy village of Churchtown, this ordinary looking public house hides a dark secret. Everything about this establishment shouts Quality, Quality, Quality. Plenty of tables for those who are wanting to eat that aren't crammed in. Everything has a laid back feel to it, but the staff are professional in their approach, and check that everything is OK. Drinks prices are keen but not expensive. But the food, Wow 1st class, I had a steak and kidney suet dish with mashed potatoes and garden peas and a thick beef gravy. Delicious. And the price, same as you'd pay at your local eating establishment. 5☆ rating ain't enough.
J. S.
Always drive past and today we decided to book for lunch and took on the Swords , nothing other than superb 🙂 staff brilliant 👏 photos do not do the size justice , steak & chicken/chorizo defeated us in the end
S. L.
Visited this evening and their was a special burger night menu. I had the Mexican wave burger which was amazing and my partner had the rack of ribs which was equally as good. Even though they was busy at the time the staff remained attentive and professional and really looked after us. Big thank you to Jodie, Caitlin and the rest of the team, we will definitely be back soon!!
N. M.
Excellent food and very welcoming and helpful staff. The fantastic Godfather burger defeated me. My partner said the chicken and bacon caesar salad was the best she had tasted. Thank you. Will definitely call in again.
R. b.
Lovely meal ,recommend the chicken schnitzel burger even though I couldn't finish it.
K. R.
A fantastic place .
Immaculate cleanliness and impeccable Deco.
Gorgeous setting .
Exquisite food .
Dog friendly
Most of all COMPLETELY INCLUSIVE.
They are totally competent at dealing with the unusual ,whether that be tastes ,demands - or people !
They are attentive and understanding making the experience more than just a dining experience but AN OCCASION .They did this effortlessly without prior notice as I made a completely impromptu visit AND it was 8 minutes before they were due to stop serving when we arrived but the reception was warm , welcoming and accomodating to our every need .
A perfect escape for affordable LUXURY
THANK YOU for all the respect and service you showed to myself and my family AND THE DOG 🐕 .

We went recently for xmas dinner and I have to say it was not up to their usual standards, their Sunday dinners are amazing and this is why we booked here. But this was nothing like that ,it was more like a school dinner ,pale pigs in blankets and half roasted new potatoes and hard sprouts and reformed turkey ,we left before dessert and came home as the wait time was so long ,they did knock drinks off for us when we told them why, but I had paid £200 for this for me and my 2 sons which is a lot of money for me and i feel totally disappointed, the soup was delicious and canapés a nice surprise though the staff was lovely and friendly. Sorry but this is how I feel after saving up the £200 to pay for it .
M. S.
I first ate at the horns many years ago, it's very nice now with the extended patio out back, and the food was good. However I prefered the home cooked food and feel of the place back then. That could be me getting old and nostalgic, probably is as its still very nice.
C. W.
Took advantage of the 2 steaks and a bottle of wine for £30 on a Monday offer. Not expecting too much, but was very impressed! Two tender 10oz ribeyes cooked perfectly medium to rare with a choice of sauces, tomato, mushroom and fabulously crispy fat chips and onion rings with a decent side salad. The wine was a decent shiraz too, all in gorgeous surroundings with lovely staff. What's not to love?
j. s.
Food delicious had two take outs bloody lovely. Wouldn't do a third takeout however. Felt down by management
staff had agreed the sudden change of mind very odd!! So sadly let the place down.
D. S.
We had the famous swards which tbh was really lovely and come much bigger than expected, I was expecting kebabs on skewer tbh but these was definitely swards with plenty of meat on
I had the chicken and chorizo and my partner had the steak and and we both really enjoyed them.
Staff was really pleasant and helpful, will be definitely going back 😊
t. r.
Lovely restaurant with excellent food😃. We have never had a bad meal there and recommend it to friends and family🤩We had Sunday Lunch and it was delicious 😋 All the staff are very hardworking and attentive and it is dog friendly 🐶🙂
c. k.
Lovely place to eat, the food is amazing and you definitely get your moneys worth. Portions are very generous and gorgeous location :)
V. B.
This was our first visit but it won't be the last! The staff were so lovely and friendly, making my children and my parents feel welcome. The decor is cosy and inviting; a real warm, homely feel.
The toilet facilities and disabled access are excellent, with good parking. The food was simply amazing! The steak was cooked to perfection, the scampi was crisp and tasy; every bit was the meal was faultless. We will certainly be visiting again soon.
S. R.
Beautiful food, best chicken wings I've ever had, so tasty, very pleasant staff, nice surroundings will definitely visit here again soon.
K. H.
What a nice place to eat service was good meal portions good which went with slightly higher prices.
Ordering at the bar can be a bit slow, but seeing as Friday teatime excusable
Overall impressed and will be backll
L. G.
The best pub restaurant ! Excellent food@
M. C.
Chicken and chorizo sword one off the best I've ever seen great taste huge portion friendly staff great place to eat try it you won't be disappointed
D. M.
The staff are absolutely amazing here! They go truly above and beyond! My daughter desperately wanted the unicorn sundae dessert, but it was far too big for her and even though they don't technically do a smaller version, the staff very kindly made one up especially for her! She was so happy, they made our day! The food was delicious as always. The only thing I can't recommend is the calamari. It was very tough and chewy. That's the only reason that I couldn't give it 5 stars.
T. S.
Amazing food and fantastic service. The staff were fantastic! Live jazz band were great also. Would highly recommend!
J. E.
Very nice food. Reasonably priced. Big portions. Definitely be back soon. Great also as we were able to bring the dog with us and he enjoyed it.
Z. F.
Food was lovely and staff really pleasant thankyou for an enjoyable evening x
a. r.
xmas afternoon tea .
fabulous with mulled wine and coffee, as well as plenty of sandwiches and cakes.£20. well worth it.
M. C.
Gorgeous village pub. Just set off the main road. Lovely atmosphere. Great decor. Good food. (If your passing....Stop!
M. M.
Had several meals here while on holiday in the village . Food is delicious large portions enough to satisfy the biggest appetite. Staff are lovely plenty of seating options and is dog friendly ...
A. C. H.
We had a fantastic Sunday lunch here sat out on the decking area, enjoying the sunshine.
Lovely, friendly service too.
We'd highly recommend 👌
E. P.
Excellent food, brilliant service, lovely atmosphere, will definitely come again! Thank you 👍 The deep fried cheese starter is highly recommended!
M. F.
A nicely situated pub close to Garstang and just off the A6. The staff were friendly and the venue is clean and tidy internally with modern decor. The food was OK, but a couple of small tweaks could have improved the experience. The ketchup was incredibly watered down and the mushy peas need work on. Both weren't good enough. My fish and chips however were OK.
J. G.
Great food, friendly service and lovely surroundings we would definitely visit again.
N. H.
Lovely food. Great service.
Panko chicken burger amazing the first visit. Chicken Caesar salad great the second.
Ice cream to takeaway also lovely.
J.
The main menu had nice food which was good and there was a good selection of beers. The sandwich menu was a little disappointing as there was no simple sandwiches. Disappointing that there was no baby changing facilities.
A. T.
A lovely pub in a quiet setting, lots of seating but the downside is that it's a little cramped on the decking and the seating had no cushions. The carpark is small.
b. b.
This was seriously the best Sunday roast I have ever had the beef was tender , Yorkshire pud to die for and all the trimmings In a lovely pub , great staff and fantastic bar manager highly recommended
D. B.
Good choice of food and beverages, know how to cook a steak 🥩🐄👍 nice seating area outside to dine or nip out for a crafty cig, staff Bob on, 👍 yeah I'll Arnie this place up, "I'll Be Back"😎👍
a. a.
It's a lovely pub , with friendly staff, and excellent food 👍
K. P.
Sunday roast is delicious. Huge portions. Staff are nice and it’s a nice location. Definitely recommend!
J. N.
Lovely pub food. Nice setting. Do recommend will go again
m. o.
Food is really good. Quite a long wait (35 mins for mains and 25 for desserts) but food was worth waiting for. Great outdoor space for kids to play.
p. H.
Very good food and very friendly and helpful staff will definitely come again 😀 👍
B. M.
Amazing food and fantastic service. The staff were fantastic. Make sure you’re hungry when you arrive as our portions were huge! Would highly recommend!
C. T.
Just brilliant! Great choice of food. We had various "Swords", all tasted and looked delicious. Big children's portions. One would do at least 2 children. The ice cream Sundays were to die for. Well priced and massive portions. Lost a star as they were short staffed the day we were there so waiting time was a bit long but the staff were OK and managed quite well. Ordering was at the bar for drinks and food....so was, again, slow. It was very busy! Looks as good inside as it does on the outside.
H. E.
Staff welcoming. Suprise birthday organised for 25 people. Helpful staff. Delicious food. And a singer on in the lounge afterwards. Excellent
J. B.
Usually incredible food but on Mother’s Day the food was terrible. Uncooked chicken, three times. For £25 a head. You could tell they were under massive pressure in the kitchen. A shame as it’s usually very good. Edit: went back today and food was incredible again. They offered to look after us after last experience and they really did. The meat skewers are huge and delicious. 3 stars edited to 5. Thats what you hope for from a restaurant.
S. P.
Wow.....best value, lovely food for a long time 5 stars at least
d. m.
Super service, great quality food. Lovely outdoor eating space, really well furnished and spotless 👍👍

I wanted to visit this place for very long time,i was here in 2018 for quick lunch and it was yummy then.well tonights dinner was absolutely amazing.i had creamy garlic mashrooms, kids had mushroom soup and my partner had the chicken wings. For main my partner had curry and i had cheese n onion pie.everything was as we wanted to have it served.the taste of each meal was unique and exquisite. I havnt had a proper good meal for ages.i would recommend this place to all my family and friends.friendly staff and calm environment. My autistic boy felt comfy and calm.price wise its affordable .we will be returning in the near future.sorry there is no pictures of food, but we were very hungry

Nice food easy to order, sat outside lots of tables in the garden.
D.
Food and service was great. Nice twist on the food coming on a sword. Definitely coming back!
D.
Great food friendly staff and good service
j. b.
Try the steak sword lovely place and good atmosphere friendly staff good food .
H. S.
Couldn't fault it. Lovely, welcoming staff. Fab food - definitely recommend The Godfather Burger! A quaint pub with peaceful ambience. Will certainly revisit.
j. f.
Been meaning to try for a while and so glad we did. Omly disappointing thing was I couldn't finish my meal and yes I had the Chicken and chorizo sword
J. B.
Nice friendly welcome good menu at reasonable prices for good quality food and drink definitely recommend
T. A.
Absolutely fabulous Inn. The service was first rate, the food delicious, hot, large portions and all six of our party had their meals served at the same time. A convivial ambiance. Plenty of room between tables, spacious even though plenty of diner's. Even dog friendly in specific areas. I would certainly recommend this establishment.
K. O.
Great food selection friendly staff plenty of seating inside /out
C. B.
First time I have visited here for a while but this trip was well worth it . Good service and the steak I ordered from the specials menu was well cooked and very tasty. Prices are about average and they pour a decent cup.of coffee too to round off the meal. Food was freshly cooked but despite this the service was fairly quick. Highly recommend and will definitely book a return visit very soon.
D. W.
We decided to eat here due to the great review on Google and TripAdvisor and glad we did.
Sunday roast and pies were excellent.
Very friendly staff.
Dog friendly.
We will certainly call in again when next passing.
n. h.
Great first pub meal and drink after lockdown
J. O.
Went for Sunday lunch to celebrate brothers 21st. It was perfect from the moment we walked in, great customer service and top quality food, couldn't fault a single thing☺️
M. G.
Absolutely lovely food but very disappointed with the attitude of the young girl who served us. Very abrupt and of hand. Obviously didn't want to be working on that night! We also observed her arguing with other members of staff and slamming things around.
We did complain at the time and staff were brilliant and looked after us well also good entertainment and as I say the food was most enjoyable but unfortunately this did spoil what should off been a special night.
D. s. r. s.
Lovely place to eat and relax. Food was amazing. Nice atmosphere and was made to feel welcome. Stayed over in the motorhome in the pub car park. Bonus, had an outside water tap, handy as we had run out . Would highly recommend.
L. L.
When we arrived for our booking we were greeted and shown to our table by the waiter who was then loudly reminded by his colleague "don't forget to tell them about the two hours". Waiter said, "yes, you do need to vacate your table by 7:30". Plenty of time we thought, for 4 of us having 2 courses. Service was pretty slow though and we left with 15minutes to spare! We aren't particularly slow eaters either! Good job we didn't have starters!
Food good quality. Portion sizes a little odd though. Our daughters kids curry was bigger than my sons curry from the main menu.
B. S.
My food was lovely, can't fault it but my wife's cheese & onion pie was tasty but not what was expected. Menu says it contains "Dewlay Tasty Lancashire & Mature Cheddar Cheese,
with Buttered Onions" but it tasted very mild with a texture that suggested it included potatoes. The portions are also quite large with no smaller/senior options so it's unlikely we'll be back.
A. C. S.
I travel 40 miles from Knowsley to eat here staff are superb friendly and nothing is too much for them great smiles and food is of the best and highest quality - proper food and proper service worth every penny. In fact juts decided going today 06/03/22 superb well down guys for being different from the rest
L. C.
Food was lovely portion sizes are massive!
R. E.
Lovely place to eat on a Monday (when not many places are open!) decent portion sizes, lovely food and fun Monday night pub quiz!
D. S.
Fantastic food and fantastic service from the staff. We booked for 24 people and the service was really great. The portions are so incredible, I have never had a fish and chips that I couldn't finish but this fish was a monster!
K. B.
Really lovely pub. Great food. Great staff. Will definitely be back
S. H.
A wonderful Sunday lunch has just been washed down with a Timothy Taylor's. Very generous portions of excellent ingredients that were so well cooked. Lovely atmosphere and welcoming staff. Highly recommended.
J. C.
Excellent food, nice atmosphere
j. j.
Very good food and service
Will definitely return and recommend to
Friends and family
C. T.
Lovely dog friendly pub, beer was very good, didn't eat here but my wife had a sweet and she said it was extremely good(she's never shut up about it,lol ),staff were really nice
T. B.
Disappointing by comparison to my previous visit earlier last year.
The quality of the meals were pretty average.
I appreciate the incredibly difficult time the hospitality sector has had, but I would have expected a better experience for a lunch costing £50
for 2 .
N. B.
Just stopped in for a drink. Very friendly and ended up booking food for tomorrow night. Ask me again tomorrow!
R. H.
Booked a table for 5 .But on checking menu very expensive for a child to eat here also no chicken nugget meal for a child unbelievable.
A. H.
Fantastic Sunday roast. Well worth a try. Totally delicious!
M. C.
Great roast options.
S. W.
Excellent service and excellent quality food we will be going again
K. D.
Lovely food. Staff very friendly. And to say there was 12 of us food came without delay. Would recommend.
V. S.
Lovely, accommodating staff; good choice of gluten free mains. Ice cream only for desert though, if gluten free diet required.
M. D.
5 of us dined. Thursday 7 april 6pm. Excellent food , drinks and staff. I had bbq ribs good previous time ,good again, no complaints by any. Defo go again.
M. S.
Meals that are great quality and large portions. Good service and gluten free options. Will be back.
p. w.
Very good choice on the menu, nice variety. It wasn't very busy when we arrived as it was 12 noon but soon started to fill up. We had jacket potatoes, one with garlic mushrooms and one with cheese and beans, both very tasty. Reasonably priced and very important to us DOG FRIENDLY. Thank you. Will definitely be back
G.
Not the best first experience here, mainly due to it being the first night of the new table only service that resulted in a lengthy wait for our meals.
But that aside the venue was nice and the staff were helpful and pleasant, and if we were ever in the area again we would give it another try.
The food was enjoyable without being exceptional and the free drinks we were offered was a welcomed gesture, and coupled with the added, and unexpected, bonus of the government discount still on offer helped ease the initial disappointment.
The current global situation makes eating out very different and ocassionally difficult for all and hopefully our experience was, as I suspect, just an unfortunate one off. Good luck to everyone. Thank you.
E. J.
Went for Sunday lunch. Lamb was gorgeous, but the full plate was swimming in gravy so all veg was mushy and tasted of gravy. Won't stop me going again , if in area but would ask for gravy in a boat!!!
K. C.
Excellent food, the staff are fab and very helpful especially the manager we enjoyed it there.
T. B.
First time visit. We were celebrating hubby's birthday today and a belated 18th meal for stepson from December (covid stopped play as doesn't live with us)
Food was a-may-zing.. Hubby had beef and stepson had lamb both said how lovely and tender the meat was. Both had ordered a second Yorkshire pud as usually when eating out they are mediocre at best.. Oh their faces when they saw them, They were ginormous and absolutely delicious. I had the black pudding starter as a main, it was really tasty and a very generous portion. Dessert was the lemon and ginger crunch cream really light and refreshing.
This may be our first visit but it will definitely not be our last would give 10 🌟 if I could.
M. S.
Excellent food, pleasant staff
E. H.
Excellent food and service also dog friendly
G. J.
Nice clean pub food great would recommend
J. C.
First time we have been here. They offered us a lunch time offer which we took up! For starters I had the coconut shrimp (I kid you not it was simply amazingly tasty!) and had the fish and chips for lunch. The fish and chips looked like a small portion when arrived but certainly plenty to fill you right up. Really bloody good pub food. Well done chaps.
K. P.
We visited for lunch today. It was really clean, today and well presented and there were some lovely things on the menu.
On ordering we were told there was a bit of a delay for food as it was busy - they estimated about half an hour.
Thirty minutes came and went, as did forty minutes...and, after asking twice, in the end it was around an hour before our food arrived. They were extremely apologetic and did give us the food for half price.
The food was really, really good - no complaints at all! Great value for money (even at full price) - very fresh, tasty and we'll presented. And the waiting on staff were all friendly and apologetic - at the end of the day it's not their fault that they were understaffed on a busy half-term week day!
I'd definitely go again and just hope that the unexpected delay we had today was a one-off.
L. R.
It was very nice lots of good sized portions, quality food, staff are lovely. If you encounter amy issues they are resolved straight away.
P. R.
Had a great meal, however, don't eat for the day before as portion size is huge, alternatively, they could serve smaller portions as there process are very competitive, good night out with the pub quiz as well
G. T.
Pleasant enough. Nice surroundings lovely staff. The non alcoholic drinks, tea and coffee are I believe, over priced.
The food smells delicious.
K. W.
Another great meal out here…
N. P.
We were welcomed by friendly staff and served promptly with delicious food and big servings. Well worth a visit
S. J.
Food was delicious, but the portions were so big!
S. R.
Went today with family and friend. Service was first class food lovely and priced reasonably well worth the trip definitely do it again
M. W.
Excellent meal, reasonably priced. Plenty on the plate. Customer focused staff make you feel very welcome. Good choice of beers again reasonably priced. Just one slight criticism, could do with clearing the tables a little quicker for the next customers. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5.
D. G.
Me and the Mrs went here today, the place was very busy. The place itself is nicely decorated. Also they have a good beer garden which is good so the children can play. The service here was second to none. The staff was friendly and helpful. Also there were staff being trained behind the bar an they were doing a good job. The food was delicious, but if anything the fries with the burgers could be better. They were more like Wetherspoon's fries not so good. But in all I would definitely recommend the horns Inn to anyone. Been here before, and will be coming back.
S. X.
Totally different to when I last visited. Great new menu, well cooked and a lovely atmosphere. Had a great meal after a spot of clay pigeon shooting at triggr.co.uk up the road, perfect day out!
Would like to see them offer some lighter dishes in summer rather than having the same things on all year.
B. E.
Everything was perfect, couldn't fault anything
G. D.
This was a revisit and a very pleasing experience. The prawn cocktail and lamb shank were delicious and the service excellent. We were particularly pleased as this was a birthday lunch and we were made a fuss of on a special occasion. I have no hesitation in fully recommending this venue👍
W. H. T.
I enjoyed takeaway Sunday lunch. Beef wasn't perhaps as tender as some may like it, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Well presented and ample portion. Good desert of lemon and ginger crunch.
D. M.
My first visit to The Horns Inn yesterday evening. The food was delicious, the waiting staff were superb, friendly and very helpful - especially during the lockdown.
Out waitress Katie was a shining example and a role model to all waiting staff. Very accommodating and very professional.
Highly recommend!
w. l.
Family dinner 4 adults and 2 children all thourouly enjoyed our Sunday lunch the roasts where spot on very tasty and the children's meals very generous and just what they wanted the staff are very polite and the atmosphere very relaxed 5 stars
J. H.
Well organised ref: Covid. Had to chase up the food order after waiting over an hour, it was obvious the foid had been sat under the heat lamps waiting to be served to us as the sauces on 2 of the meals has formed a skin on top, and 1 of the meals had the wrong side order delivered. Pity as we have had good service and good food on previous visits
S. S.
fantastic staff and a totally relaxed atmosphere ,ordered home made parsnip and curry soup as a starter and it was totally awesome ,main course to follow was just as good never I have tasted food and enjoyed a meal so much in pub/inn environment that was above restaurant standards in my honest opinion even got the recipe for the soup off the chef got to be on your list of places to visit i will certainly be returning again thank you
k. K.
Really nice food and Friendly place to eat
A. R.
Great food plenty of it,friendly staff very well presented would recommend. Thank you for a wonderful meal.
K. C.
Fantastic staff, fantastic food, fantastic atmosphere!
A. S.
Exceptional food, service and staff, the drinks and ice cream aint half bad either 😀😀.
The Horns Inn had looked after us and the local area with an exceptional takeaway service during lockdown, so going for lunch there, the food was exceptional and the portions perfect.
A. y.
First off the food was really good, the service is good and the staff are very polite, however I dont see why I cant order a drink at the bar I have to use an app to have outside yet I have to go to the bar to pay for my meal, otherwise it would have been 5 stars.
A. K.
A very nice meal. Can't complain about size of the portions nor the quality but I would question the garlic mushroom starter which wasn't really that good. But that's an opinion. A nice place and the cask ale was good which was a bonus as real ale is normally not the best at these types of eating houses.

I absolutely love the Horns Inn. The food is to die for, with a great selection on the menu, the food always piping hot upon service and The portion sizes are what you would want when your craving a proper filled meal! The staff are always friendly and helpful, just a very welcoming and a perfect dining experience from start to finish. You have to give this place a try!
j. w.
Excellent venue for food and service
K.
We had a lovely meal. The staff couldn't have been any more helpful.
J. T.
Great staff, amazing food!
R. E.
Absolutely excellent. Service impeccable. Food. Incredible. Prices relevant to the standard of food and certainly a case of you pay for what you get.
Thoroughly recommend it to anyone.
A. F.
Good deal using the taste card.
The food was cooked well and was hot and tasty. The staff were very charming and helpful and genuinely wanted to make sure we enjoyed the whole experience.
I had the chicken, ham, & leek pie, and my partner had the Thai yellow curry. My pie was a bit disappointing to be honest. The filling was a bit lacking even though it tasted good. My partners curry was the other extreme. Packed with lots of succulent chicken in a rich Thai curry sauce, it was delicious. I had to help her finish it so I ended up having a good helping of chicken after all.
We shared a Black Forrest Dream Sundae which was very indulgent and very nice.
We were asked during the meal if our food was alright, and I had honestly voiced my opinion about my pie being a bit light in filling department. Without asking, the waitress knocked a couple quid off the bill as a gesture which I thought was rather decent.
I would definitely go back again as we have had several good meals, and the staff are really nice. I probably wouldn't order the pie again, but I would have the Thai curry or try some other tantalising alternatives such as; the minted lamb or steak & kidney pudding.
The pub atmosphere is warm and cosy with an open fire in the winter, and has a great outside eating area for when the weather warms up a bit.

Just had Tiffin box. Good variety of sandwiches and cakes. Ready when we arrived to collect them. First class service once again. Thanks to the team for coming up with this great treat in very difficult times. Look forward to visiting again when you are able to reopen.
A.
Excellent food, helpful friendly staff.Good beer and soft drinks served in pretty cut glass tumblers. Well worth trying.
H. K.
Ordered sandwiches and jacket potatoe during quiet period on Wed lunchtime. No one else waiting but took 3/4 hr after ordering to arrive. Food was good. No one came to take plates away and to ask about coffee or desserts. I know you have to order at the bar but the staff could of come to at least check we were ok and cleared our plates. Disappointed as it's a lovely place to go to with family and friends but felt we were forgotten about.
P. M.
Great food and friendly staff, lovely country restaurant.
J. B.
Went for Christmas lunch. Not quite the experience we had in 2019 but still good. It's so nice that the place was allowed to be open.
I. L.
Good place great food fast and affordable will be goin back soon
L. K.
Would highly recommend the takeaway service that The Horns is currently offering. We have had meals on two occasions and the food has been lovely, nice and hot with generous portions. A real treat, so nice to have a break from cooking.
G. M.
We ordered afternoon teas tea for take out. They are full of cakes, sandwiches and a cream tea. Really enjoyed it and service at The Horns is always first class. I recommend the afternoon tea if you haven't already had it, and we can't wait for The Horns to reopen so we can enjoy their amazing food once more.
A. D.
Had a table booked yesterday what a lovely place this was food was amazing well worth the trip .Will be back.
Staff helpful and polite
d. b.
Best food I've tasted in a long time. Definitely a pub to visit.
T. S.
Great little country pub with friendly and hard working staff. Food a little pricey but good quality, especially the great selection of ice cream sundaes. Great to pop in for lunch on way through Garstang/Lancaster via A6.
Edit August 2019:
Came here for lunch. Hadn't booked and it was very busy. But we managed to get a table without having to wait, and we were served quickly. Food was excellent, easily beating the "best steak restaurant" in the Blackpool & Fylde area. Again, would be considered to be pricey but it is a price well worth paying for the quality of the food.
C. V.
Great food and atmosphere. I've celebrated New Year at other venues but really enjoyed coming to the Horns this year. The food was great and the service was excellent. The staff were friendly and efficient. The DJ was great and played a great selection of music. During the meal the volume of music was just right and afterwards the repertoire was varied so that there was something enjoyable for all present.
S. H.
A very ordinary pub-with-pub-food. Don't plan to eat there if you are vegetarian or vegan! It's in a pleasant area and, with a bouncy castle outside, it's good for families. A reasonable selection of drinks, both alcohol and soft drinks. Friendly service.
P. D. B.
Went for Sunday lunch. Great menu and fantastic food. Sizable portions, too. We were completely stuffed when we left. Nice ales and a dizzying array of fins to choose from. Good service.
A. S.
Very nice lunch served by very nice people. Fish+Chips Top...
J. E.
Great table service, lovely food wasn't rushed ...nice embance .Toilets very clean and hand sanitizer available. Staff assisted in finding a local taxi number.would recommended and will return for food and drink .
T. H.
Dog friendly pub. Good choice of food
F. L.
Excellent Sunday lunch, definitely recommend this place!
B. J.
Mothers day meal. This was a set menu but plenty of choice 2 courses £20 3 courses £25. We had prawn cocktail and garlic mushrooms both good size and delicious. Mains salmon/ pie/£ lamb again all well cooked good size portions. Puddings divine knickerboker glory/strawberry & champagne cheese cake. Well organised and monitored by manager to ensure everyone served and tables ready on time. Today you had to book to ensure a table. Lovely spot gorgeous food .
s. l.
Nice surroundings good service excellent Sunday lunch fair price for a big meal. Special desserts
L. C.
Excellent. my friend and I were welcomed into The Horns and shown to our table by a lovely member of staff who talked us through the safety measures in place and both felt safe and at ease. The food was really good, looking forward to our next visit.
G. W.
We all chose from the Lite Bites lunch menu. There was so much that none of us managed to eat all our meals, which was ashame because they were excellent. Pleasant staff and good service. Definitely going back again.
S. M.
Popped in for dinner for 3 when visiting family nearby Best meal of the weekend away by far. Partner had the beer battered fish n chips. I had the gammon. Son had the lasagne. Food was fantastic. Would recommend to anyone 👍
S.
Ordered a steak sandwich which filled the plate! Very nice. Staff were friendly and the place was clean. Playlist was a little weird but always good to have music on in the background.
T. A.
Great pint of Landlord and it was fantastic to sit outside in the sun recovering from the gala march 🌞🍺🎺
J. J.
Invited out for a seasonal lunch with good friends. Not been here for many years, but now wonder why!
The food and service was superb and so reasonable. The ambience excellent so we will certainly be back soon!
A. F.
Definitely worth a visit. This is proper pub food, that never dissapoint's and the staff are fabulously efficient and happy to please. I couldn't recommend enough.
C. C.
This place is okish nothing special, we called in for lunch but the menu was mainly larger meals. We had a sandwich which wasn't too bad but more light bites would have been nice. Staff not very friendly, don't think i would visit again, may be it is better in the evening.
M. C.
Friendly staff, cheery, child friendly atmosphere. The salmon tasted a little overcooked but the sauce made up for that. Overall, a pleasant way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
S. G.
Great food and excellent customer service
g. t.
Lunchtime so ordered soup and cheese sandwich. Absolutely delicious, plenty of good tasty cheese thickly sliced on makes brown bread, lovely dressed salad, small pot of coleslaw and crisps. Hearty portion and very tasty. Recommended
L. R.
Bit of a disappointment with my husband's meal but quickly rectified by manager.
We will definitely make a return visit.
L. P.
Amazing lunch passing through the area. The food was delicious and cooked perfectly and was suggested by the manager Shams. The gem of this warm local pub is its character and manager who cares about everyone who walks through the door.
B. O.
Food is really good wonderful service
A. W.
Great food very safe environment
B. M.
Quality! Nothing more to say a part from compliments to the chef.
p. f.
Had two hearty lunches at the Horns, my friend had steamed steak pudding chips and peas, which was excellent lovery suet pastry and lots of steak, a far cry from Holands chip shop puds. I had the ribs which was full of meat and a very tasty sauce. Plus the staff were extremely friendly and professional ,Unfortunately I wasn't to impressed with the coffee/cappuccino
I think that it came from a automatic coffee machine, and the drinks in general are a little high but that can't take away from a lovery lunch .will return.
j. s.
Situated in a tranquil little village in Church town, close to Garstang. Upon arrival, the ambiance of the place makes it stand out from its many competitors. A wide range of quality and mouthwatering dishes is available. If you have a good appetite this is the place for you as larger than the norm portions comes as standard.. A lovely place to pop in for a quick pint or enjoy the cuisine. Certainly somewhere to visit..
b.
Sunday roast with amazing desserts. Managed to squeeze us in as a walk-in party of 3 despite being pretty full. The food was stunnibg and the portions were plentiful but not excessive
D. F.
Delicious food. Huge portions. Friendly staff. Service wasn't slow. Clearly very popular, but if you can get a table, it's a very pleasant pub restaurant.
M. L.
We've been a few times and always had lovely food and been served by friendly staff.
S. A.
Expensive food that is decidedly average. The kids food was almost inedible.
J. E.
Visited with the girls for a meal after being told it was amazing. Asked for gluten menu as instructed on bottom of normal menu. Just got same menu with very few asterisks of what was available - rump steak, sirloin steak, some other steak, gammon steak. My only other options were fish and chips or chicken curry without the nan bread. Nothing veggie. I chose curry which had a lovely sauce and plenty of rice. Chicken however was dry around edges and not the nicest. Other two ladies had stroganoff which they enjoyed.
j. j.
Delicious food extremely well presented and excellent value for money also excellent service. Will definitely be returning.
G. R.
We love this place, very special to us, has a really nice atmosphere. Perhaps a little on the pricey side but well worth it. The food and drink always scrummy and staff always lovely 😊
c. o.
First time we've been. Will definitely go again
J. D.
Lovely extensive beer garden, very safety conscious and great food and drink. Only 4 stars as not back to full service due to Covid but a very lovely pub.
B. S.
We had the takeaway service tonight, no regrets. The meal arrived hot and up to the normal Horn’s standard. Excellent service will be using this service again until they reopen
R. R.
Fabulous place. We had a family gathering for 10. The Horns were brilliantly accommodating - we needed wheelchair access, late lunch, bank holiday etc nothing was too much trouble. Great food too. Happily recommend to all.
J. P.
Lovely attentive staff and was a great place for me to stop off and do a bit of work in between meetings last week. Lovely fireplace and fast wifi, great for a working remotely spot. Food was very nice too!
L. N.
Spacious dining pub with a warming fire and cosy areas to sit. We went for a family pre Christmas lunch. Everyone happy with their meals, my featherblade of beef was delicious. Will visit again.

Good service, good food, only no steak and kidney pie or steak pudding, also cheese and onion pie was not a pie, mixture in a pan with a top

The very place to eat if you don't want to move for the rest of the day. I'm a big guy and I love to eat. The guys at the horns beat me. Massive mushroom stroganoff rice n chips and a salted caramel cheesecake all perfect. My friends dishes were all amazing. I loved my afternoon in Churchtown and will return soon. 😀😀😀
R. M.
Great food and nice place
S. B.
Fantastic selection on the menu. Huge portions, great value and lovely calm atmosphere.
P. B.
Being totally honest the food was no where near as good as usual maybe it is because they have been shut for a while and are facing teething problems. Saying this the food was edible and I will be returning in the future.
a. p.
