Reviews of The Pig & Whistle
E. H.
Lovely place for a decent carvery, the staff were fun and friendly, food was great quality and if I could handle it I'd have got even more food.
Great family environment and was fun at the end of the night to play pool with friends as its such a spacious establishment.
Definitely worth the visit.
A. D.
Very good food, and wasn't to busy only down side was building could do with a paint inside looking a bit dated now but other than that was really happy
P. M.
Spotted it driving past to our destination, called in for a bite and a pint . Wasn't that hungry so between 2 of us we ordered 5 tapas for £15. So much food, even for 2 people but well worth a visit. Carvery looked lovely and all pizzas are made fresh on site.
S. P.
Went here with partner for Sunday lunch. Booked a table on the website, not sure if you had to or not. I had the carvery, which was delicious; plenty of choice of food, to accompany the meat. My partner had a chicken burger, but tomato was forgotten. Food came before drinks and had to ask for them and a ticket for the carvery.
J. T.
Excellent service. Me and my mates come in every Monday after our local football match, we are greeted upon entry by lovely bar staff. Food is always excellent and the deals are just as good. Shoutout Angela behind the bar who always has a smile on her face.

Went to the pig & whistle on the way back from Blackpool for the weekend we decided to go there because the reviews were good and it didn't disappoint. I've been to many carverys and this is by far the best one we've been to the staff were lovely especially john who served us our meat he couldn't of been nicer or more welcoming. Delicious
N. F.
Food was good, decent priced but the disabled area is a little on the small side and can be quite the distance to the toilets as its on the other side of the pub. Would happily come back again tho :)
J. B.
Decent chain pub with good value drinks and food, the carvery we had was generous in terms of portion size and served hot which I prefer. Staff particularly friendly and well organised. Well worth a visit.
j. b.
Staff couldn’t have been any more helpful today, can’t beat a good carvery!
Big Thankyou to Sarah and the rest of the team for their fast efficient service today!
Great value for money, Will be back very soon
V. B.
I've been here in the past and thoroughly enjoyed the food. This time was disappointing as the food on the whole seemed over done. The service was very good the staff very accommodating and friendly. I will go again as it's the first time this has happened to me
J. B.
Undoubtedly the best value breakfast in town. I eat there with friends every week. Substantial, all-you-can-eat, buffet-style breakfast with bottomless tea/coffee for less than £7.50. I don't need to eat for the rest of the day 🤣🤣🤣
G. B.
We have been comming here for a long time and have always enjoyed the food. Unfortunately our last 3 visits have left us dissapointed because the food has let this fine place down.
The beef has been sent back it was simply inedible because of the fat. The potatoes are hard and bland in fact the whole carvery is rather flavourless.
The excellent staff used to come over and ask if everything is OK but even that nice gesture has been removed.
Come on pig and whistle we love comming but unfortunately the food is letting this gem down.
M. S.
The meals where a great price and where hot and delicious. Children loved the all you can eat ice-cream. Friendly and helpful staff. Lots of parking spaces.
J. B.
Good clean friendly pub
Food was spot on.
We had the carvery, all the meats cooked to perfection, very tasty n flavoursome ... Good selection of veg
We all left with full tummies
L. C.
Amazing Fresh food.greeted warmly inside drinks where made within minutes great friendly staff. I would recommend to anybody.thanks for a great carvery and ice cream
r. c.
Brilliant service and excellent food. The staff are superb and the food was top notch. The roast beef was amazing.
D. S.
1st time going, had a amazing Carvery with my partner, hospitality was amazing. Highly recommended 👌 5☆... keep up the amazing work.
T. I.
We first visited 3 years ago , when we were in the area visiting friends... back for another visit and it was every bit as good as the first time !
Great choice of food and drinks , very busy with plenty of locals eating , always a good sign .
B. N.
Excellent bar and restaurant staff, service with a smile every time we visit. We love the daily deals they are great value.
W. B.
Onle used at lunchtime. Decent carvery worth paying extra for larger portions if very hungry. Dose accept blue light card and vetrans discount
s. m.
The food is OK but, unfortunately it varies day by day. One recent visit to the carvery the beef was awful, most of of it was inedible. We wear offered a different selection, but too late. On my next visit the beef was succulent. The veg is mostly good. The staff are pleasant, some even helpful. The place is generally clean, but the gents toilets could be a lot better. I do use it when in Preston at lunch time.
N. M.
From the ample car parking to the helpful staff our experience was a very good one. The food was very nicely presented with plenty of choice, a selection of well but not overcooked meats and copious amounts of fresh vegetables. We arrived late in the day and even so the quality of both service and food were in our opinion still of a high standard. There is one small fly in the ointment though, not a biggie but to cause enough concern as to mention it, the toilets were rather smelly, but this could have been because we were as I have said a little late in the day.
A. P.
Barman who served me was brilliant even after I messed up and thought a ticket was missing. Can't remember his name but friendly fella with a neat beard. The roast beef and turkey was beautifully prepared and was so juicy, perfect. The gravy was banging too. Really enjoyed the food and was absolutely stuffed afterwards. Thanks 😊
N. C.
Awesome meal and great value for money. the goats cheese pizza was divine and my husband's carvery was cooked to perfection. Restaurant staff were friendly and polite, and very attentive. Would recommend.
P. L.
It was our 1st visit and we were a bit lost as to where to sit. No one around to ask.
However, I soon found where to order and Mum soon found the carvery deck.
The food was good, could have been hotter, 12o clock visit. But was value for money.
If in are ,would visit again.
k. w.
Only popped in for a quick pint but a nice pub with a good selection of beers, wines and spirits. The cavery looked delicious. Just let down by a few ripped seats that had been taped up instead of being repaired. The staff were friendly, helpful and polite.
C. R.
Fantastic service and food all staff are lovely, special Thankyou to Melissa for being polite and helpful :)
J. L.
Much than I first expected. Especially love the veggie burger and can't wait to have it again! Even when we had an issue the staff was polite and helpful and it was rectified quickly without a fuss
J. b.
My wife and myself having been coming to this local Pub for many years..The atmosphere and customer service is superb. The staff present (and past )have always made us welcome .well done Pig and Whistle.
R. G.
It was OK. A party of 6 came, myself & my partner, my best mate, her husband & 2 of her children. We came to celebrate my promotion.
My neice unfortunately found a hair in her mash. But the staff dealt with it with no fuss or palava.
I would like to recommend however that you start offering a mini-pud w a hot drink option as other venues like this do
L. N.
Friendly and helpful staff. The food was lovely. I would definitely recommend the unlimited ice cream (especially if you are with kids) xx
A. M.
The carvery was the worst bit of pork ive had, since being in the toilets the week before. 10/10 would recommend
c. f.
Food was amazing, not dry and actually tasty opposed to other carveries where they’re dry and tasteless, beers are always good and not flat so that’s a plus, parking is limited on a Sunday but it’s to be expected
K. W.
Friendly and helpful staff, Nice carvery, We booked in at short notice for a 'lockdown' birthday meal, more or less threw them a birthday cake to bring to the table without any prior notice, and we forgot the candles! luckily they had some spare candles, Thank-you, we had a lovely evening.
K. B.
Relaxed atmosphere, made for a peaceful lunchtime break. For a pub meal, I was pleasantly surprised with their attention to detail , would definitely recommend the Pig & Whistle
H. F.
Love the chocolate fudge cake, very friendly. Great service x
m. r.
good food and choice of drink, reccomend you to try it out.
j. l.
Nice atmosphere, good drinks selection. Just a nice place for a nice drink
A. C.
Staff very pleasant x attentive good food quality even though we went late better than I expected so all credit gies to the staff x the atmosphere was great too no riff raff in this pub restaurant
B. S.
Very busy, but helpful staff soon managed to find us a table, carvery deck was also very busy but the servers coped admirably
J. W.
We love to nip down to this pub for the carvery. Been a few times now and the food is always hot and there's lots to choose from. Reasonable prices. Always quick service too.
G. “. W.
Normally a great meal out. However on Saturday, the service fell below the standard expected. We were a party of 12. The ones who decided not to have a carvery, didn't receive the food they ordered. Every one else had finished. We complained whilst they received the food in a takeaway bag and a refund, we were disappointed as we came out for a special birthday. Carvery itself was lovely. Meat was fresh but still spoilt the evening.
J. C.
Friendly staff lovely food and a great service loved all the food. Wil definitely be visiting again
C. J.
The breakfast is usually second to non, all you can eat for 5.89!!! Absolute bargain, on regular occasions you're stood there waiting and eventually get a plate to choose your desired breakfast. One other down side to things is the fried eggs are usually very under cooked and very unappetising and if you want mushrooms it's extra on the price!!
M.
Lovely carvery although meat was a little dry from being under the hot lamps. Disabled access & facilities. Toilets lovely and clean. Staff members friendly
C. B.
Loved the carvery .. Definately go back .. seated quickly .. good friendly staff ..
T.
Fantastic place came with someone I support and soon as we entered we were asked by a couple of staff one behind the bar if we needed any help carrying food and drinks, Jess was also brilliant and make the supported person feel amazing by allowing us plenty of room to get a carvery really made our day thanks
B. M.
Made a last minute booking for a party of 13 to eat quite late in the evening and we were all really well looked after. Carvery was awesome!
J.
The food is brilliant for just 5 pound you get a adult buffet
C. L.
Melissa was extremely helpful.
Fast service, food is amazing.
M. E.
Come to place for a carvery. Good choice and very tasty. Good price.
G. W.
Food was not great the beef was just gristle the gammon the same really not what it used to be none of us ate a great deal sad to see one of my favs be so bad terrible carvery will not be going again !!!
A. N.
Had a lovely small carvery for £4.99,
Plenty enough,
Delicious, great service.
K. M.
Went into the pig and whistle today for breakfast, all staff was amazing and helpful, assistant manger jess was working and what a credit she is to the business. Breakfast was on top form everything was hot and taste amazing highly recommend 👌
H. B. (. B.
Been to the pig & whistle a few times when I’m in Preston and it’s always been lovely, the food is good and the staff are all so nice, the girl on the bar when I last went (Megan) was lovely and was always around to help when it was needed!
P.
We booked for 4pm but was told that they were 40 mins behind. I was a little unhappy with that but at the end of the day we had a nice meal. Good service except for the delay.
H. 8.
Came in to try something off the new menu, went for the Doritos smash burger with a side of dirty fries. They were amazing, I will be back.
C. C.
Really tasty food, really good value for money. Chelsi in front of house is so friendly, talkative and attentive to the customers needs.
M. D.
Went for carvery loved it. Great food and service.
E. G.
Had a lovely carvery lunch here. Food was hot & tasty. Choice of 3 meats (beef, turkey & gammon), all the vegetables and potatoes you want and tasty gravy. The place itself is tired/a little worn but if you want a tasty, reasonably priced roast with no airs and Graces this is for you.
C. D.
Went for a Sunday breakfast.. it sets u up gor the day. Food was fresh and tasty..
Y. B.
Took my father in for lunch today as it was recommended to us.
The food was cold and tasteless from the carvery.
The glasses our drinks were served in were dirty. The tables and utensils were dirty.
Not one to complain but my father left his full meal.
Told the staff and we never saw to them again.
We will not be going again.
L. M.
Great service and friendly staff. Food was spot on. Fantastic service, daily deals are good value
d. e.
Got a sausage, was made plain if I had a sausage then I would have to forfeit a slice of meat? So had ham and pork....a slice of each as thin as two cigarette papers. Plenty of veg though. Thank God staff didn't serve that though or I'd have to have gone to the chippie to get a decent meal. Staff were very nice, tables cleaned and sanitized, very enclosed space though and tables too near each other. Covid over?
D. S.
Another visit and happy to say things have improved. Great choice of carvery and veggies, quickly seated at a table, no need to book. Prices have gone up a little, but that’s the same everywhere these days. Quick service, tasty food, 100% delivers on expectations for a great roast dinner. 👍
L. J.
I've been coming to the pig and whistle for quite a few years now and it never disapoints me. The food is always lovely & fresh, the place is always tidy & clean and the staff are so welcoming, friendly and always make you feel comfortable. I'd definitely recommend coming here.
J. S.
Lovely carvery! We ordered it with the nut roast, and the value for koney was great, a guy with tattoos was really lovely and helpful. The people on the counter were pleasant too
m. a.
Had a great time, food amazing and staff even better . Would definitely return
O. J.
Home of AFC Gillingham and Cheese. 2 for 1. Been to a few pubs none as good as this.
G. B.
I go now and again for the carvery, choice of meats & help yourself to as much veg as you like. If you catch them when the carvery first opens then all the veg is freshest. Cauliflower cheese is watery & some of the veg is over boiled but on the whole value for money. The whole setup is a little cheap & cheerful.
L.
Food tasted good but sadly there was a 45 minute wait for children's menu choices which we weren't pre-warned about. By the time the 'menu ordered' meals arrived the carvery had ran out of meat so there was another 15 minute wait on top whilst we waited for the meat change over. We arrived at a busy time - 6pm on a Friday - so it was to be expected.
G. C.
It's a lovely place clean and tidy with lovely staff. The all you can eat breakfast is really good for what you pay you really can't have any complaints.
C. H.
We came in originally for a drink but then decided we wanted food. The kitchen had finished making pizzas for the day but they very kindly agreed to make up the order for us. We had the meat feast calzone with extra jalapenos. It was absolutely delicious with plenty of meat and garlic. Excellent customer service and lovely food.
P. H.
It's ok, service is good but food is meh
P.
Booked a table for 2pm went in it was quiet, got a warm welcome from Sarah, Ordered with Martyn the barman who was great!, went for the carvery food which was delicious nice and hot, and plenty of choice! Great place and great to bring children/families highly recommend 10/10 🥰🥰
m. p. (. T. A.
Great place to eat as always. Took my LDR partner for her first carvery in Britain and she really enjoyed the friendly service and tasty food.
k. O.
Little gem lovely reasonably priced food which is of plenty and good! Friendly happy staff.
Staff always
C. A.
Excellent service bar staff are very friendly definitely returning
S. W.
Food was lovely. I'm always a little wary with a carvery as I don't know how long the food has been out. The meats were fresh and the choice of vegetables and potatoes is enough to please the whole family (including the fussy kids).
The staff were friendly, polite and quick to attend to us. I was a little unsure about the covid implications but the servers really listened to what you wanted and the waitress took it to the table quickly, leaving you to enjoy your meal.
Reasonably priced is always a bonus. Thumbs up from me!
N. R.
Me and my partner came in here and ordered two carverys, we have no complaints atmosphere was friendly and nice, the food tasted fresh and was hot! Deffiently will return. Thanks for a great meal
y.
Table wasn't cleaned on arrival, no knife and fork on cutlery pit hut really tasty food
C. M.
Just had breakfast all u can eat including waffles and pizza was brilliant loved it .all the staff were friendly and helpful apart from the chef behind the counter who was miserable and dropped my mushrooms all over the counter .
D. R.
the the staff are brilliant especially Becky and Sarah, always get a warm welcome
R. S.
I had breakfast here and I'd definitely eat here again.
D. H.
My local hangout, service is always fast and the staff and management are great
S. N.
Pizzas are ace! Good atmosphere and beer. Assistant manager was very friendly and helpful 👍🍻👍
C. R.
Can't beat it for value, four of us bad a small plate roast dinner at £4.99 ,and we all really enjoyed it.I don't know anywhere else in this area where you can find this sort of value for money nowadays. I recommend it.
S. A.
Love coming here the staff n food are great n happy n chatty I can go in there on my own lovely place to eat n drink they go out there way x
P. C.
I enjoyed myself yesterday and the meal was excellent.
K. G.
went for Sunday lunch. Long wait for food. Husband finished eating his carvery before my son and me received our food (burger and chips).
A. P.
Great place staff great and food the building needs a repaint refurbish otherwise great
K. M.
A very decent breakfast at a very decent price.
There is a Stonehouse pub very close to where I live, so as I drove into Preston and saw this place I already new the standard of food I'd get and make so to call in on my way back home
M. B.
Great for a roast dinner.
E. R.
All the staff were welcoming. Special mention to.the two staff behind the food counter as they were. Very friendly, having a laugh and joke with customers.
We both had a carvery. The food was served piping hot and everything had been cooked perfectly.
Best meal we have had so far and well worth the money
J. C.
Very nice meal spock to a lovely lady Jess who was very helpful
C. A.
We frequent The Pig & Whistle regularly, the food is always good and the staff friendly.
G. M.
Food good staff are very welcoming
Q. D.
The staff on the bar were very friendly during my visit and also the staff on the carving deck. The food tasted amazing. The only down fall was the lack of customer service I'm the dining area. We had finished our food and was waiting around 30 minutes for them to take our plates away and noone came. So I went to one of the lady's and asked if I could order desserts she never said a word to me apart from what do you want. So I gave her my order and sat back down. 10 minutes later my dessert came she placed it in front of me and still didn't take the empty plates from the main meal. My friend then ordered a pudding for herself and it took 25 minutes to come. The lady eventually moved the plates but I felt as though she was quite rude and she looked like she didn't want to be there.
G. C.
Its a carvery, whats not to like.....and for the money, the beef was really good.
R. T.
Great carvery, fantastic staff couldn't recommend this restaurant any more highly because both me and "my" wife really enjoy eating here on a Sunday afternoon after the main rush is over.
J. B.
Fantastic service everytime especially faye and sarah behind the bar
D. C.
Food amazing staff very friendly cant wait to go back
s. b.
Carvery okay, good amount of food,
S. S.
Came in today and yes very enjoyable the food was hot and fresh and lots of it and the customer service was great .only thing that let us down was the ice cream machine was not working so a sad little 8 year old
K. M.
Wish this review was in happier times. The food was good, and was delivered to the table by servers. The portions were generous and very tasty. Yorkshire pudding was cooked perfect. Three meats to choose from .
A good job as we were passing through on the way to scotland and a three hour journey ahead of us. Great packing for the trip.
P. W.
Nice carvery. Had 4 meats on as had extra from weekend. Better than last 2 visits but potatoes were not as good as they use to be.
D. S.
Went to Pig and Whistle for some dinner and overheard Chelsea talking to an elderly gentleman. She was concerned that it was getting dark and she didn't want him walking home by himself. She was very caring and was calm when he struggled to find his wallet for payment. I was amazed by her kindness and thoughtfulness. You could clearly see that the elderly gentleman was at Pig and Whistle for some company. She took the time out to talk to him and help him. We need more Chelsea's in this world. I know that this is suppose to be a review of the food and service but I was taken aback by the caring nature of Chelsea. That was true customer service.
J. S.
Enjoyed the Carvery, good portions from the meat section, served by a guy who was very friendly, veg station very well stocked all good
Cauliflower Cheese was delicious. All round a great experience, thank you.
R. G.
Melissa, Becky and Sarah were lovely. Food was brilliant.martin seemed abit depress possibly a wage rise is due
S. N.
Slow service waited 5 mins for someone to show up at the carvery desk then another 10 mins while he swopped all meats over , yorkshire puddings on carvery were frozen ones, no mash and only veggie gravy
D. I.
Great for the all you can eat breakfast
L. F.
Only had a pint so can't comment on food but the pint (stella) was really fresh and crisp.
D. K.
Excellent vegan carvery (nut roast) and all the trimmings at a reasonable price. I regularly take four generations of my family and we have never had any problems.
G. S.
Great pub great atmosphere, but best of all seeing chelsi made my day :)
J. R.
Great food great service friendly staff and great value for money.
K. R.
Nice food. Felt sorry for the staff putting up with customers kicking off as there under staffed. See you again!
R. W.
Great landlord and landlady, constantly on the go, making sure everyone is looked after in a friendly and relaxing manner. Staff working extremely hard, to maintain that excellent customer service level. Really enjoyed the food.
J. P.
A good pub with friendly staff and great food. A nice atmosphere and if you want a place to be comfortable and enjoy your food this is the one. Enjoy.
M. H.
Great carvery overall. Very good pricing and good quality and portion sizes, will definitely be back.
A. L.
Great plentiful food lovely staff
m. b.
went for breakfast, food was good and plentiful, staff great, place is a bit tired and could do with a refurb.
S.
Absolutely loved it
Great food carvary was spot on
Staff was so friendly and accommodating
Even gave my Mrs a doggy bag to take home cos her eyes were bigger than her belly 😳
Definitely come back very soon 👍
L. G.
Good inside deco, the menu is good; we've been on a Monday where any pizza and burger were at 2 for 1 so It was great.
The Pizza Pepperoni was good size and tasty, the Bacon burger was just ok, nothing wow, originally priced at £10, great is was 2x1 because otherwise i would not recommended.
There is no play area for the kids outside.
The outside patio area was soulless and unlucky us, we wanted to seat there as it was a very hot day but everybody out there were smoking.
A. G.
Went for carvery on a Sunday afternoon. Was busy, but didn't have to wait for a table, which I expected to, being a Sunday.
As always was not let down by the quality, price or customer service. Polite waiting on staff, happily willing and able to help with questions or help needed. The 2 guys behind the carvery serving counter were polite, curtious and happy.
The food was up to the high standard I expect. 4 juicy meat options , plenty of different veg choices and potatoes. Delicious.
I. C.
Nicely refurbished pub and restaurant. Had the carvery option midweek. It was good on a weekday but due to the lower turnover of the food in the week, most of the dishes were too cold. This made you eat quite quickly...a bit more supervision needed to help maintain the quality and temperature of the ingredients. Drink options good. Waiting staff were good.
M.
Food pretty good for this type of place but the team that work there all stood out. What a great bunch of friendly people who seem to enjoy their work and aim to do it really well.
Thanks to everyone (and I mean everyone) who was working on the evening of May 31st.
J. D. V.
Lovely carvery. Pleasant staff. Decor needs an update though

Food was amazing, great friendly staff, very welcoming and accomodating.
Huge improvement from my last visit!
2 years ago; - 3 stars..
Food is hit and miss.
Sometimes a large carvery will overload your plate, other times you don’t get as much.
Since the prices have gone up, the food has gone down hill.
100% Wheelchair accessible & disabled friendly :)
e. c.
Great service good food staff couldn't have been more polite
L. T.
Food was lovely, staff were nice and polite, had a lovely lunch.
P. T.
Excellent value for money. The carvery was lovely, as usual, as well as the ale. The puddings and were nice too. Extra bonus of some money knocked off for having a Blue Light Card. I've never had a bad meal or drink yet, in the years that I have been.
A. B.
Nice place, friendly staff, the carvery was spot on. Highly recommended if you just want to pop somewhere for quick proper food
L. S.
Two of the staff were lovely. ..the rest just seemed to disappear when we walked in .as we never been before we had to ask how you ordered. The young bar maid was extra nice and the cockney lad serving on the carvary was too. Food was to a good standard. It was clean and tidy but hand dryers did not work in the lady's restroom. Would go again if we pass there. Hopefully they will have the hand dryer fixed .
D. P.
Lovely service at the pig food is excellent, the young lad behind the car very deck was excellent carried my mums plate to her table as she struggles doing it. Deffo recommend
t. e.
Food was lovely and warm , staff friendly, lovely as not too busy.
p.
Can't fault the place. Eat as much as you want all for one price. Definitely be a repeat customer
B. S.
Used to be a regular here but sadly the prices have increased but the service has decreased. It has happened a few times now where food is wrong and then end up eating separately to each other. No apology given
M. E.
Becky was very accommodating and helpful.
Kitchen safe were very polite.
E. T.
We had Starters, a Regular Carvery each followed by Desert & really enjoyed it but was too full after. I felt it was a nice relaxing atmosphere with nice food & nice choice of Beers & Wine. Place is Huge and was extremely busy as it was Sunday. Great Place.
R. a.
Great pub great food. Highly recommend 👍
M. E.
What can I say about this place but absolutely amazing food friendly staff lovely place the go and enjoy some food and nice drink lovely atmosphere definitely be going back again
M. D.
Great pub for a quick drink or a cheap family meal. Despite being cheap, the food is still good and the atmosphere is always good too. The staff are lovely and very accomodating to a family with young children. Only criticism is that if you go for the carvery, the food is sometimes a little dry, but obviously that will depend on what time of service you go and for the price, it's not really something I can complain about... just add more gravy!!
A. G.
It is what it is! Pub chain with pub chain food, nothing spectacular but good value. My Dad loves the buffet breakfast so that's worth it for me!
A. L.
Great food and choice, there always something for everyone! Cheap and cheerful. Friendly and accomadating staff, good atmosphere great for families with young kids. Clean and quick service. They use separate knives for each roast which is very considerate!
Y. L.
First time back since Lockdown. Booked online. Not many in at breakfast time today Sunday. Food hot, good and plentiful now it's back as a buffet serve yourself. Will be going again.
s. b.
We had the carvery, the meat was beef and Turkey and ham,all was very good.Nice selection of vegetables. The staff were very helpful and friendly .
C. C.
Great food and easy to get to. 🙂
C. L.
Wanted to give this 3½ stars, 4 too high and 3 unfair. The meat was lovely and not overcooked at all. Vegetables were ok but the roast potatoes were tasteless, dried out and cold. I think it has been taken over by a new chain and it's no where near as good as it was before. A little expensive too. They should thank their lucky stars they have great staff holding it all together.
M. Y.
Popped in for Sunday lunch with my wife and had the carvery. They were able to cater for gluten free, which was great. The food quality was ok, but the quantity was good and the value couldn't be sniffed it. All in all it was a good experiance, but I wouldn't rush back.
M. R.
I would have given this a 4 star however the food given to me was quite cool. I dont usually have this experience so can only imagine it is due to the whole waiting experience which covid has bought with it. Hopefully when we next return it isn't an issue.
L. T.
Sunday was very busy but staff still tried to accommodate us in shirt notice.....love the food!
J. E.
Food was really nice and staff although busy were ready to help. Sanitizing stations clearly marked and process of signing up to track and trace was ok, although would recommend that at the least staff should notify visitors of this prior to leaving or upon arrival.
J.
Melissa was extremely polite and helpful.
A. P.
Been here a few times and it wasn't up scratch this time. I had the carvery, was not impressed. It usually good, I had the turkey and it was dryer than a camel's hump! But nothing looked any better. And the veg was tasteless.
To be fair it was busy and the pizza are very good.
M.
The carvery was always the only food available here until fairly recently until they opened a pizza and burger counter and a salad bar. I had a burger there last week and it one of the best I've ever had anywhere. The pizza's are also. The dining area does regularly look messy with spilt/dropped food at most of the tables, come on team you can do better. Overall to be fair a reasonably cheap and cheerful eatery.😊
M. p.
Went for food on a total random choice as we were staying close by. Amazing food! Friendly staff. Lots on the menu to choose from also.
R. G.
friendly staff and nice food
S. M.
Call in here for the first time today with my daughter and granddaughter for my daughter's birthday. The place is clean and tidy, the staff are friendly and very helpful. The food is decent and the plates are pilled high . I was even impressed with the app which I also downloaded for the first time today also. Will deff be coming back thank you everyone at the pig and whistle. X
j.
It's been a while, since i have been to the pig and whistle. I think it may have changed hands between then and now. I came here for lunch with my daughter. We left feeling very happy and totally stuffed. We had the carvery, all the food was cooked to perfection and there was plenty of choice. The staff was friendly from the helpful bar staff to the cheeful guy carving the meat. Would definately go back for seconds.
N. R. A.
Absolutely fantastic service! our first visit there as family celebration and surely will not be our last :)
The food was top notch and cooked to perfection. The staff were brilliant, very attentive explaining the various menus and specials on offer. I think it was David who served that evening, with other staff members who were all fantastic!
I would definitely recommend and planing to go again very soon, with a huge thanks to the all the staff there that night for helping us pull off the surprise birthday :)
m.
I had my 60th birthday meal with a party of 22. I had booked only a few days ahead but was accomidated. The staff were very nice and friendly. The waitress attending to us was very helpful and managed to make some changes to accommodate a large power wheelchair. The food was good and great value. I would recommend this place to others.
C. S.
The food was great. Cooked beautifully and enjoyed it however the service was bad. It took just short of an hour for the food to arrive, and almost 40 minutes after ordering the dessert we had to tell a member of staff our order again for her to go and get it. Was so disappointed with that because the food wonderful
V. N.
Very tasty food, friendly staff and great environment, very family oriented and great to be with friends. The carvery is very tasty and recommended.
S. M.
Good honest food with no bells but at a great price
l. d.
Very good plenty to choose from must go again
B. G.
Fantastic quality food and the take away carvery is brilliant value for the sheer amount they give you.
D. P.
Staff very efficient and friendly, food lovely, only fault I found was where we sat the roof was leaking direct onto the carpet this must of been happening for a while as there was a very musky smell.
T. C.
Cannot fault this restaurant at all. The food was delicious. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The COVID procedures were easy to understand and follow. Highly recommend
R. K.
Carvery itself was a bit disappointing. Mash was starchy and still had full potatoes in. Pizza was 10/10 and brought the overall score up. Staff friendly and happy to help. Couldn't fault in the end.
L. B.
Nice staff !! Good food!! Good brew!!
m. f.
Wow first time i have ordered take away from The Pig & Whistle Stonehouse Preston..Lovely Nice Pizza although a little cool Cooked Chips & Fab Salad to go with it..I will certainly be ordering again..Very impressed Tastes great!! Good Value. Much better than other takeaway outlets..Really enjoyable.
T. K.
Haven't been to the Pig and Whistle for such a long time. But we visited since we had a 33% off voucher. We were offered desserts at a special £1.79 price. We don't normally order desserts but thought we'd give them a go. When I later checked my receipt I'd been charged £3.99 for them instead. I asked the waitress who checked with the manager. Apparently it was because I had 33% off and this was a better deal. It clearly isn't as that would bring the price to 2.66! The reason we visited is that I was feeling under the weather, so couldn't be bothered arguing. But when every penny counts and eating out is such a treat, being overcharged is annoying.
The food was good and the calzone amazing. Being offered a special offer and being overcharged not so good.
L. R.
Hubby and I had the carvery. Nothing on it was warm never mind hot. Wasn't keen on the 3rd person (staff) having to then take plate to table, that's now 3 members of staff handling plates before you get it. On the plus side when mentioned food wasn't warm we did get free puddings and drinks.
S. B.
I always love the carvery here, though my friend was I'll the next day. She had the beef and I didn't, so not 100% sure of the cause. The first cut she had was very fatty and difficult to cut, so she took it back and got some from the other side. I enjoyed mine though 😊
L. A.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Varied value for money menu. Good sized portions. Problematic if you are gluten free and there is only 1 vegan option but that is served with flatbread! My lunch consisted of potato skins with sour cream..which were delicious.
Would go again with the family as everyone enjoyed what was on.offer. please consider those of us that cannot tolerate gluten
G. B.
Excellent service great staff, Sarah is the best
a.
Very good staff even in hard times and probably the best pizza and the best chocolate fudge cake I've ever had, the food is also very cheap is which is brilliant. I've probably been here 10 times and each time I would rate it a 5 star.
C. C.
Yes, nice busy place and good food. We had a carvery and the beef was a bit rare for me but lovely selection of fresh veg, one gripe was that the plates on the carvery were cold and i hate that. Staff were ok but they all looked miserable.
G. L.
Lovely carvery and freshly made pizzas in a Stone bake oven. Also order home delivery! Very busy at tea time on a Sunday but can be avoided if you go around 4pm or prebook a table. Staff are friendly and helpful!
D. L.
The food and service was very good 👍
R. H.
Excellent breakfast great staff would recommend to all
P. B.
Amazing carvery, so tasty, great quality and value. The other food looks delicious too. Lovely staff. Great family pub/ restaurant. I would highly recommend going here.
S. M.
The quantites of food were excessive although although the quality was good. There were too many staff walking around and people trying to find seats etc.
The car park was dirty and badly lit which rendered it dangerous. The staff were courteous but procedures were unclear and not obvious.
A. G.
It's good value, the meat (turkey) was excellent and succulent. The vegetables were hit and miss though. The mash and roast potatoes were tasteless, cauliflower was very nice. Rest of veg I can make just as nice at home.
J. S.
Plenty of parking. Lovely bar. Great food with plenty of choice and an amazing carvery. Brilliant desserts (treacle pudding and custard was delicious)! Friendly, helpful staff. Very reasonably priced. What more could you ask for?
E. F.
Called in in New Year's Day to watch the football, and they were showing another match. The staff were kind enough to put Wolves on one of the TV's for me. I'm very grateful.
Great value and quick service, when we have eaten here. Pizzas are great.
C. E.
The breakfast is good BUT, If you are willing to stand around for long periods waiting to be served. Then this is great. The staff who take your order are fantastic, and then they tell the kitchen staff you are going to the counter. This is where it goes wrong. Most of the time you are left waiting and waiting. Surely a bell from bar to kitchen is a simple solution to sort this. By the time you leave the bar and get to the counter there should be someone to take your ticket and give you a plate. Otherwise food is good.
P. B.
Good and friendly pub with wonderful staff
T. L.
Great place for a carvery, quite a few size options from small to XL. meats all cooked well, but the allergy menu isn't particularly up to date (lots of veg has butter on according to the menu, but doesn't actually have it) - Glaze on the beef sometimes has nuts in it.
Food quality reasonable, price very good!
L. B.
Food was good, very busy did have to chase the staff a bit but its what you would expect on a busy Sunday, will try during the week and see how that is.
S. S.
Good value for money, standard carvery. Burgers were great but chips were running low and roast potatoes were very pale. But at prices like these we were happy enough and left full!
S. F.
Made a VERY late booking for Christmas Day on behalf of several physical/learning disabled guys I support through my work. The staff could not have been kinder, either beforehand or on the day. We were treated like royalty, and the food was wonderful! Every credit to the Pig & Whistle and ALL their staff...
O. M.
Decent food, nice, fresh and plentiful. Just saw a customer leave their wallet by accident, staff found it and ran after him onto car park and returned it. He was very happy and the staff were very helpful. Well done guys.
A. B.
Great food and drink, friendly staff, great pub.
I. D.
Great place to eat for all the family, we go often as a group for the carvery which is excellent food and exceptional price. You can also get pizza cooked on site. Service is good and helpful, ample parking unless busy on weekend.
A. G.
The sunday carvery is perfect, anyone that can complain about this does not know good food, staff and pub are great.
I eat there every Sunday, I have tried many other places but they do not come up to the PIG AND WHISTLE standard.
Mr and Mrs Graham.
t. e.
Staff are friendly polite and go out of their way to help elderly diners my wife and l have visited 4 times in the last six weeks and although travelled 15 miles or so it is worth the effort. The food is good and value for money and the plates are warm,so we will be back b & j
J. R.
Very nice place to have something to and friendly staff
P. S.
Good breakfast, friendly staff.
D. P.
Even though we went at peak time on a Sunday, had a small wait time. When we got to our table is full replenished and clean si credit to the floor staff. Food was excellent all meats tried and tastey all the veggies was hot and plentiful, great experience. Will go again
s. O.
Well cooked lunch Staff helpfull I dropped tray of drinks helped clean up and replaced drinks many thanks food very good food will return well done pig and whistle
D. H.
Carvery could have been hotter. Nice thick hot gravy helped to warm the rest up. Pudding lovely. Service cheerfully all in all not bad at all
D. S.
Staff very friendly and attentive. Food was excellent and plenty of it. Very well priced. Not a lot of choice for puddings but I only like sundaes and banana splits! First visit. Will go again.
K. B.
Lovely, breakfast buffet👍
n. o.
Melissa was really helpful today 😁
A. L.
Really nice and friendly staff, felt very welcomed aswell. Food was lovely no complaints at all
V. S.
Brilliant staff and the pizzas are great too
J.
Visited here last night for the carvery, massive portions for the large meal, especially enjoyed the huge yorkshire pudding. My only complaint would be that the roast potatoes were underdone and the gammon quite salty but otherwise enjoyed the food
M. B.
Went for a late lunch today 3-15pm service was good and the food was very good lovely meat .what wasn't good it was only just Luke warm which was a shame 1of my mates said his was cold and won't go again so come on pig-whistle get your act together it should all be warm
M. F.
Carvery at a really great price, reasonable cuts of beef, pork, turkey and ham plus unlimited (really it is) veggies. The full Sunday roast any day of the week and all the trimmings. No nonsense, ridiculously cheap, deserts to match.
A little short on parking spaces, a bit of a queue for the food, but really can't grumble, not haut cuisine but homely stuff.
A. L.
Had a small carvery for two at less than a tenner. Great choice of vegetables and potatoes. Will call again. Fab!
U. C.
Found food to be good although we had to wait for fish & the chips and peas had not been topped up. Best part was the service. We were offered table service as a group - Joey was fantastic - it's good for big lunch
A. H.
Cheap Carvery but fuller menu for other things good overall food - a bit noisy due to crowded state but that's to be expected. I will come back here again soon. I had the Calzone and it's absolutely HUGE. My recommendation is to ask for a couple small cups of marinara (tomato) sauce and you're loving it!
D. E.
The finest carvery I've had in years. Ok so the Yorkshire Puddings were bought in but the beef and gammon was perfect. The roast potatoes were crispy, the cauliflower cheese "Cheezey" and the mash potatoes very real without too much butter / milk. Best £24 pounds I've spent in ages (For 3). Go and be a bit surprised.
C. P.
Went in earlier today, got 2 carverys one with gravy, when sitting down we noticed the gravy smelt like ash, my boyfriend tried to eat this but ended up leaving it all, we ordered dessert and told a member of staff who just said "ye sorry there was a problem with the gravy, thanks" and walked away, not telling us what the problem was in case we had allergies, they knew before we mentioned it and didnt tell customers who had already had that gravy! also never said do you want another or money back as we paid for food we didnt eat at the fault of pig and whistle not our own
my food was very nice as i didn't have the gravy and the dessert was very nice
S. C.
Was OK I guess wasn't too bad
J. R.
Service a bit slow ham was dry but turkey great staff nice
B. G.
Beautiful food always excellent quality staff always friendly and always helpful. Great for families too
V. E.
Love it here, the food is always so tasty and hot, I really don't know how they do it. They never run out either! Nice atmosphere and good for families
M. B.
Busy, nice atmosphere. It's clean and well looked after. Food is what you'd expect from a pub chain with a good varied menu. Heaps of parking and some outdoor seating.
R. R.
All you can eat, it was as expected, definitely not the worse. When you need a breakfast at the right price
J. C.
Sunday Roast ...
Very Busy ..but lots of Carvery Counter ...Today I had Roast Ham
Delicious
A. K.
Great food. Fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. Had a burger and kids had pizza. Definitely recommend. Btw. I've been to other Sizzling pubs and this one's best. Thank you!
R. B.
Really good carvery, good service, nice atmosphere, not expensive either, going again soon
J. K.
I came today with my brother and sister for a festive menu the meats were easy to cut and tasty and the potatoes and vegetables were hot and plentiful with lots of choice there was no cranberry sauce but one of the waitresses told us to go to our table and no sooner had we sat down there was a saucer of cranberry on our table the Christmas pudding and brandy sauce went down a treat the staff and meal could not be faulted thank you for an enjoyable festive meal
H. M.
Great place, quite at 1300 when we went. Staff friendly. Downside food was luke warm. Still edible tho.
R. W.
Very quiet for a Saturday night. Beer and service good though. Didnt have any food.
T. G.
Twice I have ordered and whilst the food is lovely. It does say 4 meats.. So where is the pork? Very dissapointed. Dont put it on the menu if its not available. 3 stars for not stating this isnt available.
B. W.
Great carvery, and the staff are very polite and helpful, we arrived whilst the Corona limitations where in place, and they still found a table for us and provided us with a lovely meal.
L. A.
Very good quality food for price. I come quite regularly
p. t.
We went for breakfast but just got there too late so had brunch, staff were great (Chelsea)couldn't do enough for you, will definitely try again and highly recommend this place
F. G.
Not been to the pig and whistle before but found it to be a pleasant surprise, had the carvery and the meat very tasty and tender also proper roast potatoes ! The service was very friendly and we will definately visit again.
P. H.
Brilliant Night, could not have been better. Upon arrival we where greeted by possibly the happiest bar tender I've ever come across. He explained everything clearly, fetched our drinks in a flash and we were then ready to do battle with the beast that is the epic carvery.
I can honestly say The Pig and Whistle offers one of the best carverys out there, we opted for the large which provides extra meat..and had a little bit of everything including a Very generous 4 yorkshires each! (Carrots, Peas, Cauliflower, Yorkshire Puds, Roast Potato, Mashed Potato, Oodles of Gravy, Sausages, Roast Pork, Turkey or Chicken and Roast Beef)
Everything was cooked perfectly and we where stuffed like little piggies by the end...we still had room to share a chocizza for dessert of course.
All the staff where attentive, Friendly and super professional and the restaurant was sparkling clean.
Do not miss this...and its always going to be better than cooking yourself.
J. S.
Food wasn't too bad not much meat on the plate but you do get a choice between beef chicken and gammon or a small slice of each .
Good choice of vegetables and sauces overall 3 out of 5 stars
C. J.
Awesome outstanding place for breakfast, infact second to none!! Bit stingy on the carvery side with the meat though. Pizza's are good too. The outside area could benefit from a huge referb I.e more area for non smoking Patriots. In all a great place to go though.
p. W.
Limited to slices of meats little pair slice like children portion !! I suppose you pay for what you get!!very Limited 👇
D. B.
Great food very friendly staff as much vegetables as you like
A. B.
Great place and staff work there bk sides of....just wished they would deliver to us...says to far we would be happy to warm it up..we always bring some bk when we go....and start of blacpool rd could be managed x
A. c. s.
Food was good with a good selection of meat from the carvery, however I was a bit disappointed that they had no sweet corn or parsnips.
Wished I never ordered the the dirty fries with my carvery as I was bloated, oh loved the bottomless ice cream.
J. F.
Staff friendly enough, decent portions.
Table hadn't been cleaned
G. P.
Had good roast lunch beef very tender meat and excellent choice of vegetables. Very friendly staff, drink bit expensive 2.25 for diet coke but pot of tea for 2 reasonable would recommend a visit.
A. H.
Now carvery does not include chips which were very popular. Taken off the offering for some reason.
z. g.
Very impressed they fit us In without booking unlike the farmers Arms.. food same as always!
s. v.
Lovely meal
Great portion sizes
Excellent service
Exceptionally patient with 2 small children at the carvery counter.
P. C.
Great food varied menu affordable pricing happy to revisit anytime if it isn't to your liking, the chef's do their utmost to please.
B. H.
We have been to the Pig and Whistle today and I would like to say what a nice pub to dine in The Carvery area was nice and clean with very friendly staff nice food I cannot fault this pub I will certainly return.
Both myself and my husband said we would not go to a Crown again cos The Tramways in Cleveleys was terrible.
M.
First time back after this awful year. The food was great. Had the carvery
C. D.
The food was faultless but it was really busy needed another person behing the food counter
P. B.
Nice selection of meats on the carvery even during a week day, veggies were really fresh, cheap drinks and food.
Decor a little tired in places but wouldn't hesitate to go back
G. K.
An absolutely excellent venue to enjoy a wonderful meal from the freshly prepared and very tasty traditional English curvey or something else from the plenty of choice appetising dishes on the main menu while relaxing with your favourite beverage into the friendliness, casual, pleasant and tranquil environment, all at a very reasonable cost 🎶😉
M. F.
Its ok if you are a meat eater (I know its a carvery!) they used to do a cheese and onion pie option, but recently when I went in they have stopped, I felt a bit daft sat there with just spuds n veg! yes they have Vegetarian dishes on the menu, but when you are with a group of people wanting the carvery it makes it hard work.
C. C. V.
Fantastic value for money top quality carverys. Fill your plates
l. H.
From Australia and loved it.. xxxxx
A. W.
Pleasant pub good food
K. B.
Recently undergone a make over. However now it feels over priced for what you get. Food quality can vary from very good to average. Since changing the seating has reduced, plate sizes are smaller.
L. F.
Great carvery, such friendly staff, clean, good ambiance
S. M.
I had the carvery, it was very good as usual, would have given five stars but the toilets are in need of some TLC, a few of them needed to be flushed, maybe an hourly check system would sort this out, the hand dryers are temperamental, and there is a lot of graffiti scratched on the back of the toilet doors.
M. S.
The food is always great. The staff at this restaurant are very likely the best with the chain.
P. S.
Been coming here for many years. Always satisfied good prices great carvery and following covid guidelines correctly.
S. N.
Great food plenty of parking excellent value for money.
H. H.
Although very busy, the staff made a table for 9 available very quickly which was much appreciated, thank you. We all enjoyed the carvery and will come again soon.
L. H. C.
Friendly and polite, good food, great price
D. M.
The staff are amazing so helpful nothing is to much trouble for them. Food good lovely carvery best we have been to in the area.Value for money.
S. M.
Good food, friendly and helpful staff. I was given a take out tray, for what I was unable to eat. Nothing was wasted on our table!
J. P.
Food is usually very nice and my son loves the pizzas as won't eat the carvery.
Staff are usually very helpful and will try to help with any request.
J. M.
Staff lovely and friendly. Unfortunately food was cold
V. D.
Food was lovely and fresh not over cooked, could have as much or as little as you liked.great value for money and child friendly.will be going back
A. P.
Food was delicious as usual. 8 of us dining. chelsi behind the bar was brilliant nothing was too much trouble. Definitely be returning soon.
M. K.
Good customer service and good food
r. p.
Excellent carvery as normal and the pizza looked good too
M. P.
I did not dine here just a quick drink, the pub was clean and well organized. I would return for food the menu seemed good
L. B.
Okay for a lazy Sunday lunch... but the pork was tough, the cauliflower not cheesy, the vet watery and the condiments sparse. Staff were very pleasant though.
t. k.
Excellent value for dining family friendly staff
P. P.
Cheap as chips. I know people have complained about the decor, service etc. But when you are paying 3.99 for a full roast dinner you have to realistically expect that you aren't going to get service like the Ritz. It's a great place and well worth the money.
C. G.
Good food at a reasonable price. Staff friendly.
j. g.
Value for and great Sunday dinner Carvery.Good, pleasant service.Needs a little makeover here and there though👍😁
S. W.
Excellent Sunday carvery, Charlene was amazing and looked after our family of 4. Highly recommended. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.
G. C.
Love this place, staff are always friendly and welcoming, food is great - always been great for carvery but now the Stonehouse pizza is amazing too, highly recommended!
A. H. C.
Lovely Atmosphere and good food. Will visit again
l. H.
The service was brilliant from all the staff. And the food was lovely I would recommend as it is also very good value for money
A. L.
Good food, good service, family had a carvery which was good quality food for the price.
A. R.
Carvery was good ,but the pizza side a definite no the man making the pizza didn't wash hands, picked his nose and the whole place needs a deep clean.
j. b.
Standard pub grub carvery very good value would go again
F. A.
Went for a birthday meal with family. Very good service by all. Food excellent. Nice and clean.
m. f.
Always enjoy the food and staff very friendly and helpful
W. W.
Good carvery. Some veg a bit soggy but I'm not too fussy. Not a lot of healthy choice on main menu. Pretty a average all round
K. B.
Bloody good carvery ,friendly and good customer service
B. T.
Excellent value excellent food excellent staff. Always eat to much. But love it.
C. I.
Pleasant atmosphere, reasonable value for money. Range / choice of vegetables was rather limited - there used to be more than peas, carrots & cauliflower hence only 3 stars.
G. W.
Excellent food and service. Pig out at the carvery! And the ice cream is yummy too. Highly recommended place to have a good scran and a pint.
I. S.
Wonderful pub with brilliant atmosphere
J. W.
Wonderful and friendly staff, food always good, going back again next week. Great value for money.
G. J.
Had fish instead of carvery and not disappointed. Freshly cooked fish had beautifully thin and crispy batter. Another cracking meal at the P&W.
N. H.
Stopped hear on our way to blackpool for breakfast,as we were seated we heard a table saying i can't eat that 😲,shall we go🤔,yehh let's go get a refund 😬,we were put off straight away from that but stayed anyway as some people are can be fussy 🤷♀️,but wish we had left with them 😂 as it was awful, for a start ya have to pay for mushrooms 😯,bacon was soggy raw, sausages looked pink inside 😬,felt sick once we left, only good thing they have fried bread 😋
J. T.
Great carvery with traditional home cooked feel and excellent value
J. W.
Carvery and pizzas are excellent. Good seating and parking available and staff always friendly. Been going here for year's. Thoroughly recommend.
a. h.
Thoroughly recommend this place, dined in a few days ago and everything great, then tried the takeaway service tonight, brilliant service and food with really helpful staff, 5 stars all round!!!
l. c.
Good food and pleasant staff, please bring back the FULL breakfast though! Was better beforehand, seems a bit penny pinching to have to pay extra for mushrooms etc
D. L.
Food is always very good. The staff are always happy and friendly.
Glad you're back!
G. N.
Good choice of food. Feels strange having to collect your food once you've ordered it (if you're not having the Carvery). Would be better if it was brought to the table.
V. H.
Lovin' the new referb guys!! Here for my dad's birthday ! Loving your new starters yummy!! We are now fans of the frickles and corn dogs! Fab and friendly staff! Great atmosphere! ! We have always been a pig and whistle fans but you guys have smashed it! Well played carvery well played! 😊
S. W.
Great place for your Sunday lunch or any day of the week for that matter make sure your hungry when you go for the carvery staff friendly as well
S. M.
Great food, very different service collecting your own food but the food was outstanding! Just needs waiters and waitresses to be on their toes with collecting plates.
F. B.
Fabulous daily carvery, you really can not find better for the price. Excellent for a lunchtime treat away from the office. Thumbs up!
P. B.
Great Sunday carvery
M. F.
Food was OK, think they were a little understaffed when we went ,but it was father's day.
A. D.
Very busy pub, managed to a table that wasn't reserved. Considering how busy it was the staff were very patient. Carvery was very good and the beer was decent too.
W. C.
Beef was cooked to perfection. The only thing is the tables could have been cleaner. Food was first class for the price
J. P.
We went for breakfast this morning, my husband really enjoyed his, I have been once before and it was just as good, definitely great value for money.
S. K.
Had a very nice carvery, food wasn't dry at all & very tasty , not like some carveries you visit. Think it was because the food counter wasn't over heated.
P. C.
Good set of choices for the carvery, although food could have been hotter. Well priced.
w. w.
Excellent food and service would recommend
M.
Great staff and a nice atmosphere. The food was excellent and great value for money
d. h.
Excellent carvery, chef very entertaining. Made it a very good evening , good food and plenty of it.
s. H.
Cracking food and good that you get pizza ect and can add chips salad beans whatever on the stand. Grandson got chicken nuggets then we added when they was ready what we wanted on .

The food is always good and fairly priced to. I like the fact it has a bit of something going on later on. Always bump into someone I know and end up having a good time.

Local to me. Had breakfast, far too many carbohydrates available. Greasy spoon food with cushions. Lunch and dinner a much better choice and quality.

Lovely food and some of the staff were friendly up until the moment my partner went and polity asked for a espresso and the woman behind the bar started being snotty and sarcastic.
