V. W. (.Now that it has been refurbished and gas changed its name to the slug and lettuce what a difference!!!! The place is beautiful so refreshing. The seating areas now are so much better organized and clean lines. The bar is very well stocked and brighter. The food was lovely. Very impressed indeed. Good luck Jack and Abby you do a fantastic job keep up the great work XXX😁😁😁

A. B.Name has changed, found the drinks way overpriced compared to when it was formally Yates. The decor is nice inside but feel like they're trying to cater to a different type of person. Not really for me anymore.
D. S. W.This is now Slug n Lettuce which was a great atmosphere albeit very bust but that was because it only opened that weekend. Great selection for cocktails and drinks. This is a large place so should get seating when eating but may be different on a Friday or Saturday night. But definitely worth a visit.
K. F.Might be good for a cocktail during Happy Hour as the decor is good but £11.20 for two pints of Camden Hells is a bit steep for a pub in Preston so I wouldn't recommend to beer drinkers.
R. 7.I’ve managed to get to my grand old age without ever visiting a Yates - we came here as a last resort as everywhere else was too busy, but it was ok. The cocktails were reasonably priced and really good (recommend the purple rain!). However, the toilets really need sorting out (ladies). I went into four different cubicles before I found one that locked - the toilets also had a sign to say they were checked every hour, but from the state they were in, that’s definitely not true.
Overall a decent experience, but please please do something about the locks!!

F.Had a really great first post covid time here. Met a friend for food and drinks and the service was fab , everything was quick and it was very covid secure. Will definitely be back again soon. The staff we encountered ( Vicky, Sophie and Matt) were really great and helpful too.
G. J.Quiet Thursday afternoon, Covid measures in place, service a bit slow considering number of customers. Ordered a portion of chips with our drinks which were ok. Nothing really stands out as special here. Was ok for a quiet drink.

T. F.Went for breakfast, can't recommend this place enough. Free coffee, tea or orange juice with your breakfast (providing it's from the breakfast menu) and the quality of food is great from my experience. Bacon and egg muffin and sausage and egg muffins are my go to from this menu, the highly recommend anyone to give them a try.
Ended up staying in town and meeting family on the same day, turned out they wanted to come to Yates for food too as it's located near bus stops so it's easy to travel to and from if that is important to you. We had a sharing board platter and let me tell you, it was AWESOME.
3 items for £7.99 or 5 items for £10.29 (or less in some circumstances) is the price of the sharing boards, which is great for value in my opinion when you see the amount of portions you get. I was pleasantly full after my meal. You don't even need to get different items, you can double up on the same food if you wish. Love that.

Great service, all members of staff very helpful and friendly. Even though it was quiet, staff were still busy.
Couldn't fault the food for what we paid. Atmosphere was good, nice mix of customers in, decent music on.
Excellent place for a cheap lunch and a drink.
L. S.Came in saturday night, wasn't to busy but still great atmosphere! Great music from the dj, service was fast enough. Heads up for the girl on the door till!! Recommended some ace cocktails and wasn't a miserable sack like most door staff usually are! Will certainly be coming back!
M. J.Average run of the mill bar not bad but also not great , gets too busy as it is quite small and the prices aren't that cheap. All in all completely missable especially later on at night when they try charging you to get in. The smoking area and the beer garden kind of make up for the poor points.
T. P.Food was delicious. I ordered steak and was cooked to perfection..medium rare. My fiance ordered Bombay burger which he said was very nice. The food was served very quickly. Definitely would recommend.

A. P.Fab place for dancing and drinking. Staff brilliant. The only downside to the place is the ladies toilets. They are a disgrace, never any toilet roll in the toilets, not clean around the sinks. Girl in the toilets sat down doing nothing. Come on get someone in to sort them out.

Good friendly staff generally efficient as long as you give them a good smile at the bar at busy periods... No one will serve you if you're waving cash at them like they're a prostitute looking for business.

A. B.Yates always consistently good, food, atmosphere, day time really relaxed so it's fine to bring the kids.. kids to be out by 7pm witch is great because you can send them home and have a drink of one of the amazing range of cocktails. .lol I kid but you get my point. .
L. T.I like this place, does what it says on the tin, a big bar with a good range of cheap drinks. Can usually have a good dance at night too. Not a fancy place but it's alright.

F.While me and my mother were out my mother fell and potentially broke her leg, a staff member called Marc came straight away to help and allowed her to rest her leg on the chair provided coffee and sugar along with an ice pack while she was in a lot of pain and even provided his jacket when she was cold and offered to help her inside. When our ride came he helped her into the car. Needless to say we're very grateful to Marc and the establishment and will be very willing to come back knowing we can put our trust in the staff.
P.S. give Marc a raise, he certainly goes above and beyond at his job and works very hard. He deserves it.

Totally miserable looks on their faces, they are not aware who needs to be served first and there are flies everywhere. In addition, I've just been brought my food which has just been dumped on the table. They either need re-training or chuffin sacked. Not even been asked if my fodder is ok fcukin part timers. Id like to choose 0 for service but ratings won't let you. Ive just finished and I've now been asked if my food is ok???? Jokers

B. S.I've been to Yates in Bolton, Bury, Manchester and beyond - a polite way of describing the brand is 'rustic', or slightly 'Jeremy Kyle Guest-friendly'. The Preston one is probably the best one I've been to, which is hard to say as I'm a true Boltoner.
