We visited Ye Olde Hob Inn as we were staying nearby and it looked nice. The pub itself was cosy and welcoming, friendly staff and nice decor, seating and ambience. Lots of choice of traditional meals. Service was friendly and quick. The starters (mushrooms and white bait) were delicious and large portions. The mains (cheese pie and beef and Guinness pie) were so tasty, again, large portions and the sides (chips, gravy and veg) complimented so well. Would definitely come again if in the area.

Lovely surroundings and decor. Very friendly staff. Food much to be desired. We had the Carvery ; the chicken tough and the beef chewy. Not a good selection of vegetables and no choice like other carverys where you put your own on, very limited. Not good value for money. Not a place that I would eat again, we wasn't even asked how our meal was, they must have known not to ask!!! There are better carvery and cheaper. Nice on a summers day with a pint without food.

This is the 1st time, that we,ve managed to get over to try it. Was highly recommended by the Premier Inn staff & boy were were in for a treat. Both the gammon steaks were cooked to perfection, the rest was just as good. Ace was spotless. We'll be back.

Went here for a birthday celebration. It was quiet as we went on an earlier weekday for lunch, so it was nice not to be too busy. We ordered drinks first whilst we looked over the menu. The staff member serving us was bright and very chatty. She recommended a lovely wine for me and also the meal choice I eventually made. I ordered the buttermilk chicken burger which arrived with lovely chunky chips, chilli jam and salad. My friends and partner had standard burger with a side if bacon, gammon steak and fish and chips. Everything was piping hot and arrived fairly quickly. We all enjoyed our meals however, my birthday bestie was a little disappointed in the dessert menu as there wasn't a great choice and decided to forgo, which was a shame. Not sounding complainy but, there was a point where the lady serving us was a bit too familiar. She hung around a bit more than I liked, as we were trying to have a conversation. Don't get me wrong, I loved the service but there comes a point where a bit more professionalism should be observed. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.

The burger named after themselves was impeccable, the sweet chili relish served with it was probably the best I've had, and if you like ginger, you'll love the ginger cake with ginger ice cream. If you have kids, it's worth bringing them here to tell them the story of the Battle of Bamber Bridge, which kicked off here in 1943. It was America vs America on British soil. Then, when they have to write about a WW2 battle in school, they can write about something different. The teacher will be pleased she gets to read something different which should bump them up a grade.

Very cosy pub. Took a chance without booking a table but no problem. Good choice on the menu. We ordered sandwiches and a burger. They all came with chips and a side salad. The food was excellent and plentiful. The staff are friendly and service good. This pub is dog friendly which is great for us. Will definitely be back.

Once, long ago, before the dark times of covid and media indoctrination, I used to visit this Inn regularly with an old friend of mine. When covid began his heart appointment was postponed. He died in March 2020. This is the first time I've been back to the Hobb since and I'd forgotten how much we, as humans, need such interactions. I was only there for a couple of pints but it was lovely. It had table service due to the covid restrictions which was actually a nice thing. The beautiful surroundings of this thatched Inn was illuminated by the setting sun and every patron was happy and friendly. The lager I had was a surprise. Strong, quite fragrant and delicious, I can't remember the name of it, beaverhausen or something similar but I'd recommend it. All in all - excellent service, excellent drinks, beautiful surroundings and well worth a visit.

Not been since it had reopened and decided to try whilst taking advantage of the eat out to help out discount. Food was great, service was average but very worried about hygiene, especially during COVID. Sanitiser dispenser at entrance was useless, quite rightly a gentleman was asked to move as he was only drinking and seated at a table for 8 in the restaurant, the issue was he had been sat there for over an hour and the table was not wipped down before new people were shown to the table, it would have taken less than a minute and is so important in the current climate. Nobody taking note of one way system so maybe better signs are needed. I booked a table so I provided my contact details but I couldn't see any book to sign in, that I have completed at other venues. So although the food was good I will not feel safe eating here again.

Superb food, first visit to the olde hob, me and the girlfriend came here for a nice bit of pub grub, girlfriend ordered a veggie burger and I had the 8oz rump, so so good! Best steak I’ve had in such a long time, perfectly cooked how I asked, fresh food, neither of us could fault it, very friendly staff also. Very good hearty pub food. Never review places either, nice one.

The food here is very good, loved their cheese and onion croquettes. The staff are also great, helpful and polite. Shame about a particular customer swearing loudly and trying to wind someone up but he quietened down after a while.

This is a real find! The refurbishment has retained the key features of this ancient thatched building. Tasteful decor & and cosy atmosphere. Genuinely warm welcome from friendly & attentive team. Excellent menu. The Veggie Burger was excellent, stacked high with tasty mushrooms, peppers & hallumi; and the Guiness & steak pie is strongly recommended!

Absolutely Great Pub!! Recommend it to anyone. Food is delicious and plenty of drinks to choose from. The pub is child friendly durind the day and also dog friendly. One of my favourite pubs and lunch spots locally.

A great place for just a drink or something to eat, it is quite dark inside but it is full or character. They do allow well behaved dogs inside but there is also a good amount of seating outside. Prices are excellent for what you get all round good place with friendly atmosphere.

We recently went for a meal at Hob Inn Bamber Bridge. I believe the chef is a one man band and deserves total recognition for his work I had the hot pot and my husband had the chicken supreme. I can honestly say the hot pot is to die for, I have never tasted anything like it, the meat melts in your mouth. The vanilla cheesecake is from a different planet - heaven I'm sure. 100% worth every penny and mouthful, also thanks to James for all the running round keeping bar and restaurant customers happy all at once.

On first impressions it was a a nice looking country thatched pub in the middle of Bamber Bridge with various activities during the week and the landlady is going to do a total refurb in January 2020 so it is well worth a visit
