S. O.Milk is a lovely venue, tucked away just off of Friar Street and a stone's throw from Reading station. Staff have always been extremely welcoming every time I've been in. A lot of care and thought has been put into their cocktails and menu, which is clear from how amazing each drink I've had there has been. Milk is definitely Reading's best and only independent cocktail bar, which is why so many people go back time and time again after their first visit.

J. M.We went to Milk on Saturday evening January 22nd. We do go regularly, but have never taken the time to review, so here goes. Milk is one of the last bastions of Reading’s independent bar scene, specialising in rum & rum based cocktails, but using their excellent knowledge of both cocktails & spirits they can pretty make whatever it is you may fancy. They host great evenings & DJ nights playing a range of styles - check out their socials.
The bar is always welcoming & I can totally recommend for couples & friends alike.

R.I love Milk bar. It's one of the truly unique spots in Reading. Inventive drinks with friendly and responsive service. I think my recollection is that they're vegan friendly too, they've got a bunch of different replacements for things like eggs and dairy products.

A. R.I held my husband's 30th birthday here and it was absolutely amazing! From the start of organising the party (over two months prior) the team was extremely helpful and attentive. During the night they made sure everyone felt welcomed and that they were having a good time. Guests loved the vibe, the staff and, most importantly, the food and drink! Organising all of this was very easy with the help of Connie. Thanks again for a great night!

S. K.This is simply a great bar. The atmosphere, drinks, and service run absolutely effortlessly, which I’m sure means there’s a hell of a lot going on behind the scenes! Andy in particular (bald and bearded) was fantastic and went out of his way to recommend some really great rums when I visited with my dad - who loved it. Will definitely be back!

M. E.I love rum, and this place is just fantastic if you do. The bar serves over 100 types of rum and loads of cocktails of varying types. It's one of Reading's most relaxed bars, in a quirky venue in the roof of an old barn style building. The music is mixed and very good, the DJs play songs rather than mixes and it works well. The clientele tend to be friendly and we nearly always find ourselves sharing tables with people and chatting a bit. The main barman really knows his stuff and is happy to recommend things. You won't find pints, but they do have bottled beers if you don't fancy the harder stuff.

G.One of the AYL? Festival venues. Intimate, as in really small, first floor venue with well stocked bar serving up amazing looking cocktails.
D. W.Shed downstairs by day, Milk upstairs by night. Thankfully not another big corporate bar. Fabulous cocktails and rum bar, with some unusual cocktails and interesting rums. They do discounts on weekdays. As tempting as it may be to go for a long drink, the smaller cocktails tend to be better in our opinion, as they aren't swamped with sweet fruit juice. If you've not been here and like cocktails, this bar is worth seeking out this local gem.

P. M.Great, tucked away, gem of a place! The bar staff and music combine to make a great atmosphere, perfect for a chilled out one with a couple of pals. I've also been to loads of the dj nights and a couple of the comedy ones. Great vibes all round. Saving the rum til last....as it really is the best. Great selection and well informed staff on hand to offer suggestions. Definitely my favourite bar in Reading.

J. *.Milk (formerly Afrobar) has gone from strength to strength since Tim took over Management some years ago and created Milk. Always amazing, talented staff behind the bar and friendly on the door, a phenomenal selection of rums & great cocktail menu. A regular comedy night takes place plus a wide selection of DJ's play many nights to provide a lovely ambience as you unwind. One of my favourite ever places. Enjoy!
C. G.The bar is well located and the happy hour prices are very good. Even on a Friday at 6pm it's not that busy so you can easily get a drink. The cocktails in the happy hour deal aren't anything special to be honest, and there's not much choice so it would be good for a few extra cocktails to be included in happy hour. Apart from that (which let's be honest, isn't exactly a major problem), a good place to go.
A. G.Milk bar and Shed is honestly once of the nicest food based places in reading, the service is always fantastic everyone I've been there and the atmosphere is wonderful. To speak of the food, I've never had a problem and I've taken many people here who are always impressed by the quality. It may be a little pricy but I don't mind that at all for the quality you get. I frequently get the pastrami sandwich on sourdough and I will continue to do so in the future because I love me some pastrami. It's quite small and usually quite busy and down a sketchy alley but it's well worth the trip
