B. B.I honestly love everything about this pub the staff are so pretty especially Georgia and Emily they should be models. I love the gins and the wines. The pub has a beautiful smell. Also the male manger is quite fit I think his name is Corie. Overall this pub is better than spoons and wehtherspoons. GREAT PUB!!!!!!

The decor has been updated, downstairs is lovely and warm- wood, leather, paneling etc- and this makes it feel like a cosy welcoming space.
The drinks deals are good, reasonably priced. I've not tried the food since it's had the spruce up but the menu looks good.
The only downsides, and you can understand why, given the cost of the equipment, is you need to pay to use the shuffleboard/ for pool cues.
The events they run every so often are fun- there's a good comedy night on sometimes. They have good music choices on through the evenings, too.
Not sure what they need to do to drum up more liveliness but it would be such a vibe if it was a bit busier!
A. R.Location and Food is of top notch, Service is just average. The pub is competitively priced and serves much better than it's nearby peers. The pub has a large banquet hall space overlooking the Kennet canal. The gentlemen washroom needs some refurbishing as it looks old, however they are generally clean. The pub is mostly crowded during the evening and also gets good numbers during the lunch time due to it's proximity to the big office's.

Particularly want to commend their approach to allergies: I mentioned my tomato allergy and not only was the tomato removed from the burger I ordered, but they even came over and checked about putting the salsa on the side of the shared nachos we ordered! I unfortunately didn't get the name of the person who did this, but wanted to say thank you to them for this :) Recommend!

s. g.Should definitely pop in here for a bite to eat or a quick drink. This time of year the location is it's biggest feature with a balcony right on the river decorative plants etc. Menu choices could be a bit more inviting but still offer classics. The drinks bar is huge and sure not to disappoint. Good nice decor, pool table and more seating downstairs. Toilets (ladies) could do with some touch ups. Overall nice place

J. B.Myself and my family came in and booked previously via the phone with a gentleman who was extremely helpful and told me all my options before coming. I booked the tables I wanted and before arriving the staff members had put reserve signs on the tables which I found lovely! They also decorated the tables Christmassy and was extremely festive. They had already put the cutlery wrapped in napkins on the table which was also lovely !! I feel as if this was the best Christmas dinner experience we have ever had outside of the house in years! The kids enjoyed themselves the whole time!! They was playing pool and a gentleman who worked there let them play of the shuffle board!! I found this really polite and would recommend going for a festive experience!!!

I came here with my partner, everyone wa a extremely welcoming! Greeted us when we came in and thank you when we left! The whole pub staff was very nice. We had a meal I had lasagne and my other half had hunters chicken and they brought it over with a massive smile on their faces making sure we had the best service possible, bringing over our cutlery also. After about five minutes of having the food they came and asked if everything was ok with the food and wondered if we needed anymore sauce or drinks which I found very lovely as you don’t usually see this within other pubs when they come over they don’t usually offer drinks. We come here quite often and always are welcomed. I was asking them about which flavoured vodkas they do and they told me about the flavours and also added about the sambuca flavours, which she was trying to show me the variety of drinks with different flavours they had. Just like I asked! I found my experience extremely good and welcoming! The food was delicious and I couldn’t fault this pub with anything and I’m always returning now!!!

m. T.The outlook really is on its way up. Since reopening there has been a lot of changes, the drinks selection is extremely wide and the back bar displays are magnificent. The food is delicious especially the sausage and mash with the caramelised onion chutney, amazing! Our favourite thing about this place is that the staff are like no other, always really nice and happy.

A special mention to imogen who made us feel very welcome as new to the area but overall all the staff were so welcoming. I ordered the fish and chips and was delish better than my local chippy! K.Really nice pub looking out onto the canal waterway behind through curved glass windows. In a time where pubs are either made pretentious and 'gastro', meaning that their atmosphere is awful and people sullen and miserable, this pub is still a warm, friendly and proper pub. The food is good rustic pub food (probably because it is a Greene King pub) which is few and far between nowadays! The waiters/waitresses are always nice and friendly, and there is a nice veranda to sit out on with plants looking out over the canal. There is a downstairs room for functions which has a nice outside section. All in all it is a pub which should be supported more, as it is in a lovely setting and is a nice atmosphere!
I don't understand why more people don't go to be honest.

I have never felt more welcomed by staff, each member was happy to answer any questions me and my friends had, be it about the menu or any recommendations. The overall atmosphere in the building is overwhelmingly positive and the service was beyond exceptional.
Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic I felt extremely safe in this pub. Walking in a staff member informed me of the rules to abide by (scanning a code and following a one-way system, etc.) with clarity and respect (a refreshing contrast to the more condescending approach I experience in other pubs). Seats and tables were separated from other customers and close interaction with staff was done behind a screen.
I have absolutely found my new favourite pub at The Outlook , its location is central (on a main road so we just walked there) and the building is spacious. My main reason to recommend this pub is still undoubtedly the amazing service the staff provided when I was there.
If you are ever in the area and are looking for place to grab good food or even just a pint: Definitely choose this pub.

H. 0.We tend to come here for Karaoke every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month. Great fun. The staff are friendly and the DJ is top notch. I will continue going way into the foreseeable future. The food looks good although I haven't had food there yet and there's a great selection of drinks.

Its a good place for family and friends but there are other places closer to town. But if your out and about on the Kings road area not a bad place. Good staff but just needs something.

V.Instead of saying their grill was broken they took the order for a steak (normally chargrilled) and served what was obviously fried in a pan or on a flat grill. I've eaten here before and it was OK but between the over cooked, burnt chips and soggy onion rings this was by far my worst visit here in a long time. Huge disappointment. Always great for drinks with a good atmosphere though
