Reviews of The Duke Of Wellington
K.
A proper english, rustic country pub in a beautiful old wooden beamed building with a large pub garden out the back which leads into another big garden with a swings and slides etc for the children ! Nice relaxed atmosphere and mix of different types of people. And most importantly a good selection of nice dogs to say hello to! 🤩🤩🤩
We went here to watch the Lions Match and they have screens up everywhere for people who are interested in it. Very easy to see the screens if you are watching sport.
The wooden beams, wooden floor and wooden everything inside makes you feel instantly at home and comfortable in a proper country pub. The building is lovely and the outside area is big and very fun. After 4 when foood stops being served you can get food from the turkish van next to the pub, and they allow you to bring it in the pub.

Went to the pub with a group of friends had a great time. Also had lots of children with us. And the play Area was good to but the only thing I would say. It would be nice to have some seating area down there to sit and keep an eye on the children when they are playing.

A decent pub, friendly bar man, friendly regulars, good choice of real ales, and especially important; the beer was in very good condition! They show the sport and have a functional beer garden. My only criticism is the benches outside were quite wobbly and the peeling paint came off on my arm. Will definitely be back.

Fantastic new Landlords into there second week now, the place looking refreshed and the addition of many new drinks, including spirits, lagers and ales, a new pool table in the back bar and food and events on the way, exciting times for this much loved village pub 👌

We had a drink before going on to the restaurant. It was a very good start to the evening by seating in their beer garden.

Great new owners, beers cater for enjoyers and just pubgoers. Lovely long beer garden too.
R. W.
Lovely place - staff are friendly, the locally-sourced ales are tasty, and the garden out the back is splendid on a bright sunny day!
C. Y.
Great pub and we were very fortunate that the weather allowed us to sit in the outdoor beer garden and watch the chamipons league final between Tottenham and Liverpool
M.
It was a good place to stop for a couple of pints before heading for a curry. Friendly and helpful staff. The pub also seems to welcome dogs, as there were large and small ones at all times.

The Duke has been refurbished by the current landlord to a very high standard. It is really clean, the staff are attentive and abide by the new Covid guidelines brilliantly.
I would highly recommended the Duke for families and friends who wish to catch up following the recent restrictions.
A lovely, friendly atmosphere has been restored at this historical village pub.

Nice atmosphere and good beer. A traditional pub.

My local. A little-ish pub that does quite a lot.
Good food (I believe they rent out their kitchen and it has recently changed), local crowd, and excellent provision for watching sports. Excellent lounge bar also for when you want to hide from the screens. Huge and sunny beer garden. Could do with a greater selection of non-alcoholic beers.
S. M.
Great pub. Friendly and accurately priced. Have a pint and random chat with a local. Good Times!
S. C.
Good pub, sometimes closes early
A. S.
Nice large area out the back, dogs allowed. Unfortunately its shutting down in 2 weeks as there is just not enough punters! Shame!
J. K.
Nice friendly local. Glad to see it back open again.

Recently moved to Twyford. By a country mile this is THE best pub in Twyford! Family and dog friendly and the owners are the loveliest ever. Garden is HUGE... with a massive outdoor green space right out the back and then a huge garden down the steps with amazing play equipment for the little ones. Great range of drinks and the hubby loves the live sports. Atmosphere over the World Cup was something else with the large outdoor screen! we’ve made new friends and are so lucky to have The Duke at the heart of our village.

Superb village pub with friendly staff and great beers. Busy at weekends with a friendly atmosphere and welcoming regulars. Huge Double garden with a separate area for the kids. Will definitely be going again.

This pub is one of the best I have been to. And this last week they have put on twyfest which I can imagine with all the planning is the most difficult thing you could ever put on. But as per usual with this pub is they have created the most inclusive and amazing place you could ever be. I am so glad to be “one of the locals”
L. F.
Thank you Karen, Paul, River, Andrew and all your amazing team for a fantastic Twyfest. A superb week of fun, laughs and first class entertainment. Cannot believe the quality of the acts in Twyford's Got Talent today! So amazing to see all ages of our local community brought together to enjoy themselves and raise lots of money for charity. Well done to you all - great times in a great pub!!!
A. G.
One of the most amazing free houses i have visited. Great food, home grown veg and herbs, local produce, ciders, and ales.
Staff and owner are fantastic!!!!
S. M.
Always a brilliant pub with a warm welcome from the staff whenever you visit, but I have to say everyone surpassed themselves with another amazing Twyfest. The Wurzels were great fun and Band Day was fabulous. Thanks to all who volunteered their time to support the local good causes and make this the best Twyfest so far!
K. C.
Regular pub in Twyford. Reasonably busy and with good selection of beers. Haven't tried food. Atmosphere is a bit old fashioned, dark with low ceilings etc. but maybe that is what attracts people to it 😀
H. I.
Twyfest 2018 was an absolutely fantastic event! Great to see the local community getting together and putting on an amazing week. Shout out to all the sponsors and all the staff at the Duke for making it all possible. Made to feel really welcome by everyone. Landlord and Landlady are brilliant.
I. T.
Lovely staff, 4 real ales on and a local one from Binghams, great to see local businesses supporting each other. Enjoyed a great home made burger form Flavour Town who run the kitchen too. I'll be back when I'm next in Twyford!
D. P.
Nice and friendly pub and great Mediterranean graps next to it. Friendly owners. Definitely we will be back

A warm and friendly place.. Does get very busy but not so much that you cannot hold a conversation....it was a year ago since I first revued the Duke ..now to revisit and revise.. many events have been and gone but view much compassion amoungst regulars who are from many walks but they are like a family but not clicky . Tonight is a music night .last minute . com ..careoke .. great atmosphere.. so if you are reading this 23.11.19 ..pop along and enjoy a warm atmosphere and great people.. enjoy the setting ..food will be back on the menu quite soon .. watch this space..

Good for beer, not so good for high class cuisine. We had a great time and the serving team were excellent.

It was ok. I think some areas need some fix like the garden and patio area. However I think it's being worked on.

(Translated) A real English pub with a variety of beers and lots of loud young people. We had dinner here before (it was good), but now I just dropped in for a beer.

Igazi angol kocsma, sokféle sörrel, rengeteg hangos fiatallal. Korábban màr vacsoráztunk itt (jó volt) de most csak egy sörre ugrottam be.
