C. B.Amazing breakfast, took the girls for our hangover cure and safe to say it did the trick! Nice fresh and filling!! Unlimited toast and trips up to the food all for just over £5 can’t go wrong.

A. C.i came for a family meal with my partner and his family and the service has been absolutely amazing. We were first served by Emma who was very patient as there was a lot of us. The food was amazing and we have all throughly enjoyed the night. The staff have been very kind and friendly as well as the carvers for the carvery cracking jokes with us. I would definitely recommend my friends and family to come here.

C.Good price food, the cavery team are very friendly, same can't be said of the lady "greeting" on the bar, who really didn't look impressed when we walked in and waited patiently at the bar to order, everything was a real effort, she was clearly having a bad day. Large pub and car park, near junction 11 of M4. Toilets look clean, although it's scary that there is no hand soap in the toilets!!!! Clearly and maybe only obvious to some, this is NOT acceptable!

J. M.One of Reading's best kept secrets, and somewhere I invariably visit, every time I visit this nondescript town, just off the M4.
Can't really comment on the menu, we've never arrived in plenty of time to sample the cuisine. Can't really tell you what it's like Sunday through to Friday, as every one of my appointments have this far been three o'clock, on a Saturday.
What I can recommend is that it's a quarter of an hour's walk, from the Madjeiski's away enclosure, and the beer here is just over half the price, that you'll be fleeced for, in there!
Add to that the free car park ( I've never seen anyone clamped), and the ease of getting back on the M4, and you'd be mad to go anywhere else!
Don't want to go back to Reading, but... If I do, I'll definitely go here
a. j.Went there early evening for food pre go karting. Walked in and three staff stood behind the bar, not one of them was engaging I didn't know who to talk to, not a welcome first impression. A family with very young children had taken over one corner of the bar but the place was large and not busy so we easily found a less rowdy corner. We ordered burgers and pizzas from the bar and was given a widget to inform us when the food was ready, about 15 minutes we were advised. The bar seating at the front had sport on the TV so we stayed there but there was a large back room with a carvery and pizza station but lacking atmosphere as there were no other customers or staff present. After about 25 minutes with no service I returned to the bar to ask if the order had been put through. The bar staff didn't reply! but printed off the order and walked back of house. At which time my alarm went off. I was told to go to the pizza station to pick up our food! I went there and one chef was busy preparing our food. The burgers looked like they had been sat there for a good ten minutes but one of the pizza was not yet ready (presumably why the others hadn't been served). The children enjoyed the pizza. We were only looking for some simple and cheap food and that was exactly what we received. The menu description of the burger sounded exciting with "jalepeños, pepperoni, Nacho cheese sauce and Piri Piri sauce, topped with crispy onion rings". The actual meal had very dried small patties with little of the promised garnishes. It was all edible but not nearly the exciting feast the menu described. One other person came in while we were eating and ate a carvery, which was served (and eaten) quickly. The atmosphere, service and burgers were lower than expected. Overall we expected a much better experience from a Mitchell's Butler brand.

M. K.I visit this carvery more than I should but the food and service is excellent and the prices are great too. It’s a far superior experience all round compared to the next nearest chain carvery.
To echo many of the comments about Leela, in particular, he’s great and really makes the experience. But the service from the rest of the team is also consistently good.
With businesses keen to attract business during the pandemic, this carvery has been offering regular 50% off promotions, which has been appreciated. But even at full price, meals here are very affordable.
The restaurant is working safely and constantly changing things around to keep up with the ever-changing covid-19 regulations laid down by the government.
Highly recommended for an inexpensive meal in Reading.

We had the breakfast buffet here twice as well as an evening meal and a few alcoholic beverages to get into the spirit.
Could not fault the place at all.
Food was good, staff were lovely and the beer was cold.
Highly recommended and should we return to the area I have no doubt we will pop in again.

A. H.They recently had a refurbishment and now serve stone baked pizza which looks really good. The carvery is always nice especially the gammon and the chefs are friendly. The chocolate fudge cake is tasty I would highly recommend this dessert. Hot food quality is good and there is lots of seating inside and outside.

j. o.I eat here everytime I visit my family in Reading. This past weekend we had the carvery again, and the chef who served us was Raymond. I felt that I needed to write a review so my comments can be passed back to him, and everyone there.
He was so jolly, enjoyed what he was doing and made myself and my family feel very welcome.
The ladies at the bar and also the waitresses around the restaurant were very friendly.
Please thank every member of staff who worked this past saturday around 5pm, forgive me as i never got their names.

Crispy tatties, flavoursome veg, soft roast beef, and lovely thick gravy. It was a pleasant surprise and we’ll now use them more frequently. Couldn’t recommend more!

He infered that the food was cold because my friend and I were chatting! We did get a free coffee but I think his attitude towards us left a lot to be desired!
