Reviews of The White Hart
The food is absolutely AMAZING, this is now one of my favourite restaurants.
Staff was very friendly and approachable, the wait for the food is not long.
The atmosphere is very relaxed, cosy and vibrant.
I am writing this review in the car on the way back from the White Hart and I already cannot wait to be back 😃
Lovely pub, friendly staff, and tasty grub, especially as you can earn your food by doing the popular red/black/blue circular walking routes around the nearby Knole Park (also with a look around the lovely National Trust house if you are members) surrounded by beautiful grounds and free roaming Deer. We really love these sorts of pubs that you can build your walks and days out at National Trust buildings, as we like to support out National treasures and also the local businesses and pubs too.
The food was fantastic as were the puddings, so we will come back again and again. My wife is still cautious about eating indoors, so they have a fantastic setup for outdoors eating with a waterproof cover and heaters above which have control for the customers to turn on or off according to preference. Staff were friendly and seemed very happy with working there and made you feel they enjoyed chatting to clients without pressure which I really like to see. We took some friends who had never been to that part of the world and they were very impressed considering they usually don't do pub grub. They also gave out some loyalty vouchers to collect for payment towards a future meal there.
Car park can get busy, so drive past that and there are some free parking streets nearby with a hundred metres.
Very classy place, so get your rambling boots on and do the walk before you BULK up on the food!
Sunday lunch with the family at the White Hart was spot on. Good friendly informed staff. Quick service and a roast nearly as good as home cooked and way better than a normal pub Sunday roast.
Good parking space, garden and children's play area.
This is a busy pub and booking is essential.
Looking forward to going again.
Great roast and service! Dessert was delicious too. (Had already started the dessert by the time I remembered to take a picture!)
We have been before on a few occasions, the latest was a bit last minute to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I booked the table via the website which was quick and easy. As always there is a friendly greeting when you arrive and we were shown to our table and within seconds a bottle of water was on the table along with the menus. We had a lovely evening, the service was first class and the food fantastic and the portion size was spot on for us.
We had booked a table to enjoy a Sunday roast on my mom's birthday and we had a wonderful time in the winter garden, which was heated. The food was absolutely delicious and the customer service impeccable. Thanks to Antoine for the great attention and warm welcome. Will definetly be coming back.
We visited as a ixed age group of 17 travelling from Sussex, Essex and Ipswich, on bank holiday Monday. We were shown to a lovely table. The service was excellent and the food exceeded our expectations. Thank you, we'll definitely be back!
I simply want to say that the manager/landlord who was on duty Saturday night is wasted in a countryside pub. He should be the maitre d’ of a top five restaurants in London.Without going into details, one of the best front of house staff I’ve ever met and I’ve been in the industry for 20 years.
We entered the pub and was told by a woman an hour so we booked online and got in in 20 mins and we discovered there were lots of tables free at the back
Anyway the service and food were excellent, it was a real pleasure and food was delicious
Nice restaurant attached to a good pub. The environment is very nice. The outdoor garden is very pleasant in the summer and there is a children’s play area near the car. The white Hart is located along the edge of Knoll park.
Lovely pub/restaurant at the edge of Sevenoaks. A lot of attention to detail with the decor, particularly with the Christmas decorations.
Good sized bar with a large selection of spirits and dog friendly in one section. Fair price for the drinks themselves which is a plus.
Had the 3 course Christmas meal with a large party which I was very impressed with. The only complaint I have was the sprouts were hard, other than that the meal was sublime.
Does appear to get very busy so best to book ahead if eating in.
Lovely food, friendly staff and a great place to meet friends for a catch up. Highly recommended.
Amazing food. Good selection of drinks . Great pub.
Very nice, food was excellent. Not too pricey. Lovely atmosphere.
Great pub, good selection of beers. Food and service was also great. Plenty of parking space.
A group of friends and I visited last Tuesday. The meals were fantastic, they even had a gluten free menu. I am trying to lose weight and they prepared a meal for me that wasn't on the menu. Our server was polite and helpful, I would definitely say he went the extra mile. All in all, would I recommend them? Yes 100% xx
We had a lovely Sunday lunch at this pub. The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating to us - we had requested a table in a ventilated area due to a member of our party being pregnant and wanting to avoid covid. They provided this and were also apologetic when another customer were rude to us for wanting to keep the windows open. They were also very attentive throughout and kept us updated when the food took a little longer than expected, although we didn’t mind! Food was delicious too. I would love to come back here if I’m in the area again.
Fantastic menu, so much choice. I finally chose the homemade quiche, belive me I could have ordered every single thing of the menu. It was lovely, definitely homemade, lots of filling, crisp thin pastry, gorgeous. Service was excellent, pricing I would say reasonable for premium food. I would recommend a visit just to try the quiche.
Wonderful pub with delicious food and a lovely atmosphere. They are a wonderful conservatory which is lovely in the sunshine. The reason for the 3 stars was the very rude hostess/waitress whom I encountered when I first walked in. She was pushy in telling me to wait at the door to be seated when I told her I was here to join a party for a baby shower. I then ran into a male waiter who was lovely but that 1st impression is key and she ruined it for me!
Lovely venue and well located next to Knole Park. Delicious beef in the Sunday roast but let down by the trimmings & pudding. The veg portions were inadequate, roast potatoes weren’t crispy and the Yorkshire looked like a pancake. Such a shame as the overall taste of the meal was good - it wouldn’t take much to make this a great roast. Sticky toffee pud was dry and shy of sauce.
Nice pub with a relaxed atmosphere... Good varied menu on offer...
Very popular place to eat and the car park, although fairly big, could not cope and we had to park on the main road. They were a bit short of vegan options on the menu, so choice was limited, but what we did have was very tasty.
Really nice quality food, well cooked and presented, good value although not cheap. Perfect for a 'nice' meal out. No real lunchtime menu to speak about and the staff wear casual cloths however these are small things compared to the whole experience of eating at the White Hart.
Just to add a great outside space under cover with heaters for those less than warm days...
Food was excellent and was not a long wait. The staff were very friendly and helpful with recommendation for meals om asking. Very good spacing of table and clear hand hygiene areas on entering. The atmosphere was very calm and cozy. I will be coming back lots more. I was recommended a steak sandwich which was delicious. Great experience overall
The food was really nice. Good value for money. Lovely location. Staff were accomodating. Service was a bit slow today.
It was a nice atmosphere the food was nice. It was a bit overpriced. The drinks were overpriced aswell. A few to many dogs in the eating area for my liking. The staff were polite. Had to ask twice for a refill. I will go again just need to lower the prices a bit
Lovely food....Bright and happy place to cheer you up on a gloomy day :)
Myself my partner and mum enjoyed the food, drinks, service and the little garden and garden shack it was an afternoon out for my mum a treat for her but we all loved it.
Great service good food attentive staff , what's not to like
Really lovely pub, staff were helpful and kind and the food was great. we had Sunday Lunch with our family for the first time for a while and it was great.. We then sat in the very nice gardens and had tea... All in all very very good
Food good and the service excellent. Conservatory now getting a bit chilly.
Lovely setting with space for children to play
I ordered the small fish and chips and was very disappointed the fish had very thick oily batter more batter than fish although the fish was very fresh Good job I ordered a large glass of wine which I thoroughly enjoyed on the lovely sunny terrace
incredible gluten free options. food is always delicious and staff are so kind. the ambience is fab always. food and drink are slightly overpriced but worth it for a nice treat
Sat in the well ventilated conservatory on a glorious day with family from Canada. Very impressed with ambiance and food
Truly lovely pub ambience. Good food and huge range of drinks. Great atmosphere and service. Felt very much at home 🍻
Love this pub! Great service and so lovely to have an extensive and delicious gluten free menu, the pie was amazing! 😋
We had the most fabulous meal here today. The food at the White Hart is always delicious with a great mix of pub classics and more unusual dishes. The staff are very knowledgeable and the service is excellent.
The new social-distancing measures are thorough and unobtrusive. They certainly didn't spoil the relaxed and friendly atmosphere we've come to expect at the White Hart (though I did feel sorry for the staff wearing visors in this heat!). I really can't recommend this pub enough 😊
Best chicken pie meal I have EVER had. Lovely service. Highly recommend and hope to be returning very soon.
It was ok food was ok cleanliness is not it's strongest point there was gum stuck on the window in the extension bit, the smell as we walked in was like a funky smell and the seats were abit grim. The place needs an update.
An excellent menu with a great range of choices for vegetarians and vegans - certainly the best out of all the pubs I looked at. Food was delicious and the service was great. Will definitely be back :)
I Sat in the garden of this pub. wonderful my friend went and got the beers the best pint of beer I've had in 2 years excellent ! 👍😜 and the food looked absolutely wonderful as well double thumbs up for this one I'm going to go back and try it once again.👍
Following a walk at Knole, we enjoyed a wonderful Saturday lunch at the White Hart. Our group of six, including two children was promptly welcomed, offered hand sanitizer and led to our table. The pub has put into place one of the most well thought-out Covid plans I've seen, in terms of access into and throughout the pub and PPE for their staff. It all felt very safe.
The service was friendly and efficient, the food delicious, from starters to dessert. I often get my hopes up upon reading other people's reviews of good pub experiences, usually to be let down. Not in this case. I'd place the White Hart as one of my top pub experiences and will most definitely be returning.
Always hesitant to promote as its hard enough getting tables but they consistently serve up good pub food at very fair costs. They just need to ensure that the manager that was ether this Sunday remains.
Service was excellent, especially the restaurant manager. Wines were good value and a nice varied selection. I especially liked the daily menu with the drinks to start section. I had the scallops to start which were very good. In our party we had fish and chips and I had a steak we also had the lamb. What was odd was the mains felt like they had been cooked by a different chef...The chips felt like they were from a bag, I would have done the steak with fries) and the fish and chips were basic at best.
It was odd because the atmosphere in there was fantastic and it really had a gastro pub / restaurant feel but the mains felt pretty Wetherspoons. The deserts were very good, cheese selection excellent and even nice desert wines priced right. Would have been a 5* review if it wasn’t for the somewhat average main courses.
Roast the portion sizes just a bit small touch more on the plate would be good womens portion ? but very tasty and well cooked.
Looks a nice place, well situated off the road. The place was packed full of people on Sunday afternoon 3pm, but the service was poor. The wife and I sat waiting for over 15 minutes for a waiter to bring menus or offer a drink.
The food was brought to table in 3 minutes, which was great and it was very tasty.
We paid afterwards at the bar on the way out as our waiter had vanished.
We would go back, possibly at an earlier time or another day, because the pub/ restaurant looks to have a lot of character and is conveniently situated.
Working locally this is one of our favourite out of the office lunch gastropubs. A short drive from our office and always a delight to visit. This summer has indeed been a very hot one, the whole of July (2018) had continuous clear skies and temperatures soared to 33°/18 towards the end of the month.
We however made a visit in the second week of August, the weather by the time we were ready to depart was overcast and raining mildly, so refreshingly cool. We all love the food at The White Hart, and tend to try various dishes on each visit. Drinks ordered and to hand we browsed the menus and placed our orders within 10 minutes of arrival. The White Hart steadily got busier during our visit, lunchtime trade and regulars I would imagine.
Unfortunately for the next 50 minutes we were waiting for our food to arrive, no updates from the kitchen or waiting staff, no feedback whatsoever, when the food did arrive welcome and hot as always the quality and freshness was unbeatable. So maybe a word of advice, keep the guests'/tables informed of progress of their orders, say every twenty minutes or so, if and when you are exceptionally busy, we would not be here if we did not love the food, just keep us informed. We like other local working professionals only have the hour to spend lunching.
Just had a lovely lunch here on route down to the coast. Staff were very friendly, food was tasty and well presented. An all round beautiful pub following covid guidelines. Highly recommended.
Lovely food , staff and atmosphere
Great food and good selection of drinks. The vegetarian menu is fairly small but what's there was good - I was very pleasantly surprised by the beetroot burger. The car park needs to be about twice the size but you can't blame a place for being popular
Stopped for dinner en route back to London, I had the crispy beef salad and my wife had Thai veg curry. Both dishes were delicious and not too expensive given the quality. Nice relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff.
Really nice restaurant, very attentive staff, very clean with tasty food. No problems whatsoever!
Lovely food, excellent service. Pub is lovely and big with lots of space and it's dog friendly!
Good food and great service!
Lovely food, quick friendly service, and a really great atmosphere! Not too loud or quiet either, could have a proper conversation without having difficulty hearing anyone, which was fab. It was Mother's Day as well, so quite busy, and still really great! :)
Had an amazing family meal at the White Hart.
Really good value.
Excellent food. I very much recommend.
Good atmosphere. Busy in main pub, but not affecting comfort in the dining areas
Fantastic food lovely atmosphere
Service a tad slow but that seems the normal under current conditions
I been to the white hart with my mum and dad I think sister mollie too for lunch
I enjoyed their lunches especially their tasty Sunday lunches
They have lovely drinks kind of like apple juice or water
They get 5/5 for good food they make
Today we had a lovely Roast, the team were welcoming and attentive. We had roast beef, a pork and a kids sausage and mash. All came quickly and perfectly done. Couldn’t have asked for a better Roast dinner if I’d tried. Everything was beautiful and would even say the portion size was excellent and great value for money. The pork was juicy and tender and the beef was perfectly pink. I am not a fan of roast dinner but this was delicious.
My favourite Pub! Delicious food; Great and varied range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks; Beautiful garden and comfortable outdoor sitting areas; and Child friendly! Perfect for both formal and informal dining.
Fabulous food! Outstanding service!
Lovely pub with good food and decent beer.
Hadnt booked but a table was found fir us. Lovely meal and very good service
Great service and very helpful and friendly staff. The was amazing and reasonably priced!! Would recommend to anyone!
Excellent food and service - really enjoyed the game menu items and great choice for children. Top quality puddings
Had a fantastic Sunday roast today. Meat was moist and delicious, portions were good, roast potatoes were crispy and golden the gravy was rich.
Poor lamb roast, only once the "chef" came out with the manager and I pointed out it was like chewing a horse steak rather than tender as lamb should be and advised on how it should be done was I taken seriously and got it voided from my bill. The chicken pie however was apparently lovely (according to my teenage son)
Service of bar staff was good. I won't return but wasn't terrible enough to advise others to stay away
One of our favourites in the area but latest visit soured by being evicted from our table sharply after 1h30 without any option for dessert or hot drinks. Sad end to an otherwise enjoyable meal... And if we ran out of time that was the 35min wait on the kitchen, not us!
The best way to step out of lock down. With quality surroundings superb food with welcoming and attentive staff.
What a lovely afternoon. Highly recommended. Thank you The White Hart
First visit. Taken by friends who know the pub. Well looked after exterior and equally so inside too. Great range of beers on tap. Food was v good too. Would thoroughly recommend this delightful place.
A friendly welcome, well organised re covid, good spacing, plenty of sanitiser, and one way system. Well presented food great quality. Lots of staff who were helpful but not pushy makes for a relaxed environment. Thank you guys.
Absolutely fantastic food staff and ambiance. The safety rules, due to covid 19 were comprehensive and reassuring whilst not being intrusive on the many customers. A big big thank you for a super evening.
I love this pub❤
People clearing up their dogs poo and tables by the play area would be my only improvement.
Friendly staff and reasonable selection of fresh food that was cooked really well. Outside eating area includes covered and uncovered areas and nice and sunny.
Fantastic meal, incredible atmosphere, and lovely staff...what more can you ask for. Would highly recommend.
Excellent service and incredible food. Never been here before but will be back soon. Fantastic Sunday roast.
Excellent food. Great atmosphere. The garden is large with many tables, greenery and a small play area so especially lovely to sit out in the summer.
Had changed owners several times over the last few years. Friendly atmosphere, good selection of beers and wines, good food. Nothing really original, just a nice place to go.
Top quality food in a great pub. Well decored and outside is very nice as well. Play area for children what's not to love about this place??
Great pub food and dink location near a park good car parking too
Bit expensive but you get what you pay for, nice food, good, friendly staff and fair priced drinks
Nice pub, with nice garden and play area for kids. Can be very busy during the lunch time. A bit disappointed with fish and chips, fish was small and with skin on.
Superb! great food, fast service and great atmosphere.. i love this pub... but make sure you book it on Sunday or you will ended up on the
waiting list !
Monica
Been before, excellent food, proper pie, v friendly service from young staff. Special meal indeed. Thoroughly recommend it.
Close by Knole Park, so after a long walk we headed off to the White Hart for lunch. Very busy due to Christmas parties but the staff handled it well with minimal waiting. Good food and service, car park was a bit of nightmare due to being so busy.
Best Sunday lunch and menu if you dont want a roast is also extensive. Staff very friendly and helpful. Book in conservatory if you can
Lovely pub. Allows dogs in certain area's. Good staff (on the ball). Nice food. Highly recommend.
Busy on a Thursday lunchtime for a reason...enough said
Enjoyed the pork belly/pork cheek, fondant potatoes and greens tonight. The coffee and taster dessert is a nice way to finish without feeling too full.
Really pleasant atmosphere with a great range of food at a good price point
Food was great and staff very friendly. The benefit of it being dog friendly was good and very good Covid setup.
Love this place: welcoming ambiance with a fine range of ales and wine. Our lovely Philippino server was a delight
Very nice beautiful English pub which is next to where I am staying. Very nice ambience, great beer selection and also places outside for children to play. Treasure of a place.
I enjoyed my meal but I thought the service was a little off - it could have been the face masked the staff now had to wear but other than that it was good
Lovely staff and food, but had to wait an hour for our main course.
Really tasty food, served hot and within very good time. Friendly and attentive waitress. Looking forward to returning.
Delicious food, lovely atmosphere and fire place makes it all extra Christmasy ✨
Love this Pub and it's food . Service is attentive ..Garden nice too.
Lovely atmosphere, food fabulous. What more could you want 😎
Great place. Good beers. Nice food. Relaxed atmosphere. V popular. Good garden at back...
Great food and service. Lovely to sit outside in the warm weather
Excellent for Gluten free. Have been three times and had different gluten free dishes each time.
This pub has been a favourite of ours for the past 3 years but they have recently up their game with the food and it’s now our top pud in Sevenoaks!!!
Lovely food . Very cosy , comfortable pub
Great food, lovely setting, friendly and helpful staff.
Beautiful pub, food was very very nice and dog friendly which is always a winner with us.
Excellent food and exceptional bar staff
Nice and friendly staff. Pretty good food and cosy pub.
Amazing food as always, staff attentive, polite and friendly
Really nice food, friendly service and nice garden! We will come back very soon!
Nice lunch in the garden. Service good and food tasty and well cooked
Great place to eat and lovely surrounding s will return again in the near future
Food was great and this place allowed dogs. Im removing one star because the service was a little too slow for my liking.
The best Sunday roast I've had in yonks ...Helpful staff excellent drinks selection . It can get busy so book ahead if possible
Great place. Lovely atmosphere and delicious foor.
Service very efficient and staff very friendly.
Would definitely go back.
Nice and cozy place. Friendly staff and good food.
Polite friendly and helpful staff, food is Good, beer is well kept, nice environment. Always a pleasure.
Well laid out plenty of space, lovely food and good menu
Food really good and service excellent. Seem to have managed the social distancing very well.
We visited this 17 Century pub for Sunday Roast, and were not disappointed, it was great, and the staff were excellent, highly recommend.
Very tasty food, good service and friendly staff.
Delightful pub easy to park very friendly staff enjoyed a light lunch well cooked and presented.Thank you.
We have been to the white Hart, in sevenoaks twice now... The food was amazing... Very nice pub...
Good selection of beers and wines. Fun staff and nice garden to enjoy while having a cold one.
Excellent food and service as always. Recommended but book as is always busy.
Excellent Eating Place - Fine Food and Good Range of Beers. Recommended.
The food is absolutely fantastic! Would definitely go there again!
Great meal. Lots of choices for our gluten free visitor.
Good Sunday lunch but you need to book as you won't get a table
Great food and a very charming pub
Good quality, comforting pub food.
Pet friendly - lots of dogs.
Nice food, good service, nice drink selection tad expensive generally good
Lovely pud with great food and beer selection.
Great pub, lovely atmosphere, very popular with Sevenoaks locals.
Had a nice meal, friendly staff, will definitely visit again.
Went to another place in Underriver where they were “too busy”, made us feel unwelcome and treated me with contempt. I looked for an alternative and thankfully discovered the white hart. Friendly and accommodating the staff offered what they could (also very busy) then the food was very good sat in the heated outdoor area. Lots of families and groups of all ages there enjoying themselves.
Lovely pub. One of the best in the area. Really good pub food. The service is top quality, the staff are incredibly kind and accommodating. Need to book a table though as it’s so popular & the cat park is tight!
Rare to get great food (good selection too) with such excellent service in a pub nowadays. This does both. Great meeting point for a lunch before walking in Knole Park.
An excellent experience all round. Food was great but it’s clear the service makes all the difference. Sitting down at 4pm on a Sunday; the pub was already incredibly busy - table was cleared within 5 minutes of arrival and the first thing that struck was just how many staff were available and incredibly efficient.
An amazing team make any business tick and it was refreshing to experience it first hand. Helped keep the old folks happy for their 50th anniversary too so thank you to each and everyone in today. (John John!)
Also a side note - menu was abundant with gluten free options and all of the staff catered to it exceptionally well. Kudos.
Went for dinner. Duck salad amazing perfectly crispy. Mulled wine nice. Sad times they ran out of mulled cider. Would deffo come back and eat all the same over again!
Excellent place to eat. Waiting staff etc very friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent and the only reason it’s not a 5 star is the additional cauliflower cheese was not as good as the rest of the meal
Beautiful place and food is delicious staff is very friendly. We come here for special occasions and we just love the atmosphere of the white hart. ❤️
Some pubs are great... The White Hart is perfect.
Their staff are exceptional, hardworking, polite and attentive.
We booked a table for my birthday, that's February 12th in case you want to know, and had never been here.
Hospitality is my profession, outside acting, and you can trust me when I say the food was perfect. When you can dish out that amount of Sunday lunches and still be 100%, then you are doing something right.
The chap that looked after us, sorry... I can't remember your name, was lovely and professional.
I wish the pub continued luck.
Demetri Turin
Pretty average. Fish and chips were “fine”. Beer was “fine”. Told I was early for my booking after I had told the lady on the desk that I was early for my booking - which always makes me laugh as they had space (you can usually tell a lot from that particular greeting).
Nice gardens visited on a scorching day with good shaded areas available.
Service is very efficient and friendly. My meal was not fantastic but perfectly good. My other guests were very happy with their fish and chips.
Very dog friendly and water brought for my dog.
A handy place to meet in-between Hastings and London and easy to access.
We had a lovely meal.waitress was very nice. All the staff was friendly and helpful.Food was cooked to perfection.Would definitely come back again.
The White Hart is a really friendly, welcoming pub. The food was good but a bit pricey. The staff were excellent- quick, efficient and smiley (even on a busy Saturday!). The bonus was being allowed to take our dogs in.
We stopped in for lunch.
Fantastic table service in the well kept garden.
The food was really fresh and well presented.
There's a children's area away from the main garden.
A large car park was almost full when we arrived, normally a good sign.
A great place. Would visit again.
The pub is great! The staff was very friendly and informed about the menu and the service was excellent. The food was really tasty and the portions were quite good.
This is by far my favourite pub for dining. Menu is seasonal and there's a lot of options, vegan, meat, vegetarian or even pescatarians. My personal favourite is their pork belly, it's must, huge portion too! Staff are super friendly and attentive. I have been coming here since 2012. They also give coupons for discounts 😊
Great food and lovely atmosphere. Need to fix the taps in the Gents though.
This pub is outstanding in every way. Service, food and lovely surroundings. A favorite with our family. It’s a little off putting I guess to be asked for a tip, they do point out that service is not included and then hand you the device that asks for a tip percentage. I left a good tip as it’s great but feel being asked personally for one is offputting.
Having driven past a million times and never been in we decided on a whim to try Dinner at The White Hart last night. After hearing good things from friends we had high expectations, we were not disappointed. We hadn’t booked and the car park was busy so we’d prepared for maybe not being lucky. As soon as we reached the bar, despite being in the middle of something, Tom greeted us warmly, he searched for the possibility of a table ( they were very busy) and offered us a drink. Within 10 minutes we were sat at a table. Food was probably the best pub food we’ve had, the steak mushroom and ale pie was piping hot, veg cooked to perfection, scallops starter was delicious! So was the venison suet pudding… can’t fault anything. Staff all very attentive and know what they are doing, We will definitely be back.
This is the BEST pub I have been to in 40 years!
Went the day after Boxing Day this year, with my elderly parents my sister, her three kids, her husband, his elderly mother and two dogs. From the moment you walk in you are greeted warmly and automatically feel welcomed and I don’t mean this faux American bu//sh*t that we seem to have turned into (nothing against America but we are British). I was having a grumpy day and so was on the verge of being prickly. But the way the staff were so accommodating and made everything seem no trouble at all actually made me chill out. It was weird. I think I am so used to there being some type of confrontation or having to put up with the attitude that they are doing you are favour with everything in this country that this place literally transported me back to how it was back when I was growing up. Even the other customers were really nice. When you walk in a room with two dogs you don’t always expect smiles and conversations!
I haven’t even mentioned how good the food is or the size of the portions, how they are good with kids etc.etc. And the girls serving us were not much older than 18. I could literally go on and on.
Just go! That’s unless I hadn’t been transported to another time and place that day because I have not had that level of hospitality in a long time. Best pub in Britain for me and I’m from Manchester!!
Great venue for a family get-together. Interesting & varied menu. Pies looked handmade & very appealing; curry very nicely presented with *big* prawns; chicken saltimbocca could have been better presented but was very tasty; salmon with chargrilled chicory was absolutely delicious. Only criticism of the last was the small quantity of potato (especially compared to the carbs with the curry). However, this left room for triple chocolate brownie, which was immaculate. Possibly the best I've ever tasted. Sadly panna cotta & raspberry posset had both run out.
Ambience very relaxed & comfortable, but quite noisy at times (including us!) As a semi-serious ale drinker, I found the beer a little disappointing, but others were quite happy.
We ate indoors as it was a little chilly, but the beer garden is very spacious including a play area. The roses were beautiful.
Hypercritical review as there's not much to improve: all in all, definitely worth going out of the way for. :)
We stopped here as a couple for Sunday lunch after a walk around the grounds of Knowle Park. The pub was busy but not over crowded or manic. All the staff we encountered were absolutely charming and attentive. Our meals were delicious and as a gluten free diner I was really well catered for. The sticky toffee pudding was particularly yummy! We will definitely return. If only all pubs were this great.
This was for a family get together of 13 people. Sophie our waitress was brilliant, very attentive and cheery. Food was exquisite, portion sizes were filling and tasted delicious. I would recommend the Blackberry and Apple Crumble Tart with Blackberry Sorbet.
Had a terrific Sunday lunch today, the roast dinner was delicious and the restaurant was very accommodating for dogs. Harry was amazing, he was super attentive and certainly deserves some recognition for how he treated us. Will definitely be returning!! :)
Really enjoyed our lunch at The White Hart. Four of us stopped in on a rainy August (sigh) day. The pub was busy, but the atmosphere was good and the service still attentive. The food we enjoyed a lot, it wasn’t cheap - but what pub food is these days?! Very much recommended.
Excellent experience and amazing range of gluten free choices which as a coeliac is just amazing to see immediately when looking at the menu. Probably the best gluten free fish and chips I’ve had since being diagnosed.
Our server Hannah was lovely and extremely tentative and was smitten with our baby who was giving off all the smiles.
A lovely experience after a day spent at the Knole.
Will be returning with the rest of the family.
Great pub great friendly staff didn't eat here maybe next time but all the food we did see looked fantastic.
Called here on the off chance with friends after a day out as the menu looked to offer something a bit different, as well as standard pub restaurant fare. We were met by a very friendly waitress and opted to sit outside on the nice terrace. Service was efficient and friendly. Great food, the crispy chilli beef salad and milanese chicken with citrus salad and whipped goats curd were highlights. Our friend needs gluten free and was very well catered for as most dishes could be offered gluten free. The desserts were good value as well.
We came on a busy Saturday lunchtime but were served by lovely staff who were so considerate and thoughtful. The food was fresh and delicious and I would highly recommend.
Love it here, food is delicious every time I go, staff are always so friendly and they cater really well for gluten free
This is a beautiful pub, with some really amazing food. Their mushroom and chicken tagliatelle is absolutely divine! Everything on offer looked incredible. It's a little expensive for me but makes for a nice occasional visit or a date night.
I’ve eaten here twice and both times been surprised at the breadth of GF options and the seriousness with which they treat gluten free requirements for celiac / coeliac guests. The roast was delicious. Ample outdoor space and room for dogs! Worth booking on Sundays if you want to sit inside as it gets busy.
The pub was the perfect place to meet. I was coming from Tunbridge Wells and the family I was meeting for lunch was travelling from Germany to London. The White Hart was nearly halfway from Dover to London.
We managed to get a table outside under an umbrella.
We ordered risotto rice, steak sandwich and hamburger for main course. Tiramisu, gooseberry and apple crumble and, ice-cream scoops for pudding.
For drinks we had J20 with lemonade, pint of peroni lager and larger shandy.
The food was excellent and nicely served with no delay. The restaurant was very clean with tables cleared and cleaned in good order.
The waitress was efficient, attentive and very polite. She entered into our conversation whilst not being interfering. Our drink and food orders were efficiently served.
All in all a lovely pub with lovely atmosphere.
Beautiful roast dinner. Kids were welcome too, good little playground. Fab service too xoxo
What a lovely pub. Traditional and welcoming. Run by a young team and staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Steak pie was delicious! Will be back to try other options.
Lovely beer garden with an enclosed playground for the kids. Food is good and quintessential country pub atmosphere.
Came on a very busy day. Your staff were so calm and welcoming - always a smile - nothing too much trouble. Special mention for Sean ! Your establishment are very lucky to have them.
Food is always fantastic and the service is warm, friendly & professional. Has to be the best pub for miles around!
Absolutely wonderful evening for my wife’s birthday. Great food & lovely and attentive service as always, and a cracking fire too! Thanks!
Service for drinks is a bit slow. You have to try and catch there eye. Food was lovely. Also seating is good plenty of space between tables.
Celebrated a family mea here. We were a large table and got a great table tucked away so we could feel really special. Awesome beers on tap and delicious food.
service and food was fantastic , staff was amazing , defo go back , the business is run in a professional manor , keep up the good work , one of the best restaurants in kent by miles
Really quick service! Great food and beautiful garden!
Excellent food, I require gluten-free and my choice was varied and very nice indeed
Gastro pub
Top marks all around. The service was excellent from the start and very attentive. We had starters, mains and deserts which were all absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend
A great Sunday roast.
We had a great late roast here but fair warning, it is super popular and very busy, so please book!
Food was great, little play park for the kids and staff very attentive.
Overall highly recommend.
I visit The White Heart Pub in Seven Oaks regularly for a pint. Although I haven't yet had the chance to eat there, the food always smells very appetising. There is a selection of regularly changing guest beers and local brews.
The garden area is a great feature, offering both covered and uncovered seating to accommodate various weather conditions.
Due to the location, the car park here can get very full at busy times, so worth baring this in mind.
The pub is extremely dog-friendly, providing large dog biscuits and plenty of water bowls, making it a pleasant spot for dog owners.
The interior is kept clean and tidy, and the staff are consistently polite and professional.
I look forward to dining here with my partner soon and would recommend it for a comfortable pint and welcoming atmosphere.
Had a lovely lunch in the sunshine. Crispy beef salad was very very good, would happily return for that alone!
Great food service is a little on the slow side, but it was very busy.
Very nice and friendly atmosphere and staff. Accommodating on a busy Friday night with no booking.
Cosy interior.
Food was nice, but could have been a bit more flavourful.
This is a lovely old coaching inn... great food, good choice of well-kept real ales, and civilised atmosphere. Long may it continue, all in the best English tradition.
PS Also, obviously, no dreadful musack or nasty machines...
Extremely popular pub. Location, ambience cannot be faulted. Food is okay(ish) but is let down because it is not all prepared on site. Not a lover of "packet food" so for that special meal I would go elsewhere.
A splendid evening. Delicious food, great wine and an exceptional playlist. One of the finest pubs in Kent.
Travelled from Epping Essex and were not disappointed. Super service from the moment we walked in and got better and better.
May well go back one day and highly recommend anyway.
Really lovely lamb roast. Very tasty.
