Nice and local and on the door step. There was a need for some refreshment on Saturday lunch time, Very busy, very friendly helpful staff who acknowledged you at the bar. Worth a trip and yes, the pint went down very well. Thank you

Visited on a Monday night, to play a darts match, and just when you thought it would be a quiet night in the week, it was busy. Staff never kept you waiting, service was quick, and with a smile and conversation. Food was great too. There is plenty of parking at the side and rear of the pub...

Short notice stop for hungry kids post Ninja Warrior! Rob, Karen and Tina were great. Fit us in even though we were 12. To all the management and staff , I would like to thank you all for the hospitality you showed on Friday 29th October for my dad's funeral which was held there Gordon (Gordy) Johnson , his family was overwhelmed by everyone in the pub , the food you put on was lovely , as most of his family live in London we didn't see many of his friends from his local but he always spoke about people down there and he always watch his football there, . It was a fantastic day. Thanks the Johnson family.

Came on a Thursday for half proce sharing platters, 2 pints and 2 platters came to just over £15. Quite popular tonight and a fair few noisy regulars but if you're happy to look past that this is a great place and you're not fighting for a seat. Really impressed overall. Staff really attentive, helpful and the food was a surprisingly good quality. Recommend!

Went earlier this evening for a pre-booked festive menu and it was brilliant. There was 16 of us having 2 or 3 course meals and everyone’s food was hot and tasty. Portions are large! Good atmosphere and lovely staff. Slight problem with the bill which was checked and corrected immediately.

A great local pub with delicious food at reasonable prices. Looking very Christmassy at the moment and extremely busy with group bookings. Check out the large shabby, shabby chic room to the left of the bar. Lots of atmosphere some of which is attributable to the characterful locals. Love it. Very efficient and helpful staff too.

Good pint of Timothy Taylor's landlord considering people not drinking a whole lot of cask ales at present. Greeted by staff and shown to freshly sanitised table... feels very safe and well run considering troubled times !

My partner and I visited this evening for a drink, no meal. It's a no frills local boozer with it's share of youngsters on the patio smoking and letting off steam after a week's work. I took a look at the food menu and it looked reasonably priced. Maybe soon we will try some.

As it's my local, I don't want to criticise too much as I don't want it to close down. The recent refurb is an improvement over the way things were before. It's not an unfriendly pub, but nor is it particularly friendly. I like DJ Dave on Thursday evenings - great music! UPDATE: A friend and I had dinner there on Thursday, 1st Nov 2018. The pub was very, very busy. It took awhile for our food to arrive, but that was understandable due to so many people being there. We both cleaned our plates - it was delicious.

Well supported local, popular with nearby residents and visitors. Live sports, free WiFi and small car park...additional parking available directly outside...but maximum stay is 2 hours. Very friendly and welcoming staff, decent menu and well priced drinks. Worth a visit...but be aware this pub is quite small and can get really crowded, making seating a big issue.

Moved in the area a few months ago with my son....new of the barley before as come from West end, have to say the place is very friendly and the food is great, the place is run to a high standard with full professionalism at all times ....staff are great ....its very rare to come into a pub and to not fault it. .....overall assumption .....your be hard pushed to find a proper pub like this...credit to the landlord and landlady .....well done.
