Nice enough pub with a playground and great beer garden. Food is fine but (in my opinion) a bit overpriced for what you get and the plating is …interesting (see picture as others may have different opinions). Weirdest thing was the waitress delivered our food and then told us we had to fetch our own cutlery, when she’d walked right past it to deliver the food - why the weird approach? (Cutlery also had dried on bits of food)

Lovely experience here last weekend. Had a birthday lunch. Myself and my daughter are vegetarian and really enjoyed the plant based burger. This is also available on the children's menu. My partner eats meat and enjoyed his meal also. Brilliant play area for kids too.

Lovely pub, friendly staff however there were a couple of things not available in the starters and a beer we ordered wasn't available. We ordered 3 kids chicken goujon meals and only 2 available. When they came they were well over cooked and neither children could eat them as it was solid. I understand it was a bank holiday but the popular items need to be made available. Kids enjoyed the play park and the puddings were lovely, but again an item on the menu was out of stock.

An absolutely ideal place for the whole family to meet!, and eat! (waxing lyrical) With an outstanding menu of sumptious meals to delight the appetite of the most adventerous diners from children to adults. The staff are very friendly, and are very attentive from the moment you enter this very fine family orientented establishment. With the outside seating you can enjoy the ambiance of the delightful gardens. The Plough Inn is definitely one to place on your must try list!, and very quickly you will find your must try list will fade into insignificance, because you will want to return again!, and again!. The cauliflower, coconut and chickpea tart with mango and walnut salad is THE best thing I've ever eaten. So flavourful and filling with a cool spoonful of coconut yoghurt. We are never disappointed when we come here! This is the second time I've brought my Grandparents who are down to visit from the Midlands and they thoroughly enjoyed the food both times. My only complaint is that the Eton Mess Sundae isn't on your menu all the time! 😍

Honestly, I remember this place before it was taken over. Was brilliant back then. Food cost less and they had different beer etc. Been a few times now, its a nice place. More expensive.. BUT better quality. Staff seem happy enough, floor isn't sticky and grim. Its a place you would want to go out for a meal, then a comfy area for a drink round the bar. Will be back again.

Good sensibly priced food and drink in pleasant surroundings. Very good helpful service. Would be 5 stars but there has always been an issue with the seating area at one end of the bar becoming difficult to access due to customers moving seats into and blocking "bottleneck". Wouldn't put me off going again but should be a simple problem to solve.

Went there for a wake after a funeral, last time we were there which was bang years ago the food and service was terrible and I don't think it's much better now, there was a problem with the drains while we were there so had to indure a horrible poohy smell which was very unpleasant, certainly wouldn't rush back that's for sure!!

Had a lovely lunch sat in the garden with friends. I like the fact they have a smoking and nonsmoking area outside. The food was really nice. I think the majority of us had the fish burger which we all enjoyed. The staff were really friendly and welcoming.

Disappointed with my roast dinner yesterday. The yorkshire was so solid it was inedible and I was given two small squares of beef one of which was mostly fat and three tiny baby roast potatoes. Always enjoyed my meals here before but today the cooking was not up to my past experiences. Atmosphere and service were very good but I will now be going elsewhere for my roasts.

Nice dining areas inside and out. Can be a bit rundown. Food is ok but not great. Have asked for naked burgers on occasion and they don't appear to know what I mean (without the bun) and when I've asked for extra salad they expect you to pay, that's bad! It used to be a real locals pub, but not anymore. I don't live locally but used to have friends in the area.

Went there recently as past experience has been good. Excepted limited choice re the roast but looked forward to the beef as i was advised it would be medium rare, yum. However after waiting around 45 minuets in the less than half full dining room, my meal came out luke warm except the potatoes. I had to ask for it to be warmed up and consequently the beef was fully cooked...dissapointing

If you pass by this place, make a U-turn. You won't regret it. Beautiful outdoor garden with a large tent if you want to stay out of the sun (??!!). Possibly the best sticky wings I've ever had (and I've had a LOT). Onion rings were nice and crispy (though probably under seasoned). Drink selection is fantastic. Excellent COVID measures !

We havnt experienced their food as being a large family would be quite expensive but it's nice to meet family that travel down and have a drink or 2 with the kids being able to play if the weather is acceptable enough. One day I will try their food and review that. But staff are nice and friendly and welcoming and the new renovations are very pretty and in keeping with the theme of the pub in an elegant style. Went there for a meal just before Christmas with a friend as she lived close by. Hadn't been before and first impressions I thought the restaurant looked inviting. We could choose from the standard menu or special so we ordered from both. Shared a cheesy garlic flat bread from the standard menu followed by the lamb shank from the special menu as it sounded lush. When it arrived we both were impressed with how both courses were delivered and it was presented to a high standard. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal & although we said we couldn't squeeze anything else in the cherry pie on the special menu had our name on it as soon as we saw it. It was presented in a small frying pan so proved it was oven baked rather than pinged in a microwave & mine came with Madagascan vanilla ice cream which was absolute heaven. I was so impressed with the food I have recently returned to try out their Sunday roasts & I must say it was yum. Hats off to the waiting staff & chefs I am definitely coming back 😁

Had a lovely meal with great service at prices comparable to a pretty good restaurant. The atmosphere is warm and friendly with a traditional décor and the staff are very nice and helpful. The food was delicious and piping hot and was also well presented. The view of the fields and trees by the building is pretty and would be lovely during the summer. There is historic information displayed outside that relates to the building and it's locale which is very interesting for those who like that type of thing.

Play area fantastic but food could have been better, kids fish was very oily, steak ordered rare came out medium and grisly, pie pastry was soggy and chewy. I'm sure if we'd have complained they would have rectified the steak (don't think they could have done much for the fish or pie as it's probably a problem with the preparation method). If you want somewhere lovely to sit in the garden while the kids play then it's great it's just a shame the food wasn't better.

Okay, nice atmosphere and staff. Not impressed by menu. I paid almost £10 for a salad that everything had been skimped on except the leaves, grated carrot is hardly expensive but I only had a couple of slivers, my friend paid almost £6 for a tiny slice of torte, which he literally ate in 3 bites. I've had a good meal in the past but I think you get a better deal if you stick to traditional pub fare such as burgers or fish and chips.

This place has recently been revamped and when we went back we were very pleased with the changes how ever we have only been to drink here (Coffee) as we have heard that the food is not that great and last visit there was a awful smell, I guess to give it a fair chance we need to try the food. The out side area has also been improved so think it will be great on a summers evening . However have a feeling it might be busy. Worth a visit to make your own mind up.

3 Diners for Lunch Friday 23rd September 2016. Spur of the moment choice of venue, loved the refurbishment, very tasteful, excellent parking and outdoor dining area's. Unfortunately as a franchise Hall and Wodehouse pub, the food is basic frozen-microwave-to table in nano seconds. There were many staff on duty for a reasonably quiet period and only the woman behind the bar area seemed capable of taking the food order and serving drinks including special coffee's while the other staff members just stood around. Long waits for service, quickly told there was no table service in the outdoor dining area. very disappointed with all aspects would not return. If Weatherspoons can get it right why not other franchises. Read on, Wow what an improvement, yesterday was actually my 4th visit, now very impressed, staff were brilliant, very welcoming and attentive, it was Monday yet extremely busy, food was excellent, I had rump steak medium rare, cooked to perfection, i prefer rump steak as it has more flavour and I never add any sauces. Hall and Woodhouse the Plough Inn is a great venue so tastefully presented, well done.

The plough is local to me. I use it often and have always had a lovely meal. Dog friendly as well so my little dog can enjoy a treat. They even do doggie ice cream! Lovely large garden with great play area for the kids. All in all a good around family pub.

Otherwise all fine!
