A place in downtown. Got there because you can’t find anything else there at 21:00 at night that serves also food and not just drinks. This is a combination of a fast food place with a cocktails bar. Not sure it works well. Atmosphere and the vibe should be improved, and the hamburger we’ve got, it was delicious but small 😳. Long wait too.

Tired franchise in need of a revamp. Shabby interior speaks of a thousand student nights. Burger and chips arrived in good time, but with the minimal service - cutlery and sauces had to be requested. If Southampton is busy on a game day or concert night, then you might consider the S&L for a reasonably priced burger and pint.

A little disappointed after a recent meal here, I know its fairly cheap but the quality was worse than expected. Our food was warm not hot and the chicken in my burger was a bit tough and dry like it had been reheated. We also had some cocktails on the 2 for 1 offer but they were very weak and not worth the money, even compared to comparable chains. Personally I think there are many more places in Southampton that are better value for money.

Booked bottomless brunch. Very good service, re-filled our drinks frequently. We were running late and staff were very accommodating, delayed our booking slightly so we could get the full 2 hours. Would definitely recommend!

What a shallow boring place to be. I might be missing something but it's a soul less place to be. A strange layout of the tables downstairs . Beer prices were reasonable compared to other local establishments and the service was good. I would add that I'm not a S&L lover but they do a job.

Me and my friends enjoyed our experience however one of the managers their made us feel uncomfortable. He made innapropriate comments about how we were dressed and attempted to flirt with us even though he was twice our age. After this he would often stand awkwardly close to our table.

Lovely place! My first visit to the Southampton branch, beautifully decorated and the staff were very helpful. We were a large group celebrating a 50th, they dealt with us paying separately very well and we ordered our food before arrival which was helpful. The drinks were fabulous and the whole bar was accommodating. I would absolutely visit again. (Hoping to one day have the right timing for a golden pineapple pina colada!)

We are CURRENTLY having a hendo party here and I just want to say how amazing our experience has been so far. Our cocktail making class has been amazing (lead by the amazing Poppy)!! I initially had this rated as 2 but after receiving a message from the owner (see below) I thought it reflected commitment to good service and that they take feedback on board. I've given it a 3. It is just ok. It's really busy during lunch time but I suppose not surprisingly, as it is centrally located. They have an average sized menu but it's the second time I've been there and on both occasions they had run out of a number of their products to complete a meal. The prices are reasonable for the portion size but the quality let's it down quite a bit. I ordered Gyoza and it was dry and crispy on the edges. The chicken filling was bland and they didn't have soya sauce to accompany it. Granted it comes with sweet chilly sauce, but I would at least imagine a soya sauce would be available if you're serving a dish like that. Nothing about the food really stands out to the extent where I would want to go back. Unfortunately, the service doesn't brighten the review either, as I can only describe it as apathetic at best. It's a pity.

Went with family for some cocktails and nibbles. This place did not disappoint. A huge platter arrived full of fries, onion rings, garlic mushrooms, cheesy bites and more and it was all cooked brilliantly. We all enjoyed some great cocktails in a really good atmosphere. Very Covid-19 secure venue. I think we were not the intended clientele for Slug & Lettuce as the reduced menu is focused towards alcoholic drinks. The food we did have were fries, southern fried chicken, halloumi and avocado wrap, these were nice but overall we wouldn't visit a Slug & Lettuce again, just not for us.

Really beautiful decor with some outdoor seating in a central location right by the number 7 bus stop. The planters are always really impressive and I stop by to admire them when I walk my pedigree Bichon Frise. Went to our usual place in southampton although since covid they have changed how things work slightly we were told at the door that their were no tables and they would let us know as soon as a table was available but could stand at the bar with our drinks, within the time it took the bar staff to make us 6 cocktails (less than 10 mins) 🍸 their was a table available and we were able to have it for the next 2 hours 😁 ordered some starters on the app they were also at the table in less than 15 mins... well done southampton great team of people

Wheelchair accessible entrance slight lip as you enter. Disabled toilets through the back oposite the kitchen. Food came out quite slow unfortunately and sometimes has to ask staff for items that should have come with the meal once or twice when they didn't come out, but the staff were lovely and had a chat with you. I had the smotherd chicken and large chips on side. The only thing I had to complain about was the chicken seemed a bit over cooked. But other then that had a good time with friends and with the current situation it wasn't a bad exsperience.

Very nice pub in Southampton city center. They have a nice breakfast menu serve till noon with different options including vegan. Cocktails are really nice and 2x1 is on during the whole day. I will definitely recommend for food and cocktails, they also have bottomless brunch and cocktails tree what can make your afternoon a bit more fun!!

Staff are very accommodating, we turned up just on time and they placed us near the window, we needed up with a visitor with a stinger but they had no worries moving us to a much comfier seat with out our buzzy friend. Good for drinks, 2 for 1 cocktails. But the food wasn’t great, some of it was cold. But we only ordered little plates so wasn’t too much of an issue. But one of our group had to wait over an hour to eat because they couldn’t get an allergy menu, despite asking multiple times. To add insult to injury she had her drinks spilled over her but she had her food refunded and we got a free bottle of Prosecco so that redeemed the service a little.

No one bothered to check if everything was OK which it wasn't. No one around to complain to or even to get another drink. Went in on Friday evening. Nice setting and ambiance. However the DJ music was crass and way too loud to have any conversation - this is a sit down pub - not a dance floor! . Cocktail quality was meh - they should give a single good one instead of two for one - which only serves to fill the bladder. Staff was friendly though.

I happened to be wandering round the shops the other day when it started to tip it down with rain. I decided to take refuge in this pub and had a coffee which was tasty. Quarter of an hour later it was still raining so I thought I might as well have a beer. This was tasty too. The pub was very clean, nicely decorated and the staff were friendly too. If I ever find myself in a similar predicament again, I will gladly head back here.

Could do with some more seating. Prices are a bit steep for some things on the food menu however some of the food is delicious! If you go in at the right time, you can get a really good sized portion, especially for your money! Would avoid toast due to it is grilled and ours was very burnt!

Good food plenty on the plate. Only problem is because the weather was good the doors are left open, which to ourselves was a problem. I suggest doors left closed or move the smoking tables over to one side and close the doors that side.Good beer pity I couldn't have another due to the smoke, best about it them outside didn't have food. I would have given 5/5 if this was not my problem, did speak to bar staff but it was not really acknowledged .

There's not a lot of seating downstairs, it's fine when the upstairs is open but if there is an event etc. you won't be getting seat unless you camp out. We didn't realise the group upstairs had hired the area and a staff member downstairs said we could sit upstairs, we were then unnecessarily rudely told by another staff member to go back downstairs. My issue was with the tone of voice/attitude as opposed to rightfully needing to leave. The only toilets in the venue are also upstairs so if you're hiring upstairs for an event you have all visitors wandering through your party to the loo and it's a bit awkward for regular visitors. I haven't eaten here but know they do some good Monday deals on food such as BOGOF which is great value. The drinks are fine but neither cheap or really nice so all a bit so, so. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here but it's okay.

I have to confess that this is by far the poorest Slug and Lettuce I've been to. When you first walk in, you're not entirely sure you've walked into a place that sells food and drink. Seems rather drab inside, lifeless even on a busy day. Staff are polite and friendly, however and there is also upstairs seating and bar. If it wasn't for the great cocktails and smiling staff, I'd probably never return here.
