Great old school pub near St Mary's stadium, welcomed by home and away fans. Very busy and hot inside but able to take your pint out onto the pavement. Reasonable price for a pint.

The chapel is my pre game and post game pub of choice. The staff are friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is always top notch. Another positive is that a good burger van is situated right next to the pub. Enjoy people.

The only pub within a 10 minute walk from St Mary's football stadium. So gets very busy on a match day. I've never frequented on a normal day so I don't know what it's like. A good selection of tasty beers though.

Small'ish sort of pub that is very close to St Mary's stadium, gets very busy pre and post matches, and is mainly frequented by the home fans, although away fans are welcome. Good selection of ales, larger and wine, no food available - but there is a buger van outside on matchdays. Staff and local crowd all very friendly.

The chapel Arms is a small pub about one-and-a-half miles from Southampton city centre and about 400 m away from St Mary's Stadium Southampton football club home ground. Obviously by being so close to the football ground it becomes extremely busy on match days, for home fans and some away fans visiting the city.

I'm a disabled pensioner and today, while waiting for my car to be MOT'd, decided to drop in here for a cold drink...well, that was the plan. But this place was closed...at 13:30 on a Wednesday afternoon? Now, I nominally counted 28 companies, trading within 200m of this pub...assuming 6 employees each that's 148 potential customers...but this venue, which doesn't have a rival in at least 800m chooses to shut its doors at lunchtime? As an ex-publican of some 20+ years...I find it quite incomprehensible that they have the earning capacity that affords them that luxury? Perhaps if they had their curtains closed it might have given me a clue from 100m away...instead of my struggling to discover the locked door? UPDATE: I received a reply from the owners and have therefore decided to upgrade my rating. Too often reviewers are ignored. But at least The Chapel Arms had the decency to reply and update their latest opening hours. So my new review is 3* but could increase if I manage to revisit it soon.

The chapel arms has a really good vibe. Also, if you are in to football it's right near the St. Mary's stadium! Before a match it's usually really crowded but if you are a Southampton supported it's fine!
