Had an Excellent evening with colleagues. We were looked after by Mark and his team who ensured that we had constant flow of drinks and food come in at the right pace. As you can see food looked and tasted good.

Great food, staff, decor, space, service. Just a fantastic place. My husband is a fussy eater but he could not stop raving about the food. There is a play area for children, an outside pizza kitchen, dog friendly, the place is just perfect. If we lived locally we would be regulars. Well done to all staff. Chef deserves recognition.

Lovely family birthday lunch. Beautiful setting. Large outdoor eating area with play park. Loads of distancely placed tables inside. Very welcoming staff providing excellent service. Good menu choice. Would be advised to book as very popular.

On first glance menu looks slightly basic and very pub food, and therefore it also looks a bit over the top price wise. I think it's a little on the heavy side money wise but the whole party enjoyed a very good meal. There were no issues and everything was definitely pub plus... all tasty and hot, and well presented and you could see where your money was going. A1 for food and effort and will be back no doubt many times

Fantastic birthday lunch! Nine of us including two children. Most of the adults opting for the Sunday roast which was brilliant, as were the other two meals ordered. Very polite and efficient service provided by all staff and a minor ordering error corrected swiftly and with very sincere apologies from two members of staff, which meant a lot as it showed how much they care! This is a quality business that deserves great success and I hope this review does them credit. We look forward to enjoying many more fabulous food here. Good food, wine and service, and a good atmosphere (on a busy Sunday lunchtime). Roast lamb and roast beef were very well cooked and came with a nice selection of veg, with a range of pud's available including cheese and biscuits. Definitely worth a visit.

Probably the best roast dinner I have ever had! Me and my family all are usually a bit iffy when going out for roast dinner because they never seem to be as good as what we can make at home, but it was honestly amazing. I would recommend the beef as it was cooked to perfection. Although warning to tall people, I smacked my head on one of the pillars so watch yourself when in there Bit pricy but worth every penny

Really good Sunday roast. The meat was really nice. The truffle and parmesan fries didn’t taste of truffle or parmesan so I was a bit disappointed by that. However that would stop me from coming back. Parking isn’t easy, we had to park down the road.

I can't praise The Cricketers enough. I had a fabulous Sunday Roast Beef. The staff were friendly and proffesional. The atmosphere was most welcoming. I am a mature single lady, who loves her roast dinner, so every Sunday since January 2022 I am trying the best roasts in Hampshire, mainly around the Meon Valley and Burseldon. I'm rather pinikity about how I like my roast, and the The cricketers accomadated me wonderfully. I'm getting quite known for my Sunday experience. So on Monday mornings, I have to give the low down of my experience. I've got quite a following and should probably do a roast blog or twitter. I booked very late 2.40pm on the day, but Mark was very happy to fit me in. When I arrived he saw me to my table and took my order. He said the meat was medium and it was, I could have cut the meat with my spoon. The roast potatoes, were the best I have ever eaten outside my home. They layer their vegetables, I am not keen. So they put the vegetables in separate dishes, one with cabbage, mashed swede and broccoli and the other a ramekin of tasty cauliflower cheese, which I normally don't like because I don't like gravy and cheese sauce mixing together, but as it was separate it was fine. They also brought my Yorkshire pud on a small plate for me. I absolutely would highly recommend this pub. A wonderful experience, and as a single lady they truly looked after me. Can't wait to go again. Thetr was also also a full menu which looked excellant as the staff walked the orders past me. It also had an exciting wine menu. My bill came to £21. 60 for the roast beef and two diet Pepsi. The puddings looked gorgeous, but I was full, maybe next time.

Regular visitor on Sunday with my son for a pint. Lots to choose from. Do not normally have anything to eat but on Fathers Day we decided to have a Pizza. I normally not a great pizza love but the Pizza I had was excellent . This place has always been a favorite of mine for at least 20 years but the new hosts have certainly energiized new life into it. Great friendly happy staff puts the icing on the cake. See you soon.

We sat outside in a warm day in late May, we ordered and paid at the bar inside, drinks were quick to the table. The burger was delicious, with two onion rings, well cooked fries. £15 (at time of writing) for the burger was very slightly on the expensive side, but would still recommend. Menu was short but some good choices and sandwiches available at lunch. Very pleasant way to spend a sunny lunchtime.

Only went for a drink in the garden while the kids played on the little playground so this review is purely based on that experience. Lovely big outdoor garden, new looking playground which kept a 9 and 5 year old entertained for 20 minutes and the beer was very nice. If the food tastes as good as it looked then we'll be back there soon to try it out!

The food was great, its not cheapest place, but you get what you pay for. The interior is very nice, it's clear that it is well looked after. Plenty of seating outside and a kids play area which looks new. Can't fault it really, except it is popular so you'll need to book a table.

As well as being in a beautiful setting, this tranquil country pub serves great food, and although I haven't used it myself yet, there is also an outside pizza van serving what look to be very tasty pizzas.

A lovely country pub. Plenty of outdoor seating and a pleasant atmosphere inside. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We only had a drink here but did look at the menu, it's not extensive but still a good choice, especially with the "specials" board too. The food we saw coming out looked very nice! We'll definitely be going back to try the food some time soon.

Having been here before,a few years ago,we thought we'd stop in for lunch. As before,the choices on the menu were varied. I had tuna steaks cooked in white wine & oregano,served on a bed of new potatoes with veg. Hubby had the seafood linguine. Portions were perfect, didn't need tea that evening! Both meals were very tasty & served very quickly on hot plates. The syrup sponge was also delicious. Excellent value for money. Will be back in the summer to enjoy the garden & more food! Absolutely beautiful place, staff are amazing and very attentive (no waiting when at the bar etc) the owner has a genuine passion for what he does and everything about the place. We came across this place on Mothers day a few years back when another pub had double booked us, I called the owner and explained the situation and immediately he said to come down and didn't hesitate to offer us a table on a seriously busy day. We turned up and were served drinks straight away and waited no longer than 10 minutes for a table considering the pub was packed and we hadn't booked. Atmosphere is great, honestly cannot recommend enough and the food is to die for. Would never go anywhere else.

This is a lovely pub, nicely decorated and adorned with memorabilia of the game of cricket. Good seating areas and a decent bar. Food looked good...although on my visit I only had a drink. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and actually took time to chat, although I appreciate this was due to the time of day and number of guests. Large garden to the front with plenty of seating and no doubt a crowd magnet on hot summer days. I'll definitely be going back. Recommended for couples, families and groups of friends...or solo visits like my own. UPDATE: Quite bizarrely they have a dedicated, disabled parking bay, directly outside the entrance of this venue. Why bizarrely? It is exactly the same size as every other bay? If the vehicles either side park on the lines, then exiting or entering your vehicle can be VERY difficult?

Haven't been back since a bad ustomet service experience with previous owner over three years ago. We heard that this owner had sold up and new couple had taken over 3 months ago during Covid lockdown. Although we are still very wary of going to pubs again and only when we can distance outside. Wow how pleasantly surprised we were when we made a visit at teatime tonight. Car park surfaced one way in, garden total makeover with distanced tables, inside pub all distance safety and one way in out system with waiter/waitress service outside to the garden. So impressed by Manager/Owner not sure who he was but very pleasant, bargained us safely explaining the system for being served. Will definitely become regulars again. Well done new owners and not forgetting the female serving staff into the garden, they were very special with great customer service and very pleasant personalities 😀 Michele and Andy

The pub layout is good and nicely decorated. The food (lunch) was also good however there was a considerable delay in being served. Yes, the pub was busy but either the reservations should have been timed further apart or the kitchen should have taken on more staff. Worth a visit but keep your fingers crossed.

Husband decided to treat us to a Sunday lunch and it certainly didn't disappoint! I don't usually like having a roast dinner out as its never as good as what you can do at home, but this was perfect! Husband had roast pork and I had 1/2 chicken and was both cooked beautifully! Lovely veg, cauliflower cheese, huge homemade yorkshire puds and crispy spuds to die for!! Then we pushed the boat out and had a dessert too, hubby had the homemade brownie and I had the creme brule, was delicious! Renovations also look very stylish and modern, also felt very safe in the current situation regarding the COVID outbreak. Service was also superb, will definately be back! This pub is one of the nicest pubs I have ever been in. The landlord welcomed us, and asked if we were eating, let us know what the days specials were. The atmosphere was fantastic the food was very special the landlord and staff were lovely. If I lived locally this would be my regular but unfortunately I live 150 miles away. Well worth a visit and I hope to visit again when in the area.

Firstly need to start by saying that not only did the management and his team squeeze in a 10 person booking with 30 minutes notice on a busy Sunday, but they did it with such grace that it seemed like something they did every day. We struggled to find a last minute booking and my partner found this place, phoned and asked after nearly 10 other places turning us down. The manager was happy to squeeze us in and 30 minutes later we arrived to our reserved table and special greeting from the manager. Seated immediately and drinks ordered they seemed to be happy to fit us in on a busy Sunday afternoon when noone else would. The food order was taken quickly and was out quickly despite us being only a one of the many parties having Sunday dinner. Now the only complaint that was made was by my elderly Nan about one tough potato out of 10 meals. As she a renowned for complaining we didn't pay much attention however it is worth mentioning that the manager was not happy about the tough potato or my Nan's unhappiness with the quality of her roasties and within in 2 minutes he'd come back with a big fresh bowl of roasties, more than she originally had, extra gravy and another knife. Now I wouldn't normally bring this up as my Nan is always complaining but I think it is noteworthy how the team responded to her (indircet) moans. I want to make it clear that my Nan nor anyone on the table directly complained, that actually a waitress had overhead her moaning, and the management took it upon themselves to ensure her tough tattie was rectified, immediately by bringing out fresh potatoes and gravy for her. Needless to say she didn't make another complaint. Anyway, the food and the service was fantastic at such short notice, and I would thoroughly recommend this wonderful little place to anyone passing by or fancy some top notch service and food for reasonable prices. Really great place will definitely come again and thank you so much for your wonderful service.

This pub is back operating at the top of its game. Have just enjoyed a wonderful su day lunch with the family. I had the blue cheese baked mushrooms, followed by the roast beef and the rhubarb soufle to finish up. It was all excellent, really great. Its a lovely country pub with super staff and i highly recommend you give it a try. Booking is recommended on Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday lunch time.

My dad and I go out for lunch here regularly. The service is impeccable (as soon as we arrive the waitress brings out our usual drinks) and the food is totally delicious. We nearly always order from the specials menu which is diverse and always offers something that you can't wait to try. I cannot rate this place highly enough. It was a gastronomic treat, a corner of England where service still remains something to be proud of. With a range of drinks to suit any discerning quaffer and a menu that contains excellently prepared staples, along with mouth-wateringly delicious specials - there is something for everybody.
