Traditional pub, nicely decorated and atmospheric. The food was really tasty and good portion sizes and we felt it was value for money. Staff were friendly. We had gammon egg and chips (3eggs!) I had lamb shank which was lovely and we had sticky toffee pudding and coconut and lime cheesecake- both very nice. Recommend ✅

Have been to The Forest Home a few times but never really felt the need to write a review before. Eating there this evening was a delight. We ordered two drinks at the bar and our meals and took our seats. About 15 minutes later I had a rare 16oz steak, chips, onion rings, grilled tomato, mushroom and side salad placed in front of me. My partner had The Forest Home burger and she said it was great... but I'm a simple fellow and steak is life. Waitresses couldn't have been more attentive. Very Covid secure in this time of uncertainty. Will definitely eat there again!

Stayed overnight in my Campervan (they are part of the Britstop network), couldn't have been made more welcome. Evening meal was really tasty and there is a good variety of dishes on the menu. Very friendly and attentive staff.

Sunday lunch on mother's day with the family.Great meals as always then sit in the garden on a great sunny afternoon with granddaughter enjoying the play area. What could be better. Plenty car parking, well looked after and hospitality at its best .

We visited whilst staying in the area... Friendly staff, didn't speak to any locals but they seemed ok..... The food was excellent, I had Whitebait starter and a Seafood spaghetti off the specials menu for the main both dishes were really good and the portions were generous... Marvellous

Always had a lovely meal at this lovely traditional pub on the edge of the New Forest. Today we enjoyed the lunchtime offer of 2 meals fir £15 which is fantastic value. The wild mushroom spaghetti was stunning, highly recommend a visit. Dog friendly & efficient friendly staff. A firm favourite.

Nice outdoor seating. Get the app and order and pay at the table. Great! The cheese and bacon burger was brilliant. A big chunk of beef, tasty bacon and melted cheese, delicious! Chips tasted great and the mixed salad with dressing was so much better than the usual side salad you often get with a burger. Will be returning.

Absolutely amazing. I would eat here every single day if I could. I had the steak and it is honestly the best steak I've ever had. Seasoned subtlety, cooked to perfection and the chips are thick, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Can't fault it. It's a lovely place with cozy yet modern interior. Nice and warm.

A little local gem. Our friend just moved down the road and we popped in for dinner today. I rang ahead to see if we needed to book. We didn't so said would be in in about half an hour. When we arrived the barman greeted us and referred to earlier call. Customer service was fantastic. The food was amazing. I had the steak and the other two had roasts. Food was fresh and delicious. Went if for a couple of coffees after a long day of cleaning our flat before moving out. The service was great with very good social distancing in place. The coffees were lovely and the home-made pretzels were to die for. It was so good we took our landlords back here for a drink later! We are just sorry to discover it as we move out of the area! =)

We enjoyed a Sunday roast at The Forest Home yesterday and were very impressed with the service of the young gentlemen behind the bar whose attentive service was exemplary. Had a great meal there yesterday. Wonderfull to see a pub busy in the current situation with families enjoying an evening out. Normally we would score on the ambience, service and food, but now the covid precautions are top of our list; we need to feel safe before we can relax and enjoy. The Forest Home had a simple effective booking-in system, a one way system, multiple hand wash stations and effective barriers at the bar. It was well thought out and well implemented and we felt protected and able to enjoy our meal.

Good pub. Plenty of room and nice inside, outside seating is okay and a playground is good for kids. Food is expensive but most seemed happy with it. The homemade burger with cheese seemed small and cheep (not homemade) and it was in a cheap brioche bun. Kids burger looked better. £13.50, far too expensive for what I got.

Always an excellent experience at this lovely homely pub. The food is always delicious. Specials of 2 meals for £15 is very good value. Staff are always cheerful and happy, nothing is too much trouble l, especial the young pretty lady with dark hair, very nice indeed. When we visit that area, it's a must to go there. See you soon! x

Absolutely lovely salt and pepper squid, and my mum enjoyed her mushroom stroganoff immensely. Beautiful flowers and presentation in the restaurant, and some great Halloween decoration! Friendly and welcoming staff with a gorgeous dog going to and fro. Highly recommended!

Place looked great but we didn't experience either good service nor good food. Food (4 of us) came out at different times. My lasagne was cold. Sent it back and it came back barely heated through. Clearly been scrapped off and then back on to the plate. When my son's lasagne arrived (later) it was no better. 2 burgers came without relish and pickles. Not great either. Maybe hit on a bad night, although they weren't that busy, but won't be going back. Shame.

One of many pubs in area that we use to play in the crib league . Beer good as is red wine. Have used for sunday lunch which is also very good. Lighting annoying though. Supposed to be mood lighting. It puts me in a mood . Staff are friendly and service is good.

My first visit to this place. Don't be fooled by the outside, inside it is a very cosy, country style pub, with fairy lights and a rustic look. The food portions were huge and the service was incredibly friendly. We warmed ourselves at the open log fire. Will definitely return.

This is by far the best pub food in the area. Always happy and friendly staff. Lovely atmosphere. Large garden for those upcoming summer days. All dishes are homemade which is not common these days. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Good value-for-money food (nothing too fancy, but good portions), good service, nice atmosphere, and a good sized garden with childrens play area. They do have a very good selection of ales though which is a plus if you're a beer drinker. Pub quiz Thursday nights (£1 entry) and breakfasts at the weekend (though I've not had one of these, I'm pretty sure that they will be good!!).

This public house is last in a world gone by still have a dart board and quizzes food is acceptable but a bit highly priced good place to finish a hard working day but noisy on a Friday when locals like to sing to the music the best thing is Jan the barmaid who always remembers you and what you drink.

The place has changed for the better, although if you want food you need to book, downside is that the beer garden is close to the main road and the Esso Oil refinery, so dust, fumes, smell and noise at times not very pleasant.
