Reviews of The Hampshire Bowman

Really good country pub. Good service by friendly staff and a great roast dinner with possibly the best Yorkshire pudding I've ever had!
Also dog friendly garden and a veggie option on the roast
A few weeks later and I've just had the fish and chips
Best bit of battered fish I've had for a long time, delicious!
D. A.
Food was good in this traditional country pub. A great selection of ciders as well as real ales and a good choice of food from bar snacks to a full 3-cpurse meal. Plenty of parking and a friendly welcome awaits you.
D. A.
First time here. Fab ales and cider. Perfect place for a drink on a nice summer's day!
G. S.
We were invited here by family for a Sunday dinner, roads approaching this pub are very very narrow but its well worth the anxiety I had whilst driving there. I had a roast beef and it was absolutely amazing. The gravy was full of flavour and the meat cooked perfectly. Lovely selection of vegetables with the roast and we also had a side of cauliflower cheese which tasted amazing. Best roast dinner I have had from a pub/restaurant. Staff were great, family friendly pub that have accessible toilets and baby changing and is also dog friendly! We will definitely be coming back soon!! Thank you for an amazing Sunday dinner!
j. j.
Visited for lunch today and chose the beef and lentil stew from the specials board; it was utterly delicious. The Bowman is undoubtedly the best pub in the area and has consistently served great food throughout the pandemic. Nestling in the beautiful South Downs, it is the perfect escape for walking and a great pub experience.
H. C.
Great pub - food is always delicious. And huge. Look at the size of my salad!
The garden is large and perfect for children to run around in.
Brilliant selection of beers too!
C. D.
We were fortunate to have found the pub after having missed out on trying to get something to eat at other pubs near by. We had just done a nine mile walk through the countryside and to say the least we had got covered in quite a bit of mud. The food was delicious and the staff were excellent, I would highly recommend the pub to family and friends.
I. N.
Love this 'proper' pub. Been going for over 30 years. The place has changed a bit (unsurprisingly) but still consistently good range of well kept beer. Food nice too. I hope it survives forever.
T. R.
This is a great place to sit outside in the summer for a nice refreshing pint! There was a really good selection of beers and ciders plus the food was also very nice.
The staff were very friendly and the service was quick. Would highly recommend!
J. A.
Great choice of ale and ciders from local breweries. Good sized garden with some children's play equipment. Friendly staff and a lovely setting. Will be returning!
P. R.
This has always been an exemplary pub for as long as I can remember. Nice setting, unspoilt interior and some of the finest beer, served straight from the cask. Excellent boozer. Wish it were nearer to Warsash.
S. 8.
Very impressed by the food here. The quality was top notch and the portions plentiful. They have a good selection of ales to wash it down. Win win
K. F.
Nice rustic pub with a relaxed atmosphere. We had a lovely lamb shank Sunday roast followed by creme brulee. (One small criticism was that the vegetables were a little too al dente, but hardly the end of the world.)
M. H.
The pub is simply amazing.. but, at the moment at least, is tragically understaffed. Food can take over an hour, more so at the weekend. But when it arrives it's lovely.
S. P.
Great pub, large garden. Real ales and tasty food. Very friendly staff.
D. L.
Charming country pub off the beaten path. A friend suggested meeting for a pint. I was a bit dubious at finding the pub, especially at night, but it was an easy drive off the B3035, as long as you don't mind single-track roads with passing places. That said, it is well worth a visit. There are two halves to the pub like many pubs used to have. The main dining room was crowded and this was a Wednesday evening. There is a good variety of ales on offer. I loved the decor including two working old-fashioned clocks, one of which chimes. In keeping with the name, there were several bows on display. The barmaid was friendly and cheerful. I'll definitely be going back.
L. C.
Thoroughly recommend this beautiful pub! Food is exquisite, the atmosphere is amazing. Nice, traditional, warm pub. A fantastic garden for children to play in and very dog friendly! The small details makes this pub stand out.
G. G.
Great food, great selection of Craft Ale and Cider. Lovely inside the pub and has a fantastic outdoor area for kids and dogs. Love the no phones rule inside the pub!
J. B.
Lovely Turkey Xmas meal, friendly service. Perfect.
C. B.
Awesome pub, fantastic beer and superb food!
N. M.
Great country pub in the classic mould. Sat in the bar area and met with an old friend over a beer. Some really good beers on tap. Easy going vibe and friendly staff.
S. B.
Superb pub, retaining a fine period charm, with an ever changing range of ales and ciders, coupled with fine food, and friendly staff.
G. S.
Lovely Country Pub tucked away in the countryside. Easy to find but be aware the approach road is very very narrow with not many passing places. Popular with cyclists, and walkers alike. A big beer garden with plenty of tables. Great staff and a good reasonably priced menu.
L. C.
Welcome great, Goodens Gold superb, so glad it's on permanently, happily sunny seat on a thank Goodens it's Friday
C. B.
Quirky pub, plenty of local ales and ciders on tap, dog friendly
N. W.
Food was fantastic & some lovely beers 🍻. Staff where very welcoming and knowledgeable about the history. Highly recommend it. 👍💯👏
S. W.
Really lovely olde world pub excellent food and service. WARNING mobile phone free pub
R. P.
This is a real hidden gem! Weave down the single track lane and at many points you’ll question if you’ve taken a wrong turn. Keep going!
Fantastic pub with a great selection of beverages. The food is also of a really high standard.
This place comes into its own though in the summer with a large beer garden and climbing frame for the kids.
L. P.
Fantastic food, great garden & friendly staff.
J. P.
The best Sunday roast, cosy, friendly atmosphere in a traditional pub. My favourite place for Sunday roast!
E. S.
Authentic countryside pub, with beautiful garden! Food portions were big and we particularly enjoyed the Monday's pub quiz!
C. R.
Quite simply my favourite place to eat. A 200 year old establishment, set in beautiful surroundings. Original menu, none of this chain pub rubbish, well cooked and presented. They have been in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide for 25 years.
C. D.
Fantastic Sunday Roast great chioce of Real Ale good old fashioned Country pub 5 star
D. J.
Disappointed sadly. Looked forward to
Visiting this pub based on the views but the reality on our visit was not what the reviews had indicated we should expect. Whilst the portions of food were great, sadly the roast gammon, Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes looked like they had been there waiting to be served for quite some time, the roasts were almost just the outer skin with no potato left they had been kept warm for so long!
A. B.
Fantastic traditional boozer with kegged real ale and great food. Beautiful rural location with massive garden and loads of tables. 2 years on from my first review, it's still a great pub!
P. H.
Great place to visit. Set in a very rural are
This is a freehouse, so has a good selection of real ales, ciders and usual lagers.
A good selection of sandwiches and hot meals.
Must be one of the biggest gardens of any pub I have visited.
Garden is divided and has children's playground in one part.
It's dog friendly and we'll worth the visit.
It's certainly one not to be missed
J. J.
Best food n service ever for the last 5 years plus, unfortunately today tasteless fish, cold peas my friend had nice cod but a whitebait rice with ginger. It wasn't written on the board that there was whitebait in the salad. Definitely no ginger. Tasted awful, no apology from girl behind bar worst meal there ever
M. B.
Great food and service. Very dog friendly. Lovely atmosphere
C. L.
Fabulous pub, best food, drink and very friendly staff. Thanks for everything, we'll be back 😁😍
M. C.
Lovely big garden ideal for young children. Plenty of parking but single lanes with passing points to reach it. Worth it though. Decent pub food and selection of drinks incl. non alcoholic.
F. 7.
Lovely place. Friendly staff. However if you have the roast dinner then make sure your dentures are fastened.. The veg is not cooked enough and rock hard! I don't mean al dente I mean really under cooked and under seasoned. Shame as its a nice venue.
C. K.
Great roasts go there often. Dog friendly lovely outdoors and indoors
M. K.
Great food. The large Whitebait is massive... Fire is warm. Great pub.
D. W.
Beautiful little english country pub. Low ceilings, open fire, friendly staff and a great menu! Stunning little gem near bishops Waltham. The game pie was recommended by the bar maid and I can say I've never had a pie like it. Monumental slab of fresh cooked pie stuffed to the brim with meat! Will be going back here again soon!
D.
Excellent choice of local ales. Nice friendly local ...
C. W.
Really gorgeous country pub. Fab range of beers. Very generous food portions, whitebait was amazing. Great garden. Dog friendly.
C. B.
A lovely friendly pub, we stopped here for lunch during a bike ride and sat outside. Food was delicious and a good size. Other food that came out also looked so good. Will go back there and try a main meal one evening in the future.
A. S.
Really big garden area and well set up with new restrictions. We turned up at 4:30 and hoped to eat but the kitchen doesn't open until 6pm and we were all getting cold before that so ended up going elsewhere for take out. Menu looked good so would have eaten if the kitchen had opened a bit earlier, especially this early in the season.
C. L.
It's not in the middle of nowhere. It's on the edge of somewhere. Proper country pub with an ever-changing selection of real ales and ciders, and great food. Massive garden for the summer months and proper log fires for the winter. This is a mobile phone free zone... If your phone or tablet makes a noise, or if you make a call indoors, there's a fine to pay to charity - it's one of the dwindling number of pubs where conversation still rules. That's not to say you can't use your devices there - they even have WiFi - just keep them on silent. They have a selection of board games to play if that takes your fancy too. Very much dog friendly and located in the middle of prime walking, cycling and horse riding country. Stunning sunsets. A fantastic pub.
T. B.
We where there with a walking group of 11 and the service was quick, staff was very helpful and the food was very good.
D.
Amazing pub, great beer and full of history
A. B.
It would have got 5 stars, but there was no dog bar person. As such, I feel mislead
C. W.
Great country pub serving good food and great beers. Lovely garden to relax in. Warning: mobile phones are frowned upon if they make any noise.
A. W.
Very good service for us with all our kids, great environment, good food reasonably priced. No phone signal out in the boonies but no deal breaker, great outside play area for kiddos.
W. G.
Great range of still ciders, and real ales. Great place to stop halfway through a walk. Staff friendly and nice. Food served but when very busy can be a wait. Food very nicw though.
H. M.
This is a 5 star pub. The garden is lovely in the summer, they grow some of their own vegetables and herbs which they use in the cooking.
The food is absolutely amazing, the Sunday dinner is excellent and very filling. The main menu food is also great and very good value for money.
The staff are always friendly and helpful. What I also like about the pub is no mobiles phones in the public bar, so people do tend to chat to each other rather than being on their phones.
Would recommend a visit and something to eat, you won't be disappointed.
M. J.
This is a great country pub. Lovely garden offering shade if you need it. Lunch was nice and gvfm and as always, if you're a real ale drinker, then you're spoilt for choice.
e. h.
It was a good pub with an interesting selection of beers served directly from the barrels and excellent food. Set in lovely countryside.
J. B.
Lovely food, great beer, dog friendly
H. H.
Mark has done so well to keep going during COVID. He follows all rules but still manages a very welcoming beer garden. Great beer, cider and grub. A classic venue.
K. J.
Great pub. We did a circular 5.5 mile walk from the pub and ended afternoon sharing a ploughman's in the garden. Nothing was too much trouble and staff were friendly and attentive without being over the top. Great management of the pandemic restrictions which felt organised and safe.
G.
A true delight found along the back roads. This is the second time I have been here, and the First time I have eaten. The food is top notch and very well priced and piping hot! A selection of Ales is always good to see. Early evening there were a lot of friendly people about. You couldn't ask for a better setting. The staff were very welcoming. Its good to see the signs about mobile phones. WHO NEEDS THEM when having a nice pint, nice food in a nice Pub!. Shall be back. Thank you all.
a. p.
Such a Lovely country pub , great range of different beers & ciders lovely large garden area to enjoy, very friendly staff.
D. G.
Lovely relaxed family atmosphere. Great beer garden for the kids to play in, excellent food and real good ales for the dad's 👍👍
N. J.
Very friendly staff. Traditional menu well cooked.I was on a long walk and enjoyed the large portions. Attractive garden in picturesque location.
R. R.
Situated in the countryside, this pub has a lot to offer. The owner, staff and locals are the friendliest bunch. The food is of the best quality and value for money. The beauty of the surrounds is a lot to take in and more than one visit will not do it justice. In summer your kids can run wild in a large garden while you relax and just enjoy the lovely aura.
M. C.
Have been visiting this pub for 30 years so a bit biased but.... ....still as wonderful as always. In these strange COVID times the arrangements are efficient and still provide a friendly atmosphere. Beer is always an interesting selection and excellent quality.
j. B.
Motorbike club meet. Good beer and though busy plenty of space. Service excellent.
Have visited previously and am sure to visit again.
M. T.
Great food, large garden, really helpful friendly staff. Was really busy but very well organised and the lovely food was delivered quite quickly.
A. C.
Super pub with plenty of garden space for a relaxing meal or drinks Very friendly and attentive staff. Would thoroughly recommend
P. B.
Food was very good, I didn't try the range of real ales, we had tea and latte.
M. D.
Good pub, scenic location.
C. P. (.
Best Sunday roast so far in the area. Nice staff.coukd di with sorting out the inside seeting areas.Gets crowded.
R. H.
Lovely old feel to this pub lost on a bend in Dundridge lane. Beer comes straight out of the barrel. Craft ciders, too. Popular for pub food. Large pub garden. Popular in summer but great to visit on a winter evening when they have real fires going. Staff are friendly and helpful.
G. P.
An amazing pub. Very dog friendly. Locally sourced food, especially meats. Excellent beer and cider menu, mostly poured straight from the barrel set just behind the bar. No messing about here. A proper country pub worthy of a visit any time. Love it.
O. S.
Quality old fashioned how it should be country pub. Great selection of ales ciders and more. Food is spot on too. I pick my father up from here often after he finishes beating and I always stay for a half. Look forward to another Sunday in the sun here.
A. C.
Had a very good meal at the Hampshire Bowman pub, near to Dundridge, Hampshire. The chicken with apricot stuffing came with asparagus, sauteed potatoes and a very nice Hollandaise sauce. Followed with a lemon and lime posset with a zesty twang on the tongue. Not overly expensive and would say the prices are fairly average for most country pubs.
Staff very helpful and obliging. Liked the ambience of the place and will definitely go back.
W. K.
We found a “little Gem” of a Pub, down a country lane.
We went to the “Hampshire Bowman” for the first time with a family member. What a lovely little pub, Good food, clean toilets and very polite staff. I only wish that I could give them some more star’s it was that good.
I had the “fish and chips” which was really nice and a good portion size. Please remember to leave room to have a pudding, the “Bread and Butter pudding” is the best I have ever tasted.
The one thing to note is the “Very Narrow Lane” that leads to this little gem of a pub, but just drive very slowly and you will be O.K
M. K.
Great pub food, convivial atmosphere, attentive staff AND Goodens Gold!!
D. S.
Love this Country Pub, fine food,
Long tables, no TV or Jukebox,
Real log fires.
Its good to just drink from their fine sellection of Beers and Ciders and just talk. very Dog friendly too.
G. P.
Excellent Sunday roast at a competitive price. Good beer and wine in a unique country setting.
A. H.
Lovely ambience and great beer.
P. S.
Great rural location alongside a quiet country lane. Wide range of beers; friendly staff; good pub menu and generous servings. Decent parking, big garden to the rear and bench-tables to the front as well. A very nice setting. Will come again.
K. M.
Had a fantastic reminisce at the Hampshire Bowman, at 18 years of age I joined the Army based in Bulford Wiltshire, so not too far to hitchhike in those days down to the Bowman ran by my father (I was born Jan 1954, you do the sums), met Tim Park, Mary, David and Mark the Landlord, chatted to Tim and Mary reminiscing about Stan Montague who renamed and ran the Bowman from early 70's to 80 if memory serves me, it was a pleasure to chat and meet some new friends, hope to be back ASAP, oh, and still a great country pub, unspoilt, a pub as it should be, a "proper" British Pub not only worth a visit, worth a detour! Brilliant 😊😁 very happy 😁
M. C.
Great location set on its own in the country side acceded via country lanes. Cask beers serving real ales and the food was home made/cooked. We were made to feel welcome and I will be returning.
R. P.
Terrific little pub offering some brilliant real ales and ciders...many from wooden casks...on display behind the bar. Not the cheapest place to enjoy a few drinks, but the no mobile phone rule, the lack of live sports, the absence of muzak...these missing things, take you back to a more relaxed and stressless era.
Lovely large garden, with plenty of seating and an ample car park...with extra spaces in the next field, should the crowds appear.
Great menu with lots of choice and much locally sourced ingredients, slightly above average prices, but overall good value.
Highly recommended for families, couples, friends and groups.
But don't forget to switch those mobiles off before you visit.
M. S.
Generous portion of fish & chips, not special in any way, but good. Good selections of beer.
E. N.
Superb, friendly pub.
Visited this new pub with 2 friends on our bikes last night. What a friendly place. The cask ales were SUPERB and the food was delicious with a generous portion size! :-)
Definitely up there with the best pubs we have visited - a bit like a larger Harrow Inn. Top banana!
R. W.
Fantastic country pub, retaining loads of character with some great ales and food at reasonable prices.
k. l.
Very nice lunch in comfortable atmosphere.
G. B.
Absolutely lovely English country pub. With a large beer garden and extremely helpful friendly staff. A great choice of traditional ales and ciders with other standard pub drinks available. Food is also great and fairly priced
R.
Great selection of beer and whoever served me knew all about what they were serving. It has a friendly atmosphere and a ban on mobile phones, which is an interesting idea.
The food was OK, but was a bit too greasy for us.
N. T.
Always loved The Bowman. Always made welcome. Food excelled and well priced, but for drinkers or real beer and cider, there is no better place.
P. M.
Nice place to visit for walkers and all. Great food, good service and very polite adequately coping with 2 metre rule, brilliant
J. P.
Absolutely fantastic. Great beer and cider. Molly was awesome. Lovely location. Looking forward to returning.
P. M.
Visited there yesterday lunchtime with three members of my family. I will definitely recommend it and will be visiting it again on my frequent visits to my daughter who lives in Southampton. The atmosphere was great, the service outstanding, the food tremendous and so reasonably priced. As it was such a lovely day, the place was very busy but there was no delay in obtaining our three course lunch. This was served with a smile! Having coffee outside afterwards in the lovely garden was terrific. Thank you.
L. S.
Lovely independent pub serving real ales and delicious food. Great atmosphere with plenty of games to play, friendly locals, a nice outside space and no phones - perfect!
E. F.
Went here after using the pub walks app, we did a lovely hour and half walk with the dog then had a lovely meal here while our toddler played with all the cars in the garden and our dog slept undee then table. Thoroughly enjoyed our day
J. Y.
Authentic pub in the middle of nowhere vibe with consistently good and varied specials. Generous portions with local ales and a small but good selection of real cider. Mobile phone use inside the pub is discouraged, in a good way, which helps maintain the vintage atmosphere.
E. D.
We (hubby, mum (who is disabled) and I) decided to go out for a Sunday roast dinner. We took a drive out towards Bishops Waltham area and thought we'd take a chance on one of the pubs that are signposted from the main road. The lane to get to the pub was over a mile - I started to think the pub had gone and the sign must have been old - when we got there the car park was almost full, the pub had made a disabled space and were able to park close to the pub. There appeared to be a lovely beer garden, lots of tables with big umbrellas. We went into the pub and saw signs that said the pub was a mobile phone free zone - what a nice idea - a donation to charity is required if your phone rings. We ordered a roast dinner each (priced around £12) and we were told that there would be a 45 minute wait so we grabbed some dominoes from the games cupboard and sat down to play (it must be over 35 years since I last played dominoes). The food arrived - it looked amazing - I had shoulder of lamb, I couldn't believe how much meat I had !! Perfectly cooked, the bone from the meat came out as clean as a whistle - the roast potatoes were home made, there were parsnips, veg ( which was on the crunchy side for my liking but other people like it so fair enough), a massive Yorkshire pudding and beautiful gravy. Coming away my mum remarked that the roast dinner was the best she has ever eaten from any restaurant and I have to admit - I quite agree!
J. S.
Brilliant pub. Friendly staff, great beer, lush food. Love the no mobile rule!! If you want to get away from it all, this is the place to be 💖
P. G.
Delicious food and a sizeable selection of ales at a great pub embedded a little way into the South Downs. They had the wood burners going as it was February when we went, but the sun was shining and we sat outside where it was surprisingly warm in the sun. I did spot that there were blankets, heaters and umbrellas available if needed. We were able to walk the dog in the nearby fields after.
R. H.
Lovely pub, great location, decent food
K. A.
A random pop in with my two children and our dog. Very friendly, freshly prepared food. Good real ale and ciders. Extremely dog friendly. Mobiles on silent or you're fined £1 😊
M.
My absolute favourite pub, excellent food and a massive and ever changing selection of ales and ciders on barrel.
The pub is incredible dog friendly and has a huge rear garden and play space for children which makes it a great place to go for family gatherings
P. G.
I love this traditional british pub. It have good old fashioned standards with pleasant great service and good food with great portion size at a great price. Superb selection of well kept beer too.
g. p.
Used to love heading out to this place on the motorbike, had more than one close shave on the little country lanes both going there & coming back, it was always a lovely pint .
J. R.
Was ok, we asked about food and a play area for the kids, the play area was great, but upon arrival we hadn't been told the kitchen want open all day, it was ennoying as we previously had asked about food and allergens etc
J. H.
Fantastic pub. Best ale I've had since relaxation of lockdown and lovely staff.
S. l.
Lovely place to have a quiet drink or some food.. bar staff are very friendly and the pub itself is extremely dog friendly but mobile phone unfriendly..they ask you to put your phone on silent and fine you a pound if it goes off! Brilliant idea if you ask me 😁
S. S.
It seems to have turned around since my last visit some time ago. We had an excellent meal for a reasonable price and the staff went out of their way to accommodate a gluten free option.
A. R.
Great location tucked away of the main roads but fully worth it once there.
Wonderful old building with great outdoor seating area to sit eat and drink.
Food was perfect tasty hot and filling what more could you want .
C. S.
Stopped here while out for a walk, had the Ploughman's and a beer 🍺, excellent! Will definitely return!
J. N.
Excellent food cooked when ordered, so takes a little longer but well worth the wait. Decent prices too. Friendly staff, large car park and gardens.
A. S.
Has been a favourite of friends and family for many years. Excellent food and bar. Large garden. Good location for walkers and dog owners.
A. B.
Situated in a glorious spot, offering excellent cask ale and hearty, well-priced food. The staff are friendly and efficient. Roaring log fires and plenty of room for dogs.
Would live here if I could.
R. C.
A genuine lovely pub! Really dog friendly and also non mobile friendly!
S. H.
Food definitely hit and miss. Crab cakes were disgusting but Strogonoff was good apparently
I. P.
Possibly the best pub in Hampshire. Great cask beers and ciders with superb good value food. An excellent outdoor space and garden.
A regular visitor since 1975!
A. T.

My family and I have just enjoyed a very nice lunch at the Hampshire Bowman. The food was very good and the real ale excellent. The staff friendly and polite, will certainly visit again.
J. P.
Lovely old pub and nice garden. Food average
C. B.
I love this pub, the beer, the food and the service are all excellent and it oozes all that is best about British Pubs. Outside there are lovely gardens and beautiful views great for a warm Sunday afternoon or a wet and cold January or anytime actually. Enjoy!
D. B.
Had nice lunch here indoors, pleasant staff, good food.
A. B.
Great pub garden, great beer, we had a fantastic time!
S.
Don't miss this gem of a quintessentially English pub in idyllic surroundings. Great welcome, atmosphere, fab food, patio and garden. Toys for children to play witg and drive around in and hound friendly.
J. G.
A much-loved traditional pub not far from Bishops Waltham, popular for its friendly staff, excellent food and warm social atmosphere. Every July, the pub holds its annual three day beer festival, where visitors can expect a wide variety of ales and ciders, as well as live music. The Bowman is the ideal place to meet friends of an evening, relax after a dog walk (dogs are always welcome) or to enjoy a generous Sunday roast with the family (but do book ahead). Unlike most pubs, their car park is huge, so there's absolutely no excuse not to pay them a visit.
G. T.
Always have a wonderful time here, especially the Mummas play on the last Saturday before Christmas. Dog friendly, kid friendly, good food, well kept ales. Big garden with outside smoking area
R. P.
Good beer Good food Good and friendly staff. Lots of space in garden.
P. S.
Rode to the Hampshire Bowman Pub and had a really nice Sunday pork roast and a nice pint of real ale! Friendly staff and reasonable prices! Happy days!
N. G.
Great range of beers, ciders etc. Good quality simple pub food. Lovely setting and good garden in summer. Never disappoints.
M. B.
Good quality pub food. Excellent garden for children. Beautiful setting. Good beer. Friendly service.
M. D.
Great evening. Warm friendly atmosphere, smashing food good value. Fab range of beers and ciders. Top marks.
L. O.
Lovely place.
Food is always tasty, selection of local beer on tap.
Friendly service.
Possibly the least pretentious pub in Hampshire.
Bike friendly.
J. P.
Lovely Pub with a huge Garden and nice real ale and ciders
K. P.
Love this traditional country dog friendly pub. Even when sitting outside there is a lovely heater and blankets to keep you warm on a cold winters day.
P. H.
Lovely traditional pub with a great atmosphere, massive beer garden, friendly staff, delicious food and the best selection of beers I've seen for a long time!
C. C.
Fabulous real English pub.
Mark the landlord has incredible patience dealing the great unwashed and still runs the best pub in this solar system.
L. S.
