Loveliest pub around. 😍 I consider it my local even though I gotta walk past at least one other pub to get there. 🤣 Such a friendly happy place, feels like a country pub dropped in the middle of the town... But still plenty lively of an evening too.

I really liked the Sunday lunch I had here. I was tempted by the pie of the day, as Lamb in mint sauce would go well with a roast. I'm glad I did, as it was probably the best pastry I have ever had on a pie. The filling didn't disappoint either, succulent lamb in a mint gravy. The pastry tasted very buttery, and I was told it was gluten free, so hats off to their suppliers. I can't wait to try their other offerings. Absolutely brilliant and thoroughly recommended.

Great local secret - a few years ago, this great pub went through a bad patch and I stopped going. A friend and I went a couple months ago after reading favourable reviews and we went again last week. Great, friendly service with a variety of ales on offer. It's not easy to find as it is tucked away on a back street. They have a small car park round the back but I usually park on the street. Well worth a visit. Update 19.06.2019 - a friend and I were there last evening, after 9.30, and were disappointed to see so few customers. The gentleman serving, possibly one of the landlords, was polite and friendly, so I hope the lack of customers was just down to the miserable weather.

We'd just completed on our house sale and were effectively homeless for a couple of hours. We popped in for a coffee and to get out of the rain. The pub was clean and homely, the staff were lovely, the dog was made very welcome, and we had a very nice lunch.

Little gem of a pub that serves excellent food, good beer and the hosts are happy, talkative and fun. The Sunday roasts are superb and the pies are good too. Nothing is ever too much for the staff. Everything a pub should be.

Stunning local pub! Super friendly owners and staff in a relaxed atmosphere. Extremely dog friendly with treats on the bar and water bowls available. Large selection of Wadworth ales and lagers, bottled beers, wines and spirits. Food is excellent too with Sunday lunches being very popular. Highly recommended.

**2021 edit** these guys are still amazing, and even cater to non-dairy eaters such as myself! Had the first chocolate fudge cake in over a year and I am so happy!! Absolutely love coming here! The food is lovely and the staff are very friendly. Been here a couple of time with family and don't have a bad word to say.

I've only ever eaten here at Christmas (must change that as they do a lovely menu). The food was really tasty, especially for a fussy eater like myself. The staff are always friendly and welcoming (especially Nicky with the antlers 🦌) and nothing was to much trouble.

Country pub in the back roads of Bitterne. If I'd been blindfolded and taken to the Humble Plumb of had thought I was in the New Forest, but no, I'm in the backstreets of Bitterne with a decent selection of beers, ciders and gin. The staff are friendly and it's welcoming to dogs, so welcoming that they even have a doggy menu. There's outdoor seating and in the summer it gets really packed. Definitely will go back to try out the food next time.

Had an absolutely amazing morning at the Plumb before Southampton Pride festival. Free breakfast bap tea and coffee, free face painting and they laid on taxis for us to town. Lovely staff and beautiful pub with hanging baskets of flowers all over. Cant wait for our next visit!

Pub has enthusiastic new management as of about 2013 and now a really solid choice for drinks and food. New menu is excellent and updated frequently with a good selection and reasonable prices, there is always a slow cooked option which has never failed to deliver. Awesome to have a decent local pub again.

Great pub, nice staff, nice clientele some interesting ales and good food too. A little fiddly to find if you're not familiar with area or are minus sat nav, as it is quite and off main drag some parking round back either that or on street near by but it is quite so never had any issue with parking on the road.
