The Katsu chicken burger, fries and onion rings was my choice and it was very tasty. I hadn’t had this before but I’m glad I did and recommend it for the slightly spicy flavour. It’s not too spicy but it’s a good amount of heat. The venue is good for meals and plenty of seating, tv’s for sports and all you’d expect from a Greene King pub. Good service and staff at this visit were attentive.

Absolutely fantastic, manager Dylan was wonderful when we had a minor issue. Lovely environment, great food, and considering its a city centre pub a very generous 2 for 1 offer.

Good pub close to the city centre. Staff were pleasant and food was good but overall experience was let down (slightly) by range of real ale - just Greene King IPA when we visited. Food arrived quickly. Music was a bit too load for our taste and you couldn't get away from the Sky Sports screens. Two proper shuffleboards towards the rear were free to use on a Monday.

Mine & my partner's favourite local hangout pub & all the staff are friendly & helpful especially one ( MEG ,she's funny, friendly ,bubbly & will b sad when she leaves to start a new job . Door security are friendly too but in our opinion tho sorry we don't think very professional as they can / should b, as we always see a cpl of them smoking on the job & / or drinking on the door out of a glass ...not a good look to the public or gives out good signal to keep trouble @ bay ..at least grab a quick drink of water from a plastic cup @ the bar ...other than that just the toilets need a re-paint & better hand dryers but overall we enjoy it here & good lay out of tables & t.vs on show plus choice of meals & music is good @ the weekends too x

Pop in a few times a week for my lunch, absolute bargain for the lunch club deal £8.49 for sandwich, chips & a drink? I'm sold! Highly recommended the chicken & bacon sandwich and the hunters chicken toastie. Always fantastic service too.

Had an amazing time at Scholars Arms! I came in for a quick beer and ended up staying for 2 hours playing Shuffleboard and bantering with the polite staff. The food was quick and tasted amazing too. I’m looking forward to my next visit!

Nice and comfortable place for a Sunday lunch. We had a pie and the Sunday roast, both very yummy. We also had a toast but the bread slices where huge and the filling was not enough... It actually tested only like bread. Good for TV sports.

loveliest staff ever last night! We left slug and lettuce because of a not so great experience and being basically shoulder to shoulder with other tables and were surprised of how lovely the security, staff and venue was when we arrived here. Good maintaining of social distancing despite restrictions easing and the music was lush as well😉rate the 2000s bangers. Thanks guys <3

Excellent sports pub. We caught the Chelsea v Man Utd finals here and quite enjoyed the atmosphere. Drinks are reasonably priced. Not many vegetarian options in the food but you can get by. We didn't reserve a table but were lucky to get the last 2 seater table kept aside for walk ins. Especially in Covid times, it's better to make a reservation before you go. The staff and security enforce the mask wearing policy quite firmly and that reassured me about visiting the place. They have a pool table (be careful, this one swallows quite a bit of money) and a shuffleboard if you want to play drunk games :)

Good offers on I went forc1 drink but ended up with 3 because or the deals. Being an absolute lightweight this was more than enough for me so I stumbled out happy and not skint. I even had enough to get myself a burger on the way back to my hotel. Its red hundreds cheaper than any pub in my homeland. Nice atmosphere too not rowdy or too loud but not too quiet either.

Excellent City Pub, Large venue with good clean decor and a great lively atmosphere!. Really friendly attractive and helpful bar staff. Good beer and excellent food...Fish and chips was particularly awsome and good value...Try it!. Highly recommended for a decent Lunch or good night out! About the previous negative comments which I feel are totally unfair, it's a VERY POPULAR busy City centre Pub some people will become drunk and be thrown out, people will throw up in toilets and toilets will leak but if you TOLD the manager he would do his best to fix these problems and make sure you have a great experience like the majority of customers do have....Tattoos and all! Well done to the hard working Bar staff and Managers!

Came here to eat right before a gig at the guildhall. Reasonably priced food and polite and engaging staff. It has an odd mix inside of trying to be a cross over between a sports bar and a music bar, who h didn't work in my opinion, but definitely not a bad place for a pre-show drink. The burgers are ok, but a little dry for my taste. A good selection of beers, ales and other alcohols.

Wow !!yah that's the word for this place,have been here like every weekend since last two years in Southampton,me my cousin's we love this place,yeah it's get very crowded on match days,but still this is the place to hop in,and start your drinks with,there food is not bad either,selections of beer always perfect , also if you feel your beer is flat ,just ask them (they do change it with out hesitations) !they screen all of the sports from cricket , football to golf etc...also they have a lovely pool tables,and proper genre of music to tap your foot in..The is wide big place ,a comfort always..a must try place always.

The frog and parrot is a very nice pub with a lovely atmosphere. I went here with a friend for a drink in the evening and we loved it. It's one of the very few places in Southampton where you can sit outside and enjoy the nice warm summer air.
