G. D.Amazing outdoor area with cheap cocktails and alternative music. Strict Covid rules in place here which is great seeing as how busy it gets. Great tasting pint cocktails; which have unusual colours; great value and amazing value during the happy hours. Popular with students. Table service currently with app.
H. Y.Similar vibes to The Hobbit with a younger audience, they have their own little club dance floor area and great cocktails. A decent outdoor space too. The Shooting Star has massively improved in the last 5 years (new management) and I LOVE the music!! Who doesn't like metal/emo/alt/pop punk/rock eh!

M. C.INCOMPLETE WHEELCHAIR ACCESS
In general it's a good bar, however I put 'not recommended' because the dance floor area is not wheelchair accessible. Luckily I am able to walk a little so with the help of my friends carrying my chair for me I was able to go on it, but many wheelchair users are not able to stand and so would be excluded from this otherwise great space. I feel like this doesn't comply with the 2010 Equality Act which requires businesses to make reasonable adjustments to make sure disabled visitors receive the same service as able-bodied visitors, especially as sometimes entry is charged here. If the dance floor had a ramp then it would be the perfect bar!
Other than the dancefloor, the wheelchair access is good. The man at the door was very helpful and there is an entrance without steps. There's a wheelchair accessible bathroom and there aren't any steps to get to the top decking area. There's plenty of room to move around. I'm hoping they'll be able to install a ramp soon so I can go back.
J. F.I used to love coming here but something has changed recently. The security used to be much more relaxed and friendly. That has been replaced with cameras and questions about clothing on the door. Security walking around the place much more. No DJ Hammy on a Friday anymore which pulled in a really diverse crowd that you couldn't find elsewhere. Feels more like the Hobbit now. It's still a good space for alternative music and people but it's lost a bit of its charm.
K.Great local venue for a Friday or Saturday catch up with your mates. There is often also a DJ on with rock or alternative music.
To those who are complaining about covid rules, get over yourself. The venue have said many times that they would be strict with their one way system and such, so if you don't like it then go somewhere else. I think that are doing an amazing job and there will be more cocktails for me and my buddies. 🍹🍹🍹

A. H.Went along to meet some mates. Paid a fiver to get through the door to then get flat beer. Took the first one back they said sorry it was the glass and that it keeps happening. Beer went flat again. Drank it anyway. Went for another beer not expecting another flat beer but it was. I couldn’t recommend it to anyone unfortunately. However the smoking area in the back is great.

Dropped a star because when we got there other people who had only just got to the bar kept getting served ahead of us and so we had to wait about 10 minutes to get our first drink! It was fine the other times though.

J. A.Plenty of heating outside in a nice pub garden, serve food til 1:30am, (pizza was great and well priced), now apparently open til 3am, good music, two lovely dogs, friendly staff. Hard to fault this place.
If I had to give one bit of criticism, I'd suggest doing beer deals. There were £3 pint cocktails on when I last went, which is fair enough, but not everyone is a fan of cocktails.
To include more people, i.e. those who like bottled beer/cider, WKD/VKs, (even j20/appletiser for designated drivers!), maybe 2 bottles for £5/£5.50 could be an option.

Great staff, and really friendly management. Music choice is rocky, punk, nu metal, that sort of thing.
Only down side is the toilets are whiffy.
Large outside area, so best suited for summer drinking, as it gets quite busy indoors in the colder months.
A.This place has quite a friendly atmosphere.
Most punters I see there were well behaved. I didn't see any bouncer at the doors like some pubs.
There was music being played whiles customers chatted away.
They have a smoking area which is at the back of the building (I personally don't smoke however some of the friends I went with went to smoke).
I think the place could do with a bit of tidying up especially the back sitting area next to the smoking area.
It look quite crowded compounded by the fact that anyone going to utilise the smoking area needs to pass through that part of the building.
This place doesn't look like one of the chains which are well monitored.
Parking at the area is quite restricted and the parking enforcement people will likely issue a fine if you park at residents parking spaces.
Unless you have been shown the location, it can be quite difficult to find (due to the fact that there is no etry to entrance from the traffic light) , one has to drive all the way back about 30 metres before the traffic lights (by the tesco shop/petrol station ).
However, you can park at the main road and walk towards the 'no entry'.
Overall a nice relaxing place , nice and pretty affordable drinks.
