Reviews of The Titanic Public House
C. W.
An outstanding example of a proper British pub. Good selection of draught drinks, extremely friendly landlord (who happily taught us all how to play bar billiards) who keeps the place very clean and inviting. It deserves to be far busier than it was on a Sunday lunchtime. We will definitely be back.... and so should you.

Wow!...what a lovely find not far from the Tudor House.
I’ve often walked past but never entered even when it was called The Queen, the windows still have this name engraved on them.
We arranged to meet friends in here for a beer before moving on.
A rare real traditional pub, a cosy feel, a log fire, bar billiards & friendly staff. It sells plenty of ales among the usual beers.
There are photos & models of liners & ships of days gone past & obviously bits about the Titanic.
We ended up staying for the rest of the evening because we could sit around a table, drink & have a good chat & laugh. A few of us enjoyed a game of bar billiards.
It stayed open until 12am (Fri) we left about 11:30 after a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
We will be returning, I recommend you to give it a visit.

Customer service Outstanding!
Really beautiful place !
Very quiet and cosy in the late evening hours and having a really beautiful active fireplace.
The best place to realy relax after a stressful day .
Candles everywhere instead of electric lights wich is one of a kind just amazing!
Only down fall is they don't serve food but the crisps they sell there , man I love them !
Please keep the place quiet and cosy as it is and you will have me as a full time customer. I brought my friends there as well and they loved it ! Keep up the good work , Southampton need places like yours !

The pub has undergone a few changes over the years, now looking smarter than ever. Had a decent wine at a good price. A fine quiet pub for pre-match drinks.
D. R.
Nice cost little pub of the High Street in Southampton. Servesnice range of beers and spirits and has a really good fire going on a winter's evening. Will definitely visit again.
P. B.
Great little pub had a total refit since last visit. Sells some item with Titanic on it if you want to buy things. Will return well done Martin.
D.
Nice pub with a good selection of beers and homemade gins would go there again worth a visit
K.
A pub that attracts a local crowd. Very traditional. Wandered in once with my parents and the patrons made us feel very unwelcome with a cold atmosphere, so we immediately left. Paperwork all over the bar, very odd.
В. Ф.
Authentic and cozy atmosphere, positive and friendly staff who know their stuff. I'd be very happy to visit it again if possible.

Used to visit the pub (as the Atlantic Queen) when I studied at Southampton some years ago. As The Titanic it's been opened up and the light's been allowed in - to positive effect.
The dining and lounge area is pleasant enough with some comfortable, if shabby, not chic, sofas and tables of the wrong height for sofas. Not quite sure what's being aimed at with the partially stripped back chimneybreast and removed coving but it looks like an unfinished and abandoned project.
Staff at the bar were friendly enough, and we were served swiftly for what was a very quiet early Friday evening. Having sunk our first drink I returned to the bar for another round. The chap, whom I assumed to be the landlord, who initially served us, and another, was now on the punters side of the bar chowing down on some take-away food un-wrapped in its paper plonked on the bar. No great surprise that The Titanic has a food hygiene rating of 3 with "little confidence in management". There was another member of staff to serve so no need to eat at the bar, and/or stink the bar out with - what was admittedly a seafaring - salt and vinegar chippy aroma.
It was nice to have a local (to me) pint of Suffolk brewed Ghostship in Hampshire, so points for that, although I suspect it was the name rather than the excellent drinking quality of the beer that sold it to The Titanic. The theme is carried by the uniforms adopted to a greater or lesser extent by the bar staff and management, I think Steerage Class being the order of the day both there, and with the food handling protocols. Some White Star memorabilia in the form a couple of 'coffee table' books and pictures hung about. White Star service should not, however, be expected here.
Put it this way, if I'd cruised to New York on this Titanic, I'd definitely wait for the introduction of commercial trans-Atlantic flight for the return crossing.
J. E.
Pub is an old fashion boozer, unfortunately there was no ale available 😢
S. H.
Very much for the local old boys you could imagine uncle Albert in there on the piano with his old sailor mates not my cup of tea but very friendly
p.
Lovely traditional pub, warm, clean and very friendly staff, lovely beer too.
P. L.
Great beer, great atmosphere, great people to have a natter with. + ultra rare bar billiards table 😁
A. C.
It's a great period pub in a city. You can have a quiet pint with good service and reasonably prices. If I lived nearby in Southampton I would probably pop I for a beer or two on the way home from work. Its not a party pub but I'm sure they could
help you out if its for a "40s or 50" party
c. b.
Great place with good beers and a friendly owner/barman. Highly recommended especially so if you also want to indulge in titanic history.
C. M.
Fantastic old fashioned. Great beers, great landlord and very friendly people.
Just two minutes away from high Street, so why bother with big nsme bars when you can go to a proper one
T. L.
Nice little pub tucked away in Southampton. Seems to be mainly a local crowd. Bar man we friendly. Feels a bit eclectic and the barman was dressed accordingly. Worth a visit
K. B.
Charming little independent boozer where crew from the Titanic drank before that fateful voyage.
D. W.
Really cheeky traditional pub, lovely customer service!
S. J. B.
Lovely bath staff. Lovely people.
K. S.
Lovely place, pleasant staff. Thank you
D. W.
Old style pub very nice.
R. R.
Such a lovely peaceful cosy place so close to West Quay. Real pub not restaurant. Great to find some quiet after loud shopping centre.
D. L.
An amazing pub hidden away, minutes walk from the centre of Southampton.
N. C.
Small and cosey, perfect for those romantic evenings in the pub
M. H.
Nice comfortable pub for a quiet drink, log fire, candlelight, very atmospheric. No food just good beer and no screaming children.
R. J.
Three stars may not say much - however it had a lot of charm here and the bar staff were very professional and friendly. When walking in it did feel like walking back in time. I wish I could give it 5 stars as it had a very local feel to it and these sorts of pubs are dying out. However, if I gave 5 stars I feel that people would expect a lot more from it than it can offer. If you're passing by and fancy a drink then treat yourself, however if you want top notch cocktails, amazing bar snacks and a modern environment then I would say this isn't for you. But I commend the staff here for keeping a pub a pub.
N. B.
Popped in to watch the 6 nations rugby with some friends between England and Ireland.
On first appearance, you may not think much of the decor, but...
The Titanic provides a warm and inviting service with genuine smiles and good beers and ales.
You can really tell that this a family run pub and it makes a real difference to the usual hustle and bustle of a busy chain pub.
As an added bonus, England won!
=)
M. W.
Popped in here after work as I had never been in,despite living in Southampton for 43 years! Traditional style pub set away from the main bars and restaurants of West Quay. If you want a nice, quiet pint, with friendly locals and good beers, then you can't go wrong at the Titanic. These types of pubs are dyeing out unfortunately.
N. C.
Great pub friendly staff, customers, reasonable prices and child friendly.
Very traditional feel, so much so that they serve a light & bitter. Something I haven't seen for years.
Going to be my new in town local.
B. S.
A really great family orientated atmosphere, that is both comfortable, friendly and very welcoming. Offers a great selection of alcoholic and non- alcoholic beverages (hot and cold), along with a good variety of bar snacks - The Titanic Ale, being a specific favourite of mine (and many others) 😋🍺 This all coupled with the fantastic memorabilia about the Titanic, makes for a great experience for either locals, traveling individuals, or tourists and parties, to come and really enjoy a great time out, in the city of Southampton. Really couldn't recommend a better place to go. 😁👍
e. (.
Great pub to sink a pint, (I think that's the local expression). We were in Southampton overnight waiting to board our cruise ship and discovered this pub just off the main highway. Friendly staff and the lunch menu is pretty tasty. We tried the ploughs (again, my apologies for not paying more attention) and were quite impressed. We ate all 3 types offered and walked out totally sated. The prices are reasonable and if we are ever lucky enough to return to Southampton, we will definitely head for the Titanic Pub.
R. C.
Great night good drink
A. &. S. M.
Well-run quiet but characterful pub in Southampton's old Town. Well worth a visit. A favourite of ours.
N. H.

Great pub friendly staff. Titanic is a local pub used by the locals. Does not do food. Would highly recommend if you just want a drink and a chat.
S. C.
Propper 'Pub'. Served bitter and mild or Boilermaker ! Drinks I havent seen for years !! This is a no frills pub with a good bit of Victoriana decor and a propper bar billiards table !!! Look out though ... loo isnt wheelchair accessible and they dont do food other than crisps.
A.
If you have a sense of humour, this is the place for you! Very welcoming, regulars are always happy to chat & the landlord is always accommodating. I will certainly go back if I'm in the area again

From the reviews I read I thought this would be a great place to have a evening meal with my Partner, but as we arrived there I felt rather uncomfortable going in, there was a rough bunch hanging out the type of low life you don't wanna spend your Saturday evening with.

(Translated) More than a pub, it looks like the living room of a great English house. As soon as you enter notes you are home. Ideal for watching the rainy days from a large sofa by the fire, tasting one of the local beers. The Titanic oversees the decoration of the venue. The wall paper is exquisite. They do not serve food.

No serveixen menjar.
