What a gem of a find! Lovely pub situated near Lyndhurst. Two minutes off the motorway. The Chicken ham and leek pie was grand! Big garden, play area, plenty of parking, oh and the Brownie dessert was lovely. We'll be back!
T. G.
Lovely pub with really tasty food, good coffee, friendly staff and dogs welcome! Highly recommend as a stop over if passing through new forest! Recommend their chicken burger, was delicious!
C. W.
Absolutely loved it here, we were en route to Lyndhurst after staying in Bournemouth for a few days. We had planned to have brunch in Lyndhurst however the traffic was really bad so we decided to carry on driving and we came across this wonderful place.
We ordered starters and mains and they were just amazing. The food and service we felt were impeccable, we had to wait a little while in between courses but we didn't mind too much. There was a lovely play area that our youngest daughter pretty much played on the whole time! Highly recommend, we had a lovely meal!
B. L.
Excellent service from the moment we walked by Scott the host and Ega serving at our table. Food excellently presented and sooooo tasty. Stated with chicken liver parfait and king prawns with ginger. Main course was stark and ale pie and the house burger, both delicious. No room for dessert unfortunately.... We will be back

Lovely place to eat, the staff were very efficient, friendly and helpful. The food is excellent. The surroundings are clean and comfortable, parking is easy. It's a good stop off point, easy to get to from the A31 main road just 2 minutes away. All together a lovely old English traditional pub, well worth a visit

We have often passed this pub/restaurant and it looked so inviting, so decided to meet up with some friends on the Queen's Bank Holiday Thursday. It really is a lovely place with lots of parking, outdoor and indoor seating. A magnificent tree gives ample shade for sunny days. The bar staff are excellent, really welcoming and friendly. Great selection of ales beers bitter etc. Nice menu. We were told to expect a 45 minute wait for food as it was a busy bank holiday. The food came just over an hour from ordering. The steak burger was a nice home made one and was accompanied with chips and a pot of sauce. It was a little overcooked and quite dry. For £15.95 I thought it was overpriced, especially as there was no side salad. My friend's liver pâté was returned as it did not appear fresh.

Lovely Sunday lunch, generous portions and beautifully cooked meats on the roast. Love the idea of the mini pudding and coffee. A top quality pub with great decor and very kind staff. We were served by Tracey who was a delight, friendly and very efficient - thank you for a lovely time.
T. W.
The staff were friendly and accommodating, food was lovely we had a steak sandwich and chicken sandwich both were big portions, and crusan wine tasted really good, service was excellent.
T. B.
Lovely pub, food was great, servers were also great. Thoroughly enjoyed meals, with great atmosphere. Only slip up from not getting 5 stars was asked for no pickle in burger and there was giant pickle putting its pickle flavour over everything. Fished it out and left for chef to have back.. Apart from that no faults, lovely pub, lovely people and lovely food.
P. E.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Food was lovely no complaints from a table of six. The young guy serving us was most efficient overall a very good start to our bank holiday weekend and we look forward to a return visit very soon. Thanks to all the staff.

Had a lovely meal last week. We shared a starter of crispy chilli beef with cashew nuts, which was really yummy. Followed by main meals of wholesome pie, mash and veg and a tasty Thai and mango dressed salad.
Friendly service, nice surroundings.
Would recommend and would go back.
C. W.
Beautiful food well worth visiting, and great service, dog friendly and they sell a great pint, pre book if you want to eat as they are amazingly busy
P. W.
Visited in group of 4 at lunchtime on 2nd March 2022. The food was excellent, it was lovely to be given a choice of small or large portions. The haddock and salmon fishcakes were very tasty as were the sausages and creamy mashed potato. Fish in beer batter was a definite pleaser. The staff are friendly and service was great. Would highly recommend.
L. M.
Had another superb lunch here today. Very quick service. The fish and chips were absolutely delicious. Will definitely be returning and I certainly recommend this place with its lovely, warm friendly staff.
C. A.
Had a meal today at The White Heart. The food was exceptional, the ambience spot on and the people and service utterly faultless - from the bar staff who greeted us front of house to the other employees making sure we were happy and satisfied - and were promptly attended too. This customer service should be a benchmark for all really. What a lovely day - thanks for helping towards making it so.
J. D.
Came here for a birthday family meal. I was really impressed. Staff were extremely friendly. The food was AMAZING! Just a shame I didn’t have room for desert. Highly highly recommend

Gorgeous building. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Great choices on the menu. Very reasonably priced. Food was of a very high standard. But I was a little put off by the hygiene in the toilets. Considering how beautiful the rest of the place was. The toilets were filthy, and falling apart. In saying that, it wouldn't stop me eating hear again.
j.
Food was great staff were excellent and driently drinks were good especially the gins
g. d.
Tasty well prepared food. Good service. Only disappointment was the limited vegetarian options. What was there was excellent but the choice was poor.
S. J.
having revisited this pub several times now, [after a bad experience,] I have to say its an absolute pleasure to have Sunday lunch there. The food and service is constantly first rate. We shall be back..!!
J. C.
Stopped off here on the way home from a Dorset Easter break to have lunch and get the kids to stretch their legs. Super friendly staff, delicious food and great beer garden, will stop off again for sure!
R. C.
Very good bears on bar. Most of the seating space is given over to diner's. We did not eat here but from the amount of people coming in I would think it was a good menu
T. L.
Lovely New Forest pub. Good food, nice people.
r. j.
This pub is a bit like a TARDIS it looks small on the outside but they have 2 dinning areas and tables at the bar and lots of tables out side .There is a good range of reasonably priced food on the the menu. They coeilac accredited and have a separate gluten free menu with a good choice on.
J. V.
Great pub with a lovely beer garden.
The White Hart has a good range of beer including guess ales, lager and cider on tap. The spirits and wine selection are above average, not outstanding, but good.
We've eaten here many times, and again the food is very good for a family pub, this extends to the children's meals where sausages and chicken goujons are clearly of good quality and not simply an afterthought.
In a great spot, especially on a sunny day the White Hart is an ideal pub to spend an afternoon at. Especially suitable for young children (there's heaps of space and the playground with swings, climbing frame, slide and old tractor are probably best appreciated up to the age of say ten)
Inside there's a small bar area, and a dining room, so on a cold day it is probably worth calling ahead to check a table is available.
The White Hart can get busy, and this has led to extended wait times on food, but staff have always been up front with this and popularity says something positive here.
Staff are friendly, and on a busy day, that's not always a given in hospitalities.
If you are travelling from outside of the area, then this pub is ideal when visiting the forest, Paultons Park (a.k.a. Peppa Pig World) and places like Lyndhurst. There is lots of parking and an overflow field so it ought never be difficult to park.
A. H.
Food was good here. Plenty of space in the car park and garden.
Covid-19 protocols adhered to (unlike many other places). The hostess actually enforces the rules from arrival, such as asking you to use the hand gel, telling you about the one way system and how to order. All staff were wearing their face shields too.
Overall impressed with experience.
C. S.
Lovely environment and very good food, my absolute favourite was the triple chocolate brownie, piece of heaven!
L. G.
Beautiful well kept pub. Friendly staff great selection of drinks. Food was great too.
G. N.
We went tonight to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it was brilliant! Lovely food, great atmosphere, clean and well decorated. The staff were very friendly and attentive.
A lovely meal!
P. H.
Excellent service and food. Lovely pub and restaurant with the bonus of being dog friendly 🐶. We will be back 👍
C. W.
Great lunch, lovely friendly atmosphere.Fishcakes and burger excellent, will certainly visit again.
K. S.
Have been many times and had consistently great food and service - thoroughly recommended.
N. C.
We have just visited here for a lunch. The staff were friendly and managed to fit us in. I had the chicken pie, it was very nice and the halloumi fries were cooked well. Other members of our party had burger, but unfortunately were not as impressed.
Atmosphere and most of the food was nice.
D. H.
We love coming to the White Hart to meet family - at least 4 times a year. What a pleasant surprise to see a menu change & I could have a Gluten Free Steak Pie - delicious 😋
L. M. A. S.
Quick stop to eat on pur way to London. Staff lovely and accommodating, food was delicious and menu had lots to choose from! I had the fish and chips and it was lovely, would definitely recommend to anyone passing by or in the area for a nice countryside meal.
A. J.
Went here after doing a cycling sportive in the area. The food was served quickly and was very tasty. Staff were polite and efficient. Toilets were nice and clean. Would recommend.
N. C.
First visit eventhough a relatively local pub.
Amazing!!, couldn't wish for a better venue for a Sunday lunch or any other time of the week.
A thank you to the Staff the food was sublime, never felt rushed like you do in some places.
Also very dog friendly, which is an extra bonus.......already looking forward to our next booking
D. V.
Good food and friendly service. Good sized portions. We had the Chicken Burger, Fish and Chips and the Fishcake.
S. F.
Fantastic roast beef! Pink and delicious! Lovely veg! Great, friendly staff! Thank you for a lovely lunch!!
A. P.
Everyone was welcoming and easy to talk to. The food was stunning and didn't take long to arrive. Will definitely be back!
D. W.
Nice quiet setting with pleasant grounds. We went following a walk around Cadnam for a small bite and pint. There were 6 in the group and ordering from the bar was a little confused but otherwise fine as it was quiet. Food was delivered for x4 of the group very quickly and the member of staff was lovely. Food was of a good quality - simple but delicious. I had a pate starter as a lunch item for about £6; the pea shoots and peas with the salad was especially good. Sadly x2 meals took quite a while longer and was after everyone else had long-finished their meals. The staff tried to keep us updated but that was the one missing star. Otherwise, can highly recommend and would eat here again happily.
M. S.
Great food, really welcoming atmosphere and lovely staff. Thanks to Mike for the lunchtime entertainment!!
We will be back 😁
C. F.
Called in for dinner with friends whilst returning home from a long day out. I was impressed. The staff were lovely - friendly and welcoming. The food was good. There was quite a long wait for dinner, but they were very busy and we hadn't booked, so the wait was acceptable. The staff kept us informed and were apologetic about the delay. I liked this pub so much that we will probably go back for dinner again, even though it's about a 30 minute drive from home. A lucky find and a little gem.
S. K.
Food was tasty and we particularly appreciated the separate gluten free menu and the version marked up with calories
F. V.
Stumbled across this gem on Google maps, while staying at a local hotel. We rocked up with a 18month old and no booking but we were greeted with a warm welcome and found a table. Lots of choice of drinks, we had a delicious rhubarb gin. The food selection was great and there is even a children's menu. We ended up choosing a wide selection of the starters and nibbles instead of mains, followed by brownies and ice cream for dessert. The food came out quickly and was all homemade and of course fantastic. Would highly recommended a visit here, the team working were friendly and kept pooing back to check if everything was OK and if we needed anything else. Thanks for a lovely evening.
L. F.
we sat outside to eat and drink - plenty of seating and parking. food and service was good .
C. L.
Lovely pub, good beer, helpful and friendly staff. Hope to return to eat - it looks excellent.
J. M.
Amazing food, friendly staff, lovely little place. Would recommend!
S. M.
What a wonderful place, tucked away.
Staff were very welcoming, attentive, polite, effiecnt and professional.
The bottle of wine was delicious, and very good price.
The food all freshly cooked, large portions, well presented and a ridiculous price. A good choice of starters large a d small, similarly a excellent choice of mains too.
We had to skip sweet as the starters and mains had filled us up. But room for an excellent coffee.
Loved the place, and would recommend it, just lovely.
M. C.
Very nice little pub. Mostly for food. Toilets are upstairs if you have mobility issues.
j. b.
We had an excellent meal here with friends. The food was beautifully cooked and the staff were excellent. They catered very well for Gluten free menu. We stayed long after we had finished eating but no pressure to buy more drinks. We'll done! We will be back.
N. A.
Food was fantastic, service great and dog friendly, perfect pub def recommend
C. E.
Always fabulous service and food, the team is awesome! Scott was our server and he is friendly and professional, we’ll be back for sure!
b. p.
Great food, very accommodating & polite staff that are very only too happy to help. A favourite place of ours to eat, booking advised during Summer months, although, there is also a very large garden with plenty of seating.
C. M.
Nice food and good service. The prices are a bit high, but the enviroment is excellent.
L. S.
Oh my goodness oh my goodness! We felt compelled to leave a review we have just had the BEST meal ever. Thai chicken salad and incredible crispy beef salad like out of this world crispy beef. Deserts were the best homemade but refined we’ve had in ages. My friend had lemon cheesecake and cried when it was over. Truly charming service. We don’t want to leave. We’re coming back every week to work through the menu. 😋
W. C.
Great food and service and the landlord let me and my young son stay in the car park in our vw camper
A. M.
Hadn't been here before. Nice interior, good choice on the menu., We all enjoyed our meal. The staff were friendly and attentive. Would recommend.
J. E.
Stopped in after a forest walk. Good selection of wine, including a bin end and tasty food. The kids burgers were great value. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend
A. O.
Lovely Sunday lunch..friendly staff .. but for me, not too keen on the veg.. all seemed mashed or finely sliced.. would have been nice to see a whole piece carrot or broccoli on the plate.. red cabbage, green cabbage and mashed swede ..but I get to it.. each to their own!
a. 1.
Lovely place for a pot of tea and cheesey chips
V. P.
Our go to pub when we're staying at ocknell campsite. Food is top notch
C. S.
Good food and a decent selection of ales. Well worth a visit
E. M.
The food was very good although the original choices my partner and I would have liked were not available, at 7:30, which was a bit surprising. The brownie desert was very rich and definitely needed more ice-cream or something to counter the chocolate. Also, the waiter was very friendly and caring. Was great to visit.
D. P.
We thoroughly enjoyed our first time at the white hart in cadnam yesterday. The food was delicious and loved the atmosphere. The staff were all lovely to us which we really appreciated. Would happily recommend and would definitely go back.
S. F.
Lovely food good selection of beers in tap including an alcohol free option
g.
Really nice atmosphere, good food well cooked.
m. g.
Efficient friendly service and really good food. All the food looked great and neighbouring diners seemed very happy with their meals. We had the crispy chilli beef salad which was amazing, a real taste explosion. The dark chocolate and orange tart afterwards hit the spot followed by excellent coffee.
A. S.
Child friendly, adult friendly, dog friendly! Superb lunches, good beer, lovely garden, additional parking available. A brilliant family pub.
S. P.
Amazing service from very well trained pleasant staff. I had the chicken burger with chips and slaw, the burger was excellent however the chip portion was like warm. Other than that very minor gripe it's a brilliant pub with great staff.
C. H.
Amazing food, super friendly staff, lovely experience.
A. S.
Hospitality at its best. Lovely menu with wide ranging options for a gluten free member of our party. Very welcoming staff and comfortable environment.
M. H.
Large garden, lots of car parking, decent drop of ale
R. S.
AMAZING
Me and my partner passed through on a bank holiday Friday, expecting to be turned away as we had not booked. Turns out they had space but apologised for a ten minute wait for food!
Straight away felt welcomed and nothing was a problem.
My partner can’t tolerate Gluten so to find a pub that had an amazing choice of GF food across the board was a bonus.
The table staff were great and really friendly.
Can’t recommend this pub enough, Amazing food that is presented with care and all fresh.
Great work to all the staff!
Will be coming back again for sure!
R. P.
Very popular venue just off the end of the M27. Atmospheric interior and a large outdoor area some of which is under a marquee. Three real ales one of which was a local during our visits.
We ate on more than one occasion from a changing varied menu offering pub classics at prices compatible with others in the area and smaller plates for those with a smaller appetite. Service can be delayed at busy times but the staff were very friendly and efficient.
S. C.
I loved the food. Perfect size menu with lots of variety as well as pub classics. The pub is dog friendly. Clean loos and a lovely old building
j. c.
It's the Southern beach everyone goes to because love sand and sea. The Air show from the beach was amazing. Feel super safe with the lifeguards on duty with the kids swimming between the flags. Just a super awesome day. Red arrows were good but the spitfire take the 👑
I. C.
Decent alcohol selection, with a lovely range of local beers. Service not great. Forgot half of our food order and then didn't take it off when we came to pay. Not the best service. Lovely surroundings, and a good play park for children.
K. S.
I never leave reviews but had to today! Such tasty food at the white hart, the best chicken burger I have ever had and the kids meals are decent quality too. Welcoming and helpful staff, lovely garden and play area and a great location.
Love that you can order from your table with your phone too!
F. T.
Loved the buttermilk chicken burger and everyone loved their meals.
T. W.
We sat in the beer garden with our dog on a lovely sunny Fri afternoon to break up a long drive south. Really easy to order via the app (CV-19 table service), great portions and the food was delicious. Our daughter enjoyed the swings and slide too.
M. S.
Great food good selection of beers got very busy at 12.30
H. A.
Beautiful food, friendly staff and fascinating building. We’ll certainly be going back.
D. G.
Very busy, half term, service quick, staff very good, went above and beyond for me, very impressed. Pub is clean and comfortable, good car park, food looked very good but did not eat, due entirely to my lack of forthought, if you want to come here to eat, you need to book, and the fact it was very busy is an indication of the quality of food at this establishment.
L. A.
Went for a meal with friends, table service due to COVID. Service was great, food was great and we felt safe and clean.
D. M.
Excellent food, good quantity definitely a favourite.
K. P.
After a bad start with food coming out late, had a much better ending thanks to the manger Mike. He was very helpful and pleasant. Thank you for helping out and lovely hot chocolate made for the walk home. Would come again to get a better start next time in the area.
R. W.
Great venue and food but slow service last night due to being busier than normal for a Tuesday (apparently)
S. S.
Great place
Having spent the day at Peppa Pig World we were looking for a decent pub that was family friendly, and we found it.
Staff really friendly and service was good.
As an individual with Coeliac Disease (Gluten Allergy) this place is a breath of fresh air, you actually have a choice here; i mean a proper choice. This in itself was so refreshing having been restricted all day with what i can eat.
The food was brilliant, everything tasted fantastic.
In terms of price, 2 adult mains, 2 kids mains, 2 pints, 1 wine spritzer, soda & black, 2 adult desserts and 1 kids desert came to £75.
P. K.
Lovely food. Great hospitality. Felt very safe in current climate
n. m.
Yummy food, great service. We'll be returning. 😋
P. H.
Well organised safe environment in the current climate. The food was very tasty, of a good standard and well presented. It was favourably priced too. The team were welcoming and super efficient. Great job guys.
R. L.
Good food but a tad on the expensive side.
P. H.
Friendly welcoming staff serving excellent food and drink in a traditional pub atmosphere. We found this pub by chance and weren't disappointed
D. A.
Great service, especially with dietary requirements. Food was very nice. Setting is also fab, we ate outside on a sunny evening and the kids loved playing on the swings, tractor and climbing frame.
M. F.
Only popped in for a drink after a lovely walk from the pub to Minstead and back again. Hadn't planned to eat but the menu was just too tempting. Lovely food, and a prompt, friendly service. Highly recommended from us!
a. h.
Absolutely gorgeous food with a superb choice of a menu.
Wonderful surroundings inside and plenty of parking spaces with an overflow area for parking as well. All is well taken care of. Brilliant!
P. M.
Good Service, Great Food, Lovely atmosphere.
S. W.
Very high class food here. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. The burger was beautifully cooked. Due to the time of year (winter) i would recommend having the desserts in the summer as my lemon cheesecake was very sharp when I went
S. s.
Enjoyed very much the pub, food, the garden and people
J. L.
First time to the white hart recently and was extremely happy with the customer service, quality of food, drink and atmosphere. Highly recommend a visit to the white hart if you find yourself in the area or are in need of a fine dining pub! Big thank you to our server Tracey for everything!!
R. T.
Just back from 1st ever visit to the White Hart , lovely menu choices was my 1st thought. What a beautiful place also.
Best thing was the food, I had the fish cakes and my partner had the beef bourguignon, both outstanding main dishes, starters were also fantastic, Duck Leg and Chicken wings.
If you are lucky enough to be served by Wendy, she is absolutely lovely.
Definitely will return.
Great place to visit.
Thanks All,
N. B.
Great food. Attentive friendly staff. Recommended.
S. S.
Great place, wonderful staff and tasty beer
J. S.
Good food, portions too big. Friendly waitress, Claire? Was very helpful. Personally would have stayed longer but I was cold as all doors open.
s. f.
Nice pub. Delicious food. Attentive staff. Been back many times.
H. M.
Great food, great venue, great playground.
H. W.
Great pub, and food. Service a bit too slow but extremely friendly and helpful staff.
S. B.
Lovely pub and atmosphere, big garden, excellent choice of beers and gins. Great food! Defo one of my favourite new forest pubs. Recommended
J. S.
Very nice lunch in the garden. Great menu to suit many different tastes. Service was good, food was good, price was good. Great weather too!!
V. H.
Nice pub, very good value food and crowd-pleasing menu - everyone enjoyed their Sunday lunch so we'll happily be back soon
S. B.
nice food, yum! lovely garden for children, the atmosphere are good! Will definitely be back .
J. P.
It was great . Friendly staff. Beautiful location
B. P.
Reasonably priced fish and chips. Chips a bit soggy. Excellent fish in batter. My girlfriend enjoyed her goats cheese salad. Friendly staff.
B. P.
Tasty homemade food at a good price. Managed to get a table on a Sunday without prior booking.
Unfortunately, my drink tasted soapy. Asked for a replacement, which they were happy to do, but still tasted soapy! Transferred to a glass on the table rather than ask again.
However, staff were very friendly and atmosphere was very nice.
D. P.
Me and my pregnant wife came for lunch on Saturday 1st Aug 2020.
The service was outstanding. All the staff members were extremely friendly and very smily despite having to wear face visors and adjusting to the Covid regulations.
The way everything was set up made us feel extremely comfortable and safe.
The food was fantastic as always.
Thank You for an enjoyable experience.
T. M.
Good quality food, friendly staff
F.
Nice staff and service. Unfortunately the rib eye steak was very poor we had 2 it was tough and gristle. Rest of menu good.
We have been here before without complaint .
Suggest sorting quality of steak or take from menu.
R. L.
Very good food, average prices, pleasant service, good draught beers. Can't fault it. Extensive gluten free menu.
C. F.
Friendly staff, great location right in the middle of the new forest. The rooms were very nice and clean although could have done with a little maintenance. There were many lovely touches such as wellies you can borrow and complimentary drinks in the room. The food was lovely, we had breakfast , lunch and dinner and all were great. The puddings however, I would not recommend. I think they are probably bought in and are disappointing. Go for a starter and main instead of saving room for pudding!!!
d. p.
Great food and wonderful atmosphere
R.
Dog friendly, decent food and nice staff
R. B.
We arrived in the area to stay at bartley lodge but thought the food was a little pricey but wih not enough served on the plate pretty but not filling we unpacked and headed out We arrived at 7pm at the white Hart pub asking for a table for food,we were greeted with amazing friendly staff, a little stressed but lovely
We were informed that the waiting time was an hour so we booked the table ordered drinks and waited outside
It got cold so we moved inside .
We ordered a few more drinks than finally got placed for our meal and it was worth the wait the fish and chip were amazing and the starter of vegetables parcels with the sweet chilli dip was fantastic
The chicken wings were fantastic also (hubby had ) and he had fish and chips as I did
Absolutely beautiful place fantastic food and well worth the money yes I would go back
Thanks rose
Great for dogs and children as it has a little park attached
Thanks rose and family
m. s.
Had a lovely Brocoli and Stilton quiche with new potato salad, and a delicious salad along side which was gorgeous it had sugared walnuts on it which I've never had before.
C. L.
Brilliant Christmas meal with the family. Excellent food and very good service.
N. P.
Just been today for a lovely meal, had 3 courses all lovely. Nice staff all trying their best during these difficult times. Would definitely recommend, had a lovely afternoon
D. H.
Fantastic pub, great food, fab staff and plenty of play space for the children. Will definitely be returning when we're in the area!
V. E.
Great place for lunch with fantastic food. Always happy to go there.
V. P.
Did not expect this to be as brilliant as it was!! Proper country-style pub, open fire, floppy dog sat near by: everything you're expecting when you walk in. Then order food: It's absolutely great! Food was really well presented and so delicious. For once, the food was so good that I forgot to photograph anything!!! Reasonable prices so give it a go, you really won't be disappointed.
V. S.
The waitress was brilliant. Food very nice. Not very much choice for my gluten free diabetic friend who ended up having two fried eggs and a small portion of chips and was charged an extortionate price. They have now lost 6 potential regular customers!!!
B. E.
Stand out Yorkshire puddings for the Sunday roasts. Great staff and atmosphere. Lovely large garden with seating and play area.
D. W.
Beautiful food and service excellent, dog friendly, we would highly recommend this place, if you want to eat booking is advisable
P. C.
A lovely warm and welcoming Pub with a great home comfort style menu with a bistro twist. A great selection of real ales. I tried the Charcoal Chicken breast Feta and Pickle salad which was great, but they did forget the pickles which was a shame. Staff are friendly and helpful but I was left for quite a while waiting for my food and the offer of another drink.
Overall I had a good experience and will return to try the amazing looking fish and chips or Burger!
T. R.
Food ok, drinks took awhile. Some of the staff had excellent customer service skills others mannerisms could do with some adjustments. Still good experience.
M. B.
Very nice pub. Restaurant was packed on a Monday night - we had booked a table and booking is highly recommended. Despite a full restaurant, food came in good time and with no major wait. Great food, great staff. Will be back.
A.
Friendly helpful staff, very welcoming. Unfortunately they messed up our order, which mean our meals came out at different times. So two of us had finished our lunch when the other two came out. Not ideal! Food was delicious and they did apologise.
A. B.
We have just stopped at the White Hart for some lunch on our way to Bridport. We had Fish and Chips and Sausage and Mash. The food was amazing.....fish probably the best we’ve ever had and the chips cooked to perfection. On arrival we were warmly greeted and seen to our table explaining the new procedures as a result of the recent announcements to hospitality due to covid.
We felt very safe as it was covid compliant. Service efficient and friendly. Would highly recommend.
T. l.
From the moment we walked into this beautiful building, we were greeted with a warm smile and prompt service. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. I had decided on Crispy Beef Salad, from the website menu. But it had been replaced with the most exquisite PUMPKIN Tortellini with Butternut sauce. Next morning and I'm still thinking about it. It truly was beyond compare. My partner had the Chicken Ham and Leek pie and was equally impressed. So impressed, we had dessert my StickyToffee Pudding took me straight back to being a child and my Great grandmother's kitchen. A truly delightful place to go. Our server Annie was attentive and amusing. Made the whole experience something to write about.
P. S.
Friendly service and relaxed family atmosphere. Lovely food with good portion sizes particularly the children's.
L. G.
Very good food, kind personnel and amazing ambience!
S. H.
Nice pub, just off the Cadnam Roundabout, plenty of space for parking, sitting outside and kids to play. The food is really good, average price, good selection of Ales, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The building is old and full of character.
M. p.
Well organised system of distance spacing and sanitising, efficient staff. However, some food portions small, disappointed that the vegetarian pie has been taken off the menu but the meat one still on, more
choices for vegetarians/vegans would be nice.
M. D.
Very nice friendly pub with amazing food. Highly recommended.
W. D.
Haven't been for a long time but pleased with the Sunday Menu so have rebooked. Very pleasant staff
N. M.
Nice little country pub with a great garden with plenty of outside space, very quaint and old style inside which adds to the charm. The staff are friendly. Only stopped for a drink so couldn't comment on the food but menu looked appetizing.
G. H.
Lovely food, very clean and well kept. Would recommend.
S. W.
Very impressed by their arrangements for C-19 management. Well spread out, clear instructions on how operating, one way system etc. A very hearty Sunday roast and the ice-cream was superb! Well done all.
K. C.
Great chicken burger and skin on fries are the best
E. W.
Lovely pub on the edge of Cadnam. It had a warm, relaxed atmosphere with tasteful decorations. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and service was prompt. A good amount of parking was available. I really enjoyed their specialty gin and tonics - I sampled the Brighton gin with Brighton rock garnish. Very tasty!
c. H.
We had dinner here on a saturday night with family, the staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food was excellent. A well balanced menu with a good childrens menu separate, with plenty to choose from and a good variety of drinks. Even though it was busy, we did not have to wait too long between courses for our food. The white heart has a lovely atmosphere overall for all diners and drinkers alike accommodating for couples and large family tables and great for kids. Overall we had a fantastic night and would recomend to anyone.
E. L.
Great food
S. M.
Adult food was great - tasty and filling. Children's menu was disappointing - dry burger and fish fingers turned out to be overcooked goujons that still had the skin on - not suitable for a very young child.
W. W.
Pleasant surroundings friendly staff and ummy food we will go back
R. P.
Superb location, with beautiful garden.
Friendly and welcoming staff, free WiFi, decent car parking, (free). Play area for the kids. You'll love the little Robins that fly down to your tables and also the magpie who seems to enjoy annoying the dogs. Worth a visit.
O. L.
Pub has a great atmosphere, lovely decor and is prefect if you're looking for a traditional pub meal. The food was really tasty and it was great to see it was home all cooked and the staff were friendly too. Place has a little play area for children but unfortunately the swings were broken. Would highly recommend going.
R. H.
The White Hart is a very nice pub. Dog friendly in the bar and adjoining room. Good range of drinks, including lots of different gins. Nice menu - not too large but a decent choice. The Crispy Beef Salad and the Pie of the Day are recommended (at least by me...).
Child friendly with a large garden and child's play area including a real tractor.
Well worth a visit.
D. S.
On a Tuesday night, car park full and parking in overflow car park tells you all you need to know. Excellent value meals and service of equal quality.
G. E.
Had a very enjoyable late lunch with our family. Between us we had a good selection from the menu. Everyone enjoyed everything they had. Will definitely be returning
C. R.
The lamb shank was just about passable, though on the dry side. Potatoes were rather strange. All perfectlt edible but I wouldn't return. £18.95 for the main was more than I have paid elsewhere for a much better meal.
What did niggle me was the waitress telling me they had no Worcester sauce for the tomato juice - then finding it later on.
And it was very annoying to be asked how much tip I wanted to leave, so she could key it into the pad. This is just not done, so I'm afraid the answer was nothing.
T. W.
A very enjoyable meal, probably the best of our holiday in the area. Good food and good service. Pricey, but Eat Out To Help Out took the edge off.
P. C.
Fabulous pub! Great food and service, wish I lived closer to it!
L. H.
Very good service. Felt very comfortable there even though we wanted light snack.
P. B.
Very nice food only slight issue was the amount of time we waited for our food it was an hours wait.
C. C.
ALWAYS a fabulous experience.
The food, and staff, are wonderful.
J. C.
Nice garden and drinks. Staff slow to clear tables. Nice play area for children.
S. W.
Very high class food here. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. The burger was beautifully cooked. Due to the time of year (winter) i would recommend having the desserts in the summer as my lemon cheesecake was very sharp when I went
N. C.
Smashing pub, great outside area with nice seating and area for children. staff very friendly, with swift service.
D. F.
Great place lovely kind staff family friendly good British country pub.
J. W.
Excellent service great food and good value.
R. H.
Very nice pub which I recommend.
S. C.
Brilliant for social distancing. Lovely garden, great service & staff. Food is fantastic as usual.
L. B.
Nice place sat in the Marquee outside, only drawback the Menu was Expensive and there was Nothing on there that we wanted to eat, Sorry but won't be going back there, unless you put up food like ie:- ' Egg n Chips, or Pie n chips, Lasagne etc., etc.,
M. D.
Highly recommended. Friendly, helpful staff, lovely food and great portion size! Homemade pie, mash and veg was amazing, thank you,
D. F.
Excellent food, excellent service. A great evening. We
will definitely be back.
C. H.
A lovely find. Smashing food, friendly helpful staff and good Covid management. Handling large numbers well. Definitely one to seek again.
A. H.
We have had numerous meals at The White Hart and have enjoyed them, the menu has become very boring and monotonous, the establishment needs to be adventurous and regularly vary its menu.
I like a good pint of larger but unfortunately what is on offer is second rate.
P. S.
Just visited the white hart in cadnam
After reading the reviews decided to visit for something to eat this evening
I ordered the steak burger and what a disappointment it was the toasted bun was burnt and the steak burger, or should I say mince was so burnt it had turned to charcoal I haven't been able to get the taste out of my mouth since.
My wife ordered the pork and leek sausages and mash which she said was cold and tasteless, however she enjoyed the toffee pudding and ice cream.
Would not bother coming again
Overpriced
D. C.
Lovely meal great service
C. G.
Great choice on menu, lovely food. Service was very pleasant with a smile.
B. S.
Excellent friendly staff and good food
n.
The place was packed so food took a long time.
I had the mushroom burguinion pie which was tasty but went right through me. My mother in law enjoyed her braised lamb. Would try again but not at a weekend.
R. H.
Service is excellent we ordered fish cake and steak. The fishcake was very good but I had ordered a medium rare steak and it came out very well done. But to the credit of the landlady when I complained about it she was extremely helpful agreeing it wasn't what I had ordered and replaced it with a fresh meal that was perfect! :-)
F. S.
Lovely place which we stopped to have a drink. Very friendly staff and other patrons. Very nice garden and lots of parking. Definitely revisit if I pass this way again. Toilets were exceptionally clean.
t. s.
Beautiful tasty food, with fantastic customer service! Very very happy 😊
K. C.
The White Hart has been extended and refurbished since our last visit, dropped in for lunch really lovely forest pub setting. Excellent food and very friendly customer service. Have booked an upcoming evening birthday meal there with table beside glowing fire.
A. R.
Food was awesome, staff were friendly and very covid safe. Great afternoon out with the dogs and friends
J. W.
Excellent. Loved my courgette starter and crumbly mince pie!
R. D. (. &. A.
Nice little pub. The battered halloumi with chips they have as a vegetarian option to fish and chips was to DIE FOR. I was in a seaside town and no fish and chips could have lived up to it. As a bonus our nearly 2 year old got a bit upset waiting for food and a lovely woman working in the kitchen gave us a little bowl of cucumber and made some faces which cheered him up. It's these little things that make all the difference when out with kids, thank you so much!
L. T.
Very good anti-COVID measures with one way system around the bar. Hummus starter just average, but very good pork roast. Service a bit slow at times.
H. C. (.
A little bit pricy but very good food.!
R. M.
Extremely welcoming and reasonably priced. Splendid range of local Ciders & Bitters. Beautiful food and desserts.
A great way to end, or start, a lovely walk or drive in The New Forest.
S. P.
Stopped of for lunch on way to Jurassic Coast area in Dorset. Fantastic food with plenty of choice, very friendly helpful staff and desserts to die for.
N. C.

Went for Sunday lunch (booked in advance as it gets busy), good choice of food on the menu. Service was friendly and fast, especially for a Sunday. Food was very nice, all 3 courses had generous portions and wasn't badly priced.
L. D.
Lovely lunch with my georgous cousin.
J. A.
Great pub, very close to the M27 (J1), solid pub food and a great garden for the kids

r. b.
Family meal absolutely lovely will definitely go back staff very pleasant my wife & I had the lamb best sundy lunch out we've had the whole family really enjoyed themselves thank you for a great meal .
A. W.
Nice pub but geared up mostly for food. Bar seating area quite limited. Popped in for a drink with the kids and had to sit in restaurant area. Not an issue but would not say this is a "drinkers" pub.
m. b.
Great food and service, with very happy staff.
t. w.
A little disappointed today with the food. My roast potatoes were hard to cut as tough and leathery. The portion of wild mushroom tortellini was on the small side and the food could have been warmer.
S. D.
They were excellent from the start to finish .the food was amazing and service will be definitely going back 💯😄
B. P.
Good quality but over priced for what it is. Service was slow as we were a family visiting and staff seemed more interested in keeping the locals happy.
We are going back to the area soon and will make an effort to find somewhere else to eat.
D. Y.
Decent gastropub with nice food and friendly staff
P. C.
Fabulous pub! Great food and service, wish I lived closer to it!

Another great visit, good food, great wine and a lovely outside table in the sunshine
D. J.
Nice place & staff. Very good food. Not your typical pub food. Reasonable value for money. We will be back!
M. B.
Really really excellant food. Bit of a blip with the food timings but staff and management dealt with it really well with some freebies. Considering how good the food was I would go back for more even if there were more "blips"
R. B.
Met up with my 2 sisters and had a lovely meal here all well organised and spaced out food was lovely service was brilliant
W. P.
Very nice in the sunshine this afternoon. Lovely cod and chips and good quiche

Nice country pub, went for lunch with friends. It was busy but the service was good and everyone was taken care of well. The food was great and arrived promptly.
M. C.
Always a pleasure to go to this White Hart
The food and atmosphere are good.
However, members of their staff should not stand at the entrance smoking and talking on their cellphone. This happened frequently the other day....disappointing.
J. R.
Great food plus the gingerbread cider was supprisingly nice
J. P.
Good food. I had the sea bass. Only criticism was the spinach was not fresh but frozen before cooking. Service good as always.
L. H.
Very good service. Felt very comfortable there even though we wanted light snack.
J. C.

Lovely food, and great for children. Outside space was really good.
G. H.
We were a table of 11 who had 3 courses each yet they still decided to switch the coffee machine off at 9.30 before we had finished our meal so none of us could have a coffee. Most disappointing. I even asked if they had a kettle to which the answer was no
A. C.
Lovely place but definitely worth booking. Is quite busy.
Would be an ideal location for a rapid charger being so close to the M27
A. D.
Lovely venue for a meeting with friends. We sat outside in the sun. Meals being brought through for other tables looked and smelled delicious.

Homely New Forest pub with great food.
Also hotel but never stayed. Looks great.
Really good staff.

Lovely pub but marking down due to the cost of the wine. £8.40 for a glass of something that is £6/bottle in Sainsbury's.
J. D.
Pretty pub in new forest with well made home cooked food accompanied by great service, outside seating available too. Very nice.
V. B.
Rating based on food which was ok. Good that they offer a smaller portion of a roast. Nice atmosphere. Dog friendly.
P. G.
Absolutely first class food, huge beautiful pub, great beers, reasonable prices and the staff are an absolute credit to you. What an ace pub!!
