Reviews of Bleeding Wolf, Scholar Green

Really enjoy going here. It's always very friendly, peaceful and classy.
Had the Henry Weston cider. Was lovely. Enjoyed some mussels cooked too perfection for 7.50. Was a big enough person for 3 people. Huge tub.
Staff always very attentive.
Perfect hospitality 😁

Well what an amazing meal…
Service was spot on, even with a Wake happening and it being Easter Holidays.
Food order arrived quickly, and portions were unbelievably…
The Gammon was almost an 1” thick, and the Double Burger was so so tasty.
Will definitely be back next time we visit the area again.

Absolutely stunning food, haven't been since it has been refurbished and it's absolutely beautifully done. The staff were super lovely too. Let my son help to gather chicken eggs from their coupe and we're really really nice. Service and food excellent xx
J. F.
Fantastic pub. My partner and I really enjoyed our Sunday lunch here. Couldn't fault any part of the experience.
K. T.
Lovely Pub in Cheshire. Excellent food in a superb Thatched Roof Pub from the 1930s. Even the tiles in the toilets are original from the 1936 Build. Definitely recommend stopping by rather than driving by! 👍👌
J. G.
Fabulous quality food with a great choice selection and excellent service. Would highly recommend

I booked into the Bleeding Wolf online on a Thursday for a Sunday roast. Be warned that this was too late, this place gets very busy on a Sunday and the only slot I could get in for was 12pm. Upon entering the building the resident chickens scared the life out of my girlfriend which was pretty funny, she thought they were fake as did every other visitor that entered. The service was excellent, everything we ordered made it to the table very quickly. However, this isnt a carvery type place and there were only 2 meats to choose from, the plates are brought out to you with a side of veg. The food was really nice though, but it was slightly on the cold side for my liking. It was a nice meal though and I would go back.

We held my 50th and our surprise wedding celebration here last night. We were given a gorgeous area with plenty of room for over 40 guests. We opted for a hot buffet and the food was absolutely amazing. We were looked after from start to finish and all our family thoroughly enjoyed the whole event. Thank you so much for making our day so special. Victoria and Daryl x

High end pub serving superb food. Loads of outdoor space. Great service. Black pudding mash and slow cooked belly pork was a culinary revelation!
J. N.
Very impressive building both inside and out. A pleasant welcome and more than the usual selection of Robinson's beers, of which we had the stout, which was rather tasty. The food was really good. It's just a bit dispiriting when the veggie and vegan choices are only a token one or two. At least one offering for vegans on the dessert menu would have made us stay for pudding. Nevertheless we had a pleasant evening and would probably pop in again if we're passing.

Great little place. The double burger was fantastic and a real good hearty meal for someone with an appetite. The missus had gammon and what a plateful it was. All cooked extremely well and tasty. Atmosphere is so chilled out and staff were so helpful , friendly and accommodating. I’ll definitely be back
S. F.
Good service, great food, friendly staff. Looks as good on the inside as it does on the outside. Highly recommended.
B. M.
Superb place. Always something going on, car shows, pub quizzes and fantastic food. I was there recently for a family meal, and the service was great very friendly and a pleasure to have around.
Food portions are great too. Have the burger. Thank me later.

We really enjoyed our trip to the Bleeding Wolf - my son took me there for a father's day treat and I wasn't disappointed. The selection of beers is amazing and the menu is extensive and varied. The icing on the cake - the food was excellent. My son had mussels and I had the gammon, both meals were cooked perfectly.

Really good food and great staff

Visited on Wednesday Eve 16th February with my partner and In-laws and from arriving to leaving the service and food was excellent and surpassed our expectations. The young lady who waited our table was delightful, authentic and genuinely appeared to want to be there. A credit to the team. Thank you.
M. W.
Went for lunch and took my Mum. We ate off the 2 course for a tenner and it was absolutely delicious. Served quickly by the lovely Laura who was bubbly and welcoming and for whom nothing was too much trouble. Recommend without reservation.
E. H.
We met up here for an evening meal and family reunion of 20+ the staff were super friendly and all of our food came out at the same time the quality was fantastic everything was fresh and cooked spot on. Homemade chips and onion rings were yummy.
We also had our sons christening buffet here after the church a couple of years ago highly recommend again everything made/cooked fresh and well organised.
Thankyou all at the bleeding wolf definitely one of our top favourite places.
L. B.
Not sure where my original comments went when I reviewed? Really good service considering there were 25 people in our party. The waitresses were really attentive. Organising electronic bills using surnames was done with no problem at all. A really good 80th birthday party. Thank you
M. H.
First time in the area and we wanted a Sunday lunch. Well what can I say this pub without running out of space for this review. OK here goes apart from the 5 stars, I'm giving it 5 B's, brilliant pub, brilliant food, brilliant atmosphere, brilliant service and brilliant staff.
M. J.
A nice pub for sure. Enjoyed the food we had
Bit disappointed about the wait,( our order was mislaid ), about 40 min. Was a busier Saturday so have to be realistic. Asked for a half but brought a pint ?
Standing queuing in the gent's because we thought the unmarked door to the urinals was the cleaners cupboard !!
I'm sure pubs do this sort of thing to make our trip ' jolly '..
Loads of parking. Portion sizes ok and prices realistic . As food in pub's, etc, starting to climb up. Nice place to visit after a walk in the nearby woods.
M. C.
Have not been here in years. Always liked this place and I was driving home after a hike and just drove pass. The place has had a full refurbishment. Making a lovely dinning experience. Both inside and outside are amazing.
Definitely coming back here again. They have a large garden area with a playground for children. The food was really nice and some good beers.
J. B.
Funeral afters. We waited for quite a while for the food. Would have liked to have been offered a hot drink on arrival. However, the food was delicious when served and certainly plenty of it.
D. M.
Had a nice walk for an hour or two then dropped in here for a bite to eat. So let's start with the bad news: I had to be somewhere in the evening so could not stay longer like I desperately wanted to. Lovely, friendly staff. Good selection of spirits etc. Beer wise, there is something for everyone be it your pint of carling, a smooth pint of Robinson, a refreshing cider or my choice, an IPA. Tables are not too close so you have your own space but it's also cosy. The food was just excellent. We ordered the huntsman chicken and got the whitest and amongst the best prepared chicken you could hope for. The gammon was thick and also perfect. The tandoori chicken wrap with fries kept my wife very content for a good 20 minutes. All meals came with fries( nice), or chunky chips (so nice I wept when I realised I'd finished them... Then noticed the mother in law had a couple left so stole one.) the black pudding comes as a stater but they served it for me as a main with (chunky chips (the ones I wept over) and onion rings. The onion rings will remain in my mind for as long as my wedding day and the birth of my only child (one of which I feel no regret for.). In summary, superb.
P. T.
Recently refurbished inside but currently seating outside only for drinks and food. Can reserve online. Excellent standard of service made the occasion special. Kiddies playground away from seating. One to visit in my opinion
Review of visit 4th July - arrived 5pm no Sunday roast left, sold out. My gammon meal was odd. Tinned pineapple ring, egg, chips and weirdest veg, cabbage, parsnips and carrots. Only 3 desserts available out of 5. Then they ran out of Pinot!!!!!! As you can see from my previous glowing review we had great expectations but sadly disappointed. I think maybe there are staffing problems. Or did we just pick the wrong moment!!!! Will wait to hear if things improve before going again.
J. B.
We go for a drink every week on a Sunday. Very busy with a very good atmosphere and amazing staff. Jenny the manager is so friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend this pub x
K. J.
Thank you so much for your kindness on our evening with you celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary. Could not have done anymore for us. From the food and service to the time we left your staff were first class.👏👏
J. S.
Had the luncheon meal, good value, very enjoyable but slow service as told short staffed. Would definitely return as very busy today. Interesting history too.
S. H.
Great pub atmosphere large beer garden play area lovely food and drinks
M. B.
Only beer in the beer garden out the back so can't review in full (2021 April after all) but the greeting wasn't pleasent and were seated after a walk where I could take in the sunset.
Sounds like its going to be nice inside as it's had a 1nillion pounds make over.
A. S.
The pub has just been refurbished to a high standard. It's a loverly country pub , they have an excellent menu , from quick bites to full meals , pri es not to bad , well worth a visit .
C. E.
Lovely pub, very cosy, staff seem nice and friendly, we went on a Tuesday and the fish and chips were on offer for £7, very good value and good size portion, drinks weren’t too expensive either like most other pubs, would recommend and will definitely be coming back soon 😊
M. D.
Lovely pub with a great garden for young families, inside its nice that they've kept to the 1930s decor. Food took a while to order but when it turned up it was worth it.
J. S.
Nice refurbished pub the food looked good but we did not eat will defiantly be going back for a meal though staff friendly and atmosphere relaxing
D. C.
Friendly, accomodating staff and the food and drink were both good. A good variety on the menu, offering better choice than competitors. Plan to visit again soon.
W. H.
So busy was on last Monday, didn't get a chance to stay there , maybe we'll try again .
N. C.
Came here for a lovely afternoon lunch. Friendly and attentive staff. Food was delicious!

Booked in for a meal whilst in the area, we'll worth it. Friendly staff and good service along with a good choice of food on the menu which were all very tasty.
C. M.
Great food and good portion sizes. Prices were average and comparable with other gastrohpubs in the area. Service good - a little slow, but it was a busy Friday evening.
A. R.
Clean interior with limited but adequate menu and usual Robinsons beers on offer.Service was slow as very busy but it was a Saturday lunchtime. Good kids playground and dog friendly too.
J. W.
Had a lovely meal there tonight, food was excellent, staff lovely. The place looks lovely after it's make over.
N. C.
Called in for a quick beer and a bite to eat,had the 2 courses for£10,we had the fish and chips and and Apple crumble and custard. It was really good, and we definitely be going back.

Really nice staff served us today. Place looks cleaned, plenty of seats inside and outside. Food was brilliant in taste and presentation. Prices a bit higher than expected but worth.

J. F.

M. R.
Beautiful pub and great staff. Only went there for drinks but the food looked amazing!
D. S.
Sunday lunch was first class, very tasty and cooked to perfection. Staff very attentive, will return for lunch again.
R. H.
Completely empty on a Friday night so no atmosphere at all, plus basic food which was nice enough but not worth the drive out means we more than likely won’t be returning.
The steak pie wasn’t home made disappointingly. Also there wasn’t quite enough gravy for my liking. Apparently the chilli con carne was also nice enough but again nothing special and not really worth travelling for. Lovely building though and the service was alright (although there were more staff than customers so it would have to be..)
L. P.
Lovely food, friendly staff and nice atmosphere.
A. C.
It was our first time at booking table on line yesterday and it was so easy. We then needed to alter the time and the staff were most obliging.
On arrival we were greeted with smiles, the service was great and the meal was excellent we all ate different dishes and there was no complaints from anyone. We are older and to be finally eating was a bit weird but it was obviously all in hand. The staff were continuously cleaning tables and we felt in safe hands.
We would come here again without any qualms.
Thank you for a lovely experience.
C. C.
Lovely pub with a lot of history behind it. Excellent food and first class service. See you all again soon
R. C.
Been a few times now and the staff and food are brilliant, great choice of drinks.
The staff are really friendly and welcoming and the menu has a great selection of pub food. There is an outdoor playground out the back to keep children occupied during dry weather.
K. F.
Lovely and warm friendly helpful team looked after our rotary club superb with great sandwich sausage roll quiche and chunky chips! Excellent, thankyou xx
G. B.
Went on bank holiday Monday, bit packed outside but not crowded inside. Service was fast and the staff we're friendly and professional. The meal was good and hot, wasn't the best meal I've ever had but it was nice. It was a lovely, modern and clean pub on the inside and will definitely go back.
R. S.
Been tonight for a birthday and cannot complain what so ever! We were seated where we asked, straight away a drinks order was taken along with a menu.... after a few moments we were yet again greeted with a smiling young lady who took our order, the food arrived... and I must say it was presented beautifully and was delicious! keep up the good work such a gem of a pub with beautifully presented food and great surroundings!
J. N.
Friendly service. Good drink. Great chunky chips.
a. b.
Lovely food and friendly service
M. B.
Delicious food, large portions, friendly staff and good beer. Well worth a visit
g. h.
Love what they have done with the old pub, a very sympathetic face-lift,It's a tricky task to pull off but they have done it in style. They have kept the character of the old and made the place feel more roomy with the use of clever glass and wood partitions. Great seating and eating areas outside and a large play area for the kids.
S. D.
One of the nicest meals in a while, from start to end. Food was fantastic, big portions indeed. Couldn't fault any of it. The staff were very friendly and very efficient. Thankyoj. Will definitely recommend and also be back again. 👌
F. H.
Service was good but the roast was not the best.
S. G.
Called in for a bank holiday drink, made very welcome by I think was the manageress. Extremely clean. Ample parking at the rear of the pub with loads of outside seating. Really impressed by the layout for Covid restrictions. Decor inside is beautiful. This pub is top of my list now. Love it.
G. B.
Beautiful building that retains its character while benefitting from a recent refurbishment. Warm welcome, good food.
A. S.
Not been since lock down. But must say was very disappointed with the service.. went for a meal on Sunday in a group of 10 to celebrate a passed relatives birthday... we were sat on 2 different tables.. although we were in the same room... both tables ate at different times.. although food ordered altogether.... menu was a piece of a4 paper and very minimal and expensive... drink choice has changed I don't think I would dine here again which is a shame it used to be very nice
K. F.
Great value and excellent portion size, for those with a large appetite.

M. H.
Excellent since the referb. I went last week with my wife and we both had a lovely lunch. Staff are welcoming and helpful. The menu is condensed but a high standard. It's not like a traditional Robinsons, it's like they have been allowed to sort their own food out and each time they have out out quality. We had the duck salad and soup. Both were filling. Today I went with a friend and his children, the staff immediately noticed that children were in the party and made sure we had a booth as that would be easier for them. The children's menu is as expected but the quality of food is high. Spag Bol and a sausage and mash was ordered. High quality meat was used, clearly sourced from local farms. I chose the chicken salad this week. Still very nice but now I have had the two I would recommend the duck. The quality of the meat and the cook/quantity is amazing. There is also a lovely little park with slide, climbing wall, fireman's pole and rope ladders for the children to play on. It's all contained so is very safe. Also was a pleasure to see the chickens roam free too. It certainly won't be my last visit
K. l.
First visit for us. Was shown to a table after just walking in. Special lunch menu, was lovely. Homemade chips, lovely crispy batter on the fish, delicious.

Nice ambiance, busy lunch time. Could do with more staff
T. R.
Nice pub, lovely play area. Sadly found the staff a bit rude, we didn't realise it was order by phone from app, so asked staff they were a bit curt, like we should know. Food ok, limited menu. Bit pricey too, Personally we wouldn't go again.
J. T.
Food was good. But we booked in advance to sit with our family they said tables would be next to each other with social gap between them . But on arrival were given back to back tables so couldnt even see half of my family while eating. The table we should have been on remained empty for the 2 and half we were there !!!
l. p.
Lovely traditional pub with a nice beer 🍻 garden. ☀

Amazing! This pub was such a lovely place to come to the bar staff are so lovely and work really hard the food is amazing big open areas nice and clean. Loved it we will be coing back soon x
R. A.
Great place with excellent food and lovely staff. Only thing I found a bit strange was no napkins on the tables. Might be a one off but doesn't subtract from the 5 stars it deserves!
S. C.
Looks to of had make over, very nice, food was lovely although menu changed sounded more up market but was basically the same is, chicken burger, with melted cheese, bacon and BBQ sauce, was hunters chicken except the chicken came on a bun, prices gone up slightly but this is to be expected. Will go again as I said food was very good.
L. C.
Very nice environment since being re furbished. Staff very pleasent and helpful, good menue but first two choices none left and was only 7.45, if it hadn't been for that would have given 5 stars. What we did have was very good though, would definitely go back
j. c.
Good food and staff. Very pleasant surroundings

Really good food for very reasonable prices. The chicken burger, nachos and loaded fries have all been on point. Looking forward to working my way through the menu.
M. H.
Stopped for a quick pint and loo break on the scenic route back home from Birmingham. Sat in the lovely beer garden with a climbing frame for the kids. Ordered a few pints and the plum sausage roll.. Wow! For £2.50 it's great value! Very tasty too! Had a look at the menu and will be heading back next time we are out for a drive, food that we saw come out was presented well and seems well priced.. impressed for our first time and will be back soon!!
A. K.

Excellent pub food even though they were a member of staff missing on the day!
M. G.
An absolute pleasure! we have dined here this evening and can honestly say that it was our most enjoyable meal out in a long time. The range of cask ales (7) was fantastic and varied and my partner complimented the wine selection as a bit of an expert! Needless to say by the review the food was excellent. Give this place a try, you will not be disappointed.
E. J. D.
We were guest's at a birthday party & enjoyed a great buffet meal. Unfortunately l missed out on the soup as l didn't realise it was there. It is worth looking what is on offer before joining the queue. Great atmosphere & very comfortable

T. J.
Stopped off here and enjoyed a lovely meal. Called in again on journey back. Friendly staff, lovely food.
b. b.
Very friendly staff, I had cheese and onion pie but found it very dry would be better with the option of gravy perhaps in a little jug on the plate, I did not like the chunky chips and they were not cooked enough they looked very pale not golden would have been nice with peas not mixed veg, we will come again and hope this review helps to put things right, the Bleeding Wolf is a very nice comfortable place to be!!!!!!
P. S.
A Robinson's establishment - but with the feel of an independent. I like their take on a European beer - Helles (Hell-es they say). Plenty of space, different sections / areas, dog friendly, very welcoming and accommodating. The food looked and tasted like some time and effort had been spent on it. We will be back.
S. R.
Lovely pub, very pleasant staff and food was excellent. Will definitely return

Food good but not good when waitress rolls eyes at you for asking for vinegar when she already asked if we wanted sauces etc.
F. D.
Lovely pie new potatoes and veg. I've Been twice for lunch now and really enjoyed the food.
P. B.
Meals were good value and tasty staff were excellent .Very clean and lovely setting. Look out for the Wolf on the roof
D. S.
On first seeing the menu when seated by the staff were thought there was not a great choice of food. However on studying the menu we realised there was adequate choice and when the food came out it was extremely good food and great value. The staff were extremely friendly and efficient.
C. S.
Lovely pub, starter was amazing, pate, but mains were a little disappointing. Chicken and ham pie barely had any chicken and ham in it and the chicken curry also didn't have much chicken in it. Was tasty but expected more.
E. H.
Absolutely an amazing experience yesterday; service in point and 100% compliance with Covid19 regulations.
Well done and thank you 😊
Food perfect as always 😋
T. P.
Good food, excellent service, very clean and nice atmosphere. Well worth another visit.
J. H.
Good service, pleasant staff, good beer.. clean and tidy beer garden outside areas
C. Y.
Very nice only went for a drink. Sat outside lovely suntrap. Service very good at the table.
M. B.
Food was great, service lovely and that beer garden is fantastic for everyoneincludingfamilies, especially in the sun.
J. L.
We originally came here nearly four years ago while on holiday in the UK because of The Legend from which the pub gets its name, which involves my oldest known ancestor. We went out of our way to come back again this time because we remembered the food is great, the atmosphere is wonderful, and the staff is very friendly and accomodating. Happy to report that has not changed.
M. M.
Excellent restaurant with very tasty food and nice atmosphere.
J. B.
Nice cosy pub that sells good food at a reasonable price. However when we went they advertised 30% off mains. Would have had a meal there but when enquired at the bar we were told that we had to pre book to get the offer. Their loss as there were 4 of us and the pub was extremely quiet.
S. R.
Good food but think for the money some attention should be paid to the finish on some of the dishes. Had the ribs, nicely seasoned but a bit dry and herby...needed more sauce. Service and speed good and will go again
J. T.
Really good Great food👍
M. B.
Lovely atmosphere, friendly pub. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. They had a few vegan options which we tried and overall had a nice evening!
S. H.
Very rare to get fantastic, pleasant staff and good food. Went to this place on a whim and was really surprised by the excellent level of attentive service and beautiful tasting food. I will be back for sure!
S. K.
Really nice, 6 adults, three kids aged 6, 3 and 2 and 9 empty plates. Friendly welcoming staff, nice country pub atmosphere and good selection of beers.
A. D.
Fantastic staff, great food, very clean, entertainment is great, have a lot of events outside through out the year, classic cars, fetes extra, very popular pub, a lot of times I would advise to book before hand for a meal
A. M.
Great garden atmosphere and kids loved the play area. Food good but could do with some finese.
C. W.

E. O.
Lovely lovely place. Very homely with excellent warm staff but won't let me have one of their cool Helles Lager jugs when i requested 😁. Overall a splendid pub. Kudos
G. B.
A lovely Birthday meal. Will defo be back
R. D.
Nice place and lovely staff. The presentation of our meals on the plate was outstanding.
But...
The coq au vin was nothing of the sort (it was grilled chicken with gravy) and the chicken Kiev seemed to be made from processed chicken.
Everything was nicely cooked but these errors of judgment were disappointing. We'll give it another try another day but it isn't in my A-list!
P. S.
Great place, as I like walking I very often drop in on my own and very often in other establishments you can feel a bit the odd one out but not at the Bleeding Wolf I always get a warm welcome and nothing is to much trouble. I would highly recommend this great pub/restaurant

My meal was good.however my wife asked for her meal with no dressings.it came with dressing.oil and mayo.all they did was wash it put it back on plate .water was on plate and mayo was on potatoes.poor show.menu was bit pricey for pub grub.
