Popped in for a pint after a nice walk. Lovely weather so sat outside overlooking the canal. Dog friendly. Warm welcome from the lady behind the bar. I had a quality pint of Guinness and my wife enjoyed a raspberry gin and lemonade. Food being served looked so tempting. We'll certainly be back.

Friendly, welcoming staff. Excellent BLT Club sandwich with chips, and a well-kept pint of Wainwrights. Good value too. Lovely patio area alongside the canal with full awning and heaters if needed. A great place for our lunch while walking the South Cheshire Market Towns Trail.

Five of us went yesterday for lunch and were really pleased with our meals. We all had different meals and desserts and they were served quickly and efficiently. They catered well to my mum in law who struggles with certain foods. The butcher in the group said his mixed grill was one of the best he'd ever had! To top it off, the bar is dog friendly so Bert got his day out too and it's in a beautiful location. We'll definitely be back.

Had a great meal on Monday evening. My steak was perfectly cooked and so tasty and tender. My wife had scampi, which she loved. First drink was a little flat but the staff had no hesitancy in changing it. A great venue by the side of the canal.

Lovely time. Friendly staff. Lots of locals and dog friendly. All age groups. We ate outside as it was a lovely day. Three people walking past recommended this place to us as we moored our boat. We didn't feel unwelcome in our workaday boating clothes. Just a little disappointed that they had run out of Sunday dinners and fish and chips, but it was very busy and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and sticky toffee pudding. Prices were good and menu was varied. Will call again on our way back.

I have been coming here for a fare few years now and I have nothing bad to say. All the staff are very friendly, welcoming and couldn't do enough for their customers. The food has always been brilliant never had a bad meal. And I love in the summer when the weather is sunny to enjoy a nice cold pint and sit in the beer garden next to the canal. I can't thank everyone enough who work hard that includes the landlord and landlady who I have seen working on numerous occasions and they are make time to say hello and ask how we are every time we are in .

We had a wonderful evening there tonight. The fish that my wife ordered was huge and I really enjoyed the rump steak. You could tell that the chef had seasoned it well and it was cooked to medium rare to perfection. I sampled 4 of the hand pulls and they were all on cracking form. Great campervan stopover with lovely views and a level car park. We will definitely use this place regularly in the future

Typical pub grub at the expected prices. The place is quite big but has a lovely atmosphere that seems friendly enough with a range of places to sit on the inside and out. It's situated along the canal with covered outdoor areas, heaters, planters, dog watering stations and smoking areas. I enjoyed my stop here and would definitely look in the place again if anything just for the perfectly situated seating areas that are a great place to soak up the sun on those few occasions we get good weather. I ordered the sirloin steak medium rare (which actually came cooked correctly) and it was accompanied by chips, tomato, mushroom cap and peas for £15 and the peppercorn sauce was an added £2ish but it was nice and filling and no complaints.

Rang to ask if we could park and sleep overnight in their carpark in our campervan. No hesitation, the polite lady sad this would not be a problem just park overlooking the canal side for the best view. I asked if we could book a table, again very efficient and polite she reserved a table under our name. We arrived, parked had a coffee, walked our dog and then went into the Broughton Arms. Nice, welcoming and friendly atmosphere. We ordered drinks real ale and a gin and lemonade. Our meal was excellent as was the staff, and reasonably priced. We slept with no interruptions and were not hurried to leave the following morning. Overall a very nice relaxing experience and we would not hesitate to return. Regards Craig & Annette Wright

We went last Tuesday for Quiz night as we were passing on the way to Llangollen on the canal. It was an amazing night and my partner loved all the 80’s music. We nearly won because they give you a head start if there’s only 2 of you in the team. The steaks we had were lovely and we are planning on stopping there again on our way back next week

The Pub is lovely and the Staff very attentive. The meals were served quickly. We were a party of 4 celebrating my 70th Birthday. The other three members of the party enjoyed their meals but I am afraid yet again I had a steak (rump) which was both tough and grissly (to the extent I had to remove a mouthful of grissle from my mouth. Now I find more and more that restaurants and pubs cannot serve a decent steak and it is time, I think, to forget about ordering one in the future. A good steak is possible because I had a perfect rump at a different establishment just 2 weeks before. The waitress may remember that I left half of my steak. I used to complain at the time but found it upset my dining friends and the best result was a replacement meal which I had to eat on my own because the others had eaten their meal by the time mine arrived. Have to say it spoiled my Birthday.

We came for Sunday lunch after a recommendation from a friend who lives in Rode Heath and it was amazing. Really nice tender beef with homemade roasties, Yorkshire puddings and 4 fresh veg with lovely gravy. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Great selection of ales especially the Wainwright and 61 Deep. This will now be our family Sunday roast go place. Really good pub

Each time I come Stoke-on-Trent to visit my Mother we make a point of going to the Broughton Arms as they except dogs of which we have to Cavalier King Charles. My mum is in a wheelchair but we are always feel welcome and the meals are excellent, in quality and value for money. The location is also excellent next to the canal with lovely beer garden for those fine weather days. Give it a try I know you will enjoy.

Fairly standard pub fare. I had the potato skins, scampi, and a pint of Wainwright. This pub is dealing with the shortage of pub staff by having everyone order at the bar. Food was nice and sat out by the canal. I'm 21 and was driving past and decided to stop for lunch. I was on my own and was sat down and I ordered a drink. Unlike every other table sat out, whose drinks came out on a tab, I was expected to pay for mine straight away. It was something that I didn't mind doing, however it instantly made me feel singled out and untrusted. Just wasn't needed.

There was 4 of us in the party I couldn’t book online as they had a problem with the system so we just turned up they were very obliging they took us to the dining area we’re we could choose where to sit which was good because 3 out of 4 have mobility problems we sat done & got our food sorted which was all cooked to perfection well done the kitchen staff nice & snug surroundings lovely staff had a lovely time for my 87 year old dad who was more than happy couldn’t stop talking abou his day out bless fab & thank you all Mrs Cheryl Abel

This is a great pub by the canal, but the foods gone down hill, noticed a different chef today a young bloke, not the normal women her food is good, we will still go for a drink but will not be eating here again, had to stop at the chippy on the way home, curry is OK on a Wednesday night.

We visited on a Monday. This pub is very close and convenient to the visitor moorings with a view over the canal from the outside seating. I really enjoyed the cheese and bacon burger. There was a mix up and the wrong order was brought out, meaning I ate followed by my dining partner. The service was good, a proper apology and it was rectified quickly. Please do look at your single use/disposable items. The BBQ sauce with the chicken starter was served in a washable ceramic pot. Ketchup and mayo are in individual sachets. We tried to hand back some of the 6 ketchup we were given before bringing them to the table but were told they'd be disposed of because they had now been touched. It seems like such a waste rather than serving in reusable pots that you already have.

This pub has been my local for a long time. The alcohol is cheap and the bar staff are always friendly. Sunday roasts are an inexpensive, decent meal. Definitely recommended if you're in the area.

Lovely Covid Safe Place .. plenty of outdoor seating and eating .. staff were all lovely and spot on with track & trace 😷👍 no offence but would prefer a secure bike rack so cyclists can lock up securely (bikes not insured locked onto wooden structures ie. picket fence) and you are situated right on the canel waterway cycle route 😉 all flagged I mean geared up for European Cup ⚽️ 🇬🇧 nice touch with the undercover area with 2 TVs 👍

A lovely Pub at a lovely location. This is a Brit Stops Pub which we used to park our Motorhome overnight. Situated right next to the canal. A pretty quiet spot even though there is a main road alongside the car park. Food was excellent and staff friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend!

Family friendly and dog friendly pub which has a welcoming feel. Has a large games bar, with pool table and darts, a smaller, quiet area and another large bar, when you can eat. Outside seating, alongside the canal, which is great in the summer. Has a car park. This pub is definitely a local for lots of people and it has a lively, friendly atmosphere.

So a certain revisit on initial impressions was then questionable. As revisiting a place from yrs ago with positive memories a real shame.

Nice pub. Great menu but on the day we went 09 02 2019 the wind we were told kept blowing the gas out resulting in a 2 hour wait. Needless to say we went to another venue. If a wait of more than 30 mins is in the offing the a restaurant either needs to stop taking orders or stop serving all together.

We have lived in the same location as this pub for 3 years now, location wise the broughton is perfect and has a lovely beer garden, food is okay too and has improved since the last Chef left. The staff have always let this place down, the servers aren't too bad and are quite nice actually, but the majority of the staff behind the bar constantly have attitude problems, I'm very polite and use my manners so there is no excuse for the way me or my partner are spoken too. There is one other pub in the village called The Royal Oak which has homemade food which is excellent, it has a beer garden with a proper built in play area for the kids and the staff are very nice! Which makes a huge difference when you've gone out to relax. The three stars rating is because of the attitude of the staff which completely ruins the experience!

This lovely pub is a great place to eat, inside or outside when it's warm and sunny if you decide to eat out when it's warm your right beside the Canal and you can watch the Boats and walkers come past all day.the food is wholesome and tasty but in busy times you will wait a while for your food, it gets busy mostly at weekends and when it's sunny the service is fair and you can take your Dogs in the Bar and outside where water is available on tap and plenty of bowls for the water so a varied menu to suit most tastes. They also have guest beers on most weeks. Worth a visit if passing.
