J. w.Went with 3 friends as soon as you walk in there's a very friendly atmosphere the girl behind the bar acknowledged us straight away which was nice, ordered our food and drinks and then made our way to our table, didn't have to wait too long for our food which was hot and well presented, I had Chicken Tikka Curry which was very tasty chicken was moist and the sauce was creamy but lots of flavour, poppadom was crunchy and not greasy the Nan bread was lovely and soft. Another friend had Hunters chicken the chicken breast was huge and another had a mixed grill which she couldn't finish so goes to show what a good plateful you get, last of all was the burger which was succulent and tasty and it was soon polished off. Two had desserts one sticky toffee pudding and one apple pie which looked scrumptious devoured in a flash. Thouroughly enjoyed the food and the relaxing atmosphere, nothing was too much trouble for the young lady who served us and she was also working on the bar. Do like the 2 for 1 offers, will be visiting again very soon, gave 4 ladies a very relaxing and enjoyable catch up

Prices are very high compared to other similar type menus at other pubs. (£24 for a mixed grill and £15 for a lasagna and salad) the two for one offer simply made the price equal to other places and therefore wasn't really an "offer".

D.Your offer is confusing cheapest meal for free ok so it worked out me £10 for standard size plate plated carvery & £10 shop bought steak pie chips& peas now both these are now overpriced plus I prefer to help myself to potatoes and vegetables and gravy your menu does not state choice of veg and it was a good job I like gravy !! The food was nice cooked but I sorry I shall not be returning unless prices sorted and you sort the carvery out I'm afraid there are places offering wider choice and more value for money

T.The food was awful, chicken was hard and over cooked breaded mushrooms were dry and tasteless, the prawn cocktail was supposed to be cold but was served in a red hot bowl which curdled the sauce. The service was diabolical, it took over 45 minutes for the starters to arrive, and one of them was missed! They also missed all of the dips with every starter, a small drop in the ocean of the awful meal. The manager has just about the worst attitude that I have ever seen, he offered to compensate us for the issue which happened, we were not at all happy but accepted the apology and the value he had given us. Then 15 minutes later he returned with a voucher for significantly less than his promise. At first he told us it was because that was all they had printed but when questioned he then told us his boss had over-ruled his initial promise. I would not trust a word that leaves the mouth of the management team. Then to add to the ongoing issues, the atmosphere was not one for family dining, the large group attempting to penetrate each other with a child's balloon, the same group shouting abusive football chants across the kids play area, while responsible for their own children. Avoid this pub at all costs!
K. V.Saturday 5th March. Celebrated my 60th birthday with my family. There was 22 of us. I cannot find the words to express how fantastic the staff were. The food was amazing. The service was 5 star plus. Nothing was to much trouble. We were all served our food together which must have given the kitchen staff a headache lol. But you nailed it. Thank you so much for making my birthday celebration meal perfect. We will definitely eat here again and soon. Well done Horn and Trumpet a massive round of applause to you all 👏👏👏👏👏

M. P.We visited the horn and trumpet today with our dog . Firstly I'll say this place is very dog friendly with is always nice . On my arrival we were greeted by a very charismatic and charming young lady called Charllote . She was very pleasant and allocated us a table even though we had not booked . Our dog was also offered some water which I always think I a nice touch, it makes our dogs very happy after a long walk across the near by river .Both the service and food were on exceptional quality and I whole heartedly recommend this pub. 👌

There were a few free tables and another couple arrived before me, so it was good to know you didn't need to book in advance ( although I'm sure you would be advised to at busy times ).
Good things: staff welcomed me on arrival and were pleasant and friendly throughout. They stock old mout Berry non alcoholic cider. Very few places have it available , so that was great. The food was good quality and the menu had a good selection of choices. The place was clean.
Bad things: the prices have gone up dramatically since I last visited. Main courses used to be around £12, but now most of them were closer to £16 to £18. I decided on buttermilk chicken, which was a starter and had them with a side order of sweet potato fries.
The venue used to be a great place for friends to eat or families to go, but at these prices I won't be visiting again unless it's a special occasion..

S. F.Our Christmas meal has been booked for over 7 wks. We were informed as we waited for our Turkey Christmas meal....no cranberry sauce! This is at start of Christmas menu season...what is going wrong with the ordering system?The waitress offered Yorkshire puddings in leu of cranberry sauce....which we all gracefully agreed to. The waitress then came out...no Yorkshire puddings!!
After meal we ordered tea & coffee to finish off lunch. The milk arrived in a plastic ramekin dish which was split & the state of the teapot as shown is appalling. We did tell the lady, she was apologetic....but with the state of the 2 teapots....we chose to not drink the tea.
I do understand that the waitress was apologetic but these are clearly issues which should not be happening.
Needless to say.....we have used this place for our Christmas meal since it opened.....sadly to say for the last time!

Which was very unexpected and was so though full of the manager. Who told me remember it was our Anniversary when I booked the same day to book a table. P. B.The team here dug us out of a bit of a hole. We needed a location for a wake and were struggling. The Horn said yes, set us aside an area. We didn't ask for much, but everything we asked for the answer was yes. The foods better than you expect for "2for1". Quite a lot better. The staff coped well and came and took food orders when we could have gone to the bar like you'd expect. Then the bill was smaller than we thought it'd be in the end as well. Somewhere I'd happily go back to.

The food is a 'two for one' type pub which I marked 5 star within this type of expectation. We were served quickly and the food was tasty with good value for money.

D. W. (.Only really been in for the quiz night on a thursday and that is always fun but can get very busy so it is worth booking tables in advance if you think it will be busy. The staff are nice and the place is well furnished, however it does feel like what it is which is another mass produced pub lacking real character. The alcohol selection is good but not great and it is definitely over priced. But other than that its a good night out.

P. W.Quality of the food was very mixed. The lamb chops were good but the chicken pie virtually inedible. To be fair the management refunded the cost of the pie and said that other people had also complained about the chicken pie.

T. W.It's alright OK meals it's buy one main meal get one free good choice actually but each time I've been food been lukewarm and my first choice they hadn't got. It's also a pub that sells alcohol so you would think they had some yeah but agen 2 drinks I asked for hadn't got......I would try agen. Does get fairly busy been at lunch time which was OK and also a Saturday night that was busy so be prepared to wait. Nice seating area outside with outdoor heaters which was nice.

M. P.Booked 3 tables for a birthday meal for our daughter.. staff let me drop off balloons,table toppers and a birthday cake earlier in the day.. All tables ready for the right time.. food was good and all but one meal arrived close together.. Only down side was the meal was wrong so instead of waiting while everyone else ate it was excepted even though it wasn't what was ordered..
We had a lovely time in a relaxed atmosphere and our daughter enjoyed her birthday party..
T. W.Staff went above and beyond to accomodate us and our fur babies, asked for a bowl for them so they could get a drink and the staff member came out with treats aswell, would of been 5 stars if the wine wasn't so expensive.

A.I eat out regularly with my wife at varying eateries throughout the county and I can honestly say that our server, Helen, was the most conscientious, accommodating, friendly and honest server I've had the pleasure to be served by. She was the shining star of the visit and the food was really good too!

S. F.For starters I had buffalo cauliflower wings and I was a little skeptical but I absolutely love them! Will be having them again, I had the button mushroom bourguignon pie for my main which was also delicious but would have perfect if it had gravy. My dessert was delicious, raspberry jam doughnout dessert but was a little hard to break up even my OH struggled. All in all will be coming again to eat the entire vegan menu!

When it was delivered was a glass of raspberry? flavoured gin with britvic diet tonic in a bottle. When drawn to the supervisor's attention she said the 'girl' needed further training.
