Had a fabulous Christmas lunch here recently. The group included friends with mobility issues and the staff were really helpful and patient. All the meals were superb and the order was correct. Drinks were brought to the table and the lovely lady serving us even managed to get a group photograph us all, even though she was busy. There was a discrepancy with the bill, with some having two courses and some three, but it was quickly rectified. There is plenty of free parking and the place was warm and welcoming. We wouldn't hesitate to come to The Black Horse again.

The photos on the website don't do the pub any favours. The food is lovely, the steak pie was very tasty, my friend had gammon and it was huge, the sticky toffee pudding is probably the best dessert I've had in a pub. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Really nice food and was great to see a great vegan menu since my mum is vegan and she normally struggles to find anything. But this was great, lots of choice for her and its all homemade aswell. I had steak and ale pie and it was delicious, glad that I could have a normal menu so there was enough choice! Staff were also super friendly, definitely recommend!

We come here each month as a big family treat get together nothing is to much trouble lovely food good value but the staff are wonderful the waitress is a grandma herself and makes Charlie who she watched grow up from a baby feel so special we never ever think of going anywhere else now as it's all here a really lovely special pub try it you won.t be disappointed

Great food! The tables were a little bit close together for our liking, with no windows open for ventilation (Covid19 concerns). Possibly due to staying in for the past 18 months it also felt a little expensive! However, a great choice for a pub meal.

A table of 9 booked for Sunday lunch, Most of us had the Xmas Dinner, all the food was lovely. Better service than the last time we visited although they only have 2 members of staff serving the bar and waiting on tables. If its a nice day like the previous time we visited and there are people outside as well, they struggle to cope. It's our local and we've visited a few times, we always enjoy the food.

So went a few weeks ago and felt comfortable with staff wearing masks get your own drinks off the tray etc. Tonight it felt like Covid19 did not exist. Young female staff leaning over us to serve. My wife and I leaning back to stay out of way. Not a good experience. The cleaning was good but the close proximity of the staff made us feel comfortable. Shall not be rushing back.

Try to come here every couple of months and never disappointed. We had a party of 10 but all the meals were served at the same time and to a high standard. A number of us had Steak and it cooked to the diners choice. We had no complaints and will definitely be back.

This is a lovely little pub to visit for a meal, nice relaxed atmosphere with very helpful and polite staff, and their food is first class. Lovely place, lovely staff. Initially I thought it was a little expensive looking at the menu but actually the portions are huge and every thing is made with love. I had the vegetarian lasagne and chips, garlic bread and salad... no need for pudding here! There was also a local band playing wich really added to the atmosphere. What a really nice evening

We've visited a few times since lockdown was eased and must say that of all the places we've been the Black Horse are managing Covid restrictions really well and the best we've seen. Food is good and staff are really friendly and welcoming. Good quality and felt really safe. Well Done!!

One of the best customer services experiences! We went for a post-xmas meal with some friends. One had a 12 week old baby with them that wouldn't settle. The (presumed) venue owner offered to push the baby around in its pram whilst her mother got to eat her food. Fantastic customer service and lovely food!

Well kept pub. Service at bar fast and efficient. Food served until 9pm. Delicious! Varied menu, including vegetarian options. Staff helpful and polite. Ladies toilets clean and well provided, soaps, hand moisturizer and loo roll. Covered smoking area, with outdoor seating too.

Visited 12th March for lunch. We use to come here many years ago regularly, but the food quality deteriorated. Today we thought we would give it another chance. We had cottage pie and steak and ale pie and it was lovely. There was too much for me to eat. I could not manage all the tasty homemade chips. We got nice veg and a jug of gravy each which was very tasty. We will certainly be coming back. Sue Cooper

Really amazing and delicious vegan food with some real thought into it. I visited and had the pan seared polenta with hazelnut mash and a port sauce which was absolutely delicious and the person with me had a ranch burger which I'm told was just as good. Only slight downside was a longish wait on food(about 40 mins), but for that food I'd happily wait and get amazing quality for only £25 for two meals and two drinks.

We were disapointed on our last visit to the Black Horse. The waiting time for the meals was too long. The food was not to the excellent standard as our previous visit. My meal was oustanding an item which I had to wait 15minutes for. This arrived just before I finished the rest of my meal. When we raised these complaints we were told that it was the manager cooking and not the normal chef. :(
