Reviews of The Dog

Interesting little pub with friendly service. Very much caters for the Ale drinker. As a lager drinker I didn't have much to choose from (Carling or Staropramen).
Better than most of the other pubs in Burton town centre.

Superb range of beers, great landlord and landlady. To be fair for a town centre pub, this is to me a great local! Very hospitable, welcoming and friendly. Cannot fault to be fair! A must visit!

Recently refurbished pub, close to town centre. Always a good, and changing, selection of real ales, including at least one stout. Also a good selection of ciders. Ham or cheese rolls available.

A great beer pub in a mainly lager brewing town A good variety of beer and stout. Clean, friendly atmosphere and a wonderful landlady. Only downside no meals

Excellent place to go, now the old ginger landlord left! Its friendly, everyone is welcome, double bonus if your dog drags you into the pub. Excellent choice of beers and burton tapas available, recently returned. Loz and Craig are excellent hosts

Seems like a haven for ale drinkers. On arrival, I thought all the beers were 'off', as the display clips were turned backwards. This turned out not to be the case - it's a safety measure during the pandemic, to discourage people from standing around the bar area. It's table service at present, like most other pubs. Not far from town centre, Market Square and Riverside.

Always the place in Burton for beers that you've never tried. The dog to me is a starting point of the night. guest ales, stouts and porters. Would recommend especially for burtons heritage ❤️

The Dog is an excellent real ale pub in Burton-on-Trent, a short walk from the centre. From the beautiful half-timbered front to the rustic, cozy decor that invites you to unwind and linger, this is a first rate place. The selection of hand-pumped real ales is more than adequate, and they're all kept fresh. The staff are friendly and will help you with the selection if you're not quite sure which guest ale to pick. One of the best options in Burton.
