We booked a table for 3 at 12.15 but really it was quite quiet and we probably will just call in next time. It was very open and pleasant where we sat and the staff friendly and attentive. With it being lunch time there were two menus available. My wife opted for the 4oz steak on the lunchtime menu, I chose the same off the main menu and our grandson the New Yorker sandwich. All the meals were served up quite quickly and cooked perfectly. I must admit there was ample food on my wife's lunchtime menu steak and I would opt for that next time and probably put the extra cost onto a starter or dessert. Both the the starter and dessert menus had enough to tempt the taste buds as well. We'll definitely be going back again. Properly cooked very tasty food, great service and when went at lunch time parking at the rear was fine and you stepped straight into the dining area. Definitely a must go to eat out place.

Amazing quality of food, we ordered 2 steaks and a Sunday dinner. No complaints at all. Meals were really good and well portioned. Staff were all super friendly as well. Lovely atmosphere they split the food and the drinks only areas so it wasn't too loud when having a meal. Overall will definitely come again in future

Food is excellent and served in portions that leave very little plate visible. The staff are pleasant and attentive. The choice of beers is very good, e.g. Doombar, Sea Fury, Bass. The decor is a little worn and not what it once was when this was just a pub.

Lovely food and lovely friendly staff. Unfortunately a smaller menu than the last time i went but all the same the food was beautiful. Three of us had fillet steak all done differently and all a lovely steak. The Lucifer sauce is a must to accompany your steak. Also a good selection of real ales and largers.

Had the take away curry last night....lovely. Excellent quality and great portions with all meals. My kids ended up fighting over the chips, traditional and to die for. Will be visiting more often to support these guys and will be booking a table again as soon as they can reopen. Lovely traditional pub,sad to see it empty at this present time but im sure they will survive with the quality and service they are currently providing to the community with the takeaway service they are running. So glad they were highly recommend to us.

We’ve ordered Sunday dinner for collection. We all had different meats Lamb Shank, Beef and gammon. Great selection of vegetable mash, roast potatoes, carrots, parsnips, cauliflower cheese and Yorkshire pudding. All boxed nicely. Food was outstanding. Value you for money unbelievable. It’s not worth cooking a roast dinner. Try it for yourself. More importantly support your local business.

I had the take away fish and chips meal .The service was very easy they come to your car ask your name and then bring the order to you . The chips was tasty the fish was a very thick fillet also very tasty and the mushy peas was also very good .So over all good service and good food for a fair price what more do want on a Friday night.

It's a nice place. Good menu. Service was very slow and my food, although very tasty and there was plenty of it wasnt hot enough, especially the mash and gravy. The plate was cold to begin with. My two friends ordered an icecream sweet each and they had to ask about it again before it finally arrived about 30 minutes after placing the order. If you don't mind waiting it's a nice place to eat.

Good selection of beers will be trying their steaks out this week if they same as always worth going to cracking food well we went tonite 24th sept for our wedding anniversary got admit place been cleaned up a bit and painted as it was looking a bit tired but u cannot fault the food absolutely spot on if u want a good steak do not hesitate book here it is worth it 5* for food

Fantastic little pub, great service from every member of staff, lovely food and cosy atmosphere. Me and my friend went for dinner, we had the three courses for £17.95 and it was all lovely. The staff are a credit to this pub and were all delightful. Well done guys your foing a fab job!

First visit to this pub last Sunday for a family meal. We had 20 in our group including young children. The pub was very cosy and although we were a large group we were all able to sit together. Staff were all very friendly and excellent with the children. Drinks were served to our table. The food was absolutely amazing the kids meals Caleb put with the starters which was really good and without even requesting this. The main meals were amazing all home cooked food and all meals were out together so we could all eat together which was surprising considering we were a large group. Portions were excellent sizing and we were able to choose from a large range of accompaniments including homemade chips, homemade sweet potato chips, hash browns and a lovely side salad. The staff could not do enough for us and the chef was also very friendly. We will 100% be returning. The pub has a car park, toilets and a small outside seating area. Would highly recommend. Menus are also available on the duke of York Facebook page which is public.

2 of us went for Lunch 22/02/20. Ordered Honey Ham, egg, chips, peas, mushrom, salad and onion rings from the luchtime menu. Portion was amazing for the price. Could not fault the food or the service. Will be going again.

Been tonight to celebrate my husband's birthday yesterday. Taken our son and our best friend. My husband had garlic bread for starters and our son had garlic mushrooms and bacon. Our best friend had brie wedges so did I.We all had different steaks which were cooked beautifully to how we wanted and myself and our friend had vanilla ice cream it was lovely.A young lady called Layla served us and the service was fantastic the food was too.My husband and everyone had a fab time.Would highly recommend the duke of York it is well worth a visit .And we will definitely go back again and it will be recommended to our other friends.

The atmosphere from the moment you step into the Duke of York is perfect, quiet, relaxed and friendly. We were a party of four and tried different things from the menu all were beautifully cooked and tasted amazing. The staff were cheerful, charming and attentive without being over powering. Very traditional pub, low ceilings, white washed walls with exposed wooden beams. Seems to be a battleship, navy connection in the pub too. Well made hearty meals. Very good beers, 5 on tap. Quite expensive but portions are large and tasty. Car park in the back. Bar in front, restaurant and bar at rear.

Went to the Duke for my first mothers day and was really impressed. We have now just moved to Barlaston, my husband and I both and starters followed by steaks, the food was fantastic and the staff were really friendly, will definitely be going again!
