Four of us been here tonight. I had the burger. Very nice. 3 rib eye steaks. All eaten. Sweets too. Good menu and prices fair. They do a party night menu. 3 courses for 20.00 so will book that next time. Caters well for GF. Very spacious pub too.

Great meal in a very nice pub. Usual pub meals on offer. Really tasty Steak and Ale pie. Recommends the cremey garlic mushrooms for a starter and fudge cake for desert. There was a hair in the fudge cake but it was promptly changed. Staff were all very nice and welcoming too. Would recommend visiting. Cost is on the higher side for pub meals but worth the expense.

Food was great, pub very clean only thing that let our lunch out was been over charged, this is the second time only £2.00 this time would of left that as a tip but the attitude of the guy on the front desk when challenging the bill, didn’t explain the bill just changed the item which was incorrect, his customer service skills were disappointing never got a thank you just walked off in a huff only 1 star ⭐️ if it was input in computer wouldn’t of had to query the bill the table service was excellent though unfortunately won’t be visiting again.

Visited here last night with a table booked for 6pm. The order was taken fairly quickly but the wait for the food was extremely long. The waitress were obviously untrained and there were not enough of them. When the food arrived the orders were incorrect and had to be returned and one order was at least 5 mins after everyone else. They obviously do not have enough staff and the kitchen are getting the orders wrong, unfortunately the girl waitresses are taking the brunt of the mistakes. On the plus side the food was good but we would not go there again.

I had a weekend in Cheshire and was taken with a party of 7 of us for a meal. I was astonished the way we were invited to go and sit by the window. It had been booked for 2 weeks before us going. Took 3/4 hour to be asked what meal we wanted. And a further 1/2 hours wait, the meals especially the steaks were poorly cooked. The Manager needs to be shown how to talk to people. I will certainly not be going to the Horseshoe Inn again.

We went here on short notice on a Tuesday evening - relatively quiet and super cosy! Log fire was lit, looking like a proper British pub. We're both vegetarians so we weren't expecting much choice, which there isn't, but the veggie chilli that they had OMG it was delicious! Such a generous portion size, and sooo tasty. Not many staff, so service is relaxed, but very friendly and it's a fabulous place - we'll be back!

We seemed to have a long wait, 4 adults and 2 children, we'd asked for the children's meals to come out first as they were hungry, the staff seemed to be waiting for the children to finish before bringing out the adult's food when we really wanted them all together but priority given to the children, possibly just a communication problem. It was our first visit, the food was good and I would certainly go again. Thank you.

The pub seemed to be understaffed during our visit here. It was rather busy and the majority of the benches were filled. We waited around 30 minutes before getting our first drinks and the starters came around an hour later. It's a nice pub and has lots of areas to sit under if it starts to rain. There's a little play area for children at the rear of the car park which is safe.

It's changed! Oh what a shame. Lazy inattentive service, coupled with unnecessary delays whilst the waiting on staff engaged in conversation with each other. Food was acceptable but nothing special. I had the whitebait for starter and the Sunday roast ham with all of the trimmings which had to be honest was just thrown together. A real shame.

Mothers day disaster! 4 hours total sitting time. 1.5 hours to even be served starters. 2 starving kids. Owner claimed 2 chefs hadn't turned up for work. Although mothers day was dissapointing, I would go back again. Food was lovely, the staff and owner worked flat out to appease everyone and we did get a free round of drinks for the inconvenience. Nice chilled place with a children's play area.

While the food, atmosphere etc is lovely here, it pains me to leave this review but I do to raise awareness. Tried the government scheme eat out to help out today. No complaints about what we had but found out at the end that there is a service charge - obvs extra and not part of the scheme even though government is already providing support. I’ve no objection to such a charge when it is clearly visible and I actually receive service to justify it. Had to get up twice to ask for water and extra sauces, no one came to check things were ok. Good job they were! I am happy to pay service/tip if it is earned.

Try the specials! I had the Sea Bass on Dauphinoise Potatoes, and I can honestly say it was the best restaurant meal I've eaten in my life. The potatoes were creamy and flavoursome, the fish was tasty and had the most perfect crispy skin, and the veg accompaniment was fresh and inoffensive and didn't take away from the main part of the meal! Definitely the kind of meal I would have been happy to receive in a restaurant costing twice as much!

Called in for some evening food for 4. "Monday night madness" 2 steaks with trimmings, and a bottle of wine for £25... Count me in! 3 steaks and a salmon ordered. Our meals came quickly, The steaks was cooked fantastically (rare), the salmon was damn near perfect and so were all the trimmings. Can't fault the quality, price, or service at all! Drinks were spot on and a lovely crisp glass of cider was had. If we're in the area again this will be our place to eat based on this experience!

My first visit to this pub. Customer service was excellent. The menus was excellent. But not if your a vegan and a cealiac. I had 2 choices. I chose the mushroom risotto. The mushrooms were tasteless and stringy and the risotto was like porridge. I have had this meal in other pubs and made it at home and it didnt taste like this.

A good quality bar and restaurant facility near Alsager. This place is a great comfortable local, not a long way to drive to for many South Cheshire/ North Staffs. folk. Really good choice of food and desserts. A comfortable eat and drink establishment is the easiest way to celebrate The Horse Shoe. Food is great quality and cooked fresh, the staff are friendly and helpful. There is always something to suit everyone's needs. The value for money is very good. The best bit is the fact that if you are having a family celebration, a private party or a school reunion, they have a good sized, separate area that can be used exclusively for your requirements. Highly recommend The Horse Shoe, sit back, eat, drink and enjoy. Just don't drink and drive!

The refurb a few years ago lost some of the rustic charm this place used to have. Cant fault the food or service though.

Having not visited for a while we thought we would give The Horseshoe another go as last time the service was very slow. It would appear that things have not changed! Understaffed, there was one Girl on and she was very busy. The food was good but after waiting half an hour we decided not to wait any longer for a desert or another drink. I think we will leave it a long while before we visit again. Better off at the Wilbraham.

Quite disappointed with our last visit, unfortunately 2 meals ( a starter and a main) were not what we were really expecting quality wise. The calamari was over cooked and you could not cut through it with a knife we had to send this back and remove it from the bill. The lasagne was spicy ? And came with chips as standard ? Really quite random and no real noticeable meat content. Unfortunately the staff were not that attentive either we were never offered second drinks or checked back on during the meals. It is doubtful that we will visit again soon.

The inside of the Horseshoe Inn looks far better than the outside, so don't be put off. The food is very nice with fresh vegetables, although the pie was a little too salty for my taste. Price wise, a few more £ than we normally like to pay for early dinner. When we asked for more gravy, we were told there would be an extra charge, which we found odd. Guinness and Doombar on draft which are great.

Atfer our meal sat with my wife,daughter and my son and his girlfreind who we travelled 40 miles to meet there to relax and have a natter how you do to the sound of not music in the background but staff hoovering up and then approached by another member of staff to ask if we could settle the bill has they wanted to close the till down and also most of the lights turned off or down and this was only about 10 ish which you get the feeling they wanted you gone even though there seemed to be a few locals at the bar still drinking . Maybe its me but when you have just spent over £ 100 pound in there you think they would be abit more thoughtful . Thanks .

Here once more at The Horseshoe Inn and yet again thoroughly enjoyed it, I can't praise the place enough I've never been disappointed in all the times I've visited. Well only when they got rid of the ponies from the field, but that's another story lol.... The service is good and staff are lovely, the food is beautiful - the cook works magic in that kitchen, credit to them it looks and tastes great. The Venison with Stilton cheese sauce, is awesome and your Apple crumble with ice cream gorgeous, thankyou.... A really nice establishment where you feel relaxed, the prices are worth every penny and I would recommend, even say it's the best place to dine for many a mile. Keep up the good work guys ♥️

Disappointing meal. Lasagne totally inebile. Wasn't offered a bill reduction for the uneaten meal but didn't want to complain too vociferously as it was a family event and didn't want to ruin the atmosphere.

This pub has a large, sunny beer garden with swings and slides etc for the kids so is a great place to enjoy a cold beer in the sun.
