J. D.I don't often post reviews but I've been coming to this pub for years and thought it was about time. The atmosphere is excellent and there always seems to be something going on whether it's a quiz, karaoke or darts. The owners are incredibly friendly and makes everyone feel welcome. The drink is cheap and of the best quality. There is one bartender in particular called Stewart, who pulls an excellent pint, and makes awesome cocktails. He's friendly, quick witted (always wearing one of his signature amusing t-shirts) and incredibly good-looking for his age. I couldn't believe it when he told us he was turning seventy! The music is always on point and the place is steeped in local culture and history. I highly recommend you go here. Best pub in the are hands down!
J. H.We called in on Monday( open mic ) night on the off-chance after a chat with a friend who plays his guitar there. There were a few people in and we were welcomed by the locals. The landlady had laid on food for everyone (sausage casserole)😋. Everyone who got up and played/sang were brilliant. We had a great night. Drinks at proper prices, food and entertainment brilliant 👏 👌... We will be going again as soon as able.

P. T.Called on a Monday to see Grant Matthew's on Acoustic Night. Very busy, good beer and nice atmosphere. Lovely lighting and candles on the table. Free cottage pie and veg though we didn't partake. Good artistes. Friendly landlords too. Really impressed.

Bartender was chatty although somewhat desparate for me to use contactless on the card machine although I insisted on using chip and pin. Pricing was normal not too cheap and not too deer. Alright pub if going past and need a refill, Would recommend.
