We have dined at the Swynnerton Arms several times over the years and I think it's fair to say that since their refurbishment this has become an even better place to eat. The food was well presented and tasted fabulous. The staff were polite and attentive. A great place to eat, keep up the good work.

Visited a few times in the past and always been underwhelmed and wondered why the car park was full. However invited for a meal with friends and was pleasantly surprised by the renovation, clean tidy and well presented, good basic menus and great prices, we all enjoyed the meals and good night out.

Went for a meal last night in a group of 13. We had to wait to be seated as the table wasn’t ready, when we got to the table not all of us were seated and the starters came out. No sooner had we finished the starters the mains appeared. Felt very rushed. We were all looking forward to the Waffles for dessert to be told they no longer do it. The menu on the website is not up to date so the prices are different and some items are not available. Staff were amazing, helpful and polite.

Couldn't have a table in the restaurant area although the place wasn't busy, it didn't seem as if she wanted us to. sat us in the bar area under a loud music speaker & a very cold draft coming through the window wasn't the best night out I've had for the price we paid. We just accepted this without complaint. Entry to the pub is confusing signs up saying dining this way then, then hand written signs saying toilets only although people were using that entrance regardless, a strange set up could be easier to navigate & welcome people in. Fairy lights were nice in the wooden arch outside.

The food was amazing, the mushroom Stroganoff arrived pretty quickly and tasted perfect, could have done with a tiny bit more rice, but might have been the second best tasting one I've ever had. Nice range on the menu and very good prices. Friendly staff. Not too busy, but certainly not quiet on a Monday evening. Please don't automatically give me a straw for my drink.

WELL where do you start the Swynnerton Arms not been there for about 12months and was told that it changed hands again first of all as soon as you walk in the difference is fabulous looks and feels a lot more up market the chap serving us was very helpful and polite I had creamy garlic mushrooms on ciabatta starter beautiful the wife had black pudding with a poached egg most enjoyable main I had home made steak and ale pie best I had anywhere with thick cut chips the pastry was to die for the wife had a beautifully presented rump steak with salad with the drinks the bill came to £42.10p excellent value for money but please don't take my word for it get yourselves down there well worth a visit we'll definitely be going back every week

Last minute booking for five, literally phoned for a table just as we parked up there after a 45 mile journey. Sunday afternoon, 3.30pm ish. I've got to say the food was excellent, really really tasty. 2 x slow roast beef dinners, garlic mushroom starter. The three kids meals were "Bussin!" which in kids speak is "really really nice". Burgers & big homie chips, chocolate brownie & ice cream puds. Glad they managed to fit us in, otherwise it would have been McD's. Great, fast & happy service too. We'll be going again, definitely. 😁👍👍👍👍👍

Lovely country pub, good food, good beer and excellent staff, but the one thing that lets it down is the sound system... there are speakers in every corner of the place (inside and out) playing very loud music at all times of the day, making it very hard to have a conversation with anyone, it seems a lot of people ask them to turn it down, I don't see why it's needed at all, it's a country pub not a nightclub.

Absolutely gorgeous meals, cooked to perfection! Michael made us feel very welcome and the atmosphere was cosy and warm. I ordered the steak and ale pie and chips, it was so good, I had to stop myself licking the plate! My husband ordered the lamb burger which was really tasty, with a lot of burger! Hope the new owners are here to stay, to put this great pub and it's long history back on the map, with the food and service like this they are off to a flying start. Amazing food. Haven't been here for a few years and I was really impressed. Came for the Sunday lunch and wow- amazing fresh vegetables, nice tender meat, homemade Yorkshire puds and the gravy was amazing. This place DEFINITELY beats any chain carvery place any day. Staff were mega friendly and the manager (had a red top on, didn't catch her name!) was very professional, friendly and really made the visit. Very good CV19 management in place too. Will definitely be coming back. If like me you haven't been here in a while, definitely pay them a visit!

The main ws beautifully presented and the home cooked chips and cajun chicken was very nice. the Rump steak however...... it looked perfect but unfortunately its was very tough and very chewy. it was very disappointing. the desserts was fine and enjoyed there is plenty of parking and also some outside seating. Overall a pleasant venue which I will visit again but steak clear of the steak. three course and 4 drinks and the price was good value.

Food was really good. We were sitting by the kitchen door which bangs everytime it is used, so sit away from that if you can. We also had to ask for the music to be turned down as we were right by a speaker. It was a family reunion and we were trying to communicate. The music was to our liking, but we will ask to sit elsewhere for our next visit.

Popped into The Swynnerton Arms today without a reservation. The staff were amazing they managed to find us a table and I then dropped the Gluten Free bomb. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and the chef very accommodating. The food was so tasty and the chef makes all the pies gluten free and thickens all his sauces with cornflour. Then we quickly realised the two courses were only £10. We will definitely be going back and telling all our GF friends about the place.

If this review was on the food and the friendliness of the staff it would be 5 stars. However the whole experience was disappointing. I realise we are going through very difficult times. We waited 1.5 hours, at this point they tried to serve us our main course, it was taken away when I told them we had not had our starter. The waiting staff seemed to be running around like headless chickens. We eventually got our mains over 2 hours from being seated. It appears they are quite short staffed.

Oh my gosh. The food here is TO DIE FOR. Can't believe the quality at a quaint country pub that has stood here for ever. And a big shout out to Cameron for being a fantastic waiter; funny, attentive, friendly really made for a career in hospitality. Visited on a Sunday evening, the restaurant area was about half full, a member of staff told us that they were very busy and if we wanted to wait for a table it would be 15 to 20 minutes and we could wait in the bar. !!! We went into the bar and stood at the bar to get a drink but we're ignored while everyone else got served, after around 10 minutes we were pleasantly surprised to be told that there was a table for us. We were seated, handed menus and told it will be about 10 minutes before you can order as we are very busy, by now there were less people than when we first went in, we just looked at each other in disbelief. Eventually we got to order and when the food arrived it was good apart from the roast potatoes which were very dry and tasteless, obviously frozen. Dread to think what service would be like if every table was occupied

Probably a bit on the pricey side but the main was very nice. The chips and seasonal greens were tasty. A word of preference from me would be to make your pies individually if you're going for a "chefy" look, that would be better than a canteen looking pie but the pie was nice. We have to remember it was just under £12 for the pie so I would expect a more "cooked to order" rather than cooked on mass. The cheesecake was what appeared to be from a big frozen one. Considering main was so nice the pudding was mediocre at best. I'm trying to keep this as constructive as I can. This pub should be a lot busier than it is or was. It is a nice pub

Haven't been for a few years. Heard it was under new management so decided to visit for my mums birthday (her choice). The decor was definitely an improvement but the menu felt a little lackluster, although they did have plenty of specials. Overall it was a good, inexpensive meal. The server, Kelly, deserves an honorable mention as she was the only front of house on duty and was running around like a headless chicken seeing to everyone. And she managed to do it with a smile on her face for the entire 2 hours we were there.

Visited on Sat evening 17 April with two friends. A very good meal and plenty of it. The staff and service was excellent. A good choice of menu. Prices were on a par with many other places we have been to. We were greeted with a very warm welcome. My only reservation would be is that we like to have our order taken at the table, and not lining up at the bar. Not a complaint, but just a little more personal touch. This would not put is off returning, and would recommend the place.

Boxing Day lunch! In October we enquired about lunch on Boxing Day we were informed that it’s was strictly the Christmas fair menu. Our table was booked for 1pm with a pre ordered 5 course set menu which was submitted in November. What goes for one goes for all is obviously not a rule the Swynnerton abide by as many tables were ordering off the normal menus. 50 minutes later our starters finally arrived, after prompting the waiter staff. Anther 50 minutes past before our main course arrived once again the staff needed reminding that we had not had our main course, you would think we were invisible. 4 hours later our 3 course meal plus coffees came to an end. However sorbet from the Christmas fayre menu was missed out. I understand that it is the Christmas period, however when the whole restaurant is fully booked in advance I would of thought the management would forward plan supplying adequate staff to meet demand.

Just had a long overdue refurbishment. Although it's now nice and clean they have actually made it worse. Can't comment on the food yet as I hav'nt eaten there yet bit the dining area looks nice. It's the bar/drinkers part that needed to be improved but they've managed to make it even smaller by adding another completely useless entrance, parallel to the original door. Can't understand it. They've lost what few seats they had by putting in a new door that they don't need. I only live around the corner. I was looking forward to the pub opening again, maybe my new trendy local. Sadly it was a big let down. Shame

Started off with great service and the main course was very nice (although our order was wrong, this was soon rectified) However, staff suddenly disappeared and we were offered no desserts or drinks throughout the meal. We asked at the bar to order a desert and it took 30 minutes to arrive, unfortunately 2 of the desserts were frozen solid and had not thawed out, these were knocked off the bill. We had high hopes, but we will hopefully try again in the future.

First visit to Swynnerton Arms for many years. Could tell the place has had a lick of paint but didn't think it looked much different otherwise. We were greeted and shown to our table quite quickly and a drinks order taken. Food order was not long afterwards although she did have to come back as we were gasbagging the first time she asked if we were ready. Had Harissa lamb starter. The lamb was beautiful but if I was being super critical, the cous cous was too dry. Followed it up with the sea bass and teryaki noodles. Wow! Thoroughly enjoyed it, fish was cooked to perfection. The noodles were really tasty. Very generous portion. My only 'complaint' was that we were not asked if we would like more drinks during our meal but we could have caught someone's attention and asked. I'd go again.

Since the refurbishment it seems The Swynnerton has been subject to some foul play by other local eatery’s and their loyal following. Talking to other customers whilst there, there have been some difficult customers as of late who seem to be over dramatic in their complaints and subsequent reviews. However, this has not been the case for myself and my girlfriend recently as it seems the staff (kitchen, waiting team and management) are taking on the criticism professionally and trying to improve. By all means they’re not there yet but I’m sure soon will be. Will visit again and am committed to supporting all local pubs and businesses
