Reviews of Toby Carvery Burton

Made a reservation. Food isn't bad turkey was pink and had blood spots in it. Beef gammon and pork looked fine.. vegetables looked good and all tasted good except for the Brussels which were very bitter. Pudding was was very nice. Bill was reasonable. .
The toilets definitely need revamping as does the rest of the building.

Ok the place itself is pleasant and parking is good. The food was not bad but it was not very warm. The portions of meat were good you helped yourself to veg. We were able to get our meals heated up so that was good. The service was good and polite. We went mid week so the meal was great value for money.

I've been to many Toby Carvery restaurants as I travel across the country for work. Over the past five years I have been to at least 25 different locations. The service at Burton was by far the best I've received at any Toby Carvery. Laura T was my server and was polite and quick to see to my needs, despite how busy the restaurant was at the time. Tia was the carver as also polite and gave a good portion of meat, compared to other restaurants. All the food was fresh, hot and well presented.

We were given a choice of where to sit, the waitress was super friendly and even gave us advice on what to get our little one to help save some money. The food was delicious and the place was nice and clean. Very happy customer and would definitely recommend.

Lovely food at a good price. Staff friendly. The only small thing was that there was a wait to order desserts and to pay. The staff were so friendly and welcoming that it didn’t worry us at all. I would visit again.

Our server Mary was the queen that everyone needs in their lives. She was upbeat, friendly, warm and full of enthusiasm. She treated us so well whilst we were there and made sure we had everything we needed. I would've stayed longer just to be in her company! The world needs more Mary's! Give that woman a pay rise!

Food is standard for Toby Carvery. If you don't know it, you're missing out.
However service that this restaurant was below standard.
We arrived at the restaurant on a random Thursday between mealtimes and the restaurant was maybe 1/3rd full at a push. We asked for a table and the manager did a whole song and dance as if he's helping us out, doing us a huge favour and told us they can offer one but we Must vacate within an hour.
We very quickly ate our food and as instructed vacated our table within the hour.
Restaurant still only half full on leaving. Literally no need to be rude as we came in.
Will revisit Toby, just not this one.

The food was great, as always with Toby. The staff member serving the meat on the deck was great. Unfortunately the rest of the staff were not pleasant or friendly or even looked happy or as if they wanted to be there. The duty manager was particularly miserable, short and sharp.
