Reviews of Toby Carvery Trentham Village
T. B.
Clean pub, friendly staff, excellent AYCE breakfast. Hash browns could've been better but plenty of bacon and sausages....
I. P.
Had dinner and breakfast.
Staff excellent. Cost of drinks and food very good.
Chef a bit tight with meat for dinner.
Breakfast excellent.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
It was noticeable how clean the whole place was in the morning.
Excellent.
A. P.
Visited today and had a carvery. It was lovely. Plenty of meat to chose from and vegetables to go with it. Lovely and hot. There was 3 of us and it cost £34, best of it I had a £10 voucher as it was my birthday 🎂.
T. F.
The restaurant was very busy but me and hubby really enjoyed the atmosphere and chatting to a couple of people in the queue for the Carvery. The meat was succulent and the veg was cooked just right with lots of variety. The only bad thing I would say is that the stuffing is very dry but overall I would give it 10 out of 10.
M. D.
Top notch and great staff. Food was awesome and beer garden the best I've seen in stoke on trent
K. S.
Our go to place for Trentham Scouts planning meetings. Recently refurbished it's nice and clean, previously we have always had a good carvery at a reasonable price too. Gets very busy on a Sunday, but to be fair even on a Thursday evening it was pretty busy. No problem getting a table and they have the footy or rugby on in the main bar area.
Bar service can be a bit slow when it's very busy but is fine on a slower night. Beer range is the biggest failing, no real ales on draught just Pedigree and Doom Bar.
M. S.
It was a really good Toby Carvery experience.
Had food in the bar area, everything was delicious. Just remember if you are in the bar area and you want the bigger size to tell them when you order. They might not offer it to you otherwise but for us it was no biggie!
d. s.
Good value, but I personally don't like standing food. As much as still warm, it is never clear who has handled what
J. E.
The food was very tasty. Everything was cooked perfectly. Its been a good few months since I last visited and they have made a few changes to the dining area. It now looks modern and fresh, and with local features really adding to the appearance to a Toby Carvery well fitted to Stoke-on-Trent. Excellent
J. B.
Recently refurbished the Trentham Toby Carvery now offers a much improved dining experience. The decor is now lighter and fresher and new dining booths have been added. The food is typical of Toby Carvery with several roasts on offer and a plethora of vegetables. Great value for money.
J. W.
Surroundings better and cleaner
The food could do with being hotter
Also someone needs to be behind the carvery counter at all times as customers are waiting to get their meal and there is no one there. When they turn up there is no apology for keeping you waiting and it comes across as being an effort to serve you. This is not a new thing its been going on for quite a while
S. H.
Pretty good meal, a little awkward when they have to fill the plate bit big meal and plenty of choice with 5 roasts on a Sunday, pork, beef, lamb, turkey and gammon. Mash, roasts and plenty of vegetables to choose from.
I. P.
Had dinner and breakfast.
Staff excellent. Cost of drinks and food very good.
Chef a bit tight with meat for dinner. …
S. H.
Had all you can eat breakfast, just caught last orders. Didn't have as much as we would of liked but food was good. Will go again. Been to the carvery a few times now, food has been good and plenty of veg. Depending on who serves the meats depends on how much you get. Some seem to think it's them that's paying for it. But on the whole very good and worth the money.
m.
There's not a lot of restaurants where I feel you get value for money but Toby is definitely one of them.
Depending on the time you go you can get a delicious carvery, drinks and a desert for roughly £15-£18 I would give you 5 stars but your pepsi from the drinks machine tastes like smart price coke.
M. M.
Decided to visit Toby Trentham after it's makeover and it didn't disappoint.
The new look is amazing with some new cosy table areas. All the great familiar faces there to serve too. I live in Stafford and we have carveries, Stonehouse one is nowhere near as good as Toby. The food, drink and service were all fantastic. Even nice to see a nice clean working gent's loo!.
My only gripe, which is a petty one is we were seated in an area near to the carvery area. So it was a tad warm.
N. T.
We were staying overnight at the travelodge next door, so we came here for dinner and have few drinks. The waitresses were very nice and helpful, and the bar facilities are more extensive than most Toby carveries. The next morning we came back to breakfast to be greeted (if you can call it that) by possibly the most unhelpful and miserable waitress in memory. Just don’t order an orange juice, as this can complicate things horrendously and it was only later that we realised we were charged just as much for two glasses of concentrated orange juice from a carton as the breakfast itself.
K. M.
Andrea (romanian) waitress, excellent people skills, very prompt, never stopped. She got 10.
The place needs more fresh air, doors open. Very busy and waited 45mins in the queue for the carvery. Was so hot and stuffy. Front of house didn't inform us of the wait time in the queue and just stayed at the front door where it was nice and cool! Not much presence from the management time, left for the wait on staff to keep the customer happy and listen to the moans.
j. k.
We didn't catch the man's name as he wasn't wearing a name badge as he was fairly new, but he did explain that he had just started his training and came over from the Ashbank which we said we had been to before but much preferred Toby carvery a d he said that's why he switched companies. I think any company would be lucky to have him on board, he makes a great impact for a Toby customers experience.
M. S.
We booked a table at short notice for Sunday lunch however there was no immediate availability but only an hours wait so we decided to book it...
We received a warm welcome and was informed they were running approx 15 to 20 minutes behind so handed a handheld notification buzzer and best order our drinks at the bar and wait for our buzzer to go off which was around 20 minutes..
We ordered 3 adult carvery's and chose at least 3 meats which was succulent pork, roast beef and turkey...
Vegetables were fresh and not dry like I've had at many carvery's and the service was great too..
Would definitely be back..
G. B.
We were given a gift voucher for a Christmas present. We love the food at Toby carvery , it's delicious. Our grandchildren and daughter all enjoyed their meal aswell as ourselves. Well organised and clean, lovely site with character.
T. C.
Its been refurbished but seems the shrinkflation dept has had its say. More seating, longer queues, no lamb, poor quality beef & thinner gravy. Some veg cold or in v short supply. Only just a 3*
M. P.
Lovely atmosphere, amazing food. Hospitality from the waiting staff was perfect. Couldn't fault anything. Will definitely go back when visiting the area.
D. W.
An excellent carvery with great sports coverage in the bar. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Best place to grab great food or watch a game/race in Trentham. Highly recommend it.
F. M.
Just visited The Toby Carvery on a busy Sunday for lunch, Luckily I booked a table for 3 at 12, by 1pm it was very busy,Very pleased with the buffet, plenty of fresh veggies, nice and hot, good choices of meats, staff very friendly and hardworking,Had drinks order from the table,I had diet pepsi, there were unlimited free refills,Thought the price for the drink was expensive at £3.50 tho,Not much choice of beers🍺 partner was charged £3.50 for pedigree,Only small fault was stuffing was a little dry,and the mash didn't have butter in, Saying that we shall have a breakfast there in the week to sample the breakfast buffet!
D. S.
I was pleasantly surprised how nice my meal was. I had turkey and the others had mixed. The food could have been warmer and I did think on reflection you are quite expensive.
J. M.
Not a lot of restaurants I feel offer value for money but Toby is definitely one of them, a delicious carvery, pudding and drinks (for 1 person) for about £15 depending on the time you go.
It would be 5 stars but your pepsi from the drinks machine tastes like roller cola
L. W.
Food was good but when I arrived (after booking 24 hours in advance) they couldn’t locate my 7pm booking so we had to wait for a table 50 mins later. I wasn’t that bothered as I wasn’t in a rush but the booking system needs lookin at as now I will worry that my online booking will fail
P. D.
Very good food..staff friendly and accommodating. New layout is much better and more spacious. Will definitely return
M. C.
First time visit after refurbishment..food really good and staff helpful and efficient. Will certainly be going back to enjoy another lovely meal.
r. b.
It must be one of the best breakfasts we have had, really great choice of food, food replenished frequently, spotlessly clean and friendly efficient staff.
C.
Went here at 1 with a booked table today. The waitress was lovely. Got seen fast and taken to the table. Lovely food, I'm stuffed. Only complaint are the ladies toilets. Some toilets hadn't been cleaned, the hot water taps weren't hot and it was icy cold in there. Other than that..lovely.
K. M.
Great service. Roast potatoes to hard. Pastry on the pie hard. Not much veg in the bowls. The stuffing was hard and dry. Did not enjoy our meals.
J. C.
Quality of the meats very good ,cleanliness of property just been refurbished excellent ,pleasant staff veg savoury could be kept topped up better and cleaned more regularly spillage of vegetables did not look appealing
R. B.
Nice selection of breakfast but on this occasion no tomatos (due to supplies) plenty of toast and tea/coffee unlimited but I find the food not very hot unless it's freshly cooked
d. s.
Good value, but I personally don't like standing food. As much as still warm, it is never clear who has handled what
M. D.
Top notch and great staff. Food was awesome and beer garden the best I've seen in stoke on trent
S. W.
Very happy with quality of food and service really enjoyed my wife birthday lunch will come again
S. S.
Lovely staff and it looks lovely and fresh inside. Only had a snack so can't comment on the carvery.
G. D.
Despite having recently undergone refurbishment the restaurant has no air conditioning and in the current weather the high temperature is very uncomfortable.
R. C.
The carvery selection is excellent with choices of 4 different roasted meats. The vegetable selection is fantastic. Our favourites were the cauliflower cheese bake and the sliced potatoes in cream. Simply scrumptious!
A. S.
Went there last minute decision. really nice portions, food was lovely and hot.
good atmosphere ,
staff were very friendly will go back .
T. p.
Love the food at toby carvery, as always first class. Staff efficient and friendly.
J. H.
We visit toby carvery at Trentham at least twice a month which has always been lovely however we visited on 17/02/22 at 19.00 and found a member of staff quite disappointing, we queued at the carvery where the potato dauphinoise was empty a stocky guy with a beard came out of the kitchen so my husband said excuse me mate is there any more? Where the rude man did not even look up and took the lid of the potato dauphinoise at the back and walked off? Very poor customer service a simple yes there's more here would have done! The waitress was lovely very friendly The food was lovely as usual the only thing I would say is that the vegetarian gravy was very watery.
T. W.
Breakfast was nice but it was a shame they didn’t have the potato hash or Yorkshire puddings which I had been recommended to try by a friend. This was despite us arriving an hour before breakfast service finished.
s. f.
We did a walk and sat outside for a drink. Desided to stay for the carvery. We got a table for 4 inside. Enjoyed it very much.
L. U.
Great food at a great price. The service was very good, the staff were welcoming and didn't seem put out by our youngest's indecision.
S. W.
Been today and the food was hardly warm our table of 4 left the bulk of it for this reason the lady who cleared the table looked at what we had left and asked about it we said it was cold she said if you had said earlier we could have done something about it I am assuming she meant put it in the microwave will try China gardens next time always had good food there
K. E.
Had a good experience in the pub but the car park is very large and almost completely unlit. Could see only one light and that wasn't working. Not as safe and secure as it needs to be!! Even had trouble seeing parking spaces. Felt unsafe. Also not very visible from the road and almost drove past.
R. L.
Amazing food, all staff were so pleasant, helpful . Well worth a visit,or two.
L. B.
I think carvery should be unlimited, although we had king-size plates we definitely wanted more. Everything was nice and fresh though
M. B.
It looks a lot better after the refurbishment, the woman on the front of house is not suitable for greeting people her demeanour is quite unfriendly, the food was quite good just the beef was gristly.
C. F.
Food is ALWAYS amazing.... Never have any issues with food quality here - by far the best for food within the Stoke branches.
G. B.
Lovely place nice and clean great value for money had the carvery gorgeous loads to choose from everything cooked to perfection and the staff are brilliant my wife is disabled and they helped me out they are really nice people totally recommend it 😀
I. H.
Had a breakfast meeting and the food was great especially as you can choose yourself. Well worth a visit
L. P.
Very good carvery. Reasonable priced. Friendly service. Worth a visit
D. T.
The venue was clean and bright. The table was clean. The food was hot and there was a good selection of veg
C. B.
Excellent carvery and all the staff were great, nothing was too much trouble.
S. L. M.
Had Carvery, reasonable flavours, although found mashed potatoes quite dried out and roast potatoes burnt. Fast table service though friendly helpful staff
L. S.
Went trentham Toby been shut for a month for refurbishment, worth the wait looks lovely inside and out, carvery was to the usual high standard, staff were friendly and attentive, will be seeing you again soon thank you
C.
Being a toby fan I was disappointed with this particular carvery. The food was very dry looks like it had all been there a while and the taste & texture backed this up unfortunately. Even the side portion was overdone which was ordered separately and had to be returned as it was too hard to bite! Compared to others I have been to, it was very quiet at the time I visited which may have contributed to a slower turnover hence the food. On a positive note the waitress we had was lovely.
J. R.
Great hot food. Tea and coffee was a little hard to find but that's due to the lay out of a old building
j. w.
Lovely carvery everything tasted lovely and good catch up with friends 😊
J. F.
Fantastic food , wonderful staff and very attentive all set in a beautiful building , very clean , would recommend a visit 😀
G. E.
Food was nice. Bar staff were very helpful and very friendly.
T. S.
Outstanding visit to the restaurant today. Food excellent as usual, staff attentive without being obstructive, nothing was too much trouble. My partner accidentally left her phone and we received a call to alert us to it before we'd even got home. I believe the lady who served us was Sarah and on each of the last three occasions we've been she has always been wonderful. Great job all round.
L. L.
Lovely place, busy on Sundays 😁
L. R.
Booked a table for 11.30am Sunday, thinking it would quite busy... and in fact it was quite empty! Carvery wasn't ready but we didn't mind waiting. However when it was ready the place soon filled up and got quite noisy. Choice of 4 meats - lamb, Turkey, beef & ham. Plenty of veg and Yorkshire puddings. Beef gravy and usual sauces. Lamb was ok and turkey was good. Veg was good. Service was OK. Enjoyed the meal but nothing that special, except you're not preparing, cooking and washing up. Place is dated but clean. Though I think it becomes more untidy as the day goes on.
f. b.
The service was excellent the young lady that served us was great to have for service too
M. H.
Great food and service. Lovely helpful staff
D. J.
Always a good meal here, Can be busy at times but what does that tell you, only downside is their lack of real ales at the bar nothing I like this time so it's good I enjoy a Guinness now and then, definitely recommend and certainly will be back soon..
T. C.
Turkey from carvery very tasty, the veg was cold, gravy ok.
Disappointed with decor
J. H.
We visited for a late breakfast and the selection was very good. The food looked freshly cooked; the eggs were soft and the hash browns were nicely cooked.
Rest rooms were clean and the staff were friendly.
J. F.
It was beautiful food 5 star and staff very polite and worked very hard 💖💖
M. S.
We called in at the Toby early one Saturday morning looking for a good breakfast and that's exactly what we got.We were asked to choose a table and then made our way to serve our own breakfast, buffet style. There was plenty of choice, food was well stocked up and good service. It was also nice to have a steady stream of coffee. It was very busy but the restaurant had plenty of nooks and crannies to sit in.Well worth it.
R. L.
Hard to see what the refurbishment has achieve but still a decent standard of food
A. W.
All you can eat Toby breakfast. Good value. Would just have been that bit better if they cooked smaller amounts more frequently than too much and leaving them in the hot trays.
D. M.
A limited selection of veg, disappointing not made better by an alternative of macaroni cheese (!) thought it was a great British carvery but an Italian restaurant.
M. E.
Lovely carvery. Great value for money and very friendly staff. Would definitely go again.
M. K.
Selection of veg not very big, no lamb, end of beef looked like it has been there since lunch time, menus dirty.
D. A.
Meal was good but with it being busy service was a bit slow, could perhaps do with more staff
Z. V.
Took friends for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Plenty of fresh food, staff friendly and helpful, great value. Have also had carvery in the past, always fresh and tasty, again great value for money.
T.
Great quality carvery food and plenty of choice. Service prompt and friendly.
T. S.
Good serve yourself breakfast although I did despair when I saw everything looked over cooked! It all tasted great though. Help yourself to drinks and toast as well.
Virtually no interaction from staff except at the tills but it works well.
Air conditioning, clean, good atmosphere. 👍
e. a.
We arrived with an extra child than what we booked for, but it was no problem they fitted us in for breakfast this morning. We were seated quickly but had to wait a little while for food as the queue for the breakfast counter was quite long. The restaurant looked as though it was full to capacity for breakfast, definitely in the main dining room anyway, and the drinks service was a little slow as a result. We did have to ask a few times for drinks top ups, but when they arrived they were hot and we really enjoyed the food. I paid on the app to save the waitress fetching the bill and card machine as she seemed a bit stretched. Would definitely recommend the Trentham Toby carvery they did their best on an unusually busy morning
B. P.
The place is looking better, they didn't give much meat at all. The veg was alright though.
P. H.
Carvery you just can't beat it....veg potatoes and the gravy and nice quality meets excellent....
B. O.
It's Toby Carvery. This means its always consistent and a good plate of food at a reasonable price. What makes it worthy of 4/5 stars is the staff, they're polite, friendly and nice to chat with. We go occasionally as it has a bit for everyone among friends and family. It does get incredibly busy so best to book.
J. B.
Good visit. Slight wait before being taken to our booked table. Service good and friendly despite being busy. Food was decent ( roast potatoes too hard and cauliflower too hard, Yorkshire puddings looked beyond sad). Beer was good. No problems parking.
L. B.
Great carvery, nice drinks, friendly service. 100% recommended.
T. G.
Nice food little bit stingy with the meat but the beer was very good 👍
D. H.
Service was good and the carvery nice and fresh and hot
P. A.
Good quality food. Toby carvery has a good reputation
M. B.
An excellent choice of food all piping hot
C. w.
One of the better Toby carvery's we've been to. Clean, staff are always friendly. Whenever we take a trip to Trentham gardens, we always make sure we visit at least once during our stay. Always very consistent!
D. M.
Lovely friendly staff, very nice food, will certainly be coming back, thank you 😉
B. L.
Breakfast buffet was decent and reasonably priced. Drinks were good at the bar. Staff were friendly. Great service. Would return.
e. s.
Food was served on cold plates veg were lukewarm not hot meat was gristly won't be going back had better food at a Harvester
t. w.
Cabbage looked well past its best, beef was well cooked but very fatty.
Service average, reasonably quick as was quite when we went. Not the best, but not the worst.
S. P.
We got to our table quickly, but sadly the service for the carvery let us down. There were ten people in front of us, and only one poor man serving. He was doing his best, but could not keep up with carvery AND doing the veggies! - there were several other team members in the kitchen, who kept peering around, looked at the queue and then disappeared again! We stood there for 15 minutesbefore we got served. One man walked out. Very poor.
L. H.
Eating with a Child with Allergies can usually be a difficult experience. However not here I can’t thank the waiter who served us tonight enough who thoroughly went through the allergy information with us and sorted separate food to accommodate my son due to part of the dish containing his allergies.
Thanks again for a lovely experience.
P. K.
Go every week, cannot fault, good food, good value, very friendly staff.
S. P.
Excellent front of house staff, little vegan options. Chefs seemingly unaware of allergens.
T. H.
Lovely beef and turkey but please book as it gets full
A.
The food is always of a good standard here (creamy layered potatoes were delish and ivve not seen them before at Toby) and it saves me lots of washing up compared to trying to cook so many veggies at home! The lady who served us was very friendly and there was a good atmosphere. We had planned to sit in the bar after for drinks but we were very hot in the dining area, in fact it was a little humid and unfortunately none of the windows appear to be openable. This was particularly a concern due to our caution regarding Covid security but other than that, all other precautions were in place. We'll definitely be back soon.
S. R.
Nice carvery, roast potatoes need more work, everything else fine.
S. R.
Great freindly service and always happy to help. The food is fresh and plentiful.
J. R.
Great local carvery which accommodates large parties. We like to go regular with family and the food has always been tasty and hot.
Went again today and the range of veg was great, all cooked very well.
C. C.
Great food and good service. It's a nice venue with some outside seating for when the weather is good. They had a great selection of meats on offer and the beef was fantastic. Great desserts too and not over priced.
J. L.
Went here for Sunday lunch..carvery, Absolutely brill, there was a choice of 5 meats, the potatoes & vegetables were cooked to perfection & hot..so tasty, the only thing I would say is to make sure you make a reservation as very busy, but definitely would go again
S. F.
Always quality food from breakfast to carvery lunch, friendly staff and literally as much as you can eat.
G. G.
Always love coming here for a carvery but was a bit disappointed for what i had last night, the vegetable options available were as usual fantastic but my gripe is for what you pay on a Saturday night and with a king size too was the thinly sliced small bits of meat on my plate, i asked for everything and was hoping for a bit more meat on my plate instead of tiny scraps cut by a razor blade, are you told to give little as possible for so much money?
V. W.
Always love visiting the Toby Carvery on Trentham Road. Staff are so friendly and always very helpful. Our server was amazing and couldn't do enough for us, as we were celebrating my mother in laws birthday. Thank you again.
S. H.
Lovely, no monkey on the menu sadly. I also fell victim to 'the last Yorkshire in the tray' which is always a disappointing time. Otherwise, great food, nice staff. Al good!
P. W.
Me and my wife, went mid week in as a pit stop, on the way up to Manchester. We ordered two carverys. Food is what you expect. But all the staff were very tentative and switched on. A member of staff 'kerry', was very polite, and you could see how good they were with their mostly elderly customers.
M. L.
Lovely venue, food is well cooked and generally well presented. However, sometimes some dishes on the carvery, under the heat lamp get dried out so go early.
W. M.
Booked today to go for dinner. Seated quickly and a lovely girl called Emma served us our drinks . We each had a carvery and it was all fresh and the two boys serving up were so polite and the young girl who took our dinners to our table . Couldn't help noticing the two lads who were serving up the food one of them kept us entertained with his singing it was a pleasure to see such cheerful staff.
C. G.
Decent breakfast but less choice than pre covid.
j. r.
Another brilliant meal at toby carvery trentham village. Had a slight problem with a member of staff regarding my son's disability, spoke to the manager who quickly sorted it and couldn't have been more helpful. Yet again we were treated fantastic and thank you so much to the manager for her kind gesture. Nothing was to much trouble like normal for the staff. Many thanks from all of us. See you all again soon.
S. R.
Very homely atmosphere. Large carpark, next door to an hotel if ever you need one. Accessible for wheelchair users. Lovely carvery and wouldn't go anywhere else for a carvery.
D.
Food lovely but covid rules in place causing chaos....causing more harm than good. Thought we would visit given 'freedom day' had been and gone. Instead of letting people sanitise hands or use gloves and help themselves there were 3 to 4 different staff members handling the plate leaving massive queues snaking round the place. Surely standing with a group of strangers for 30 minutes plus is worse...didn't make sense to us....Will leave it a while before visiting again till things are running as normal
L. C.
The staff were friendly and courteous the meal was hot and lovely
Thank you Toby Carvery
L. B.
Beautiful selection of meats veg very tasty
B. D.
Staff friendly and polite, carvery was not very nice, you can use the mash potatoes for cement and the sprouts you can use as house bricks but rest of carvery was nice
S. H.
Nice TC meal and just what we expected.
Good welcome when we arrived and great service explaining the new layout and how things work during these strange Covid times.
Really enjoyed my meal.
R. G.
Very good carvery good choice brill four star
A. L.
Excellent, great service, good food
R. J.
Absolutely amazing food and service, well done to the entire team for managing the service changes during the epidemic perfectly.
Our waitress Emma was literally the best and I felt obliged to tip her, the food was perfectly cooked in every way possible and I used to be a chef so have higher standards than most! Myself and my partner went to the China gardens a few weeks back and it was nowhere near the standard of Trentham.
J. H.
Commendation to the staff for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and safe seating. We were a family of 6 booked in fit 12.30 and we enjoyed the carvery and icecream sundaes. Everything was orderly with clear markings on the floor to keep us moving in the right direction. Our waitress was such a pleasant lady. Our whole experience was pleasurable.

Quick food easy service can't complain
C. H.
Great place to eat. I had the vegan mushroom and ale pie and it was lovely. All the vegetables were cooked excellently and lots to choose from. Highly recommend.

Good place .... not five stars as the gravy wasn't the best ......
S. H.
Delicious food. Great staff.
D. G.
We had breakfast two days running here. Because of Covid restrictions there was no self service. The breakfast was edible but they need someone in the kitchen that knows how to fry eggs.
B. M.
Tables could have been cleaned better, on our table you could see where the previous customer had placed their drinks.
G. W.
Meat and vegetables perfect as was the yorkshire pudding. Drinks machine was working for refillable drinks and staff were lovely.
J. W.
Very dark interior. Emma was attentive but too many people wandering around the premises with and without food but no masks. Did not feel very comfortable.
S. P.
Great food and excellent value for money
R. A.
Had a nice setting. Parking included. The meat served was skimmed down, very thin piece of beef and very thin piece of turkey.
S. o.
We went with friends and booked a table on Sunday. It was really busy but the speed of the carvery was excellent. The table was clean and they had the high chair ready for us as requested.
Staff were friendly and apart from taking a long time for us to get the bill and then the card machine they were very efficient.
We paid just over £10 each for our carveries and drinks were reasonable for refillable soft drinks and a small rose at £2.25 - reasonably good value.
The selection of food was great with everything you could imagine on a Sunday dinner. The meats were beef, pork, lamb and turkey. These were all cooked perfectly and carved with excellence. The veg and potatoes were all cooked perfectly.i gave it 3 stars because the veg simply didn't taste full of flavour, although it was cooked perfectly it didn't taste like much. The table we were sat at was dark with the decor looking tired which was a shame because I think most other tables were fine. The meat was delicious.
D. H.
Manager an absolute Diamond found us three tables close by with it being a football day was a feat and kept us topped up all night with great chat and banter throughout food was brilliant and well priced as we're the drinks
S. b.
All you can eat breakfast was amazing
J. L.
Food had been left out and had gone dry, not as tasty as previous visits, meat was very tasty. Good pint of beer, deserts were OK.
j. h.
They only recently allowed you to eat inside, they follow all the Covid rules. You can choose your food from the carvary but they fill yr plate and bring it to your table. Service was good and staff helpful.
K. S.
Everything was absolutely perfect for us thank you.
M. P.
As always v. good. Covid restriction s excellent. Was actually really easy with their form for ordering from the carvery. Actually easier than queueing for food. We'll done. Great staff and management. Hope more venues can put as much thought into the current situation.
L. W.
Very helpful, attentive staff. Food good, beef was delicious. Nice visit, will be going again soon.
D. W.
Really good food and great service
G. W.
Lovely breakfast at reasonable price
J. D.
Absolutely love this place. Lovely staff and the best meat ever, succulent and tasty. As much veggies as you want. Creamed spinach....mmmmmmmm.
This was our first meal out since lockdown and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you. 😊
C. I.
Always pleased with the food, and the staff are lovely x
S. M.
This is a lovely pub and food is great lovely refit
K. G.
Lovely choose your own breakfast, nice choice of items well cooked, the sausages are especially tasty.
Staff were very helpful we had a large party including three small children we were given plenty of space and high chairs and were not hurried along even though it was a busy weekend.
I would definitely recommend and look forward to dining here again the four meat weekend Carvery looks very attractive.
F.
Nice cavery .meat good .not dry. veg good. staff nice .Will go again .I can see why it's busy
D. N.
As far as chains go, it was good food and good service. Would recommend
T. O.
We've eaten here a few times and we're always pleased with the pleasant service and very good food and great value. Unfortunately on one occasion last year it was awful, food wasn't replenished as needed and the beef I had was awful, just gristle and fat. Potatoes and veg were cold and poorly cooked.
We've now tried again and it seems back to normal, carvery excellent and food perfect. That's why I've given them a 4 star rating.
C. W.
Birthday Breakfast all you can eat breakfast buffet with a great selection, with refillable coffee. Book now as fills up quick.
G. B.
Thankyou for making sure we have a table where requested without a long wait. Staff are very friendly. Always ready to accommodate. Food is good too. Looking forward to more special offers.
P. G.
Fantastic food, nothing fancy, just very tasty carvery. Friendly service too.
C. L.
Very well organised. Very please with service. Staff are very pleasant they can't do a nought for you. Food nicely laid out. Very good table service
M. M.
Update.. I visit for both dinner and breakfast whenever I can. I like the facelift its had and I do enjoy my visits. Staff are nice.
J. B.
Someone rang after a funeral if they could fit 14 people into the restaurant in half a hour. They arranged for us all to sit together even at such short notice. The carvery was very good. The vegetables appeared to be freshly prepared, unlike some carveries you go to. Staff was friendly.
G. B.
Reasonable food, bar team polite
J. M.
Excellent value for money and good food + refurb looking good too
P.
Breakfast is ace...staff lovely...
C. C.
Happy with the breakfast apart from they don’t serve scrambled egg unless u order which means waiting and the rest of your breakfast goes cold
L.
Very attentive service. Plenty of choice consistent with what you would expect for Toby Carvery, food does on occasion suffer under the heat lamps, but busy this evening so quick turnover. Treacle sponge was soft and velvety. Spot on.
K. L.
The lady that served us was lovely very polite and made sure everyone had everything they needed. Will definitely be visiting again 🙂🙂
J. J.
The food was lovely all hot and all meats were available, service was also quick and they were reasonably busy
S. S.
Lovely Food and atmosphere.
D. W.
Food and service was excellent but unable to inform the staff we was running late but they were very happy to seat us with in 5 minutes
D. N.
Family oriented carvery. Pleasant food
R. B.
Ladies toilets extremely damp and smelly :/ this is ongoing! Service quite slow, staff appeared to be rushed off their feet. Quick to be seated which was a bonus. Good standard of food, could have done with being a bit hotter.
R. R.
It's a Carvery. Lots of food but not much quality. Cheap prices, but it does taste that way. Ok but not great.
A. W.
This hotel was a favourite even before it was a Toby. Always a good meal, pleasant atmosphere and excellent service. The carvery is freshly cooked and well served with a good choice of accompaniments. It is even better now that online advance booking is available - no need to queue or wait for a table. Definitely a family favourite!!
J.
Popped in for a quick drink or two and all the staff were friendly and welcoming.
Social distancing was maintained and a nice pub....
Close to the canal and menu looked good too.
C. T.
Amazing food, great staff especially that Chris guy he's mint at carving and is really attractive deffo give him a pay rise
P. D.
Serve mint sauce whatever meat is being served
a. w.
The food and services are fine. Im a regular. But the place needs a bloody good clean. I noticed stains in the women's toilet 3 week ago. Came in two weeks ago told the staff they were still there. Came in today still there. Actually shocked how much cleaning is not done. Filthy.
J. S.
really lovely staff, lovely food, well reccomended
R. H.
Always a lovely carvery from here.. none of the food is Dry like many other Tobys around the City..
c. o.
Nice food,friendly staff
M. J.
Good Toby ... gravy let's its fown
M. M.
My husband was taken ill while we were there, the staff were so helpful making sure he was ok and calling an ambulance. Can't thank them enough
M. S.
Been going for over 16 years and always good quality. Not sure there are improvements to be made. Staff we have seen a number of over the years and majority have been great. Wouldn't go anywhere else for a carvery.
B. C.
I have visited this place many times. I am a fan of Toby carveries. It's everything you expect from a Toby. Staff and waitress service are friendly and efficient as always. Food is plentiful and good value. It gets very busy on a Sunday so expect a wait but you can eat anywhere in bar not just restaurant. However I don't recommend the breakfasts. I only been once and food was not and great it was well understaffed and the few staff on were borderline rude. Plus drinks were very overpriced. I expect fruit juice to be included in a all you can eat brekkie Toby! So lunch and dinner top marks ... breakfast I would not bother !
P. C.
Visited today and enjoyed the food. Those Yorkshire Puddings are hard to cut but there's a balance when feeding hoards of people, and it was rammed today. Just keep the queue moving near the carvery please guys as hungry kids don't like waiting. The staff are Friendly but are worked off their feet, so the punters need to give them some slack. TVs for the football are a nice touch.
A. S.
Excellent food and service, really good value for money.
K. L.
It's unfortunately not a very good Toby Carvery at all. It does not seem to be run professionally. The waiting time is ludicrous considering how many empty tables are always available. The chefs kept us waiting for about 10 minutes before being served the Carvery. Comes across as unstaffed, despite being the weekend! A sad outcome/review. I much prefer the one in Festival Park and would recommend anyone to go there for a true Toby Carvery experience.
K. J. S.
Love a Carvery! First time going to this Toby. It was so nice and just what I fancied. Team were really nice and the food was lovely. My only constructive criticism is that the Yorkshire puddings were very hard and crispy, when I took a bite it almost all just turned to dust.
Also when we first walked in there were some tables near the entrance and bar there were really dirty and when we left over an hour later they hadn't been cleared and tidied.
I would visit again Just hope the Yorkshire's are better next time. :)
S. I.
Excellent Sunday lunch on the carvery, beautiful roast lamb. Staff very friendly and helpful.
S. W.
Lovely staff and carvery, can't knock it.
D. B.
Brilliant. Carvery was lovely as usual. With a few vegetarian options too. Great value for money.
P. B.
You get what you pay for here, food was about average. Just a shame the building was very tired and lacked investment .
L. H.
Great little inexpensive carvery.
Fabulous hardworking staff.
Food is plentiful and very hot.
M. S.
Friendly staff and reasonable food, it was a shame no one was wearing a mask though.
I. P.
Popped in for breakfast, friendly helpful staff, great selection of cooked options and fresh cooked eggs. Good value for money as well.
D. S.
Called here as a breakfast stop off on route. The buffet breakfast was of a good standard with all the normal hot food choices with the addition of Yorkshire puddings and gravy. Good choice of cereal and selection of jams. Staff were OK but nothing special. Condition of location was in need of updating.
G. L.
Usually go to another branch so we decided to try here for a change & so glad we did it was absolutely delicious.
J. M.
If you like your traditional British roast then you should visit this particular Toby Carvery. This was the Trentham Hotel in its previous life and I first visited it as a 2 year old so I know it fairly well!
I use Toby Carverys around the UK as I travel quite a lot but this is our favourite. The choice of vegetables change and are interesting. The staff are always pleasant in a natural way, and although they are very busy, have time for you.
It is advisable to book to avoid waiting as it is very popular.
M. T.
Fantastic food, great staff working under extreme pressure, we will definitely go back
G. D.
Nothing wrong with food, slight difference it how it is served. Still a carvery but the chef now servers you your choice of vegetables.
But very surprised that a national chain had not supplied its staff with any facemask/shields. None of the waiting staff were wearing any sort of masks.
D. K.
A bit of a coin toss as to whether you get a good meal. Sometimes it's dry for being under the heat lamps. Other times it's great. You'll always get a good size serving and the price is pretty good!
The toilets need rebuilding, they're full of graffiti, broken doors, peeling paint, dirty etc. Its a real shame as the rest of the building is great.
K. A.
Great food and service .love the place outside .The back gardens are great if you have kids
B. H. (.
Massive beer garden in rear taking you well away from the noise and traffic of trentham road.great place to go on a summers day or evening.
S. O.
Plenty of choice but most of the food was just warm . Mashed potato had dried up . It was just edible
R. C.
Can't be arsed cook Sunday lunch. Order three kids meals to pick up. Done.
A. H.
I went for Sunday afternoon carvery, I selected lamb and beef as they didn't look dry (the turkey did). The ends of the chipolatas were charcoal and the carrots were mush. The potato's were OK (just OK). Overall it was an acceptable meal for a carvery, just "acceptable".
S. A. V. G.
Excellent breakfast. Always a good selection of food to choose from. Spotless and clean and a very welcoming atmosphere. Sunday lunch superb. The staff even when very busy accommodate your every need. Fantastic team work and certainly the best place we have eaten in. Well worth a visit. You won't be disappointed. ☺☺☺
T. T.
Stopped at travelodge which is attached to this Toby carvery, was only here a couple of days but was lovely . Staff were so polite and helpful food was amazing (think I over ate on both days) place was always clean. First time I've ever been to a Toby so I will be definitely going again. Well done all the staff keep it up x
J. H.
Generally very good. Food for omnivores, veggies & vegans. Helpful staff. Good value for money. Toilets in need of refurbishment but rest of pub in good condition. Go there once a week.
p. k. p.
One waiter told me the Bluelight card only works Monday to Friday only to confirm with another waiter that they also work on Saturdays.
S. H.
Great Christmas lunch, 3 courses, good value for money.
P. D.
Well priced and good food. Everything it say on the tin really 👍 staff all friendly and helpful. Would go again
C. F.
Great place for a roast... Plates piled high with plenty of gravy and roasties. Cycled here one afternoon from stoke on the canal. Had the carvery sandwich, just enough to avoid a stitch on the way home. Very reasonably priced drinks and even managed to repair my ailing inner tube in the beer garden.
M. E.
Food / service and restaurant was excellent 👍
J. B.
Very friendly atmosphere from both staff and guests. Table arrangements keep families with young children and people who might like a quieter meal separate without restricting access to the carvery, which is always excellent with a good range of meats and veg that'd be very difficult to manage cooking at home.
N. P.
Breakfast what's not to like about the Toby breakfast .
K. R.
Good pub food. Average prices, breakfast is lovely help yourself to as much as you want for a great price, always hot and fresh.
Been here a few times for group parties, never had a problem.
S. D.
Very nice calvery meal. Staff very friendly and helpful. Social distancing good.
J. P.
Used to always go to the China Garden but this is definitely our new favourite Toby Carvery! Staff are lovely and the service is great. Amazing food as always!
D. M.
Always good, clean and friendly with well kept ales and decent range of wines for a chain. Plenty of parking and wheelchair friendly. Enjoy....
g.
Really good carvery and they have lamb, which is my favorite.
S. C.
Breakfast was beautiful here, self serve is back on. Plenty of space, great food.
d.
Most of the carvery was only like warm and the roasts were dry.
N. J.
Real never liked this place but have nice beer
D. S.
As a carvery, it serves the purpose well with the food being turned over very quickly as all carvery's should. The meat was not quite up to scratch on our visit especially the beef as it was all bits and no slices. Vegetarian and vegan options were there to give a good selection if your party is varied. Vegetables were well good and good selection. The yourshire puddings were large which fills the plate. A little on the dry and crispy side too. Would I recommend ? Yes, this is one of the better carvery's I've been to but like all carvery's it can not always be the best of meals on some of your visits as the large turnover of foods can lead to inconsistent standard of food, especially if you are getting to the end of a joint of meat that should be replaced but is still served.
G. W.
Food is always delish
K. F.
Been going to Toby carvery for a good few years now, food has always been very good and still is.the problem with this place is Friday after work as turned into a circus of children running riot, and blokes shouting from one side of the pub to the other. Nothing wrong with going for a drink after work, done it my self. But the bad language is inexcusable in a family pub,no one ever seems to be in charge or a bar manager in sight. Toby seem to be happy to let the tills ring and say nothing, we are not the only ones to comment on this, not a pleasant place to visit, it's a shame because the food is nice and so are the staff.we used to see a lot of regular people but now we don't.wonder why.....
N. B. D.
Great food really good value with excellent service
Z. G.
Great breakfast and staff would happily go again
M. K.
Twice in one day
breakfast and returned for a roast, friendly and efficient service 👍
R. F.
We got greated by Liam, unfortunately for us there wasnt a table free. But.... he was very positive, and assured us he could accommodate us ASAP. BRILLIANT front of house service 👏 👌 👍
P. H.
Special Mention toTracy & Christine @ Trentham carvery Their dedication to customer service is Excellent Use the venue every week we are very grateful to all the staff and special mention to the chefs who work really hard to maintain the very high standards we always have excellent service with fresh cooked food no matter your preferences carvery salads and the selection of sweets especially the Apple. & Treacle pudding with custards are a must. The staff aways accommodate our requests for seating as this varies week to week based upon numbers attending A massive thank you to All for their commitment to service. Paul Jean LLB
M. C.
Food n service was great
R. R.
Always really nice quiet and clean environment. Breakfast items regularly topped up. Could do with always having the two toasters out but I'm sure it's been said before.
s. w.
Very welcoming, service with a smile. Didn't have to wait. Carvery was superb, super sized Yorkshire puddings highly recommended.
M. C.
Excellent choice of meats & vegetable's... Usually have a refillable soda drink, but on this occasion asked for water, which wasn't a problem at all.Usually can get a table without booking, but I would recommend booking in advance, even if you phone on your way there....
H. B.
Great breakfast yesterday, well cooked, well stocked, even fried eggs aplenty which is not always the case at some Tobys, along with the gravy available. Excellent visit.
a. l.
A good, well priced meal/carvery that can be enjoyed in a decent pub. The pub is huge too so you don't always have to sit on a stranger's knee. Staff are reasonably friendly and there's enough of them on hand at any given time. A step above most Toby Carverys.
A. R.
Loved it!! Fantastic meal....book in advance advised 😀
T. W.
Very nice. More people needed on the carvery to prevent queues, but overall decent service and quality food.
J. S.
Good food, good prices. Decor a bit tired. Would recommend
l. r.
Great breakfast again, pity they don't have one nearer to me over the cheadle area. Great service and lovely and fresh. Good job guys.
K. M.
Beautiful food and good service
S. C.
Ever been to a carvery where they ran out of meat! No lamb or beef left ( it was only 7pm) so ended up with luke-warm turkey. Not the best carvery we've had.
R. S.
A better quality and offering in comparison to the majority of Toby Carvery!
Breakfast is much better than lunch and dinner. Although refreshing food seems to be a standard issues in most of these venues
L. &. P. R.
Really welcoming staff, great service and lovely tasting food. Good options for vegans.
D. D.
Breakfast buffet OK sausages a little under cooked. Would have liked orange juice included. Boiling hot room, no air con on. Many people complaining.
S. R.
Lovely food as always but not a lot of meat this time.
M. A.
I read previous negative reviews but thought give it ago. The building from the outside did not look good but the decor inside was nice. We had a little wait for seating then drinks but no real issue. The food was lovely on the day meats tender and vegetable al dente for this I will give 5 stars.
H. S.
The food was a little cold and the meat was dry, the place was pretty empty
A. G. U.
Iam not a big carvery type, but the Mrs insisted after a week in Greece, think that bit of beef was the best I've ever had....£33 for 4 of us including drinks, v good
A. W.
Breakfast here can be either good or average bacon tends to be salty and overcooked and the sausages are cooked only on one side i prefer mine cooked all over scrambled egg does not have much flavour and the plates are always too hot to pick up without a tissue paper
D. L.
Staff were very polite and helpful, very tidy and the food was amazing.
G. W.
Very good carvery for the money. Staff very polite.
j. s.
Massive portions at a low price. We went with a large family group and had to sit in the bar area, but staff were accommodating and we were all fed. Would come again.
S. W.
Long que for dinner. Small portions of meat. Staff were lovely and helpfull.
A. H.
First class service given by the staff
d. 1.
Use for carvery. (Good) but more for breakfasts need to reinstate hash browns daughter is a vegetarian so can't have bubble n squeak obviously sausage or bacon can't see the point of having Yorkshire pudding with breakfast or breakfast gravy hash browns are a big miss lots of people commented on not having them!
J. W.
Went on new years day, food was perfect but our waitress was exceptional her name was Emma, she was amazing with my grandson and she really made our stay perfect, she is a real asset to your business, thankyou for a memorable lunch, good memories xxx
C. J.
Very nice food. Staff are lovely. had the carvery and there was a lot of choice. Yorkie puds are home made and very nice. bottle of wine on a a wednesday is £10. xx
L. B.
Great place for a breakfast
C. B.
Food ok ,pedigree beer not to good but staff very good
B. M.
Fair service fair price and recommended
J. “.
Perfectly cooked meats moist and tasty. Plenty of choice of vegetables and potatoes.
J. E.
Friendly staff lovely hot breakfast really enjoyed it will go again
J. G.
Carvery very nice, restaurant and bar area, big comfortable pub.
e. b.
Fantastic Fantastic Fantastic, as always, best value meals that are second to non.
J. H.
Meat badly cut and very thin slices. The food lamps are that hot you cannot use the utensils because they are also hot. The food turnover doesn't warrant that heat. My husband had a sandwich which was a very low grade to what they used to serve
L. J.
Rather disappointed with the new main menu. It's either the carvery or sandwiches.
m. 2.
There's a Travelodge sort of hotel tacked onto this place which I stayed in - nice and clean. A Toby carvery. It's Ok. Well run and the Waitress that served us was very nice. As far as food goes, ok too. Well, it's a chain
innit? Having said all that I'd certainly stay/eat there again.
Perfect for the traveller, being situated just off the M6 but don't take the wife or more importantly, your girlfriend either for that matter if you wish to impress, after all is said and done, it's a Toby but it does what it says on the tin, and does it rather well.
P. E.
Nearly always great food sometime some items have gone dry with the heat, always quick to be seated even if their full. Great all round place to eat and relax I would recommend it.
S. P.
Great friendly staff, they could put more meat on the plates even the king size plate didn't really have enough. Food was good
c. m.
Not been here since before lockdown, can honestly say everything was spot on from the moment you stepped in through the door, well done to all the staff you are doing a fantastic job xxx
S. B.
Was excellent as usual
C. B.
Food was delicious and staff were helpful.
m. k.
Decent food at realistic prices ..served on plates not the piece of slate and double the price nonsense of other "trendy" eateries
B. C.
I have visited this place many times. I am a fan of Toby carveries. It's everything you expect from a Toby. Staff and waitress service are friendly and efficient as always. Food is plentiful and good value. It gets very busy on a Sunday so …
l. r.
Great breakfast again, pity they don't have one nearer to me over the cheadle area. Great service and lovely and fresh. Good job guys.
G. P.
Nice and easy for a couple of hours
t. p.
Great food and helpful service
G. P.
Requires better management.
M. A.
Really good carvery thanks for the help too
M. A.
Good food, nice drinks friendly staff and plenty of parking, what else could you want, what, you want a Yorkshire pudding with your breakfast well here you can, if you want....
A. S.
I enjoyed our meal, staff were really nice. I did have to get my carvery microwaved though, but nice when it was hot.
J. F.
Just been to the Toby carvery for Christmas 🎄 lunch at £50 per head it was ok the neat was nice but the vegetables were Luke warm didn't feel much like Christmas just like a Sunday at 5 times the price try somwere else next year I'm afraid
P. L.
Interior needs freshening up , ripped wallpaper , dull atmosphere . Staff were extremely rude and unfriendly , especially the old woman at the bar with lipstick all round her mouth . I don’t live round the area but just came here to have breakfast after my hotel stay and it wasn’t good service at all
J. O.
Food to usual carvery standard, but could not understand twenty minute wait for table when there was a obvious abundance of free tables. (Maybe a ploy to sell more drink!!)
R. H.
Decent enough pub but could do with replacing the benches in the beer garden.
A. W.
Buffet breakfast that was overcooked but not that hot.
R. G.
Lunchtime visit in pre Christmas week. Very busy but we had booked table. Plenty of food all well cooked and presented and reasonably priced. We'll be visiting again
T. G.
Nice food, not spectacular, but eddible, thought it a bit expensive, but then we only go to carvery on special occasions.
C. K.
Went for breakfast... no restriction of how much or how little you put on your plate... have as many slices of toast as you want.. refillable coffee or tea... good price too....
a.
The carvery was excellent, the atmosphere was a tad bland and the starters need some work. However, it was above expectations and I would go again happily, this time simply for the carvery :)
A. B. P.
Great service .. Great tasty carvery .. can book online but we did a walk in and got seated immediately on a Sunday Evening .. witnessed a young member of staff being harassed by a miserable holier than thou complaining woman .. the young lady coped really admirably A1 .. FYI.. if you are reading this and you only go out to complain .. my advice would be ... do other guests a favour and stay at home 😁👍
D. G.
Lovely place.clean with great measures in place re Covid. food was tasty and the service was great.very clean toilets.would definitely go back again
J. E.
Had carvery here today beautiful food ,excellent service excellent social distancing plenty handzaniter ,staff so pleasant worked hard , thank you julie hanford ,x
T. P.
Makes a nice change get a good carvery these days everything is cooked really well I use this place regularly and highly recommended it
L. C.
Excellent carvery.. Excellent customer service.. Highly recommended
S. F.
I had an absolutely fabulous meal here I had turkey and pork carvery couldn't fault none of it although my wife had beef and turkey carvery the turkey was excellent but the beef was all fat and the red cabbage was just stalk uncooked and rock hard this is why only 4 stars but it want put us off going back
T. P.
Lovely breakfast. As much or little as you want with every breakfast item available
R. S.
Nice friendly staff and food was great not been in a long time as had not so nice meal but tryed it again and big improvement
J. F.
Food was lovely . Very friendly staff . Good value for money . Will be going again .
A. W.
I go here regular with my mum and we always have a lovely meal with lovely friendly staff servings us great food. Can't beat it.
n. b.
Food and service impeccable as usual .
A. A.
Already done this one, but staff are great also food and deserts, we go midweek as it 's too busy on weekends. Talke Carvery is also great except for cold plates.
R. B.
Great food and location, has on occasion some decent guest beers on. Waiting time when busy is usually only around 30 minutes. Certainly with a visit.
m. k.
Decent food at realistic prices ..served on plates not the piece of slate and double the price nonsense of other "trendy" eateries
S. S.
Great food, great carvery. The beer is just a bit limited. But still a good place to go and child friendly
R. H.
Toby's Covid Policy is working very well, I must say... Sunday dinner was lovely. Thank you all for your efforts!
N. R.
Good carvery. Very well priced.
A. B.
Nice atmosphere and great staff but what a shame company policy dictates the servers can't throw a sausage on a kid's meal!!!!!
Come on guys with £40 plus bill, including drinks, and you can't give a child a sausage?????
M. T.
Food was superb the 45 min wait on a Saturday afternoon to be offered pudding was a little annoying. But staff were very nice and helpfull when they did serve us.
S. E.
Delicious food and nice staff
J. M.
Food was amazing and the atmosphere was great, would've given five stars but parking was a nightmare, I had to circle a couple of to get a space,
Staff were friendly and helpful even at the busy times
A. E.
Food was spot on the mark; there was a wide variety of vegetables cooked to perfection, the food was topped up and hot, the overall service was great and feel none of the negative reviews are reflective of my experience.
c. w.
Had a lovely carvery here ...lovely food and staff xxx
L. C.
Doesn't maintain a constant standard of food sometimes it's great and others the food including the meat is dry as stood for a long time or had been reheated
J. W.
Great place for breakfast but these places are the same as every other Toby and nothing really changes but you can eat as much or as little as you like.
J.
Went there with my daughter on saturday night on way home from Alton Towers food was great good value and all staff seemed really friendly couldnt have asked for more really
L. P.
I love Toby Carvery. Good value for money, plenty on your plate and proper veg, not frozen rubbish like so many carveries.

Don't think they were expecting it to be so busy on a snowy Sunday morning as they kept running out of stuff. But the staff were working hard to refill and it's fantastic value

This used to be my favourite Toby, but lately standards have slipped. Half the veg isnt out, and what is tastes slightly old and overdone. Bring back the delicious days of old!

Nice food although abit cold, not as organised with the covid rules as other places a little confusing

Good food in a pleasant environment. Try and get a table near a window as it can be a little dark in places, but it's a decent carvery and the staff are really nice!

nothing all great thank you

Not as good as it used to be, the meals are cheap though but of course this attracts its own problems.. We had children running around us like it was a creche, not the establishments fault of course but not a relaxing place to go.

Best meal with vegetables in the five countries we visited France, Scotland, Wales and England. Australian travellers with English, Irish and Wales historical Connections

This is my go to carvery. Not too squashed together like some others and always fresh and replenished veg with normally four roasts to choose from and amazing yorkies
