Decor is cheap and cheerful, food is simple. Very few vegetarian options. My burger came in a green bun. Not a fan of the colour. And they had no guacamole or hummus. Still, the food was tasty enough and it's not expensive. Draught Greene King beer is a plus.

A regular Hungry Horse 🐎. You can just walk in and sit anywhere you want that isn't reserved, and when you have read the menu, that has very reasonable cheap prices, you can just go up to the bar and order. Our drinks came in under a minute. I don't really like fizzy drinks, but I loved the origina! After 7 minutes, the food arrived. I'm being very nit-picky here, but the napkins had wet cutlery making all of the napkins wet. Also, there was a few peas, when I didn't order any - but who doesn't love free food! The fries were quality fries, and the chicken was lovely, despite it being quite hot. The Smoky Chipotle Buffalo sauce was lovely aswell.

Lovely little hotel with some of the friendliest staff around, both me and my mum stayed for a trip to Alton Towers, this place is the perfect base and I will absolutely be back in the future. Positives: Great Location, Clean Rooms, Awesome Breakfast, Friendly Staff, Comfy Beds and it is next to a Tesco and McDonald’s. Negatives: Dated Rooms…however for the price you are paying perfectly acceptable. No Lift - so if your booking as a disabled or infirm person in anyway Be sure to let the hotel know so they can accommodate you. Finally to end on a positive the hotel was kind enough to charge my mobility scooter overnight which was an absolute lifesaver the following day! Thank You!

My family had a pleasant stay at the Weathervane while attending a nearby wedding ceremony. Some of the desk top furniture in the room is worn but this could have been avoided if toughened glass had been placed on top to protect the surfaces. Apart from this the room was lovely and clean and everyone had a good night's sleep. Breakfast was enjoyable. staff were always friendly and helpful despite being very busy. I would have no hesitation in staying here again.

Update went for Breakfast 2022 Feb Service was great . Friendly staff. Good prices. Massive breakfast. Young lady was very helpful with coffees and went the extra mile . Yes very reasonable prices . Service is now at the bar instead of the app. Thank goodness. Need a bit of TLC as some of the seats were ripped or worn out. Yes definitely got back. Some of the cars in the car park need to realise they don’t need to take two spaces . 4 stars ⭐️ year ago review 2021 .You get what you pay for. Cheap and cheerful. Hard to get use to the app to order drinks and food but when you get use to its fine . Took me 20 minutes first time and no one came to help . Need patience. Food ok. Good idea with the television to entertain children but can also be an distraction. Not all tables have TV booths . Menu for children great . Some great offers on different days. Big car park. Been for breakfasts . Not bad at all for prices . Need to book .3 stars

We stayed here the night as we'd been given a voucher as a gift The room was clean, well equipped and comfortable although a little too warm. We had an evening meal which was tasty and a very good price. Breakfast was very good too and the service throughout could not be faulted.

Visited on Monday 9 May. We ordered three Steak Sizzlers which were excellent . As an bonus it was 'Steak Monday' and so the the price was reduced. I have used the place before and you get great quality and quantity, but this steak was amazing value. Thanks to Jess M for doing a great job.

2021. Very covid aware. Using the app to order was not easy to use for the first time. Think it was us, not the app. Went last week. Meals were £5.00 each. Cant go wrong. Updated 14 Feb 22. Solid breakfast and bargin price. Can't go wrong. March 22. Went for lunch. Polite staff and another excellent meal. Sunday lunch burger was absolutely delicious with a wide range of flavours and tastes. Well recommended. Nice to have roast potatoes instead of chips. Yummy gravy. Hunters chicken didn't disappoint either. Will definitely go back. Service was also quick considering it was busy.

I felt very welcome at the Weathervane after my bike ride from Hucknall in Nottinghamshire. The food is amazing and service is excellent, the mini mix grill just what I needed.

Had breakfast here today. Breakfast burritos, yum. They were very tasty and washed down with latte, excellent. However, on this occasion breakfast was stone cold. We ate it because we were hungry. I told the waitress when she came to clear the table and we were ready to leave. She was a breathe of fresh air, so apologetic. We were give complimentary drinks by way of an apology. I eat here often and it's unusual to have a problem with the food which Is why I gave 5 stars in this review. Excellent customer service, thank you.

Stayed there of one night. The room was nice clean, wallpaper could do with an update but no big deal. In the restaurant, I used the app to order food and drinks. The app was easy to use and all products had there prices on. Good range of drinks & food. I highly recommend the breakfast in bread. Was very filling and would have it again!

Rooms a little dated, but extremely clean. Lovely white bed linen and towels. The staff are absolutely wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble. Even made us a coffee for our journey back home. We highly recommend this place. Ideal for Alton Towers visit. Thank you!

Checked in tonight. Really friendly member of staff came from the bar area to welcome up & give us our room key. Realised when we got into the room the sofa bed wasn't made up for our 4 year old. Popped downstairs and Jess.M was more than happy to collect the relevant bedding & make the bed up. She was really cheery, asking us about our trip & engaging with our young children. She also told us about the app and how we could order from our room. So impressed so far with staff attitude, friendliness and detail of care given to customer satisfaction. Friendly enough but the food can be very hit and miss. I have no idea how they now cook the beef burgers but they are no longer nice. The patties come out looking pale and dried up. It's ashame because they use of to be nice. I had the ranch chicken burger and it was really good yesterday.

Bathroom sink blocked , made room really smell musty, and room furniture left a lot to be desired, bed old and furniture needs an upgrade lack of varnish and general upkeep poor. However the attached restaurant,although plain,was extremely well staffed , particularly by Beth and Victoria and the food was very good and reasonably priced.

Well, what can I say? Went in, not expecting Michelin star food, and got exactly that! Went for the mixed grill, can't complain! Was good, kids loved there's, as did the wife. Bonus being, used my Tesco Cluncard vouchers so every 50p was worth £1.50 towards food so an absolute steal! Cheap, clean and convenient!

Wonderful staff who are always happy and polite Terri, Brett, Michelle, Jess and Bailey are the most familiar faces and always seem to be working 😁 food is excellent value for money and dont think Ive ever had to have a moan about anything. Great place for stopping while travelling down the M9. Only thing that let it down was how slow the service was in the restaurant with us waiting 20 mins for our initial drinks and nearly an hour for the food. Wasn't great after driving for 5 1/2 hours with a hungry 3 year old

Hi all I had a nice two night stay here on my first 6 consecutive days of holiday off work since this last Sunday all thankfully, and I ended up trying too recover from a horrible throat virus, commom cold /. Flu which I think I now do need antibiotics to try and clear it, me up now unfortunately!! My stay from Tuesday evening at the weathervane Hotel meir Stoke, has been very nice, and I had an evening meal having the salmon, baked potato and side salad, which was cooked beautifully, and well worth the 15/16pds cost of this evening meal all here, Very good service by lovely, very friendly staff,/. Folk here in lovely blythe Bridge, meir, in Stoke all!! My bedroom double was well serviced and kept with very helpful chambermaid staff, who are very friendly and helpful all here!! Alton towers site is only 8miles away from here, and an adult ticket now costs 45pds for a full day pass now - - 25 March 22. On a Wednesday evening, the pub restaurant area here, hosts a pub quiz night for all too take part in all here! The bedroom window frames need replacing now, as they are old and need replacing with new decent quality plastic ones now all !! I would definitely recommend this site/hotel too stay here all!! Approximately cost per night here on booking. Com costs 81pds a night all, book directly with the hotel all, I got a third night stay for 67pds for a night here all - - brilliant value and price all here!! N. Hayward Glos

Children were happy enough with it but it felt like we had to wait ages and I was really REALLY surprised that my deli pasta dish served with rocket was cold! Except it wasn't. They had obviously put cold pasta (not advertised as either cold or hot unfortunately or I would have said something) on a hot plate making it like warm and the rocket salad was wilted and stringy. The salmon on the other hand was cooked to perfection and redeemed the whole dish. The children enjoyed theirs and the whole thing was reasonably priced.

As a vegetarian the choice is limited. I was Disappointed to discover the toast is now NO longer buttered when served beans on toast or egg on toast, Now the customer has to ask for the toast to be buttered. I find it strange that butter was offered when we asked but not sure how we were supposed to use the butter once the beans had been served on the dry thick toast. The explanation given was, It is because of customers allergies to butter. I believe those who are intolerant to dairy are in the minority and are quite used to verbally making this known when eating out, but Is this more about cost cutting?

Despite living in Market Drayton I travel here most weeks. (Usually Friday night) I enjoy the fact the place is always welcoming and seems to have a great atmosphere with staff that seem to enjoy their work and are always friendly. In all the time we have been coming here we have found the food to be spot on every time. It's always served quick and the place just ticks the boxes in all departments. Especially for quality food at a good price. It's pretty much top of our list even if we do have to take ourselves 15-20 miles off route!

I have been here many times for over seven years and it has changed a lot. Before it was revamped I liked it better however got to go with the new though I miss my booth. I love the food and never had a problem. The staff are fine especially bar though I would like less waiting staff checking on the table throughout the meal and if it's busy open up extra seating area. it's a great place for children too inside and outside of the pub

They're renovating the outside area, not sure if a play ground will still be there but I expect it will as it's a family pub. It's a good night out

The room was great. The food however was another matter. They had run out of most stuff to order not one style of burger no chicken nuggets for the kids, ordered gammon steak it was dried up. Then breakfast in the morning was something else, sausage was old and reheated you can tell, scrambled egg not whisked properly,still had full egg yolks in, beans and bacon was nice. Wont be going to eat there again, although I would stop in the room.

I suppose it was a one off, but what spoiled our night was a family coming in at nearly 2 in the morning making a hell of a noise in the rooms above us. We have stayed at the hotel a few times as we've got family up there. Staff are always smiling and happy to help. But we noticed this time in the room we had. There was some repairs that needed doing in room 39, toilet roll holder just hanging on the wall, plastic boarder coming away behind the door. And the shower taps needed a really good clean, toilet seat wobbly too. Other than that everything was fine, it was just this time I noticed things needed fixing. I know we've had covid, and places have been shut, but I think things need to be reported when cleaned, and fixed before being used again. We will come back again, as we've always enjoyed our stays here. Sorry for the 3 star's, but in the past I've always said this place is a 5 star. We'll be back next year 👍👍👍

Hotel was great. Stayed there a few times in the last couple of years. It's easy to get to Alton towers from the hotel. Only thing I would say is we were in a family room & the sofa bed was really uncomfortable, hardly any mattress on it

We stayed for 1 night so we could go to the Monkey forest 15 mins away. Room was really clean, only complaint was the bath being a little bit unclean but apart from that it was great, beds were super comfy. We had dinner and breakfast downstairs, and we were served by a lovely lady (I think her name was Becka). She was polite, helpful and fast with her service!

Great place. Its much better than it used to be. It's used to always be so dirty, food on the floor and tables always weird stains. The only things that could be improved is better tvs at the TV tables. The TVs never work or you can't change the channel and its always on a rubbish channel. Kids running around and parents not doing anything. I know it's the parents fault not stopping them but one day they might run into a waiter. The park seems a bit dodgy, anyone can come up from outside the pub and grab a kid. I think there should be staff guarding it or put a sign up saying parents must supervise kids or something. Food needs to be delivered quicker, sometimes it can take a good hour for food to get to the table. Also I know the place is much cleaner but they should definitely keep up with cleaning the tables and sweeping the floor. Great place though.

The staff were excellent, well trained, friendly and helpful. The property itself is very tired though - decor, furniture etc. The walls and floors are very thin so the room was noisy. Breakfast was just ok, but again, the front of house staff were brilliant.

All tables had scan for test and trace. Fish and chips Beautiful meal,promptly served. However,we asked for a cup of tea to be served with the meal,unfortunately it did not arrive and staff never came near us to remind them. We were sat in a corner which was nice and cool. We had to leave our seat to remind them, Again we finished our meal no staff came around and I could not catch their eye as they never looked our way.again left our table to ask for our dessert order to be taken. If you are put in a corner,which was fine.please look over and come near even if you dont ask please. Apart from that the meal and seat were fine. Staff were fine when we did communicate with them . Disappointed !! This was a treat for me for helping a friend.🤔😕

Easy location to Alton towers it served as good pit stop. Room was tidy and clean. Receptionist seemed a bit overworked multi tasking greeting guests/ paperwork and other jobs, so dealing with us all seemed a bit rushed but not rude. Parking was not a issue. Walls were a bit thin hotel had a cider smell throughout the corridors because of the pub its apart of I presume.

Stayed here for 1 night as part of aVirgin experience days voucher. All staff encountered were very friendly and helpful despite being very busy especially at breakfast time. Room was mostly very disappointing and needs a bit of TLC. Windows were wooden and had large gaps causing a draft and also letting all the noises from outside in. Furniture was dated and very worn and most things in the room look like they needed replacing. The worst thing for us was the bed, the mattress was very lumpy and worn and badly needs replacing. We both had very minimal sleep and were aching in the morning. An Earing and hairband were found on the carpet which makes me doubt if it had been hoovered since the last occupants left. On a plus note the shower was excellent and gave a powerful warm shower. It's a shame that this review is mainly negative and I do feel sorry for the staff as they can only do so much.

Just had a delicious meal in clean, calm surroundings! Staff were friendly and well informed not only on the menu and drinks, but explained Covid protocols clearly and concisely. The prices are amazingly low considering the quality of the food, the mixed grill in particular was fabulous. As previously mentioned, everything was spotlessly clean which was reassuring and everything well signposted. Plenty of hand sanitizer stations around as well. Will definitely be back, I was a regular before Covid and I see no reason to change that now 👍

Stayed here with my son as it was a great location 15mins from Alton Towers. Can not fault it. Staff fantastic and helpful, room was spotless and smelt fresh and proper powerful showers. Been tonight ordered the crispy chicken sandwich looked great said it came with red onion I thought would be uncooked. What u got was soggy wet onions on garlic Ciabatta that was under cooked with salad on thats not mentioned on the menu it was just one soggy mess not pleasant to eat.

Been going here for years, never let me down. Good food in good portions. Play area for the kids outside and at your table you can grab a play box with a few bits of Lego etc to keep them happy while you eat. Went for a meal here today for a post Christmas meal with friends and found the pub to be quite cold. Unless that was our fault since our table was on the main through fair, and they do seem to get alot of trade! We used the app to order drinks and meals, since you get 10% off with your first order. The food came reasonably quickly, not quick enough for my friends 1 yr old! But the food was hot, but my gammon tasted alittle funny, but that could just be the oil that it came swimming in, but a cleared my plate so it couldn't have been that bad. The staff seemed hassled and running around everywhere, we did ask for some crayons for my friend 5 yr old, but they didn't appear until one of our party sorted some out. Would perhaps try again, but on a different day.

Hungry Horse places can be hit and miss, but this is one of the better one's. However a family room sleeping 2 adults and 2 children I don't think its big enough a pull out sofa bed acts as the extra.The attached restaurant is a waste of time. The day we went we waited for to long as you order your food at the bar with everyone else those who only want drinks. Pain in the back side with 2 young children. Then you find out they have run out of jacket potatoes of all things. We went over the road to McDonalds. We would re-book if our first choice hotel was full again.

Food tasted processed, or better still bought from asda, but considering it was packed and the bar guy took an order from a, so called drinks only order bar, we got our meal. Staff were very nice and friendly, accommodating. Really like it here, but won't be ordering the chicken again. Prices are moderate. And an all rounder menu for anytime in the day meal, brunch ect. Again would highly recommend this pub, restaurant. Modern up to date. Oh ps, way to many tables reserved when paying customers are in the door, that wasn't cool. Lucky got a table really, but where we were, there should not have been any tables. Excellent.

This is a typical chain pub. Not bad hair for money with it being s hungry horse but food quality can be hit and miss. They have now introduced an app that you can order food and drinks through your phone. I personally much prefer this option as I'm visually impaired and can struggle moving around a busy pub. Plus I've found the bar service much quicker ordering through the app. My only gripe with this place is that people constantly hasn't outside the front doors smoking. It's not nice walking through several people puffing away on their cancer sticks. The pub needs to encourage them to smoke further away.

Two of us went for lunch Sunday 26th Aug. The venue was clean and tidy. The food was served within 20 mins and arrived piping hot. The young lady serving us was very pleasant and chatted with us. She came back after ten minutes, to make sure everything was ok with the meal. We couldn't fault the meal. Our only problem was with the a group of children who were allowed to do make as much noise as they wanted. Others without children were unhappy about the noise as well. We then got a couple arrive about twenty, who decided to listening to something on the phone via the loud speaker. I ended up getting a migraine. Why can't people consider others when eating out. Food usual pub fayre - burgers, chicken, scampi ... with chips. Two choices of table area. "Family friendly" ... over run with kids (which is fair enough) or the "bar" full of locals with the TV on mega-loud to drown out noise from said kids. Not a pleasant experience & totally detracted from the hotel.

You could not have have asked for anything more, the staff were so accommodating and the childrens games and crafts were great. We find it very difficult to find a good restaurant that provides outstanding service and good food and where children are welcome and accomodated but the Weathervane meets all these expectations. One critisism I do have, as a disabled person is having to step into a bath to have a shower. I found this quite difficult and had trouble maintaining my balance. Using the bath is not possible due to my disability. A wet room would be more appropriate as it was the disabled persons room that we stayed in. Apart from that, we would happily recommend this hotel as a place to stay.

Ate here as it's attached to the Best Western Stoke East hotel. The Weathervane is now a Hungry Horse so you generally get large portions of decent food at good prices. Loads of things to help keep the kids occupied as well.

Regularly use this Pub for family meetups... Just off the A50 in Mier. Can't fault it... lovely hot food, good portions, great service. Easily and swiftly booked a table online. Got there, waited to be seated, no-one approached us, so walked to the bar, said we'd booked, the table reserved for us had diners in ( they were told they had to move because it was reserved, when we got there, they left a mess, so had to wait for it to be cleaned before we could sit at a "Garden Pea peppered and torn vinyl seating"). Ordered at the bar, excellent service, HOT food with a smile. Quadzilla Burger is to die for, so tasty, so juicy, so filling.
