12 of us went for a Christmas menu. Tasty food, good service and all had a lovely time. Staff are great and friendly, especially the manager who is always very helpful. We stayed for the quiz, lovely atmosphere there.

Lovely pub! Always enjoyed the food and the space. Its definitely more of a eating and meeting pub rather than regulars and overcrowded which I enjoy. Easy to park and get to and standar with prices. Often visit around 6-8 times a year 😊👍🏼

Nice pint, lovely beer garden, great in the sun, but also shaded area. Had grazing menu...crispy jumbo prawns, dirty chips (topped with melted cheese and bacon), brie bites, bbq chicken wings, buttermilk chicken goujons for £20 added some cheesy garlic bread. Between 2 of us, we were stuffed. Haven't been in years but will definitely return.

We visited as a large party. In advance, we reserved the function room upstairs for 23 people. The communication with the booking was perfect - I believe the lady we booked through was Genna On the evening we visited, we had a variety of starters, main meals and desserts which were pre-ordered. Most of the food was nice/as expected and was presented well. Most of the 23, in our party, enjoyed their meals. However, we ordered steak for a few of the party and the way they were cooked, was dreadful. When we addressed this with the staff, these meals were taken off our bill without any fuss though. Also, 1 mini dessert was ordered but when it came out it looked like crumbled cake so we asked for that to be changed - the slice of cake that was given instead was then served as it should of been; which we were thankful for. Overall, the food was hit and miss, the booking was spot on and the staff were pleasant, therefore we'd possibly go back but would order from the menu carefully.

What a great find walking distance from the Travel Lodge. Staff was friendly and handled the social distancing during covid-19 really well. Food was much way better than expected from other reviews and there were pleanty of choices to my vegetarian partner! Highly recommended!

Had such a wonderful time last night at the Old Inn for their weekly quiz! It was thriving with business as normal and was full of happy faces from both the customers and staff. Jenna was fab doing the quiz, which added to the warm, welcoming and communal atmosphere. What a great night out!

So chuffed this pub is our local , always a fab welcome from the team! Dog friendly which is great for popping in for a pint after walkies. Visited with my cousin and mother, my cousin had travelled down from Liverpool and this was the 1st time for well over a year since we've seen them in person. The service was warm and friendly and the food was both hot and tasty with some good offers such as 2 courses for 10 pounds. We were advised that due to a lot of bookings service might be a little slow but I thought it was reasonable and the heads up when we got when being seated meant we knew what to expect. The drinks where good and delivered to the table by a friendly barman. The manager came to the table and asked if all okay and chatted for a few minutes. We where thoroughly pleased with everything and shall return soon being very local to us.

I last visited the Old Inn before the pandemic and this visit was rather disappointing. There weren't many customers and the atmosphere was quiet and flat. The staff, as always, were friendly and welcoming however, that didn't make up for the lack of atmosphere. I won't rush back which is a shame.

1st time calling here for food, what a lovely little pub with excellent food. Definitely won't be the last visit for me.

We arrived and were shown to our table by a pleasent lady. We ordered wine and a starter each. My wife's soup arrived and we had to ask for a spoon, this was brought to the table with a paper napkin, we then had to ask for a knife to butter the bread. My wife said that the soup was not very hot and the sliced bread had been left out in the air and was quite stale. My wife did not complain as she hates conflict and gets embarrassed. My starter arrived which was the cockles and lava bread on toast. The cockles and lava bread had been placed on top of a piece of bread. I took this to the waitress who was sitting at the side of the bar and showed her the starter. The bread was not even lightly toasted, it was just a slice of bread. The waitress apologised and said she would get it changed. 10 minutes later my starter arrived, but my wife had finished her starter by then so we ate alone. This was a celebratory meal and were so dissatisfied with the starter, obviously prepared by a lazy cook who could not be bothered, and it was not as if the pub was busy with only 4 or 5 other tables in, tha we decided not to risk having the main meal. We paid the bill and left very disappointed and dissatisfied. I have since this occasion returned 27 April 22 and the food and service was excellent. Well done and I will certainly be back.

The Old Inn seems to have gone downhill since our last visit. We ordered a sirloin each but it was nowhere near as nice as our last visit. There was a musty smell and there seemed to be problems with electrics in the toilets area. There was also a smell coming from the drains as you entered the premises. We think the central heating would make a big difference.

I've been going to this pub for years but th atmosphere hasn't changed, nice friendly bar and staff. Good food, lunch isn't much (sandwiches not recommended) nice outside sitting area with big carpark outback and lots of room outside to park. Lots of cosy areas to sit inside and out with a child friendly pay area. Good place for a party. Nice and clean big toilets

Sadly, this used to be one of my favourite places to eat pre covid as I loved the brains brand and the menu with it. Since the unfortunate buy out during covid brains menu now has been downgraded to ok food but nothing you really want to go back for. Went as a group of 4 and I can't fault the staff or how we treated because the staff are brilliant but unfortunately the menu let the experience down massively for me because I know what it was like pre Marstons. I went back to support the brains brand because I knew the struggles they faced but unfortunately will only be returning for the beer and not the food.

We booked a table on Monday evening on their reopening. We took advantage of the half price food incentive and had a delicious starter, main course and desert. The app was great and the service was prompt. Well organised when we arrived and we were promptly shown to our table. A one way system was in place and it was busy but very well spaced out. Great place for families as a stop off on a journey! We had lunch on a rainy bank holiday Monday, delicious beef pie and chicken, ham and leek pie. Service was friendly, prompt and brilliantly accommodating of our baby. There was a high chair and baby change facilities on the ground floor. The pub was nicely decorated and not too crowded. We'll definitely come again!

Comments about a visit a couple of years ago but was left in draft and not published until today: Arrived to find friendly staff and food was being served til 9.30pm. I arrived at 8pm. Was told there could be an hours wait as there was a function on. I decided to order and wait as I wasn't in any rush. Picked two courses for under a tenner from the evening menu. The appetizer, garlic mushrooms arrived after about 10 mins followed by the and egg after another 15mins. So great service, the food was great...nice slab of gammon and the option to have poached instead of fried eggs was eagerly accepted. Would definitely go again.

Meal was nice service was okay unfortunately we weren't offered dessert when our dinner plates were cleared away had to hunt down a waitress to request our bill. Maybe it was where were seated as the group of loud, giggling females sitting behind us managed to get good service possibly due to the fact they knew one of the the waitresses. We have eaten here several times previously and have found the service to be good but tonight we were extremely disappointed.

I went here for a wake. There was a small buffet which was perfect, except I'm one of those fussy people that doesn't like butter. I asked the manager who was more than happy to accommodate me with amazing freshly cooked ham sandwiches. I cannot fault how quick and pleasant the staff were to, it was so much appreciated. The Old Inn is an interesting shape. It's a big area but styled well enough that it feels smaller and more intimate. Menu is modern but not too exciting, something for everyone. Beers are pretty much what you'd get anywhere else.

One annoying thing was a member of kitchen staff with the black and white apron was sat at bar obviously working. Why there, a discrete area would have looked more professional.
