Came for a birthday treat with my daughter today. Very friendly welcome. Love all the nostalgia inside. We both had the 8oz matured Aberdeen Angus sirloin steak. The service was really quick. The food was amazing. It smelled lovely. Tasted fabulous and melted in our mouths. Plates not overloaded but we were stuffed when we had finished. Will definitely be back with the rest of the family. 5☆s

Beautifully positioned by the Severn. Reasonably priced: I had the prawn salad @£10, which was very generous portion wise. The jacket pot with tuna mayo also looked lovely and not bad @£7. Lovely, friendly staff to boot - recommended if you're passing.

Great pub in the lovely & picturesque riverside village of Jackfield. A 20min walk from the centre of Ironbridge, either along the road next to the river or along the old railway track that's now a great walkway. Food is very good. I had the house burger, meaty, substantial & with a cheese mountain dripping off it. Home cooked chunky chips. Fair choice of ale & lager on tap. Fab views over the river from the beer garden over the road, opposite the pub.

Great location near the Ironbridge gorge and much quieter pub if you want to get away from the crowds of Ironbridge . Food reasonably priced. Just wish they did proper home made chips! ☹️ And lovely beer garden over looking the river Seven. Plenty of parking for cars, motorbikes or bicycles. Just a stones throw away from the popular walking route between a Ironbridge and Bridgnorth via the old railway line.

Such a lovely pub in a beautiful location overlooking the river rapids. We sat outside to enjoy the view. The grounds are so well kept with beautiful flowers, very pretty. All the tables are spaced out & the staff keep everything clean - not an empty glass in sight. Service was amazing, lots of staff & very attentive. Food was lovely too. Highly recommend a visit, especially in these times if you want somewhere to go where you feel safe.

It's a cheap and cheerful pub, popular with drinkers. The food is average; the jacket potatoes are microwaved and the desserts are ice cream or five varieties of sponge pudding. It's fine, and cheap, but its description as a gastropub is misleading.

When we were taken to our table by our friendly waitress we were immediately told of the one dish they had off. Fine because there was loads of choice of dishes of different sizes to cater for all tastes. Anyone would find something on the menu they'd like. Our food arrived quickly and was delicious. Couldn't fault it. The only problem was the very loud table opposite us which made it difficult for us to hear each other. Not the pub's fault though. We'd definitely eat here again.

Pre booked a table based on recommendations. We had to change the booking due to a flakey sister! The landlady thought this hilarious! But they accommodated our change without hesitation, and gave us a lovely table for two (see photos). We were greeted by very nice bar staff and served a lovely pint or two. A delightful waitress showed us the menu with lots of choice, and went through what was available, a couple of dishes were off, but understandable due to our seating time. We chose prawn twisters to start followed by faggots and a vegan burger. The food came quickly and was very tasty. Very attentive staff throughout. Keen to ask about how the food was and whether we wanted more drinks etc. We decided to opt for pudding, this was a struggle as we were already full, but puddings were also lovely. Simple but worth it. So, simply, great staff, great beer, great food, great value. Do visit. Also we sat inside as it was late evening, but the river bank seating also looked wonderful with great views.

Had a nice evening here, I had the 8oz steak with onion rings, mushrooms, mash and salad. I thought the food was pretty good except for the steak having a lot of fat and that's totally fine because for some reason I love how steak fat tastes. The steak was juicy and perfectly cooked, I have medium well steak as I find it's not often perfectly done at most places. I was impressed at how substantial my steak was done. I did have an empty plate afterwards and I left with a full belly. The star of the show was the sticky toffee pudding and vanilla bean ice cream, it was just to die for. I'll definitely be back.

Love this place food is very good I always have the black swan burger special and after visiting several eating places around iron bridge this has the best food. Cracking view by the river Severn, during covid the staff come to your table outside ( think your only allowed outside anyway) are friendly, efficient and aim to please everyone. Love this place me and my wife come here with our dogs and love the place always a 10/10 for value, service and atmosphere. Took my sister in law here our Raynor and she had the huge portion of barbecue ribs with most of it spread around her chops lol and she loved it Bless her , photo to be added of her beautiful barbecue rib covered smile on next review. Top place lovely walk down to it and always worth a visit highly recommend.

A very convenient carpark on the side of the road provided excellent access to the pub. The pub's main door being open, leading straight to the bar, was very welcoming as were the waiting bar staff. There was a nice selection if beers and a rather extensive and very interesting lunch menu plus a specials board. Lunch, when it came, was served in very generous portions. It was delicious and excellent value for money.

There were six of us and all meals were delish and good value for money (very generous in portion size). We will be back, excellent pub grub and lighter bites too. One of my favourite places. Location is all. There are plenty of outside tables which give you a fabulous area to sit and watch the river. It's a sunny spot and with the Severn flowing by couldnt be more perfect for a summer evening pint. It has a good varied menu of the best in pub grub, the fish finger ciabatta with tartare is a bit of a treat.

The Black Swan is one of my favourite country pubs.The food is good especially the matured steaks and the hostess is very friendly and helpful. It's in a lovely spot by the river and you can sit outside right by the river in the summer. In the winter there is usually a lovely warm fire roaring in the bar. Bliss!

This pub has the perfect location to have a drink on a sunny day by the River Severn in the Ironbridge Gorge. It's known as well as the Mucky Duck by the locals. They look after their beer but their food is no my favourite. They are no very willing to cater to the customer on the grounds of what other customers will see. So no extra well cook chips as other customers could think they burnt them, for example. Still one of our favourite spots for a relaxed drink in the area. It's always busy, even in winter

Visited on a hot, early Friday evening 03 August 2018. It is many years since we have been here and the Black Swan has radically changed. We arrived to notice a large, busy set of tables in an enclosed Riverside drinking area on the opposite side of the road to the Black Swan. Just beyond that is a tarmacked bay for the Black Swan car parking. This appears to have about 20 spaces with parking at right angles to the road. Walking through the door we passed though a small lobby with a display of local tourism leaflets. Then we entered

This is a local pub, offering good pub food with a good selection of beers. Staff are friendly and the locals too, it's also dog and child friendly. It is small inside, cosy with a log burner at one end of it's L shaped interior. There is a TV that shows some sports matches but it isn't always on and there is sometimes music playing or just silence, great to hear yourself talk. . On warm days you can sit outside overlooking the river Severn. There is a easonable amount of parking available but not a great deal of public transport passes by and the nearest main villages are Broseley or Ironbridge.

First time visiting . It seemed very busy on our trip how ever we got served quickly and felt very welcome . The food was very nice with the support of real ale . Highly recommended . Staff seem to go the extra mile to make.sure your visit is pleasant . Thumbs up
