Stopped in with my partner for dinner on the first night of a getaway. After a long journey, the George and Dragon was the perfect place for a quiet meal. The pub is cosy, inviting, and warm, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We were lucky enough to stop in on pasta and pizza night, and had a great lasagne and tortellini as well as a decadent syrup sponge for dessert. The pizza selection was surprisingly good for a pub and there's definitely something for everyone! As a real ale lover, the beer selection is great as well and they even managed to find some pear cider for my partner. Would highly recommend for dinner and we will definitely be back when we come back to the area.

Great pub serving an excellent choice of beers and the food was very good value and quality. Two of us had the fish and chips, my wife had the ham egg and chips and our other friend had the curry. (all was good) Really nice friendly atmosphere and enjoyed a good chat with the landlord about the various beer they serve. Thoroughly recommend a visit. Must mention the excellent staff who couldn't do enough for us.

Where do you start, Front of House and Service 100%, Bar great choice and good prices. Now the important bit, WOW!!!!! their Chef can cook, we had three mains, and we were all really impressed. Don't just take my word for it just look at the other reviews this is a hell of a good place to eat. Like the rest of the town the people are brilliant in this pub.

A proper old fashioned, traditional Inn. Plenty of seating in this beautiful olde building. It's friendly staff, great atmosphere, well kept and served beers, lagers etc make it am ideal watering hole. Added to this the beautifully cooked , well priced food and your visit will be a pleasure. Look beyond the well worn furniture and dated decor. If you like the "Hungry Horse" type pub, it's not for you. Well worth a visit , if you are in the area if you enjoy a trad beer in a trad pub.

I visited the pub whilst on holiday with friends last night. We had preordered food as there were 12 of us. INCREDIBLE food. High quality and cooked to perfection! We were so surprised at the value for money we got, amazing portions also. We were given a section in the restaurant but it was no trouble when we asked to move the tables about. The staff were extremely friendly, funny and accommodating. The pub itself was very picturesque with lots of character. Wonderful! Thank you so much.

Much Wenlock is a lovely place and the George added to the whole feel. A lovely old pub with real fire place, pew type seats. Great Beers and also alcohol free spirits, which as the driver were great and better than coke. There was another room out back but think that was more for food.

Small and friendly, this village pub is really welcoming to locals and strangers alike. Well kept ales on tap, this is no gastro-pub it's the place to drop into after a walk and they're dog friendly too. Biscuits for the faithful friend in a jar over the fire, bar snacks for the rest of us.

By far the best and most historical pub in Shropshire. Set in probably the prettiest little town it boasts 13th century fixtures with original oak beams, inglenook fireplace and much more. Did I mention the landlord Ben and his awesome staff? They ARE just that! Nothing is too much trouble to them. They are so friendly, caring and add to the experience when being presented with a magnificent menu of fare. Food that is of the highest quality and freshness and yet the prices are unbelievably less that you would ever expect. 11/10 for this jewel in the Crown. We WILL be back again and again. We will even drive the 95 miles from our home to eat and drink there! How we wish this was our local.

Ordered through just eat. Food ready to collect on time. Chips (crunchy!) , dragon burger (filling and tasty) , chilli (excellent could have been spicier but perfect for everyone) and a Pizza! All were excellent. Truly brilliant. If here again will make sure to eat and drink at this excellent pub.

I went in today, just me and my dog, for the 2 course sunday roast. It was a very good price with lovely friendly helpful service and they were very welcoming of my dog. Best of all though was my crunchy parsnip veggie roast with a fabulous range of vegetables and proper tasty gravy. Followed by a huge portion of plum and apple crumble with perfectly crunchy crumble and those lovely sticky gooey bits of fruit you get bubbling at the sides. When I go back to walk in the area again I will definitely go in again for a meal. And a good choice of beers on tap too. Perfect! Well I went back today, just a few weeks later. This time I was there just as they were opening on a Thursday. Just as friendly and welcoming to me and my dog, as before. This time I had the homemade veggie chilli. Delicious! Just the right amount of chilli heat. Perfect. And the crumble again, which was as lovely as before. Even a different Shropshire pale ale to try. Again I look forward to walking in the area so I can go in for my tea on my way home!

Me and the other half brought our 7 month old daughter here for a few pints. Great Ale Selection and Lager too. Food stopped serving on a Sunday at 4pm. 5pm rolls around and then the lady from the bar brought over some hot roast potatoes and gravy! What a great touch I was absolutely blown away and they were unbelievable! Would totally recommend!

Amazing Pub! Arranged a table for 12 a couple weeks back via their Facebook page with no troubles at all. Table was reserved and service was exceptional. Great atmosphere and food deserves to be up there with restaurants with famous chefs. Food & drinks were served in no time at all and for once a place that served the kids food first! Our bill including drinks was just over £125 which is amazing value. Highly recommended!

A very characterful public house with good food and excellent value. Sunday lunch had prices set on 1,2 or 3 courses and two were very filling. Nice home made soup followed by roast beef with a huge Yorkshire pud, parsnip, peas, broccoli, mashed turnip, carrots and cauliflower in a cheese sauce.

If you want a posh gastro pub this isn't the place for you. If however you want a great pint of beer with top notch home made proper pub food then look no further. If your lucky enough to be there when the venison pie is on the specials menu I can highly recommend it. The service is great too, a truly warm welcome.

Visited The George & Dragon Inn on Sunday 27 October 2019 for a drink in the late afternoon. It is many years since our previous visit and we were pleasantly surprised by the comfortable updating of the furnishings. The place was busy with customers finishing their nice looking Sunday lunch meals. We had a drink before moving on with a choice of four handpulled real ales , I had a good drink of Hobgoblin Gold ( £3.60 a pint ) and my wife had a half of Greene King Abbot Ale ( £3.80 a pint) sadly no dark real ales to enjoy. Had a brief chat to Pete who used to be the landlord of a pub in Wellington and is now feeling a lot better working here for five evenings and looking after the cellar.

We came in to the pub for Sunday Roast on Easter Sunday following the church service. Greeted by a smile and warm welcome we did not have to wait long for the table. The pub is cosy and the eating area is well laid out and seats about 28. Sunday roast was a choice of starters with the mains being roast beef turkey, salmon a vegetarian and vegan option. The beef came with Yorkshire pudding and parsnips, all with a side of vegetables, roast potatoes and gravy. To say the position sizes are generous is an understatement, we had to ask for some to be wrapped up to take home. Desert was apple pie and cream and a chocolate brownie, both very nice. Other dessert available was treacle tart or bread and butter pudding. The timings were spot on and the price very reasonable.

Traditional pub cozy atmosphere. We managed to get my wheelchair in and to a seating restaurant area . There were no disabled toilet facilities however I was not expecting it for a 16th century hostilary in this old town . There are suitable toilets in the public car park which is reasonably priced . Well worth another visit.

Really great place! The pub is cosy, oldy worldy with bags of character. The staff are very friendly. Excellent food, really great selection, plus good vegetarian and vegan options. The restaurant is equally cosy and charming, very pretty with fairy lights and flowers. My only small criticism was the roast potatoes, which tasted dry and flavourless. The rest of my meal was excellent.
