Really good food, Sunday dinner was great and didn't have to wait long at all.

Went to the Lion with my daughter, her partner and two young grandchildren for an off the cuff lunch. What a find!! The food was absolutely superb. I can honestly say the fish and chips was the best I have had in many a long year. Really crisp and crunchy batter surrounding a really fresh piece of fish with beautiful fluffy chips. My daughter and partner had burgers but these were not the run of the mill usual burgers. They looked home made and were succulent. As much care was taken with the children's meals. Puddings were great and homemade. If you want a great meal come here you will not be disappointed.

We only visited due to a minor mix up with a booking elsewhere for a family gathering and it was a very good alternative. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The place was very clean and tidy, which makes a huge difference. Plenty of drink options, and the food was well presented and hot when it arrived. I'd definitely recommend the onion rings ("doughnuts"!) in particular. Will certainly be calling in again.

Second visit for food here and wasn't disappointed..Fish and chips were first class, finished with a chocolate brownie and ice cream .Everything home made and very tasty. Great selection of beers, friendly staff. Perfect!...

We went for steak, on steak night it was very fatty,it was not a Sirloin more like thin frying steak. The pepper sauce was Tasteless, the staff was very nice and the wine was good. I will go back try different foods on the menu, cause when new Management, They always need a second chance so they can get it right.

All staff made our group feel welcome throughout the evening. Really nice atmosphere in the garden and great buffet put on. After the pandemic it was nice to go out somewhere and genuinely feel safe and have a good time. Will definitely visit again.

On the Eve of Tier 3 we visited this pub. Local to us, as we walked past earlier in the day, it could be seen that renovations had been done and it looked very welcoming. Duly, that day a table was booked for 3 in the evening time. (support bubble). A lot of the menu was not available, but understandable in the circumstances. However it meant that all of us would have the rump steak. All agreed it was the best steak we'd had for some considerable time. Nicely cooked, served by a most engaging waitress, full of humour, but efficient with it I drank a couple of pints of Oracle. Nicely kept with a decent head. Others had wines. We caught the experience just going, effectively, into a lockdown for the hospitality trade. The result of which, understandably, a lot of the menu was curtailed. However, based on this evening; we shall be back.....5 stars...

Love this pretty little pub with a nice garden and a children's play area at the back. Even a bouncy castle! Kids can sometimes be loud but that just adds to the atmosphere!

Back to being a great local pub, the decor took a bit of getting used to because it is so different to the old horse brasses look but it's tastefully done in a modern style. Young, pleasant, enthusiastic, waiting and bar staff. Decent selection of good honest pub food with nice chips! Looking forward to this team improving things even more with a few more choices or specials on the menu for the regulars.

There is a good play area outside with a good sized beer garden. The food is hand made and by the length it taken for the food to come out I would like to say its done to order but not sure if that's the case. The food has large portions at a good price. The staff are friendly and helpful. The facilities were clean and organised apart from the baby changing/ disabled toilet area this area looks a feels like it's been forgotten about. It was filthy with flys, spider webs an overflowing nappy bin and contaminated baby change area this area let's you down massively. I would be surprised if any disabled person could get there as its blocked by cleaning equipment which is ironic as that area is disgusting. At the end of our visit the offers were not on the bill so check your bill before you pay

Came here for a birthday meal. Table of 8. Was served very promptly. Food was incredible! 2 meals and a bottle of wine for £25. Freshly made steak burger which was HUGE and a very succulent rib eye steak, both with home made chips. Will definitely be returning in the near future.

Very nice food. Only one gripe with the salt & pepper boneless chicken thighs starter, only one very small chicken thigh on plate, which really did look pitiful for £5. This was put right and another thigh brought out and multiple apologies. The menu did state chicken thighs. The main were very good, especially the burgers. Staff were very helpful and accomodating.

Not a vast selection to choose from, but what's on offer is nicely cooked and tasty. I'm not really a chip eater, but these chips deserve a special mention. The place is tastefully decorated and clean. The benches hurt my bum, but I think that says more about my not-so-svelte-like body and I just sit on a cushion anyway. The staff are friendly and the place feels comfortable.

I've given the stars for the lovely lady who served us. Home made coleslaw was quarter of an onion with a few bits of carrot in something that tasted like milk or perhaps yoghurt - very strange. Chicken in the kebabs was cooked to ensure it was properly dead. Don't think I will be returning.

The Lion is a nicely decorated pub, and the beer garden is beautiful. I went on a week day for lunch with work colleagues. They only had one cook and one lady serving. They staff did an exceptional job under such pressurised circumstances. It took over 50 minutes for our food to arrive which we were notified of. The food was fine. I just think they need more staff!
