Reviews of The Pound Inn - Tap House & Eatery

Visited the Pound Inn as was passing and was search of a good meal. When we pulled in to the carpark we could see good access to the gardens and pub.
We noted that they were advertising 'the home of the pie' so we both decided to have a pie each. You get to choose from several pies, 2 sides and a gravy.
The problem I always found was with a pie there was never enough gravy. Well here you get an extra gravy with your pie. Problem solved. Drinks flowed nicely and staff were attentive and friendly with a welcoming atmosphere. My girlfriend and I will be returning again for another great meal. Would recommend. Fair prices as well.

Visited The Pound Inn last year and enjoyed the bar food, but this was especially delicious on Thursday. My husband had life of pie;steak and kidney myself had scampi. It's was a truly fab start to our 4 day break. Will return again when in the area

Really good food, lovely local style pub with a great pub garden.
Nice selection of beers and the bar staff seemed very friendly. Highly recommended !

A good pub lunch - we both had the rump steak from the local butchers served with a good portion of chips, tomatoes, flat mushroom and onion ring. The staff were very pleasant and efficient and the range of local real ales were good. The wine on offer also good. It is very dog friendly and there is a nice garden with tables where we ate in the September sun. There are several small table huts for eating in more inclement weather or for shade that seats four.

6 of us went for a very late lunch. Very cheerful team greeted us. Sat ourselves down and ordered. Lovely food in big quantities! Rosemary chips were awesome (really a two person portion). Great value. Have already booked again!

We just had bar snacks here, but they were so well prepared that they actually made for a nutritious meal. Chicken goujon, battered sausage bites and fries loaded with bacon and cheese were all most delicious and fresh tasting. Friendly and fast service, and the beautiful old building, completed the picture to make this a highlight of a long trip.

Stunning thatched pub decorated with colourful hanging baskets very picturesque. We hadn't booked so sat outside in the garden in the extra seated area on bales of hay, different but added more fun to our experience ! Food was amazing served by friendly staff and prompt service. Would definitely recommend.

Stayed in Leebotwood in holiday let for a week a visited here for what I thought was going to be a lovely carvery.
Emailed week in advance and booked table as thought would be rather busy on a Sunday.
Told in email we were coming in for a carvery with a reply from restaurant confirming this.
When we arrived there was no carvery food on offer even though it was Sunday and they have Sunday carvery menu. All we were offered was the normal every day menu.
They never even apologised for not having carvery menu
Food we had was just ok nothing special.
Probably wouldn't go out of my way to visit again
