Reviews of The Woodbridge Inn
J. R.
Its main features are the surroundings and the river right next to the inn.
Nice historic photos hanging up inside with a bit of history.
There is no table service and have to take your order to them.
We were a big table of 8 and the food was ok I wouldn't order the buttered chicken burger 🍔 as it seemed nicer in words then what I actually got as the chicken was dry but at least I could get salad 🥗 instead of chips.
The fish and chips is what you should order that was much nicer.
The staff are friendly.

Took my partner here for his birthday lunch yesterday. We had cappuccinos, Thai fish cakes, the open prawn sandwich, and fish & chips. Food was delicious, especially the fish and chips with delightful mint mushy peas and chunky chips (the way they should be made!)
It was a beautiful day and we had a lovely view of the River Severn and Bridge. Check these photos. It was the best lunch I've had in Telford - I will be revisiting to try out their weekend breakfast. 😁
A. M.
Amazing place, great choice of food. We'll made and very tasty. Staff very polite and welcoming. I would definitely recommend
V. C.
The food was lovely. The service was friendly but a little slow given how busy it was. Lovely atmosphere and area around the pub. Would visit again.
E. D.
Delicious food with fantastic customer service, the staff eager to chat and build rapport with us and show humour while delivering our food promptly. The building itself and overall atmosphere was lovely and just provided a memorable experience with my family. Thank you 😊

So glad we found this place, fantastic menu set in a wonderful location with fabulous views over the River Severn. Lovely friendly staff with great service, the food we’ve had has been exquisite! Lovely and cosy inside with a log fire and lots of tables to eat outside in the summer! Dog friendly as well for an added bonus, we will definitely be back!
P. D.
A lovely place, overlooking the river and with views of the picturesque bridge. Food was very nice - we had the King prawn and chorizo and the crispy chilli beef salads, both very tasty. Will definitely visit again!
K. E.
Great experience here. Delicious food and great atmosphere. This restaurant was recommended to us by the B&B we were staying at and it did not disappoint.
T. R.
Such a lovely setting for this Inn.
Made to feel most welcome wether its to eat or just for a drink by the river side.
The quality and portion sizes of the beautiful food justify the prices.
So please, do not miss a visit here!
G. E.
Great place to have lunch or dinner with lovely food and a beautiful view across the Severn valley. So peaceful. Can't recommend highly enough, go there you'll not be disappointed.
S.
Great food, lovely place and atmosphere. Haven't given 5 stars as from having mains to dessert it was a lengthy wait. Apart from that really good.
B. L.
Our first visit to this Pub/Restaurant . A lovely ambiance and friendly atmosphere. We sat inside but on a hot day lots of tables to sit outside along the river Severn. It was a family get together meal. Six of us in the party. We all chose different main courses and desserts. Every single choice was delicious. All plates empty. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There are several steps down to the pub from the car park. Also the toilets are upstairs very steep steps . Maybe a disabled toilet downstairs? These are not negative comments just to inform people. A wonderful afternoon get together enjoying excellent food and atmosphere.
C. P.
Beautiful location on the River Severn just down from Ironbridge - a hidden gem! Amazing food, and an all round great place to go for an afternoon drink with the family!
w. s.
Gorgeous pub right on the river, just popped in for a drink with my daughter and Grandson and was very impressed by the cosy interior with more than one real fire dotted about giving a lovely warm atmosphere on a cold day, the views are fabulous looking out onto the river and I can't wait to go back during the summer months as I imagine it would be idyllic, decent choice of wine and real ales and I was told from a friend that the food is excellent so I'll definitely be paying another visit
R. C.
Easy to book, easy to park, friendly yet professional staff. Unpretentious, good tasty food and a good choice of drinks and beverages. My wife and I have dined here a few times now and have never been disappointed.
Many thanks for giving us an enjoyable evening. We’ll definitely be back soon.
D. J.
Lovely location overlooking the gorge. Very clean and spacious. Staff friendly. Menu, main courses quite expensive. We had the two light salads which were better value for money. Toilets were upstairs although I didn't inquire whether disabled ones were accessible!
B. S.
The pub is in an amazing location with great views across the river. It is huge and has loads of capacity inside and outside and there is generous parking.
The quality of the food is excellent, there is a good choice of local beers and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.
C. N.
As usual, fantastic food, helpful, friendly, knowledgable staff, had crispy beef salad, told by lady who served us that the vegetable I was so enjoying was lotus root, never heard of it before but it was lovely. We went on a lovely sunny evening. Sitting on the terrace, beautiful plants and flowers around. Just above the river. Like being in a different world, listening to the birds sing, quiet and peaceful. Beautiful.
F. J.
Had a wonderful 3 course lunch. Good sized food portions, fresh and hot. Plenty of choice. Fairly busy yet staff very friendly, helpful and efficient. Bar/seating/washrooms very clean. Will definitely be re-visiting.

We booked a meal here (11 of us) to celebrate my parents 60th wedding anniversary. WOW! It was fabulous. The setting is absolutely stunning, the inn itself is full of character and beautifully laid out. We received a really warm welcome, and to top it off the food was amazing. Highly recommended 👌
I. N.
Generally a good meal. Food was good. Service was OK but got the feeling that they were understaffed or at least not very experienced. We booked for 5 but table given was only for 4 with an extra place setting put on after we arrived even though there were plenty of tables for 6 not being used. Drinks order made when mains were served arrived with the puddings, was taken away when requested but still on the bill so had to be asked to be taken off. As I said the meal was good and we usually love this place, this time was just not so great.
S. C.
We had an early evening meal yesterday and the food was nice but the service was not great - I think we must have arrived between shifts as there was not many staff around, we had to queue for a while to get drinks and ask for a table and then we weren't sure if it was table service or not - some people did, some people didn't. The ordering app did not have the food menu on so we couldn't order using that - it wasn't working the last time we went there either.
They also really need to do something about diverting the smell of the septic tank away from the outside eating area - they've spent a lot of time, money and effort making the outside area look lovely but the smell is not pleasant, particularly on hot days like yesterday!
A. F.
Beautiful pub in gorgeous location. Staff looked after our group of 11 brilliantly, even kindly organized taxis back to our hotel. Everyone loved their food, dietary requirements were well catered for, and the warm hospitality of the staff gave us the evening to catch up and relax that we all really needed after a couple of days stuck inside a conference centre. Thank you Woodbridge Inn!
S. M.
What a stunning location, on the edge of the River Severn, beside Coalport Bridge. If possible get a table in the conservatory so you get the benefit of the river views.
The food is good, but maybe a little expensive for what it is. Friendly service, but could possibly have been a little more attentive.
I wouldn't fault them though, particularly in the current times.
L. P.
Fantastic setting by the river brilliant friendly staff excellent food, what's not to like
S. B.
Good food, but pricy and not much on the plate.
Their 'sister' pub, the Roe Deer seems to do it better, apart from the portion sizes.
Arrived 6:30. Order taken promptly.
3 drinks from the fairly quiet bar took over 20 minutes, dinner arrived just before 7:30
Disappointed and left feeling reluctant to return.
S. L.
Fantastic quality food with views to due for. Strongly recommended
S. O.
Excellent meal out with friends. Staff were very friendly. Surprisingly spacious inside & well laid out. Lovely garden area outside with plenty of seating to enjoy the river view.
T. S.
Great food and a wonderful location for a sunny lunch date by the river with excellent service! Highly recommended
S. D.
Food is so good here. Very generous with the portions. You definitely get your money's worth. Location is beautiful and peaceful overlooking the river Severn. Will be visiting again soon.
M. B.
Have just returned from The Woodbridge after eating a lovely roast. The food was great, and hot. Our server was Gaby who was so friendly and chatty. Excellent service in a superb setting. Highly recommended.
R. C.
visited here on a Sunday. mid day, was very quiet but started getting more and more busy as time went on, but well managed by the staff, we had lamb and beef. lamb was a bit tough. I like it to melt in your mouth, the rosemary gravy that comes with it was very nice, had oreo cheesecake for dessert which was very nice, well be visiting again
M. W.
Lovely pub in a wonderful setting by the river Severn. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The food is great and reasonably priced. Worth going for a drink to take in the view.
M. H.
An idillyc atmosphere next to the Woodbridge Inn invites to typical englisch cuisine.
D. M.
Really cant recommend this pub enough, walking through Coalport two days ago chatting to couple who lived in the village asked which local pub can you recommend for meal, without any hesitation The Woodbbridge Inn, we decided to visit the pub and was not disappointed, such a wonderful location a friendly welcome from the bar, the food was excellent, the service staff was happy to assist as we had in our group of five a gluten and dairy dietary requirement. A massive thank you to all the team for making it a memorable evening.
C. I. M.
Excellent customer service, lovely food and perfect for families.
K. W.
Wonderful location, friendly staff, lovely food. 100% recommended.
D. P.
We booked for 7 then increased it to 10 without a problem. The pub is in a lovely location on the banks of the river Severn, with plenty of outside seating. Our food was tasty and well presented and the staff were fruendly and helpful.
R. F.
Very pleasent setting, nice atmosphere, friendly polite staff. Meal was of a generous size and tasty. We went quite early in the evening, but as we were leaving it was getting quite busy, recommend that you book.
S. T.
Had a lovely family meal here. The lovely young waitress (unfortunately didn't get a name)was very patient with my elderly Aunt and 7 year old niece. Food was lovely a step up from the usual pub grub. Recommend the beef salad and the chocolate and salted carmal tart. Might give it another go to sample some more of the dishes when taking part in the Ironbridge walking festival 😊
G. L.
This pub / restaurant is situated on the banks of the Severn in the old early industrial area of Madeley. Very pleasant vistas from the tables on the rear terrace of the river and woodland on the far bank. The food was good but not exceptional and the service was rather slow for a quiet Monday evening. Getting there requires negotiating several very narrow roads and a single track bridge.
I. K.
Absolutely amazing staff, could not be kinder. The location speaks for itself and the food was incredible. We could not be happier to have this beautiful restaurant /pub on our doorstep!
H. C.
Very nice menu both food & drink, very tranquil with the river flowing nice venu.
D. H.
A lovely venue, we had a great meal, the staff were extremely helpful.
E. J.
Great location. Good parking. Fantastic outdoor space. Lovely food, though a little pricey.
Two issues that knock off a star.
Outside seating always needs access to parasols in case the sun comes in force.
The ordering app (which they're quite insistent you use) is flakey and we almost rage quit the place after it decided to reset itself two or three times. And yes, I had working internet at the time. Get a better app.
C. F.
Great pub, lovely atmosphere, excellent food and efficient, pleasant staff.
D. R.
Omg amazing lamb shoulder with the best gravy in the world. My partner kept dipping her chips in my gravy. Not our first time, certainly not our last. Always had a great time (including a romantic power cut last winter!)
B. S.
Incredible views, stunning location, brilliant staff and beer is well priced
A. B.
Great food, great service and prices are not unreasonable. I had an issue with a fish bone, which I managed to pass within an hour. Didn't fancy a trip to A&E
N. J.
Have been here a number of times over the years sometimes an excellent experience others less so, but have always gone back as in general it’s a lovely places to be!
Last night food was fine but we felt service was sub par for the kind of place it is. No one was ‘rude’ (although the lad behind the bar seemed to look like he wanted to punch something and couldn’t understand why someone would ask him to make a drink!) but no one seemed to go over and above to be chatty, and give that warm service that I’ve experienced here or at The Oakley before.
The first barman my boyfriend had an interaction with was very miserable, and he was left standing at the bar after being clearly seen by the barman when he walked off after serving the person in front. No comment to apologise and say he had to deal with something urgently, or that someone would be back soon to service him, he just looked at my boyfriend and walked off.
Then an older couple came to pay, and a second staff member came round the corner and asked if they needed any help also ignoring my boyfriend stood patiently at the bar.
We asked for a bottle of water at the table and despite everyone else being given the refillable bottle of tap water, we were given bottled water you pay for - why didn’t the waitress clarify what we wanted first? It’s quite basic to check that so we didn’t then have to ask someone else to swap it.
We ordered some drinks to have on the terrace after our meal and they were delivered by essentially being dumped on the corner of the table, she didn’t even say anything when she left them on the table (missing a water) so we had to give the drinks to the right person ourselves. Again, trivial, it may seem, but in a place like The Woodbridge I do expect better service than that. (Also one of those drinks was also wrong, we worked out later.)
There were some lovely staff members, the blonde lady who served us at our table was lovely and there was a guy wearing checked shirt who was really polite every time we saw him. 👍🏼👍🏼
I don’t often write long reviews like this, but we just feel that for a good pub with a good reputation we didn’t get the very warm welcome and happy staff we’ve seen before. Having worked in retail and hospitality I know how much you feel you’re missing when it’s lovely weather and you’re working, but really you have not let that be obvious to your customers!
M. T.
Wonderful calm atmosphere, great for a glass of wine and good food, or birthday dinner. Food is really good. Also get coupons for a meal during weekdays, 6 coupons for a meal.
T. S.
Great location, very pleasant and personable staff and excellent food. Plenty of room inside and out. Very popular and rightly so!
S. C.
Beautiful setting, food was lovely, will defo go there again !!!!!
J. P.
Great great service, lovely location. Awful sewage soil pipe smell coming in through the dining area window. Food was prompt and most of our group had a good meal. My curry was bland bland, with no flavour or seasoning at all..masses of rice, hardly any curry and tasteless. I mentioned this to the server. No reduction in the bill or any feedback. I don’t see how a chef can send anything out without actually tasting it or looking at what they are putting together. £15 for a cup of rice and some tasteless veg. Shame.
J. W.
Lovely place, great setting by the river. Friendly and accommodating staff and good food. One of the best Brunning and Price pubs I’ve visited.
S. W.
I will always have fond memories of The Woodbridge Inn. Our group of 12 were easily accommodated. The staff were amazing, food was very good and came quickly considering the busyness of the Inn. The setting is just lovely!
C. A.
Beautiful Location!! Food was excellent and the staff were attentive, friendly and efficient. Highly recommend
T. L.
Very difficult to get to in a van, weight, height and width issues on most routes. Food was ok, service pretty average, beautiful location but no business should rely upon just that. Bit disappointed to be honest.
K. H. (.
Good food, nice location and good line up of ales, could do with more choices for draft cider for hot days. The pricing is high for what is just good quantity pub food, an example is £16 for two puddings is a little high.
L. T.
Beautiful pub in an amazing riverside location. Nothing nicer than sitting in the beer garden on a lovely day. Food a bit pricey but nice.
M. R.
This place is located in a beautiful area down by the River Severn.
The food there was amazing.
The staff are top notch and very effective.
Highly recommended
L. C.
A really, lovely place. The staff are so friendly, and the food was amazing. We sat outside on the terrace, really relaxing.
A.
Food was good and setting beautiful but staff seemed overstretched and service was slow. Great place to eat but allow plenty of time and it does get very busy
C. A.
Been here a few times and always so lovely, staff are friendly, food is perfect, especially love the Sunday dinner, really lovely spot to sit outside too.
J. G.
Absolutely delicious food, excellent service in beautiful surroundings, highly recommend
P. B.
A wonderful riverside pub just a short walk downstream of the Iron Bridge! Food was very tasty and traditional with good portion sizes - the mustard truly was proper English!! Highly recommended for a walk in the local area either as a starting point or lunch stop for a hike! Would definitely return again upon visiting the area.
S. O.
Lovely pub only called in for a couple of pints.. which were absolutely spot on👍 and lovely people.. would definitely recommend
J. S.
We went for my 70th birthday meal last night, food was fabulous and the lady who looked after us was so lovely (didnt get her name)we wernt rushed at all and we had a lovely time so thankyou xx
a. p.
Lovely food and ales 🍺, fine selection of gins, nestled right on the side of the River Severn, so very picturesque; what more could you ask for?
m. s. c.
The most beautiful pub I have ever been to. Excellent service, delicious food and the most magnificent views.
L. M.
Nice place to go for food and lovely surroundings by the river severn. Service a bit slow but it was busy and servers working hard to attend to everyone
A. G.
Great location, amazing views.Nice food, the dessert menu needs to be thought of better, lemon cheesecake too sour, the waffle too sweet, the dishes haven't got the right balance of flavours.
P. H.
A little gem situated on the banks of the river Severn.
I was asked to meet someone here and what a lovely surprise.
Worth going out of your way to visit.
Large carpark. Free house.
Ancient hostilory, well decorated, on entering felt comfortable and at home.
Good food, good selection of wines and beers.
Staff helpful and efficient.
M. W.
Great place to eat in a lovely location with beautiful views. Food and staff were fantastic - very friendly and welcoming. In these uncertain times staff were very meticulous following Covid procedures, so that you felt safe and comfortable. Enjoy!
G. W.
Lovely pub just outside of Ironbridge we came to celebrate my sisters wedding the food was exquisite and a good selection of real ales
R. n. A. P.
Gastro pub. Great for a nice meal out. Not set up as a drinkers pub, more focus on higher end dining.
J. L.
The waitress was particularly helpful and friendly. Food was excellent. I had the chicken gam and leek pie! Yummy!
D. M.
Great food fantastic location.
T. P.
Lovely location really nice restaurant the food and service was great. Definitely be going back again.
S. D.
Went to The Woodbridge Inn for a catch up and bite to eat and saw a gorgeous plant in the grounds. Asked a staff member what it was, next thing gardener comes over and says can’t remember, but as he had 2 out there, he’d take one out for me!! What a lovely thing to offer. I was so surprised and delighted. Thank you so much. Food, drinks, views and company of my best friend were great too. Lovely pub and atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit.
M. G.
Great food and a friendly staff. Plenty of free parking all set along side the river Severn
E. F.
Beer garden heaven. Lovely big pub with loads of space indoors and out outside on the river. Dog friendly and with great soft drink options. Lovely staff too. Highly recommend!
J. T.
Went on a bank holiday Saturday with the girlfriend for date night. We had booked a table for 6pm. It was moderately busy for that time and was seen to rather quickly!
We ordered the starters and mains and had our starter within 10minutes. I had Pan Fried Wild Mushrooms which was delicious and wish I had more! My girlfriend wanted a side of Warm Bread with Balsamic Vinegar and Oil, and they were happy to accommodate that!
After the starter it was about 15minutes for the mains to come out. The Honey Roasted Ham and Eggs was lovely, there was a good amount of ham (4slices) and eggs cooked perfectly. My Girlfriend had the Steak Burger and said the meat was well cooked and not to tough, the relish was good.
All in all it was quick friendly service, brilliant food and a lovely atmosphere!
R. W.
It was cracking. Food was great, great menu choice and caters for all tastes. Atmosphere was very comfortable and homely. Service was very professional and felt natural. Location was on point too. Will certainly be visiting again.
A.
Delicious food, chilled classy vibe, excellent gluten free menu with puddings that aren’t just a fruit salad 👌🏻 also dog friendly.
M. M.
The Inn and location are fantastic. The food was quite average however which would be OK if it wasn't so expensive and the portion sizes weren't so small. We also had alot of small issues with missing trimmings for multiple people some of which we didn't realise until after the meal and was too late. In short: lovely place and people but they need to step up the food at their prices.
J. K.
Fantastic restaurant lovely food and Fab surroundings and the staff are absolutely spot on, professional, pilot and very friendly. Took my mum for her 89th birthday she loved it.
N. G.
Had dinner here as a family of four. The place had a really nice atmosphere and the food was very nice. Would definitely go back!
M. A.
Had lunch with friends and it was an enjoyable meal. Mini waffle yum. A lovely laid back afternoon.
Beautiful setting.

Lovely location, good food, good service!

Beautiful spot to have lunch/dinner . Great views overlooking the river. Food excellent. A must go to pub.

Will definitely be returning whether it is for business or pleasure!

Beautiful pub in ideal location overlooking the river. We had s Sunday roast here and was fantastic. Waitress was very friendly and service all around was good. Will be returning soon.
C. R.
Beautiful place to sit and have a bite to eat or a drink, staff friendly and easy to approach, the views of the river are spectacular 😀 food was really really tasty, had the beer battered fish and chips and wow!
p. m.
Beautiful location matched with beautiful facilities. Superb service and quality of ales and food. Perfect level of counter measures for COVID-19 felt safe the whole time we were there. Thoroughly recommended
P. K.
Unfortunately the main menu was not to my taste, so opted for a starter and nibbles which were very tasty. Good beer served here.
M. H.
Visited on a Sunday and was very pleased to see that there was a good selection of food as well as traditional roasts. Real ale selection was excellent.
F. M.
Really great atmosphere, friendly efficient service and wonderful food. All round great experience

Lovely meal in beautiful setting. Pleasant staff.
D. J.
Tiptop place, excellent service and good quality food and drink. Worth booking a table a few days in advance as it can be super busy if you just turn up lol 🍻
A. S.
Can't beat this for views. Riverside dining at its best. Exceptional staff. Good ale. Food is good too.
D. H.
Lovely location and atmosphere, very nice food.
S. G.
38 years ago we did our courting here. There were an old couple who sat the other side of us every weekend drinking a pint or two. They must be dead now. It's a blast from the past coming here again.
A. F.
Very friendly staff and helpful as explained about allergies and gave us a Menu with the various ingredients.
The service was with a smile 🤣😂 by all staff.
l. s.
Great location and a great pint!
H. S.
Great place and situated right by the river. The food was excellent and the service was excellent too.
R. C.
Had a lovely meal on Bank Holiday Monday even though the staff were obviously very busy. The staff were clearly well trained and professional. Beautiful location.
R. E.
Lovely location and excellent food and service
I. R.
Great meal, nice atmosphere and staff lovely. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit .
D. C.
What a lovely spot! We went on a weekday for lunch. Not too busy at midday (getting busier towards 1pm). The light-bite menu options were delicious if a little more expensive than your standard pub food, but again, you are paying for the lovely location as well as the yummy food. The gardens need a little bit of attention though guys, making access a bit clearer.
L. J.
Superb light bites including wild garlic arancini. Quick and delightful service, peaceful bridge and river view from plentiful outdoor tables.
a. l.
Great place to eat, gets really busy so best to book furst
C. B.
service Had a lovely lunch, great setting, sat out with views of the bridge. Swift service. Good atmosphere.
C. G.
Sat on the bank of the river The Woodbridge Inn is picturesque. With at patio area to eat and drink outside it's one of the nicest places in the area to go when the sun is out. There's a wide selection of food and is of a high quality with excellent service.
My only note is that during popular times finding a free parking space can be difficult and wait times for food will be high, though it's worth it.
M. T.
Fantastic views over the River Severn. You can choose to eat and drink on the outside terrace if required ..
J. C.
Lovely roast dinner 🍽
P. R.
Beautiful location and so much more to do in the local area
J. B.
The service was great and so was the food. We even had a discussion with one of the staff about paint colours as they had recently decorated and someone came out with the tins of paint.
Very genuine staff.
Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for nice ambiance, good food and decent portions.
S. C.
Try the light ale brewed locally in Newport Salop, excellent. Great food even better service
G. N.
Excellent food and lovely friendly service
A. G.
Still probably the best pub in Ironbridge area after quite a few years of us visiting it (and others), with very nice seating areas, well varied and presented, tasty food options. Staff goes out of their way to make you comfortable and enjoy the meal which we definitely did many times.
Only other comment was that on this occasion lamb was a bit on the dry side and would have benefited from more spices / seasoning and braising.
G. W.
Having had one trip here that was not brilliant the manager got in touch and was genuinely concerned about our experience and rectified it to our satisfaction, So review has gone up from 1 star to 5
J. H.
Lovely pub in a great Riverside location. We always sit outside no matter how cold as the view of the river and bridge is one of mine and my wife's favorite. We usually stop off on a circular walk from Ironbridge which I would definitely recommed
R. J.
We sat outside as we still want to maintain distance. The view was amazing. The staff were lovely and attentive and wearing masks. Shortly after we arrived lots of people came to sit indoors as it's obviously a really popular place for meals. We thought that we would be forgotten outside but we were not. Our food came swiftly and was really delicious. Would highly recommend.
L. M.
The food is gorgeous and the setting is stunning. Service isn't so great though with waiting staff dressing in Jean's etc and having to ask for drinks 4 times and the bill 3 times.
M. F.
Great atmosphere and a lovely setting, we really enjoyed our impromptu visit to the Woodbridge.
We visited just after Christmas and the place was beautifully festive with lights and decorations. The Christmas menu looked good but we ordered off the main menu. The food was delicious and the portions were very generous with nice views out over the river from the restaurant.
Even though the place was busy, they managed to squeeze us in and weren't in a hurry to get us back out of the door again, even though we had to take a reserved table for later in the day.
All in all, very impressed
S. P.
Beautiful setting. When weather good sitting outside overlooking the river vrry tranquil
L. P.
Lovey food. Super pub with such breathtaking scenery. Highly recomend. Staff are very sociable and friendly
A. M.
Well presented traditional pub & restaurant. Friendly bar staff & selection of real ales in good condition. Menu looked tempting & well priced. Picturesque riverside location. Would definitely visit again when I am in the area.
J. H.
Very nice, big pub. Food is nice, and the service is excellent. Outside dining area is well presented, lots of places all around the grounds. Inside dining area too, was very nice, and spacious.
l. p.
Brilliant place .good food. Friendly staff.
R. F.
What an absolutely fantastic place. We were warmly welcomed by Katie and shown to a lovely romantic table overlooking the river. Katie was very knowledge about all the different ales and suggested a beautiful pint of Hobsons. I had the lamb shoulder and the wife had the chicken and leek pie. Both meals were out of this world and followed by chocolate brownies to finish things of. Thank you Katie and the rest of the team for such a wonderful time. See you again soon.
S. G.
Beautiful setting. Great food and service. Even made the dog welcome
N. W.
Fantastic meal, beautiful, melt in your mouth lamb. Great staff, would definitely eat here again.
D. B.
It's in a beautiful location on the banks of the River Severn. Warm, friendly staff with a great selection of food. Our waitresses was excellent. The building is lovely both inside and out. It's a long way from where we live but we will be back again soon lm sure.
N. R.
Had the lamb it was cooked to perfection meat fell off the bone. They also accommodated my veg choice too x

Lovely setting by the side of the Severn. Good menu excellent food.
K. H.
Wonderful location, so beautiful to seat outside when the weather is nice. Friendly stuff. But unfortunately menu wasn't wow. Definitely will be back but just for a quick bite and drink.
I. M.
Beautiful location, delicious food, lots of outdoor seating. Highly recommend
D. P.
A very good dinning service, the food was very good.
Highly recommended.
S. K.
The Woodbridge Inn is set in beautiful surroundings on the River Severn. The food and service was excellent and they catered for a party of 9 which was great. Plenty of parking and not far from Ironbridge. Highly recommended, advanced booking also recommended.
V. “. B.
Very nice atmosphere and great food and service. Dogs are more than welcome and it made it the right place to stop for a Sunday meal after a long walk. Would definitely recommend and be visiting again.

K. M.
Love this place. Very good service, good food and beautiful location
T. S.
Lovely place, lovely meal but potions not too big
a. j.
My husband and I had our first date here five years ago and we always look forward to going back and the food is fantastic
l. k.
Just one of the nicest pubs, I've ever had the pleasure to eat at. Really good steak and kidney pudding. With cooked vegetables. Not the hot and raw that you seam to get in some pubs. And a good well kept pint. Lovely staff
C. C.
Beautiful restaurant with fantastic decoration in an absolutely gorgeous setting! The food and drink were spot on, looking forward to going back again soon on a sunny day to enjoy the outside seating with the view of the river.
M. F.
Beautiful food and surroundings , Great view from our table of the garden and Riverside. Big shout out to all the staff , doing a grand job ! Great to see the beautiful lady that is Katie Garbett 😘 stay safe and hope to see you soon xx
D. L.
Delightful place where to spend time enjoying of the nice river view. Good service and tasty food. I will definitely go back.
J. J.
Very nice lunch on 27th September my husband birthday 69 of sge
N. E.
Amazing pub good quality food worth every penny. In a beautiful setting too. Highly recommend.
H. R.
Lovely views and food is really good. Nice garden for children. Perhaps a bit of a victim of its own success on a busy day. I phoned to see if I could book and was told they were not taking bookings but if there was room outside we could wait. When we got there they had put up a sign saying no walk-ins. Bit of a pain with a car full of kids but staff were impeccably polite and apologetic.
S. J.
Went for Sunday lunch it was OK but was warm not hot, service was slow and girl didn't seem very interested in seving but great scenery
K. T.
Stunning location next to The River Severn, excellent food, served quickly and efficiently by friendly staff. Top notch food, and a great choice of drinks from the bar. All in All , a great place to enjoy a lovely meal. Booking a table is highly recommended, especially for lunchtime and evenings. 👍👌
S. B.
Nice place, dog friendly, enjoyed the food hut a little pricey
C. C.
Great place with picturesque views. Food & service superb. Staff couldn't do enough to make our meal a fantastic experience. Will definitely be going back.
d. c.
Great staff. Huge pub. This one is something special.
G. C.
One of the nicest places to sit out next to a river with great food and local beer.
J. M.
Very nice and friendly staff and the food was excellent.
W. G.
Beautiful restaurant set along side the river seven serving great food and real ales
S. J.
Lovely venue. Lots of outside space. Getting a bit pricey and predictable menu. Same stuff repeatedly.
B. B.
Visited 28th August..
Visited with a large group..on the whole they catered for us very well but sadly some of the dishes weren't up to the standard that one would expect.
A big thank you to the staff, very polite and friendly
And the manager did come over and apologize and adjust the bill..
Maybe just an off day.
M. C.
Lovely relaxed pub serving great food. Toilets are a bit difficult to find though 😀
J. M.
Great food, service and selection of drinks in a beautiful location
S. M. I.
Lovely food and great atmosphere like always 🥳
J. P.
Another great meal and good friendly service. Not cheap but you get what you pay for as they say. Highly recommended.
P. W.
We haven't been for 2 years. So we thought to go for lunch. Still a very high standard of food and service. Lovely setting and the place was spotless.
E. L.
Gorgeous location. Service was great. I wouldn't say the food is perfect as for the money I have had better but overall it was a decent experience for Father's Day and we had a lovely time. Will definitely be back!
P. G.
Great food and drink Freindly helpful staff
A. J.
Great pub. Lovely river views
y. w.
Enjoyed our meal there today lunchtime.
P. H.
Great place for a beer along the river. Didn't eat so can't comment.
A. L.
Lovely food, fantastic staff and gorgeous views. Dogs were very welcome and treated exceptionally well. We had three and they were all offered water after a very busy day of exploring.
J. P.
Wow! What an amazing Sunday Roast.
A great atmosphere and lovely attentive staff. Very accommodating to our sometimes vocal little doggy 🐕
Would highly recommend and return again. Thank you
S. a. S. R. H. L. M.
A little expensive given the quality and quantity of the food but service was mostly good and will visit again
W. S.
Delicious food and great service.
The Woodbridge has cultivated a really relaxed and friendly outdoor seating and eating environment despite covid restrictions in place. They've designed it in a way you forget you're in the midst of a pandemic and able to dine in a natural setting feeling safe, secure and well looked after.
Food was excellent as always!
T. P.
Good food with lovely staff in beautiful setting
A. B.
Nice location with large carpark, great view from the terrace over looking the river and the bridge. Staff very friendly and helpful serving lovely food. Not too pricey either.
J. L.
loved it here.. food was great 👍 staff was great 👍 definitely going again
A. R.
Lovely meal as usual. Staff very professional and friendly. Tables still spaced out, felt very safe and comfortable.
L. C.
It was really nice
M. N.
A really pleasant Riverside pub, that serves good food and ale. Four of us had a lovely meal with good service and a nice varied menu that catered to everyone's taste. Will definitely return.
R. S.
Great views, nature, location absolutely beautiful setting. So relaxed and a great spot for a drink outside. 🍸 👍
S.
Beautiful place. Was a quick stop for drinks. Staff was welcoming and helpful. Didn't try food but it smelt delicious.
K. W.
Been there on several occasions and never had a bad meal with outstandingly good food in beautiful surroundings, one of the best meals I've ever had and to anyone wishing to go you wont be dissapointed
O. B.
Great food, friendly staff, nice pint and massive gin selection. Would definitely recommend!
J. C.
We called in July but the carpark was full and we hadn't booked so we carried on. In this way again this time we booked. This time on a Sunday evening in early September the car park was nearly empty. We had a table by the window overlooking the River Severn and a Ironbridge, not the famous one further up stream. It was a Sunday menu with roasts and really not much else. We both had the roast beef with trimming. All was fine except the roast potatoes. Which I expect had been left under a hot lamp for quite a while. Maybe because the place was empty. We followed with a excellent cheese board.
All in all the inn is lovely. With a very large garden by the river and some old fashioned cosy rooms with fires plus a wide selection of cask beers. The staff were friendly and efficient.
Would call again if passing but try midweek.
J. K.
Gorgeous place. Super food. Lovely, friendly, helpful staff. Beautiful views. Fantastic all round.
R. A.
What an absolute diamond of a place!
Booked a table at this beautiful country pub after being recommended by a friend - it definitely did not disappoint. The location and views alone set the scene for a fantastic evening.
We were then greeted by excellent, faultless food served by the friendliest and most genuine staff members I’ve ever encountered. Such a warming environment to be in on a Saturday evening for dinner, will definitely be returning again and recommending to friends and family.
A. R.
Good pub food and cozy atmosphere
R. P.
Absolutely fantastic place never even knew there was a pub there
Mind the bridge it's very narrow but the pub is fantastic the views stunning will be going back to eat as soon as possible
J. H.
Had a birthday party there 17 of us brilliant food and service
J. P.
What a lovely pub with great service and wonderful food to match, so glad we are here and not the hotel as it is a little gem!
A. R.
First time in a long time returning to The Woodbridge and was so pleased with everything. Delightful menu to suit everyone including lovely desserts and coffees. Beautiful location. Friendly and welcoming staff. All in all a lovely experience.
S. M. (.
Excellent in dining experience with great service and good food. Poor service around booking and communications, extremely poor at answering phone (rings for ages, no answer phone system/message/call back).
C. E.
This was our second visit and the first was lovely with a great menu, on a Thursday evening.
But on our second visit today Sunday we where very disappointed. We both had the roast deef which was still very pink the Yorkshire Pugging was large but the vegetables where under cooked and the roast potatoes where hardly Roasted. We did tell the staff and where given out desserts free of charge.
But I am not sure we will go again in the near future, which is a shame as our first tie was lovely.
S. M.
Great food and a beautiful location.
G. J.
Straight to a table..lovely meal. Lovely staff...definitely worth the trip ..Will return 🙂
E. H.
Had a lovely meal ... and dog friendly too
A. J.
Lovely location and looking pub this and could easily be given 5* however the vegetation options were extremely limited on the menu which was a bit disappointing to see but it's still a nice place and I'd highly recommend it.
E. W.
Great service. Varied menu. Delicious and well-presented food. And great ambience, especially when you can sit outside in the lovely gardens, overlooking the river.
J. B.
Sitting outside is a total delight, with a view across the River Severn and the 'Woodbridge'.Well organised Covid measures.
p. w.
Fabulous delicious food and very friendly staff, shame that today was the day that 2 waiting on and 1 of the kitchen staff were off sick. The remaining staff were rushed off their feet and subsequently service was very slow, but won't put us off returning hopefully when they are fully up to numbers.
K. E.
Great setting, very scenic and beautiful garden, on the river Seven. Lovely food, it made a lovely day out great.
Z. G. E.
The location is really nice but the food was if a very average standard .
For the price it was really nothing special.
Just tasted like frozen food put in the oven which you can get at weatherspoons for a fraction of the price .
Staff where very friendly and polite though
S. P.
Went here first day out of lockdown where you could go indoors.
The pub is right next to the river and is in a, lovely setting.
The entrance in from the car park wasn't that clearly indicated and you were led down some stairs which isn't ideal when you are walking on a stick. The exit out is even steeper and has more steps. However, the lady who greeted us did say we could go back out the way we came in if that was easier for me.
There's also a toilet on the same level as the dining area for disable or perhaps young diners . The other toilets are at the top of a, lot of stairs my friend said I would not have made it up them.
We had a light main and a small pudding with a, hot drink.
The food was lovely, I had the pea, feta, asparagus and mint quiche with potatoes in creme fraiche. My friend had the rump steak chibatta with chips.
Pudding was chocolate brownie and ice cream and was small enough so we didn't feel stuffed. They also did decaff latte for my friend as was an option for all the coffees which I've not seen a pub do before.
All in all a really good experience and you get vouchers every time you go so when you collect so many you get a free main course.
M. H.
Great dog friendly pub, superb location and lovely views of the river. Helpful staff and top notch food. Tiny bit dissapointed to find neither oat milk or soya milk available.
M. T.
Spent a long weekend in Ironbridge and booked a table here on a recommendation. So glad we did! Food was superb, staff were extremely friendly and the setting was beautiful right by the river. Everything was spot on with regards to covid precautions, pub was clean and we felt safe at all times which in the current climate is extremely important. Would recommend and will certainly eat here again when we come back. Thanks!
S.
Good selection of meals at very reasonable price, beautiful building and surroundings, dog friendly and great customer service. Will definitely visit again :) the waffle dessert was amazing!
C. E.
Beautiful setting and lovely large pub. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Views are great and good food served.
T. Q.
Good atmosphere, comfy seating, good beers
A. M.
Enjoyed the steak and kidney pudding for my main course. More choice of alcohol free beer and lager please
D. C.
Lovely position next to the river. Lots of different types of seating inside and outside. Staff were friendly when we entered, they offered a taste of the beers to help decide which to have and orders taken. If you look at the menu you will see what is on offer. The reason I gave it four stars and not five is they charge quite a lot for what I call pub grub. There was nothing wrong with the food, but I think you pay for the location. It hasn’t put me off going again but probably not as often as other venues.
S. C.
We booked a table do the family could finally meet after a year. Very helpful staff . No vegetarian menu . Liked th food but found the price of soft fizzy drinks excessive. ,£6.80 for 3 drinks.
P. H.
Really nice cosy place and the food is really good. Love the views out the back.
Updated... still a stunning location
S. T.
Wonderfully welcome, cosy and traditional. Superb food. Highly recommend.
C. R.
The food was fantastic and the staff charming
E. T.
Everything about is little place is stunning, from the location to the staff. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Highly recommend
S. L.
Great service and the food was amazing. We were made to feel very welcome. We will definitely be visiting again soon.
b. w.
Excellent meal and service! Very nice atmosphere, with small intimate areas for a cosy feeling.
T. L.
Had food and a beer. Big pub doing food. Sorry to say nothing special. Chips were frozen. Location wonderful. Needs to up their game.
C. A.
Excellent. Good food, good service. Lovely atmosphere.
C. T.
Excellent meal in a delightful venue.
J. R.
Called in on a walk and had a coffee and small pudding (sticky toffee, which was delicious!) Beautiful pub in a lovely setting with great staff. Visited during covid and they're following all guidelines, feels safe but still very friendly and relaxed
Y. C.
Beautiful location, great food too
K. B.
This pub is in a beautiful setting and the tables are well placed inside to comply with social distancing without compromising on that pub feel. Our food was okay, but they struggled to deal with a food allergy order (only informing us just before bringing the order that one of the key components contained the allergen) and another main dish came cold (this was quickly rectified and the meal was given free).
F. L.
A serendipitous find after the satnav brought us over the bridge - the setting was so pretty I booked us in for dinner next day. Fortunately friendly staff, and good pub food match the view. Kiwis- Cheshire Farm honeycomb ice cream is the closest you’ll get to hokey pokey in the UK…
G. C.
My son and I called in while enjoying a riverside walk, we didn't have a booking and it was fairly busy with the weather being warm.
The team explained how things were working and sorted us a table outside with great views of the river and bridge.
Table service was good and we enjoyed a beer and a chat in a lovely environment.
As we all come to terms with these unusual times the Woodbridge and it's team did a great job, which we fed back when we left. Thanks again.
I. W.
The location of this pub is beautiful for a warm summer evening overlooking the river. The service is pleasant enough and the bar offers a good range of drinks on comfortable surroundings. The menu offered a good selection let down by the execution & presentation. Good quality pub fare. Would go again.
V. M.
Collected a hot meal today which was great. The chicken and ham pie was just right. The desserts were very good too. The service in the car park was very efficient too. Thank you.
A. N.
Food was good enough. Staff ruined my day.
L. M.
Lovely, riverside pub. Good food and drinks menu. Only one negative, I had to wait 45 mins for my dessert after my coffee was served even though my husband and myself enquired twice (it was supposed to be served with the coffee),
k. r.
Lovely pub by the river. Very friendly staff. Sorted us out with water for the dog. Plenty of outdoor seating which was perfect with the good weather. Inside of the pub looked nice.
L. C.
Went for birthday meal. On Wednesday about 6pm. Very quiet for this place. Food good and Service was very good. My only moan was they charged a top price for a brandy liqueur coffee, which had bubbly airy top of cream. So to cut the amount of cream I suppose. No hint of sugar in it at all like you normally have. It actually tasted horrible. Charged for the dear brandy but nothing like it. I have not been here for a while. It was better then. I do not think I will go back again. Very high prices for the food
S. S. &. E.
You can’t fault this little gem. Even with covid restrictions there whole attitude and service was second to none. I wish all venues could take a page out of there book. Service even extend to a barcode you can scan on the end of the table, scan it to keep a running total pay your bill from the same code.
J. S.
Beautiful place and glorious setting. Food was stunning and staff very helpful. Most definitely will be going again. Very popular therefore booking I think is essential.
r. g.
Food was amazing! They did a meat platter that was out of this world! The cheese board is amazing! All of the food is amazing! Good prices! Bit upset that the meat platter is no longer on the menu! X
R. G.
Nice food + good company = happy birthday.
J. M.
Lovely Sunday lunch. Excellent service. Could order drinks when we moved down to sit by the river. Bad Internet signal.
B. F.
Great beautiful site, extensive outdoors area, lovely staff and good range of drinks inc. non-alcoholic options. Didn't eat but the menu looked very nice.
D. S.
A beautiful pub but mediocre food and service.
The drinks were great, including the Irish coffee. All of the food was quite average, especially the roast dishes which weren't even worth finishing. Good size portions but disappointing flavours and the quality of the meats was not that great.
Waiter spilled a hot cappuccino on my friend and did not replace it either.
Not a great experience.
P. L.
Beautiful location overlooking the River Severn. Good choices of drinks but we did not stay for food. Quick and courteous table service.
M. S.
We drove over to the Woodbridge from Shrewsbury never havin been before. We found it using satnav thank goodness, what a drive. Its quite a large pub restaurant with a good carpark. The main attraction is that it sits along side the river with great views of a bridge,no not the Ironbridge.I image during the summer it would be great to sit out and chill. On this winter night it was cosey and we were well looked after. We all had three courses,I ordered fishcakes and they were amazing. It was all very nice but a bit pricey we thought. Will definately try it again next year on a nice warm summer evening.
D. L.
Pre Christmas lunch.....meant to be shared with family..But it ended up with just the two of us !!
Fabulous location. Fabulous food. A little hitch with our order, but this was dealt with so very well...nobody could be troubled. Especially sitting looking at that view !!!
Can't wait to share such a lovely experience with family, when the situation allows....
Well done for coping in very difficult times xxxx
H. D.
Great atmosphere and location. They always have a good selection of guest ales and an excellent wine list.
The menu is well thought out, and the food is cooked well and served in generous proportions.
This would have been 5 stars if there had been more imaginative vegetarian dishes available.
Thoroughly recommended for meat eaters though!
P. M.
Came for Sunday lunch after a walk, good service and the food was lovely. I would definitely recommend 👌
O. S.
Staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Despite turning up relatively late on a Saturday evening and the venue being quite busy we were still able to get a table. If the weather is nice sitting outside is recommended due to the stunning views of the severn gorge and well maintained grounds.
Food was good, reasonably priced and came quite quickly and there was a good selection of drinks. Children friendly venue and ample parking.
The only downside is that due to the building's age the toilets are located up a very steep flight of steps on the 1st floor (no lift obviously), I suspect there are facilities on the ground floor for those of limited mobility but might be worth checking with the venue first if that's a concern.
H. C.
My Darling Family took me there for my 57th Birthday last Night the Food was amazing I don't normally eat 4/5 Star Quisine but I tried it and like it but would only go her on very Special Occasions as it's quite pricy but you get what you pay for There were 8 Adults and 1 child my lovely Grand Daughter Sophie who was making us all laugh while we waited for our food to arrive we all had drinks many times some were spirits and largers and the Bill came to £297.00 and my Darling Husband paid for all of us as a Christmas Present Treat isn't he Amazing as he's Retired now and lives on a Pension and has been saving this Money up for quite a few Months bless him so we could have a Memorable Day to Remember with Photo's to prove it lol........Helen C from Telford x
F. F.
A lovely meal as always, first time out since lockdown lifted. Quality food, staff always professional and friendly nothing to much trouble, would highly recommend.
J. H.
Lovely meal and surroundings very enjoyable
E. P.
Gorgeous food, friendly staff, great atmosphere and reasonably priced delicious food
J. M.
Great food in a wonderful location
D. H.
Phenomenal food and the staff and service couldn't have been better.
J. T.
Beautiful location & nice food. Not enough veg with seabass & salmon meals.
s. r.
I'll be very honest I've eaten here and my food has been good and other times no so. Service is really good and the bar staff are really polite. A nice place especially in the summer sitting outside. I will say i went on the royal wedding day and there was music playing different foods to choose from outside and they were delicious. The atmosphere was perfect. Please hold more days in the summer like this.
j. b.
Lovely setting, brilliant decor and the staff were very attentive to our needs. The food was lovely, will definitely return.
R. W.
Lovely riverside pub. Seating outside and can get very busy so would recommend reserving before hand. That said we have always been seated as a party of two although sometimes after a short wait. Food is delicious and the service is good. Been several times and not been dissatisfied once
S. C. F.
Lovely pub by the river. Really good food and service. Look forward to going back.
M. M.
Went for a family get together in July and went again last Tuesday evening. Lovely meal, good food and excellent service. Delicious desserts. Beautiful setting, especially on a summer's evening. On both occasions staff were very polite and helpful. The manager was particularly helpful and friendly and this made the evening for us. Wine is a bit steep - best to ask about prices first. But will definitely go again.
M. V.
Superb pub food set in the most idyllic picture perfect place imaginable. Currently, an additional benefit is that the place is spacious, which makes social distancing easy. Staff are friendly, highly efficient and enforce covid guidelines strictly but with a smile.
D. R.
Absolutely lovely place right on the river.
The only issue I had was my chips were not of a good quality compared to the others served, if I was paying I would of sent it back but didn't want to offend the others.
The price you pay you would expect better quality leaving the kitchen, let's hope next time I get what I would pay for.
C. W.
Had our wedding anniversary meal here today as we've been past many times and it looks so nice sitting besides the river. First impressions were good and we got shown to a table in an empty restaurant. We placed our order quickly but then we waited ages for our food. Strange as there was no other customers. The meals arrived and I must say they were delicious. Then we waited and waited and waited for the plates to be cleared. By then it was too late for a dessert as we had places to be. Two waitresses did appear later on. We sat to eat at 5pm so service to other guests seemed a bit quicker but to take nearly two hours just to get a main meal and a coffee was far too long.
T. J.
What can I say? The pub just being where it is, is enough to say go. Sit outside(weather permitted) and just chill. Nice variety of drinks. And the food menu that I saw had plenty of mouth watering meals. And they did look good when they were being served to the customers. Pricey but as a treat, by the look of fellow the patents faces, I think the food must be worth it.
M. R.
Great staff and food .Great end to a week's holiday .thank you so much
S. M.
The Woodbridge us one of our favourites... in times of Covid, this place feels very save, relax, lively and well after. Food is good, although menu is fairly reduced now, with the good quality the you would expect from a Brunning and Price... ah and those views of the River Severn from the fantastic marquees are worth the visit on its own, already
E. L.
Highly recommend food was excellent and scenery was lovely:)
W. L.
Great location but a lacklustre menu. Certainly the offer of a cold Salmon main meal did not entice regardless of heatwave temperatures. Have visited here a couple of times and apart from the lovely setting there are no 'wows' for the menu or delivery of meals....not sure we would return again anytime soon...if only for a drink on the terrace!
R. B.
Had the most wonderful view of the river and the bridge with dinner this evening. Food was excellent, service excellent. Would highly recommend
J. S.
Beautiful setting in Ironbridge overlooking the river. Clean and well maintained premises. Friendly and welcoming staff, fresh delicious food. We look forward to returning
g. w.
I had a fantastic time here, it was my first visit. Lauren who took our order and brought us our food was sweet and welcoming, without being overbearing. The food was great too, perfect portions. I had three course, although I must admit I struggled a little by the time I got to dessert, but had to finish it. And to top it all it was well priced. We left feeling thoroughly pleased. Thank you all. I cannot wait to come back for more. 😊
S. P.
Food & service was very good. Nice to see a near full restaurant aligned to the current restrictions.
P. H.
Good quality food and great service. Ran out of a few items if food and drink on the menu but it was Sunday evening on Father's Day.
L. P.
Lovely food and great location.
m. w.
Took my mother for lunch the food was delicious price was very reasonable the restaurant was relaxing with warm atmosphere the staff were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble would definitely recommend
B. M.
Unfortunately, they didn't cope well with a large party - split us into tables so they could "bring out food by table" then still ended up with ten minutes between the first and last on our table (one of the smaller ones - just 5 people). Food was okay (too salty for my taste but might suit others).
P. M.
Lovely gastro pub in great location. Very slow service from being allowed in, to asking 3 times for a glass of wine, which arrived after the meal to asking 3 times and waiting 30 minutes for the bill.
s. t.
Double pre-birthday meal with family and friends, couldn’t have been better as well as good company excellent service and cuisine, even provided my grandson with colouring paper and crayons
M. T.
Perfect setting on a sunny day and the food is definitely recommended. Do walk their lawn to the river - photographic opportunity abounds
T. S.
Excellent food and friendly service. Lovely views over the river. Easy parking. Definitely recommend!
E. 1.
Great place to eat, good atmosphere, and during COVID-19 social distancing requirements, still has table service, and still operates with the feel of a traditional pub. Great food which definitely will be worth the cost, and will no longer keep you hungry. Only disappointment I saw was in the steak burger, with one folded piece of bacon, a single slice of gerkin, and a single splot of sauce in the middle, not spread across the bun. Could've been spread a bit more across the burger than just a small dose in the middle.
Deserts are amazing, couldn't be better. Slightly low on cheese on the day, and kept changes alcoholic beverages at the bar regularly which was a slight pain when wanting the same thing as a couple days before.
N. P. P.
Amazing pub with fantastic views of the river and surrounding countryside. Food was amazing. Covid rules followed so felt at ease sitting inside.
S. H.
In an idyllic setting, with a lovely terrace to relax and take in the view (see photo).
It's a traditional pub with lots of nooks and crannies, comfy chairs, wood burners for the colder weather, plus a large dining room which makes the most of the river view. We are working our way through the varied menu and we've never been disappointed - the food has always been first rate, with generous portions too.
S. P.
Beautiful setting, nice staff great food, my only concern would be I had a portion of French fries with my meal that were already salted when they were served. They weren't advertised as salted fries. And there was a lot spread all over them.

Excellent food, better than the average chain pub fairer. Service was great and very child friendly, nothing too much trouble staff.
If you can get a table with a view this is a stunning place for lunch.

Visited for a Christmas meal with work colleagues. Food was pre-ordered so service was very quick. Excellent selection of beers available from the bar. Food was excellent, very tasty and a large portion. Great value for money. Plenty of parking space available. Lovely view down to the river Severn. Recommended.

Great food, dogs very welcome but, not cheap. Nice views and large car park. Bridge getting there is rather narrow, just an inch or so to spare. Height was fine!

While visiting family, had a chance to pop out for a 'childless' meal, it was close by and had good reviews so decided to drop in. Luckily had a table free on a busy Saturday evening. Great service, tasty food, and reasonably priced. A very nice little place.

Fantastic food so much flavour. Sticky toffee pudding was amazing. Beautiful location and great atmosphere. Definitely will eat there again. Looking forward to my next visit

First visit this evening,on arrival welcomed and directed to seat immediately by pleasant staff ,who continued to be helpful, professional and friendly all evening. I selected meal of lemon and thyme chicken but requested change from pasta to potatoes which they swapped without fuss.Vanilla Creme brulee for pud . All meals were, fresh and presented beautifully. They tasted superb and I definitely would order them again, in fact we rebooked for Sunday lunch the next day!
The whole experience was excellent and the overall environment was pleasing, we totally recommend a visit. Well done all the staff.

Had our year end staff party at the Woodbridge. Beautiful decor, food was excellent and service was great.

Beautiful location but can't help believing the food prices now are at a premium because of this. The quality used to be better. Recently have even been getting the wrong or indifferent meals. Still a lovely establishment though.

Great pub on the river 7

Beautiful venue. Lovely views.

The service, the food and especially the pubs facilities and outside scenery and surrounded by the best views was outstanding. This was probably the best food I've had dining out for a long time, would definetly go there again soon, well done the Woodbridge Inn, 5 stars.

Nice spot, cosy pub, decent menu. One of our meals came cold but they rectified straight away and removed from the bill - really good service. Food was all tasty!
P. K.
Gorgeous spot by the river serving typical 'pub grub'. Friendly staff and great quality food help this place earn it's reputation as one of the best places to eat in and around Ironbridge. Excellent on a sunny day where you can eat out ok one of the patios overlooking the river, or a wet and windy winter afternoon huddled around on of the fires.

Wonderful service - attentive and personal. Marcus was an absolute star - what a lovely bloke - and the lady front of house remembered everything from our previous visit. A gem of a place.
A. B.
Great pub! Twice this week!

Beers were Great. It has an amazing view over the Severn and the wood bridge. Great place to go in sunny weather as the outside benches offer a great view. If you want food it's best to book in advance as it can run out of tables. Good parking.

Warm, friendly and welcoming.
Great food choice. Super options for GF+VE

Excellent menu. The best pasta I have had outside of Italy. We were a very mixed age party and the staff met everyone's needs. Highly recommend cheese board.

Great atmosphere....but they do not prioritise customers at the bar. Was standing there for 8 minutes to be serv ed....not even an acknowledgement...when served by the gentleman...not even an ..'sorry for the delay'...Ordered a hot drink and stood there for around another 5 minutes...I had to intervene while I was still standing at the bar to see what was the hold up.... He said I will check....he came back and said it is being made....I had to suggest to him that .." shall I wait in the seating area for someone to bring it or shall I just wait here at the bar ...he said yes I will get someone to bring it over.....moral of story...(and not a blip on the venue or staff)........think ahead of the customer's needs instead of the simple process of their Job....for example....1: won't be a moment sir/madam...and 2: I will bring over you drink to you....being a GM to my own restaurant/bar for over 10 years ...simple observation like this goes more ...more than a long way...not just a nice place and wonderful food.

This is a beautiful location, really nice building and setting.
There's loads of parking, although it's not a brilliant site if you have limited mobility.
That said this place is EXPENSIVE!
It's not really kid friendly either, which is a shame because the large space beside the river is ideal for the kids (if you can trust then next to the water!)
J. M.
Really nice steak n ale pie was lovely Not agag (all gristle and gravy) nice beers great cheese board and the best service fantastic .We'll be back. missed river view too dark. Family all loved it no leftovers .

Friendly country pub, staff are attentive and knowledgeable about products they serve. Lovely log fires and child friendly.
Lovely views of the river from inside.
Food menu always tasty. One of my favourite country pubs

Fantastic location. Super atmosphere. Lots of room. Staff friendly and quick to meet your needs. Food was excellent. Good portions and the taste.... OMG. Evident that team work was key!! We will definitely be going back.
M. S.
Really enjoyed the food, great service and lovely area. The interior is well furnished and cosy. We had a small issue with our desserts that was handled very smoothly.
Will be going back again.

This for me is the best of British. Tucked away into the magnificent panorama of the Severn River forests and serviced by a trolls bridge, this treasure chest of genuinely engaging staff, draft ales and a robust cuisine selection make this one of those magical getaways perfect to fill a full day. It's quite simply worth the drive. Let the kids explore the pristine parkland shoulders, sit outside and soak up the wilderness ambience or if you prefer submerge yourself into a romantic evening for 2 or a celebration of friends, this beautiful hotel has so much in store....
A.
We sat outside as we had a dog with us and the indoor areas where dogs are allowed was busy but that was to be expected on a Saturday night. I had 3 starters and my wife had the chicken burger. All done well. Outside has a real relaxed vibe with views of the bridge and river
C. E.
Beautiful place,lovely food,very polite staff.
B. N.
Large and comfortable place with good views over the river Severn. Lovely in the summer with lots of outdoor seating. The beer is always good and the food is absolutely fine if a little unimaginative.

Beautiful setting...food was devine....will be returning

A beautiful pub located against the stunning backdrop of the river. The food was fantastic with a couple of good vegan options and service to match.
D. H.
Very good restaurant with amazing decorations, it's like a museum !
P. L.
Great pub by the river. Went a friday lunch and was really popular later on. No spare seats. Had a lovely meal of sausage and mash. Drinks also good. Beautiful setting. Tables outside overlooking the river. Friendly staff.
A. M.
Great location, beautiful views, great starters and delicious desert and the most important- our waitress was lovely, thank you 👍
M. H.
Gorgeous setting, very picturesque. Staff were very good. Food was mostly nice. Beef was a tad chewy and the meal could have been hotter. All in all though nice place for families.
K. B.
Great Sunday lunch for a family birthday. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Great food overall. No complaints. Nice interior decor and warm wood and coal fire
P. L.
Fantastic meals all my friends
T. C.
Fabulous food in a beautiful location. Service was a bit slow but the waitress was very pleasant
C. S.
We were let down today as when we went for my birthday meal the restaurant my son had booked had closed with no phone calls to warn us.
Fortunately the Woodbridge fitted 12 of us in for a Sunday lunch which was really good and great service.
Thank you for a lovely afternoon. And saving the day.
G. L.
We really enjoy the Woodbridge. Great menu, good standards, and well stocked bar. A toasty fires to sit by in the winter months and benefits from the river view and outside seating options in the summer.
B. P.
A really nice and friendly place in a picturesque location. The food was excellent as was the beer.
Satisfying lunchtime to say the least.
K. 2.
A nice relaxing pub placed neatly on the banks of the river Severn with great views. Very nice food, but is very expensive. You are looking at £14 - £17 for what is basically a burger and chips. Deserts are an absolute joke, £6 for a 2cm slither of cheesecake and golf ball sized sorbet.
L. W.
Fantastic pub. Lovely setting and really friendly staff.
P. M.
Lovely location and great food. The service staff are so friendly and hard working. On the several occasions I have been here it is always busy and a little crowded, however I don't think this effects the service at all other than it becomes a tad slower.
Nice selection of tap beers too
K. D.
Fantastic meals and very friendly staff after telling waitress it was my 1st tym out for a meal since lockdown she was very reassuring even offering to show me staff guidelines in place have already recommended it to friends and family.
H. J.
Ideal local restaurant we are regular customers before lockdown but will definitely be back to enjoy the lovely menu, service is always good nothing is to much trouble plus an added bonus is they are dog friendly and always happy to see clever dog sam who is happy to perform a trick or two for the customers.
J. P.
Lovely lunchtime treat, we hadn't booked and they managed to squeeze us in, the burgers were so tasty and the staff were a delight, thank you
K. J.
What a wonderful place in a gorgeous setting, excellent food with a bit of a wait for the food.

Stopped here for a pint after work great pub fantastic location friendly staff and would definitely come back

Stumbled on this wonderful Inn today and how lucky were we to do so. Although today was a bit overcast and windy, the location still looked amazing, it must be beautiful in the summer. Food! Wow, what a fantastic main meal we all had, not a single thing wrong with it, 10 out of 10. However, the pudding on the other hand, I cannot give this a 10 out of 10, as this was the best pudding I've ever had in any Pub, Inn or restaurant, and it therefore goes beyond any ratings I could give, simply outstanding!
Service and Staff: They were all delightful, very friendly and very helpful, with a lovely smile.
Good selection of bitters for those bitter drinkers as well as many other drinks.
Inside: Warm, cosy, spacious, very clean and very pleasing to the eye.
Outside: Looked perfect for those summer evenings out in a pub garden over looking the River Severn.
This Inn is over 40 miles from our home and we will be definitely going again.
Overall: Way beyond outstanding in my opinion.
K. I.
Lovely place, great food, drink and lovely views 😊
J. J.
Amazing views of the country side great food but very small dishes for the price of the menu.
A. B.
Full of charm, relaxing pub-like atmosphere, yet a wonderful restaurant as well. Easily accommodates large groups. Great wait staff. Beautiful setting!
M. S.
Really impressed with this dog-friendly, well-kept, gastropub. If only they had more vegetarian options, and marked them clearly on the menu. For £27 we had three halves of local ale, sausage and mash and a sweet potato and aubergine curry - both were excellent. The staff were friendly, and liked the dog too (welcome anywhere in the pub that had hard floors rather than carpet). It wasn't cheap, but we were grateful to feel welcome and well looked after on a wet summer's day. They even had a few books on the staircase for us to thumb through (though sadly the Telegraph, Mail and Mirror didn't do it for us). We'll be back, no doubt!
K. B.
Beautiful setting and lovely atmosphere. Food is excellent and very friendly staff
S. H.
Beautifully presented pub. Great food. Staff excellent. Swill be back 😁

We love the Woodbridge. Nice garden right on the river. The food is excellent especially the calamari. The staff are very friendly. The only downside is the gnats in the summer and the toilets are upstairs.
C. W.
Visited at tea time on Sunday 09 July 2017. It was a warm day and very busy. We sat inside although lots of people were sitting outside. The staff were very busy . They took the food order but when they brought it my order was wrong so I had to wait whilst my order was correctly prepared. My partner's food was overcooked and burnt. My son liked his food but disappointed in the overall experience.
Toilets are up a flight of stairs and then down four more steps.

Love the surroundings of this place.... set on the bank of the river Severn and surrounded by woodland, makes this place so perfect for that peaceful meal. Cant fault the food or staff...everything was lovely

we visited last night without booking a table. staff made us feel extremely welcome and we sat down to eat an absolutely fantastic meal that was well presented, hot and came to the table quickly. staff were extremely polite and helpful and made our evening a very enjoyable one. we will be back, but next time we will be bringing friends. thank you woodbridge!
M.
Been several times to this excellent establishment and is now one of our fave places to go for a meal out. Food has always been out-standing and staff nothing but pleasant and polite. The venue is lovely as well and we would recommend this Inn to anyone.
P. S.
This pub and restaurant overlooks the serine Severn River. Its located next to a very old bridge, please don't attempt to drive there with a caravan or high bodied vehicle because you wont be able to cross the river.
Excellent views with a large car park, high quality cuisine in a pleasant atmosphere.

The Woodbridge an excellent experience.

This is a great pub chain. Friendly, helpful staff that make you feel at home. Good beer.
Is it my imagination or are the portions smaller after lock down?
