Reviews of The Kings Head
A pub, in the middle of nowhere, with a typical British pub menu. Unfortunately the food just wasn’t what we’d hoped. It looked great with lovely presentation but the quality was lacking.
One of us ordered a burger and the only way they would serve it was well done, for prevention of illness 🤔
The pub itself was big, plenty of seating, has a beer garden and a small car park (so be careful on busy evenings)
The service was good, just the food was the drawback!
We highly recommend this lovely & cosy pub with a warm welcome from the lady behind the bar.
We were able to sit in the bar area next to the open fire.
It was quick & easy to book a table online.
My hubby had a starter of homemade rosemary bread (just out of the oven) & roasted tomato & pepper soup. Venison bourguignon & mash & Chocolate brownie & ice cream for dessert.
I had 8oz Sirloin steak, chunky chips, mushrooms, tomato & onion rings & Rhubarb crumple with cherry ice cream.
All in all we had a delicious & tasty meal which was really good value for money.
Best meal I have had in years. Lovely and inventive starters. Absolutely incredible risotto and seafood dishes. Bar knowledge was very impressive too.
Nice little rural pub with great food and good service. We dropped in for lunch, very nice, gastro menu with some interesting specials. Local beers available.
Great staff, opened up just for us after we had cycled 17 miles to visit
Nice find, great food, interesting menu all freshly cooked. Friendly service, thanks for the Espresso Martini 😀
Dogs welcome inside too
Very very special old Pub! Unassuming location and place. Quintessential, bygone boozer, with roaring fires and delicious food!!
Great village pub. Booked Sunday lunch for 4 adults and 3 dogs and great food delivered. Fully recommended.
Fabulous food and service
The King's Head is a cut above the rest.A superb chef, starters, mains and desserts all inventive, beautifully presented, substantial portions, reasonable prices , excellent service, all in a lovely, rural setting.
