This is my most favourite pub in Truro. I often come here for a drink after work but we decided to try the food out for my mums birthday recently, there were 9 of us all together and everyone was so pleased with the food and the service. I had the scallops to start and the hake for main, the scallops were cooked perfectly and the hake main was absolutely delicious. All the staff were welcoming and super friendly. Really nice pub in Truro. Lovely dark green decor, makes it feel very relaxed and cosy. We had The Wig Burger which was good but the main guy behind the bar didn't think they'd been cooked to our medium rare preference, so kindly took 20% off the bill even though we hadn't complained. So appreciated his eye for detail. Gave them a good tip! We'll be back.

Utterly delicious. Ordered fish and chips (catch of the day which was cod), brilliant portion size, fish was fresh and battered to perfection and the chips were great! Dessert, a pistachio blondie (as pictured), was amazing. Drinks and food are all priced really well and are good value for money. Nice atmosphere and a clean and welcoming environment with friendly staff.

Me and my brother popped in to grab a light lunch and was welcomed warmly by the staff. Cannot recommend highly enough as food and cocktails were fab and the homemade brown sauce was an absolute treat!

We had an early supper at the Wig & Pen before going to the theatre at Halls of Cornwall. The dinner was excellent, my wine, a Rose, was really nice. My husband tells me the beer was very well kept, especially the Tribute...he needed to have 3 pints to be sure! Apparently they had only been open for 3 days. The new owners were friendly and professional, and couldn't do enough for us. It's a lovely vibey pub with a great atmosphere. We will return and would definatley recommend it.

Came here as it looked very nice and clean from the outside. Staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for you. Ordered food which took 15-20 minutes to arrive and it was the best 15-20 minute wait ever. Food was absolutely beyond, the flavours and presentation were absolutely amazing. I would highly recommended this pub to everyone!.

Friendly and helpful staff. The hake main was delicious. The anchovy nibble dish was great too and well presented. The pasta in the clam pasta was overdone unfortunately. We returned for a light lunch too on another day. We had parmesan and truffle chips, the anchovy dish again and tempura gherkins which I'd never tried before but were really good and would have again. This pub is well worth a visit for the food and just for a drink. Nicely decorated too.

Lovely little find. Dropped in for a quick pint. Lovely decor, clearly a good food place as it was busy with diners. The toilets were well kept, smelt fresh! Friendly welcome. It'd be a local if I lived in Truro!

Beyond sensational. We were visiting Cornwall staying in St Agnes & decided to come here, had the best Sunday roast I’ve ever had. Great food, lovely service, roaring fire and beautiful interior. We were glad to find this place!

Splendid food for a pub ( renovated and under new management), wonderful cocktails for a pub too. Atmosphere lively, busy but not enough to extend the working hours after 11pm bell, must leave within the next 10-15 minutes. The only downside at the place .

What a lovely place. Food is beautiful, fresh and hot. Service was with a smile and a lovely welcome. The pub, rest room was immaculately cleaned and fresh. Keep to the standards you have and you will go far 🙂

My husband and I had dinner here, my husband had sausage and mash and I had the haddock and it was the best meal we have had out in a long time. Would definitely eat here again the next time we are in Cornwall.

Lovely atmosphere but very over-priced. I ordered a 'large plate', of bass, which turned out to have a miniscule amount of 'decorative' vegetables. I had to order some chips to make it a filling, but less 'pretty' meal. All in all, it was £82 inc a small tip (staff were nice enough) for two mains, one wine, one cocktail, three coffees and a non alcoholic beer. No desserts or starters. To me, that's a rip off compared to other restaurants. I won't be going back.

One of the best two gastro-pubs/restaurants in Truro since it was taken under new ownership and redecorated. Great grub and service. For eating out, this and the Rising Sun are currently head and shoulders above the rest in Truro.

Just a short walk downhill from the Central train station you find this little corner pub with elevated beautiful beer bites (Bloody Mary oysters), small plates, (Seared scallops to lick the plate clean!) and attentive and accommodating staff! We had 6 luggages and drained cell phones… Thank You!

Cosy, relaxed dinner with friends in the recently updated Wig & Pen. What a fabulous pub. We had a cosy table right by the open log fire for dinner. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Cocktails were pretty and tasty. I enjoyed the monkfish Thai green curry which was delicious followed by the lemon meringue pudding. Friends loved the pork belly, oyster and brownie. A fun and relaxed evening - loved the new décor, colours and atmosphere. Will visit again soon thank you.

Great food of good quality. Service was a little disappointing ie Had to ask for condiments as they were not offered, my food was sent to a different table after my sons food arrived, I had to clear my teapot and cup to the bar area myself to make room for food thay finally arrived. If it wasn't for the fab food I would have marked lower. I would try again though next time I am in Truro.

The space is nice, and the outside seating area is in a good spot for people watching. I haven't eaten there so can't comment on the food. The last time I went was a Sunday and was told that they were closing at 18:30, but not until after we had bought our drinks at about 18:00, which meant we had to down them and leave.

Can't recommend this place highly enough. ALL the meals we've had so far, have been absolutely delicious (and we've had a lot)..and we're very fussy! The burgers are just perfect, the steaks are tender and the chilli is heavenly. Even the dips are divine, especially the home made chilli one. The Sunday lunches are always spot on too. I'd go as far to say, not only is this one of the best places to go to in the County, I'd say in the Country!
