Reviews of Juniper Farm - Dining & Carvery
B. H.
I was really impressed by the carvery, great quality food for amazingly good value at less than 8 quid. The service wasn't the best. I ordered a drink at the bar, got told they would bring it to me and then had to go and ask for it at the bar again 15mins later. It wasn't even that busy. I'll give it another go though next time I'm staying nearby, it still beats the Holiday Inn.
K. C.
Despite staff shortages the staff who were there were pleasant, helpful and friendly. The food was excellent, we had the cavery and it could not have been nicer even though we were late in the day.
d. f.
I went to this delightful place with my daughter and her boyfriend, the service was fantastic and the food was hot and delicious, the staff are so very friendly and helpful, the dining area was clean and uncluttered, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who would want a lovely dining experience

Stopped to eat here on journey home to Wales from Scotland, because it had indoor and outdoor play areas for the kids. It is a Greene King pub and it advertised a carvery for £7.90. I wasn’t expecting much but this was delicious; the meat was tender and juicy and the veg cooked to perfection and the gravy was flavoursome too! The service was also excellent! I would definitely recommend this pub!

Great carvery although on today's visit the gravy & mash were too salty. Service at the carvery is good but at peak times there's quite a wait; they'd be as well as to have one person slicing it through & another serving what's been sliced. Drinks service is slow too. But staff are friendly & I swear Jackie lives there; she's such a lovely helpful waitress whos always happy to help.

Family tea for a 3,10,15 &17 year old. Very tasty carvery: good selection of meat and veg available on a Tuesday evening; roast potatoes with dripping were very good; real food to keep tummies happy of a holiday. Veggie was pleased with the beetroot burger. Toddler enjoyed the indoor and outdoor play areas. Not haute cuisine - but we weren't looking for any.

Nothing else to say other than the food is 'Nectar of the gods'! Give our compliments to the chef! 👨🍳 (Greene King) Hubby enjoyed the draught IPA too! 🍻Easy parking, super friendly staff (nothing too much trouble), children's play area and a lovely clean environment. The pub has a wonderful, relaxed atmosphere and is warm and cosy. Christmas decor looks amazing also! You won't be disappointed if you eat here I'm sure. As for the people complaining about service, try to realise that pubs do get busy and sometimes staff can get overwhelmed. It seems we have forgotten how to have some patience these days, and are so quick to criticise others without taking a step back to try and understand that when this happens, especially in a good establishment like this, it is not deliberate! This pubs rocks! GO THERE! (I bet you can't do a full slice of cake 🍰 in one sitting though 😹😹😉) Also, love the super friendly resident Viking dude you can just spot behind the bar on the photo there! 🎄☃️ Best wishes for Christmas 2021 to all! ✨💜

5 minute walk
From the Holiday Inn
Across the bridge...
A lovely carvary with lots of variety and reasonabley priced...
The portions are very generous when it comes to the deserts
It's the first time a cheese cake has got the better of me 😂😂🍰🍰
Recommended. 👍
See photos..
Ps.. The staff were very polite and nothing was too much trouble 👍
K. M.
Brilliant service. Quite busy when we arrived, we were told it would be an hour wait for food. It wasn't. And the food was delicious. There was a misunderstanding on my part regarding ice-cream that was dealt with very professionally. Thank you to Dom and his team. And thanks again to the carvery guy for the extra bit of meat.
D. F.
Really enjoyed my first ever visit here. The carvery was brilliant, very tasty and had a wide variety of options for veg and potatoes. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be going back and would recommend to others
N. D.
Had a carvery today and the waitress Sandie was very helpful, polite and very approachable. As I am in a wheelchair I find it hard to find somewhere as accommodating as Juniper Farm with helpful staff like Sandie and the carvery servers with their patience and help when I was struggling. Thank you again, will definitely be back!
T. X.
The food and service were great. The waitress Olivia was lovely friendly and very attentive to the large group of us whom attended for dinner today. 10/10 for the lovely staff working today and the food was lovely and came out quick. Such a lovely evening here.
R. M.
Food was good, although chips were a bit over done, but every thing else was great. Our server was Jackie and she was really helpful and upbeat. Made sure we were good and really made the whole dining experience better.
M. C.
Food and Cakeaway were delightful, especially recommend the carvery for the cheesy mash! However the service was barely service. 35 minute wait for drinks, to be told they had ran out and our puddings took that long to come out, we changed to take out to receive them instantly🤷🏽♀️
Good food, rubbish service.
A. C.
We visited on Sunday 29th may, it’s was absolutely heaving. All the staff were dealing with it fantastically, especially under pressure. Special mention to Clyde who was carving the meats. He is an absolute credit to you. His calm kind manner remained the whole time we were there, even when he was spoken to atrociously by some customers in front of us over the short wait for Yorkshire puddings ! We sent a pint of ice coke over to him as he desperately looked like he need a cold drink bless him. I would be very proud to have him on my team. Well done Clyde. Food was fantastic as always & the whole team were working flat out - we will be back again very soon x
P. J.
A big menu selection on offer. I had the carvery which never disappoints. Spacious dining area and given what a warm evening it was, we dined outside. A great place for families.
T. B.
Great in the week, terrible on the weekend. I've been here during the week and it was quite nice, staff are helpful, food tasty I definitely will come back in the week. The weekend though, that's another story, staff that won't even look at you, overcooked or undercooked food and then there is the wait times, oh the wait times. Almost 2 hours from walking up to the bar and then getting your food. You could literally watch "top gun" in the time it takes to get your food and at least that way you get Tom Cruise and not mediocre food.
D. F.
Dined here recently and a little disappointed. We chose off the menu rather than the carvery and whilst the place was not full, we were told that there would be at least a 20 minute wait. Also, certain meals came with condiments which were not delivered and had to be asked for. Service was unusually slow, but the food was still good.
D. W.
Not bad at all. The food pretty much standard gastro-pub fayre, but it was cheap enough and I didn't have to wait too long.
Would probably go there again.
T. E.
I would just like to say how truly amazing Freya and Chloe were today. 11/10 to them. Absolutely best service I’ve ever had. Both should win employee of the year! Fantastic
D. h. r. m.
The staff were really friendly and helpful. Cracking vegan fish. Good portions. Shame the carvery wasn't on but we did get there late.
C. H.
Had a meal today which took 50 minutes to arrive and was a bit overcooked as if it had been sat under the hot lights for a while.
Jackie was our waitress and was very helpful and friendly. Her service made up for the food being late.
K. S.
Visited on Sunday had a lovely meal. We were served by a lady called Jackie always smiling everytime we visit this time she was serving drinks. Food always delicious would recommend this pub
n. r.
The service is super slow here, we were warned if we didn't want carvery then could take an hour but didn't get a warning on dessert and one dissert took 30 minutes, these are pre made so not sure why, no explanation. I have been 3 times in the last 3 months, the ice machine hasn't worked throughout and the wait has been long everytime. I'd recommend for a carvery but nothing else.
C. R.
Great food, lovely service and a really nice atmosphere. Georgia was brilliant as our waitress. Keep up the good work!
R. 0.
This is such a lovely restaurant, all the staff are amazing, and the food is great! Will definitely be going more often, and I would 100% recommend it to anyone!
A. B.
Great service from the customer assistant Dom. He made it very convenient for us while we were watching our 2 year old in the play area by taking our order at the table and fetching our drinks.
Would highly recommend!
G.
Had an absolutely spectacular meal at what felt like a dine in at an jamie oliver convention, staff were reasonable however one stood out! Maisie went above and beyond to ensure my experience was to perfection
A. H.
We visit juniper quite regularly and the service and food is always on point, Jess and Alex can't do enough to make your experience there a pleasant one, will definitely be returning 😊
J. C.
Went here for lunch, we had the carvery and the food was great and could not fault it. The only disappointment was the glasses were dirty & the jug with the water, we took these back and they still came back dirty.
S. A.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, from the host stand to the carvery host. Good food and nice atmosphere. Steph was especially helpful :)
J. T.
Breakfast Thursday and meal tonight brilliant. Staff great. But tonight it was very cold in conservatory part. Yet 21deg outside
Á. F.
Lovely food and nice staff. Decent value, especially when the person serving the food is not shy on the meat.
I. B.
The waitress Georgia was quick to seat us and ask if we needed any help. Overall service from the staff was friendly and quick.
N. T.
This is a very nice pub that has a separate area for families with children. The service was polite and helpful. Plenty to choose from on the menu, including a traditional carvery. Usual choices of ales and lager from the bar, with wine and soft drink options. Food was good portions and hot and tasty. The puddings and ice cream are massive and great value, with many varieties to choose from. We returned the following day for breakfast at 8am, with a full English, eggs Benedict, pancakes and beans on toast, all with hot coffee and tea. A great place with good service.
B. C.
It was nice however it gets too busy for the kitchen to handle so food takes along time to come we we're told the wait for food could be up to an hour an 45 minutes so we chose carvery instead food was nice but again few things weren't there an alot went quick however staff were nice seating was comfy an overall isnt bad priced
V. D.
It was nice but the carvery most of the vegetables and the roast potatoes and the mashed potatoes you could stick your wall paper on the walls with it
M. P.
Very quick to get food does get busy at peak times but shows how good it is especially the cake outs
H. G.
Visited on Sunday staff was so friendly and welcoming carvery was fantastic I also had the grazers which was lovely
v. f.
I dont know what's happened to this place but the food has gone right down hill the carvery which we should have checked before purchasing and did get a refund on looking was dried up the mash potatoes had been sat there that long had gone brown another time I went my food came to me cold , also why have a heinekin 0% on pump if they cant replace the barrel when its ran out awful place but not always has been used to always go here and enjoyed it but now no I wouldn't step foot in the place , it needs a good look at by the big owners to see it for themselves
C. B.
One of our favourite restaurants! Every visit has been faultless, incredible food and I would highly recommend getting their cakes as a dessert! They're a meal in themselves so we usually take them away as we can't eat them all in one sitting! Looking forward to visiting again tonight for my mums birthday :D
J. W.
Visited last Sunday staff was so welcoming, food was great. Will be back Sunday again will be our new spot on Sundays
L. S.
Chloe-Ann was absolutely adorable and really made me feel at home. The crispy chicken medley I had was also delicious and the italian sauce I had with it was to die for! Awesome experience 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽.
D. P.
Unfortunately for us we sat on the wobbly table in the far corner. The carvery was fine thanks we has to wait for the steak and ale pie but on arrival it
Looked 😋 delicious and thoroughly enjoyed by our young person xx so worth the wait xx thanks x children play area looked busy and youngsters there were having great fun xx
D. E.
Food was poor. Was mostly cold b4 i was halfway through eating it and I'm a quick eater. Veg was not very nice. Meats were nice though. Roast potatoes were terrible
l. b.
Lovely family meal out and Vicky the waitress was great, nothing was too much trouble and was great with our little girl. Friendly atmosphere and will return!!
M. N.
We booked online due to the menu online. When we got there they didn't have our booking 😞 and nor was the meal that i had seen online 😞. Ordered salad with salmon and 30 mins later advised no salmon 😞 so ordered something else which was cheaper. We had to ask for the difference refunding, so it took 45 mins for us to get our food and the book only had about 10 tables being used. The ice machine had broke so no ice for your drinks, but the food was nice 🙂
B. B.
Used to be a thriving carvery, disappointed, gammon n turkey lovely and moist, beef dried up. Only half the choice of veg. Only one flavour gravy. Not many staff.
T. G.
A perfect place to visit for a few drinks and something to eat. Friendly relaxing atmosphere. The waitress Maisie was brilliant, I would strongly recommend a visit.
B. H.
Very good staff, Vicky and Jackie were two that went the extra mile. They refilled the breakfast so it was fresh for us. Would recommend.
R. K.
Clean and tidy, plenty of parking , lots of seating both in and outside. Unfortunately, when I visited, carvery food seemed to have sat a little too long under the heat lamps with the veggies not so good.
g. m.
Lovely friendly staff make you feel so welcome and food so good , even had a member of staff bring my wife a fresh Yorkshire pudding because she was struggling cut the one on her plate excellent customer service will be back
B.
We had an all day breakfast realy tasty and hot we will not need to eat untill tomorrow so much food on the plate good value for money we were served by nice friendly staff
C. J.
Amazing customer service from chloe-Ann from Start to finish. Matt on the bar was fantastic very polite, carvery was so delicious served by matty. Thankyou guys for a lovely evening
D. R.
Today I was seated by chris who was very polite and explained everything we needed to know, we ordered are food and it was out within 15 minutes and tasted lovely, it was served to us by sam and maisie who were also very polite and welcoming. Would definitely recommend juniper Farm.
L. S.
Lovely food and friendly welcoming staff came with family and had a great experience, and the cakes are just WOW.
K. J.
We went for a carvery however after looking at the food on the carvery we decided to eat from the normal menu. The food on the carvery was all dried up and looked like it had been there all day and the parsnips were completely black. However the meals from the menu were lovely.
K. L.
Recently had my first visit to Juniper Farm and was very satisfied with the great food and service, especially from waitress Maisie who was super friendly and really helped to make the visit enjoyable and straightforward, would definitely recommend!
S. C.
Decent food for the price. Friendly staff and clean. Better than the average Green King restaurant
B. M.
Staff pleasant and helpful. But the vegetables served I would have been ashamed send them out of kitchen. Obviously low standards
K. B.
I’ve recently visited juniper farm and had a carvery which was great! I was served by waitress Maisie and she was very lovely and very helpful.
O. R.
Came in for dinner last night Chloe-ann looked after us she was amazing really made us feel and had a laugh, food was great. We will be back.

S. H.
Chloe-ann was very welcoming and pleasant, carvery was lovely. Highly recommend.
M. E.
I have had an evening meal here 3 times this week as I’m working away, the food and service has been spot on every time definitely a good all round eatery, price is right as well, only 2 things I can pick up on the 1st night I wasn’t asked for my track and trace details and the 3rd night I was given a dirty steak knife, but other that that spot on
C. C.
Both food and cleanliness were not too good. Ice cream was delicious.
s. h.
Both myself and my daughter had a lovely meal, service was very good. Thanks to Vicky and Sam. :)
Ø. N.
Coming on a Sunday afternoon with kids and without a reservation can be quite risky. It is a very popular place, so it might take a long time before seating.
But it is worth the wait. Very sympathetic prices and variety of meals. Large portions an legendary large cakes!
J. M.
It was our first time visiting juniper farm and we were pleasantly surprised. I say surprised as we don't usually like pubs in a chain as they are very samey samey. We were a party of 5. We called as it is quite near to our mums. We all had different food to each other and really enjoyed it. But to be honest I think the menu is too extensive even so difficult to choose. Your staff are wonderful, but myself and my sister would like to say that Jack behind the bar went above and beyond, he was so helpful and extremely pleasant. We hope to call again in the future
T. B.
Sam served us and she was a very kind and welcoming member of staff will be returning again.
T. M.
The staff, especially the manageress, are amazing and do their best in difficult times. The venue itself looks tired and dated and a little dark inside. The carvery was not open and they had been hit with supply issues on some items which was a shame. Having said that the food off the main menu was good standard fare, I can highly recommend the cakes.
J. P.
On entry was greeted by a pretty girl on the bar ,who was very friendly and attentive so the service was a 5/5
The food is where it all went down hill for Juniper
Ordered a standard carvery ,there was no beef left ,no green veg ,the parsnips were underdone and too hard ,roasted were burnt and the stuffing was raw.
Once I got back to table ,realised that I needed some salt to season the bland food. Only to find the salt pots were empty on atleast 3 tables.
Half way through eating the 'chefs' did bring out some broccoli but apart from that the carvery was still looking bare and even made Barley Farm look organised.
I never come here for a special meal or to satisfy my taste buds, but a 5 out of 10 wouldn't of been nice, but the food didn't even reach that.
D. H.
We visited as a group of 3 friends. We had the Golden Years menu (3 courses for £8.99). It is good value and the food was good. We each had soup, a small carvery and a dessert. With a soft drink it was about £11. Although the food was tasty, the service was very slow and our dirty dishes were not collected between each course. We had to find our own cutlery from other tables and waited a long time between courses. We would visit again but hope the service improves.
L. W.
Good value but chips are somewhat tasteless
Puddings massive but you can buy and crake home
Really helpful and good staff
D. O.
Great carvery today and good chat with the staff, Chloe and Steff.
A. D.
Warm atmosphere, really helpful and friendly staff, amazing breakfast
S. S.
This place was ok but I won’t be rushing back. The food was ok, I had scampi that was ok but for the price not good value for money . My boyfriend enjoyed the carvery . Kids enjoyed the small little play area. The thing that annoyed me was that they got my food bill wrong , charged me for a meal I didn’t get, then tried to tell me I was wrong. Clearly only two adults and two kids why would we order five meals . Still waiting for the money to go back into my account two weeks later won’t be returning , so many other nicer places to eat.
N. S.
Very good meal with my family. Chloe-Anne was lovely.
F. M.
Me and wife just been for breakfast 8t was excellent we was well looked after by Jackie who took care 9f all our needs well pleased thanks Jackie

K. W.
Amazing staff lovely and helpful, great kid zone so kids can be kids and food to cater for all even the picky kids. Highly recommend for family get to gethers
J. S.
Breakfast was yummy, all hot and tasty. Fresh tea flowing and toast. Recommend most definitely
R. M. (.
It was nice enough but waited ages for the chef to come to the carvery and food at the carvery was a bit dried out
P. H.
As always food super staff first class, will be back
M. I.
Good food, very pleasant staff nice atmosphere.
Not sure not what more you could want really
K. S.
Great place to eat. Clean, spacious. Friendly staff. Great food. Highly recommend.
m. g.
Lovely place just situated off junction 21 M6. You will find friendly staff and tasty meals which are served all day. Ideal location for a break from a M6 motorway trip. Really nice and well worth a visit. Plus it's both disabled and child friendly, with a children's activity area so a handy place to stop for those lil rug rats to stretch their legs.
j. w.
Good place, nice and spacious, went mid week so nice and quiet. Varied menu I will try steak and Ale pie next time. I was being good with hallumi salad.
B. B.
Lots of staff, but problems with coffee and breakfast items, with lots of food overcooked and not looking appetizing
T. S.
Good food, and excellent system in place for following Covid rules. Must warn potions of food are MASSIVE.
d. s.
Good food and friendly helpful staff. Visited for breakfast which was in the buffet style. Everything you would ld expect choice wise for a breakfast and it came with bottomless tea. Child friendly pub but with separate adult only seating
R. S.
Standard carvery experience, hit and miss on how fresh.
Definitely saved by the cake away
M. N.
1st time ive been here since its changed over... really nice food and friendly staff.
J. B.
Brilliant service from Snejana. Nothing was too much. Thank you
Lovely food and desserts
T. W.
Juniper farm. Chloe-Ann was absolutely fantastic. She was friendly and so helpful. She chatted to us and nothing was any bother. Our meal was very warm and plentiful. They accommodated our 1 year old granddaughter and there were no issues. Lovely place and great staff thank you it was well worth the visit.
I. R.
Excellent value for money, plentiful portions, child friendly. 20% off for Blue Light and Armed Forces Staff.
V. “. H.
Food wasn't good but they where rushed off there feet, the staff where great they gave us a full refund I would attend again on a day when they have more staff available for service.
S. T.
Not too busy, no real que for the carvery. Food was good and the waitress who helped us was very kind and helpful.
K. 9.
Food wasn't as good as last time. Staff were great, atmosphere good, chose from main menu, maybe carvery might have been better option. Still worth a visit.
T. W.
We had a lovely first visit here today . A bit of a que for carvery but to be expected on a Sunday. Staff was lovely and smiley and the lady who i am assuming was the manager was going around all the tables making sure we was all ok and had everything we needed which i thought was lovely. We will be back next Sunday.
p. m.
It's a warm welcoming place with helpful staff .Quite busy but still managed to eat within the hour
a. b.
Great food, chilled atmosphere. Nothing is too much trouble. Best farm in the chain. We have a choice of 4 locally. We choose this one and dependant on which way we travel. We pass a sister farm to come here. Chloe-ann deserves 5 stars alone
D. A.
Really great experience. Chloe-Ann was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. When the toy machine broke taking our money she got each child a little toy to make up for it....fantastic customer service. Foods to be expected for the style of pub. Good portions etc. Lovely evening.
L. W.
The carvery is great. Purchase a small or large plate, Chef serves the meats of your choice, then you help yourself to what you want.
J. W.
The night we went for dinner I think they were a little short staffed, they warned us of a 45 minute wait even though the restaurant did not look very busy.. Anyway the food arrived about an hour after we ordered and one of the meals were cold. We told the staff and the lady that dealt with us (sorry didn't catch her name) was very professional and corrected the issue quickly with a fresh meal. They then went on to compensate us for the trouble we had. The food was probubly 3 star worthy but the service we receive was execelant.
N. J.
Had dinner with 2 work colleagues. Steak kebab plus starters. Superb service and food without fault.
M. B.
Superb. The mixed grill was beautiful . It had thst slightly burnt 🔥 real griddle taste about it . Rump steak was tender and juicy. The pepper sauce was peppery and the Diane was superb too . All in all couldn't fault it food and drink wise . We sat outside and it was a lovely evening . Thanks a lot Juniper Farm 🚜 .
R. V.
Great experience, lovely staff, and great food.
I especially enjoyed the slaughtering of the cow infront of my eyes, I knee exactly where my food came from.
P. N.
Clean friendly staff. Lovely enviourment for family like kids ❤ 😊 and lovely food
m. y.
Staying at the Premier Inn M6 J21 chef was off sick so needed to find an alternative for our evening meal. The Juniper Farm was an easy 10 minute walk away so decided to give it a try. Very glad we did. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was well prepared. Huge portions! Restaurant was clean and tidy.
M. S.
Friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely reccomend

Found this restaurant by accident coming from a National Trust property nearbye. Excellent meal and nice staff. Well worth the money.

We had jackee and Vicky serving us today and it was amazing
D. T.
Great Sunday lunch, lots of lovely fresh vegetables, the meat was freshly cooked and juicy. Staff are friendly and very helpful.
K. S.
Nice layout for the pub kind of a homely feel to it. Staff well mannered and explained how to use thier app for ordering drinks and food.
I went for the Lamb Shank & vegetables, the lamb was melt in your mouth food, just a shame the broccoli was rock hard, no peas included in the meal as stated on the menu & very little sauce to go with it.
But got give a nice chunk of fudge cake to take home. Would eat here agaun
D. W.
Very courtious and allowed me to get a brew when really they weren't open, he didn't want me standing outside in the cold, was meeting a colleague from work but had to reroute due to an accident
s. b.
Chris was lovely , smiling and full of personality. Good atmosphere :)
C. B.
Top carvery and very reasonable price. Desserts look fantastic, I just didn't have enough room. Maybe next time.
I. P.
Excellent as always. Staff superb, and food fabulous. Highly recommended
J.
We are stopping in a nearby hotel on our way back from Scotland and booked a table here this evening. The staff were friendly and helpful. We used the app to order, the food arrived in good time and was very tasty. The cost of the food and drinks was quite reasonable. Shall definitely stop off here again in the future.
B. D.
Lovely place first time but will be back Sandie was lovely very welcoming
A. J.
Had a lovely meal here with family a few days ago! Carvery was just as great despite not being able to go up and get it myself, my plate was full. Lucy the manager was really helpful throughout :)
S. P.
Visited today at 5pm ordered by 5.15pm, main meal finished by 6pm. Had ordered dessert waited till 6.30pm asked staff to chase up dessert they didn't come back to us so decided to ask for refund on desserts at 6.45pm. Bit disappointed this visit was quite quiet so not sure what happened tonight
C. B.
Great food and service very friendly good for the family
J. A.
Not too bad if you have children as there's a play area for them. On the downside there doesn't appear to be enough staff during busy periods. We were kept waiting because of this. When we did get the attention of the manager she told she was to busy to take our order though she'd get a member of staff to come to us; this didn't happen. Having waited for ages someone did come over and took our order. The poor lad who did this looked very nervous and wasn't sure what he was doing was right. He explained he was still in training. I cleared our table myself as there was still empty glasses left there from the previous guests. The food, I have to say was wonderful. There was a good selection and it was all freash. Overall it was good value for money, food was very good, nice atmosphere, just very understaffed and slow to take our order. We would however go again.
C. H.
Amazing food, love the carvery here!
L. N. A.
Fantastic service, so good we rebooked for the week after. We'll organised and felt very safe. I had the carvery which as always was great, family had meals from menu which again always fab.
Staff were friendly and attentive I felt happy and safe to bring my family there.
Cake away was spot on
B. B.
Poor service at breakfast, plenty staff but no plan.
C. F.
Lovely place. We have visited 5 times in the past week. Food is good. Wait times are always good. Staff are always friendly. Chloe-Ann and Maisie were excellent today. Very professional.
I. E.
The good points first. The staff were really friendly and attentive. The food came out really fast. Overall a pleasant place to eat. If you sold the coleslaw separately, I’d be over the moon as it was gorgeous!
Bad points. The food was almost cold, but the main problem with the whole visit was the cake away. I had a slice of the red velvet. At around £5, you’re really only paying for the size, because the cake itself was absolutely disgusting. It was burnt on the edges, but raw in the middle and it just tasted stale, especially the icing, which there wasn’t much of compared to the size of the cake. I remember it used to be SO much nicer, so what ever you’ve changed, CHANGE IT BACK!
J. R.
This place is like a roller coaster it's either great or really rubbish and at the minute it's really good but they have to keep it up for my money and keep the food area really clean as long as its good I will keep going back
M. E.
Carvery lunch spot on. Managed well even though there are still a couple of restrictions in place. Can't wait for it to be back to plate your own but still an enjoyable visit.
J. B.
Lovely home cooked food tastes great and we often go to pick up as we are disabled and cannot always get there well done you help us an awful lot more than you know looking forward to our next meal highly recommended please people try for self staff brilliant and helpful food delicous
J. B.
Outstanding food & service, visited on Sunday and had a fantastic meal and the staff were brilliant. Very busy but the covid detiald were met and the staff worked tirelessly to provide fantastic sevice. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area or live local
e. w.
Ordered through their app and it didn't let us down.
Friendly staff and the carvey was very tasty.
Stayed at the Premier Inn 10mins walk or 2mins drive.
L. M.
I visited here almost a week ago now and I found my card in the bottom of my bag. The food was delicious I had a hunters chicken and my friend had a carvery. All of the staff were great, particularly Maisie and Alex who both looked after us and made sure we would both be eating at the same time and also helped us decide on what to get. Both very chatty and lovely members of staff at Juniper Farm
K. F.
Been a few times and it's so nice the staff are lovely as well. The cakes are to die for 🤤
G. R.
Enjoyed the carvery here. It was quite busy and there were queues at the bar and servery, but the food was lovely.
P. B.
Love it, can't fault it. Gets very busy which is a good sign it's good. Could be a 5 star rating if family area wasn't so noisy but all in all cannot fault the place. That's why we come back. And the optional takeaway desserts are still as massive as ever!!
C. D.
Great Food, Tasty and really enjoyable - big thanks to helen and nick! really made our visit an enjoyable one!
See You Soon Guys!!
T. W.
Generally, the carvery tends to be pretty good. Although, I've had mixed feelings about the menu itself. The main issue for me, is the customer service... I've rang up on multiple occasions, just to be ignored. During my meal, with several friends, half of the table were served food, where as the other half were left waiting. But that didn't matter, as the people with food didn't have cutlery anyway. The management them self seem to be the biggest issue, as they communicated with us with the worst attitude possible. If you wish to visit a Greene King/Farmhouse Inn Pub, then I'd highly recommend 'Barley Farm'. The last time I went there I was greated by a really lovely woman, who I assume was the manager. The staff and customer service was much better, although that was the first and only time that I have been, as of yet.
C. H.
Great place to meet with the family, ideal for the children
A. W.
Food service was good food good but had a cheesecake to take away 3 of us had the same cake and all three of us were ill after eating it once we arrived home certainly put me off going again
T. L.
Lovely restaurant and great food.
D. R.
Came on Christmas Day at 12.00 food was amazing, staff was so friendly and helpful made the day so enjoyable, Thank you Juniper Farm. We highly recommend here.
S. P.
11 of us just rocked up & even though they had a party of 30 booked in, we were accommodated very well & quickly.
The food was not delayed & came out in a timely fashion so was very impressed. All the staff were very friendly & helpful too & when you have young children with you, all of the above is so important......
It was on a Friday too so probably one of their busier times, thank you to all of them 👍
M. A.
It's a excellent place to take family and friends for any occasion for food our drinks plus check out the desserts they are super
S. J.
Polite staff and wonderful service, 100% recommend juniper farm
M. N.
We had breakfast here this morning and our waitress was Jackie.
She was very efficient, polite and served us well.
Food was lovely. Thank you.
C. R.
Best carvery I've been to in a long while
C. C. P. D.
This is our "Go To" restaurant. 9 times out of 10 we go here for family meal out. The service is excellent and the food is of a very high standard. Next weekend it's "Father's Day", guess where we will be going.
J. O.
Went on Saturday at 5 pm , we had booked a table . Started to get extremely busy and the queue to order food was very long and slow moving , when the food arrived after quite a long wait it was ok . The queue to order dessert wasn't that long but my friend was stood in it for about 15 minutes , maybe they need to review their system ! I ordered carrot cake as the ones on display looked amazing. When it came , eventually, it was a huge piece but very dry and not particularly nice , I didn't finish it . Not a great eating experience.
C. S.
Had breakfast there very nice.
M. T.
The carvery was okay-good, allot of work sat on your phone downloading app, registering, logging on the track and trace and ordering which was time consuming Then there's some other Covid things which don't make sense like giving you paper tickets that go in the bin immediately...they touch cutlery to bring it to you on a tray but then can't touch the cutlery to take it off the tray to give it to you. After they plate your food it's then a Covid risk for you to take your own plate to the table, they have to take it. It's all a bit frustrating and nonsense and not all there fault I know.
P. S.
Food is excellent. And the desserts, are really big. But service could be a bit quicker
m. f.
Downloaded the app to order took at least half hour to get 2 meals we were waiting for 5! Babys was last she was hungry then orderd ice cream that we waited for 20 minutes and this is when the place wasn't busy mustve been 15 people in! Lasagne looked like it had been reheated several times and was dry staff was pleasant but wasn't worth the wait
D. “. W.
Great range, tasty food and superb service. Oh, and the best dessert menu anywhere!
M. W. (.
Too few staff . They were run off there feet . Carvery was ok but my burger looked like it was thrown onto the plate and had no coleslaw.
E. J.
Nice food . Outstanding customer services .
D. M.
We had a wonderful start to out meal the sharer starter was amazing and extremely tasty, we ordered meals for our children which both came wrong and missing bits and this caused quite a commotion with 2 young children as you can imagine! But otherwise food tasted great, deserts (ice cream) was also delicious 😋
L. a. R. S.
Good pub grub!!!! I've eaten here several times. Great menu, good value for money, family friendly and the carvery is delicious. 4 meats (3 in the week) and lots of vegetables to choose from. Puddings and ice-cream are yummy too (and very big!!!). They also do takeaway carvery, and takeaway cake/ice-cream.
g. r.
Very happy with the Carvery meal which was value for money. Pleasant surroundings with separate family area. WOULD tend to avoid at the weekend as it can get extremely busy. All in all I enjoyed eating there
R. S.
Had a buffet breakfast and a carvery on two different days. Carvery is weak at best carrying a £4.95 price tag (add £2 more for an extra Yorkshire and 2 pigs in blankets) for a small plate of mostly stodgy ingredients. Glazed ham, beef and turkey of which you can choose 2 micro thin slices. Unable to locate the condiments.
Breakfast is a much better affair for the same price complete with a brew or glass of juice. The place itself is large with a high vaulted ceiling, clean, quiet with very friendly staff albeit a tad too dark. Two large seating areas outside. I'd say give it a try.. Stay clear of the plate upgrades as you can get a sufficient amount on the smalls if you attack the buffet like a polish builder... Use the money you save on the overpriced drinks or opt for cordial at 70p per pint.
P. R.
The staff are friendly, polite and make you feel welcome. I would recommend the carvery but go early because it is often very busy. The breakfast isn't up to the same standard as the carvery and I would recommend a Wetherspoons for a decent breakfast at a good price.
J. M.
Very impressed.
The meaĺ was ordered by the app, by my daughter.
My daughter had the carvery and myself and her boyfriend had a meal, it was all coordinated through the waitress.
We will be going back on tuesday
r. c.
Great food. Service was a bit slow to say there wasn't many people in. Table Service looked miserable, Hoping they was just having a bad day because we would eat there again. The restaurant was extremely clean 👌
C. A.
Lovely fresh food wonderful presentation friendly staff, would have given it 5 but had to wait for half an hour for pudding to come out.
S. J.
Lovely meal again. We booked a table for 3 adults and a child this morning for my grandson's birthday tea and as always, we were served with a smile from every member of staff, with excellent food and clean surroundings. Many thanks once again.
A. D.
Me and my other half came in for carvery the food was lovely, nick the carvery chef was a delightfully pleasant man who helped me pick what I wanted, my server Alex was also incredibly helpful and they both went above and beyond to make our visit great ! Will definitely return in the future !
M.
If your expecting fine dining go pay £60 plus each somewhere else. If your after good well cooked food and friendly staff then this is a top choice. Even the drinks are reasonable. Will be going again.
m. p.
dinner yesterday for three adults and one child ..food was nice but cutlery on the table was dirty had dried on food on several pieces .took them to counter and asked for clean ones .ordered a coffee for one adult it was at best luke warm when it was delivered to the table .staff were nice and helpful but the coffee and the knives and forks sort of spoiled the occasion would i use this place again ..not sure
k. d.
Went to juniper farm on a Wednesday 6 pm ish was reasonably busy but as it's a very large building wasnt crowded. Usually pub-type layout find a table go to bar order and pay for food we opted for the regular carvery (£6.99) (small is £4.99) so you get a ticket that you take to the carvery counter good selection of meats and vegetables plus 3 types of gravy. Usual bar drinks beer spirits wine etc. Food was good hot and tasty. I believe they have a children's area but didn't see it as we were just there for food. Plenty of staff on if you need anything will be going back soon.
T. K.
Impressed with the food and service. Staff were helpful and polite and took all necessary steps to keep customers safe. Able to order food with app. Large portions of food which suited me. Will definitely go back.
J. C.
Visited here a couple of times and had a mixed experience. Food was burnt the first time and had to ask for it to be cooked again, second time food came out and was lovely. The desserts are fantastic, highly recommend the trifle. Prices are reasonable, would recommend to families or people looking for somewhere casual to eat. Also can recommend the sharing platter.
L. B.
We rang a day before and booked a table for 10. However on arrival we were told that we weren't booked in atall. Quick thinking on Sarah's part and a table was quickly found to seat all of us with little to no fuss. The carvery was lovely as always and the chefs behind the carvery are always so charming and informative. (With me being a vegetarian) wonderful service and lovely staff. Highly reccomend!
A. K. A.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Decent food, not mind blowing but good honest pub grub. Sunday carvery has a great selection of meat and veg. Order at bar and get your own carvery, all other food is served to the table.
D. P.
Took our grand kids again with another of my daughters. Every time we come we all have a great time. Have had meals in all areas now. I always recommend you to families and couples. My only complaint is the turkey was a little dry (understandable when under a heat lamp) but your guy that slices the meat is adorable! Will have carvery all the time because he's soo pleasant. Thank you again for a lovely evening
T. K.
Visited many times, usually on Sundays after a day out. Even at busy times the service is quite quick, staff polite and attentive and the food is really nice too for very good prices. Carvery is great my partner enjoyed all the meat options and me being a veggie still got stuffed with non-meaty options (no i wasn't just eating lettuce😂). Would definitely recommend whether it's a family meal or just the two of you. AND DON'T FORGET CAKEAWAY!
C. H.
We go to Juniper farm regularly it is our local always enjoyed the experience, today was the exception, they were not busy but the service was horrendous, had to wait nearly 1 hour for our starter then another 45mins for main then another long wait for dessert. We were 4 people 2 elderly & all together 3 hours we were there, however the food was nice
J. S.
Food was great and arrived quite fast despite it being somewhat busy.
l. h.
Impressed with one particular staff member seems in charge , not stopped making sure everything running smoothly since we got here , nice carved breakfast
M. W.
Went here tonight(Monday) with a last minute booking for 15 people. They were more than happy to accommodate us. Service was great and food came quickly for all of us, one meal was missed due to a mix up which might have been our fault but was quickly sorted and arrived soon after. Thank you
B. P.
Absolute value for money. Plenty to chose from on the Carvery and all cooked to perfection. Huge proportions on other items off the regular menu - very good value for money. Staff also very efficient, pleasant and obliging. Would recommend Juniper Farm
H. T.
Great roast dinner and the cake away was so yummy
s. s.
Very clean, very good covid measures, attentive and friendly staff, food and drink very very good too!! I firmly recommend this place.
H. H.
You get what you expect, The food is average quality and you get decent portions at cheap prices. Good place to go to if you have kids or aren't too concerned about eating anything fancy. I've been several times and each time despite the place being very busy the service was quick and friendly.
A. R.
Buffet breakfast is great, the staff (lucy, jackie and Elaine) are very attentive & patient, which is very much appreciated. Extra covid precautions taken and track n trace. Thanks ladies. Whats not to like for the price.
S. M.
I visit Juniper Farm with my husband at least once every 2 weeks and I’m never left disappointed. I always get chatting to the staff especially Alex who always looks after us every visit. The food is always a hit with me and my other half and the service is fabulous as always
E. D.
Just missed the breakfast but there was an all day breakfast option on the menu. Breakfast was just 'ok' nothing special although the toast was alot to be desired. Was burnt on one side and pale on the other, was cold so that the 2 slices of ice cold butter placed on top couldn't melt let alone spread. Serving staff were nice enough but the lady I assume was the manager seemed like she had better places to be
B. B.
I came here with quite low expectations given some of the previous reviews I had read. I'm pleased to say that I was completely wrong. The food was good. The service decent. Prices were inexpensive as well. Proof that you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover.
Z. P.
Lovely meal with chilli and lime chicken skewers starter, chicken and ribs main and a lush piece of malteser cheesecake to take away (one piece is enough to share between 3 lol) Fab
k. l.
Staff are lovely food was gorgeous very nice inside and out prices are good
J. W.
First time out since lockdown with my 2 year old. Was seated close to the childrens area which was great and staff vert accommodating . Chloe-ann ensured we had everything we need and nothing was too much trouble. Be back again soon
M. W.
Service was good, food fine.
B. S.
Is what it is, very reasonable, you won't leave hungry, great for kids, elderly, family and travelling contractors, builders the like, you could take a date too, great all rounder, staff are nice, yeah it's got a turn around of staff, more front counter staff required to minimise que, Chefs work hard, over indulgent fantastic looking ice cream and giant cake desert counter, better than premier Inn and Holiday Inn opposite value for money and environment wise. Will keep returning for both varied menu and stomach stretching carvery all day long, great for larger appetites
R. M. (.
Carvery lovely, and reasonably priced! Can get extremely busy so a good idea to book in advance!
C. L.
Not impressed as our food was just warm but the staff were very good
M. N. (.
The best carvery around by far but please, please, please put more staff on the tills!!!! The time you queue in here is absolutely ridicoulous. Most of the time we fancy a coffee or a cake but we literally can't face queuing again because it takes that long to be served. There are too many staff wandering around looking important whilst there is a huge queue even though the place is nearly empty. Also the new blonde male member of staff on the bar has the absolute worst attitude. The way he spoke to a customer the other day was appalling.
R. G.
Nice and quiet with air conditioning just what was needed on a hot day , fantastic offer for those eating with their children , very fast service and very tasty food . Thanks very much .
V. D.
Wanted to leave a written review but no one would find me a pen. Carvery lovely as usual however they need to cook the stuffing not just boil water it. Ruined a good meal.
D. M.
Met up here with colleagues, carvery wasn't as hot as I would like but still very nice, got a cake away but was very disappointed as it was stale 😔
B. L.
Lovely big family pub, today I had a big Sunday roast and an Eton Mess, totally stuffed at the end! 😋😋😋
S. U.
Only dropped in for a drink and to check the rules in place to visit soon.
Sat outside in sunshine, staff were very pleasant and service was very good also.
Live local so know it well really.
M. P.
Superb food.waiter Jack was really good. They had a kids entertainer called crazy Chris. He was a top top person!great with the kids.would hire him any day for the kids party's. Wait until you see the cakes they have as desserts. Wow is an understatement.
M. W.
We wnt for our lunch carvery prefect hot taste .staff so professional. Hygiene well done. Felt safe with step in place.thank for a wonderful meal xm👼🤗
H. M.
Came in Wednesday the host Ms lomas was great letting kids pick table near play area the carvery and cakes were to die for we have missed it so much great all round experience 😀
G. F.
For a quick easy weekend lunch, mid afternoon tea or Sunday lunch this is perfect, had a few times the roast potatoes didn't pass grandma's test but generally a consistent good quality, quick service and affordable prices. The cake away options are awesome! Don't go home without one
S. B.
Good service, food average not particularly hot on arrival but acceptable. Standard for this type of chain restaurant/pub.
M. F.
Good traditional pub food with the added bonus of a carvery! Child friendly area available for kids under 12. Friendly, helpful staff...pretty much the same style, setting and features as Barley Farm in Eccles. Enjoyed my visit :)
N. B.
Great place for families
Spacious tidy and warm in February
Had two Costa latte coffees absolutely delicious.... Also had a sweet ..a cheese cake with choc sauce. With ice cream .....top notch..
Car parking is a joy
Great experience ...staff friendly...has a disabled toilet for old folk.
Been refurbished recently..new carpets chairs and tables
They do two meals for ten pounds
I think the other reviews expected James martin fair!
Can be reccomended.and I intend to visit again.
R. H.
Juniper farm Warrington beautiful carvery again lovely members of staff it's well worth a meal there
R. S.
Had a very poor carvery there all veg mushy and soggy potatoes grilled and burnt patches not roasted and crispy all food was cold
J. C.
Had a fantastic meal out with the family.
The cavalry was really good value, so much choice. The meat was extremely tasty, not over done and all the staff were friendly and helpful.
M. R.
Went on a Wednesday evening. 15th August. Only meat on carvery was beef. Ok standard but not that impressed that would rush back or recommand or have anything negative to say.
Positives;
Plenty of parking
Good location
Big so good for family meals.
Good pub menu
K. B.
Very pleasant, food and service excellent, will come again.
A. J.
Was clean and tidy. Beer was so lively it took ages to pour but seemed to have been kept well.
My greatest concern was how fast the food came out. I'd just been to the bar to order and within literally 3-4mins, it was in front of me. Everything was ok, nothing great.
C.
Cheap and cheerful ... food wise
G. L.
We had gone to Juniper farm for my mum and dad's 50th wedding meal, 10 of us. lovely Christmas table, quality crackers, party poppers and nice decorations. The food was lovely, well cooked and the staff were friendly and attentive.
P. B.
It a chain group Carvery pub you know what your going to get. For value and ambience
D. C.
Served by Conner today he was lovely polite and helped with our order and desserts. Food was lovely. Very organized and felt safe following covid recommendations x
C. S.
Had the veggie (nut roast) carvery. It's help yourself, so I got a massive pile of food. Most of the veg was a little overcooked. But such good value. Cake is quantity over quality. Would like to see more ale available.
J. A.
The carvery here reigns superior. The meat is always succulent and the vegetables always tender. I don't know anywhere that offers better value for money. I would give it 5 stars but sometimes the service time can be fairly frustrating, especially on your lunch hour.
M. E.
Popped in for a spot of breakfast very tasty. Fill your plate up and have as much tea and toast as you like. Feeling stuffed 😁
K. P.
Bit hit and miss with this place. I have been with a member of my family and the meal was very late at coming out. We did complain and were offered an apology and free dessert. Sometimes kept waiting a while to be served at the bar to order food.
J. C.
Visited on a Sunday lunchtime and it was busy with punters and party people. To drink I had a half pint of Greene King IPA ale at £1.60 which was decent.
To eat after looking at the extensive menus they even have a gluten free selection.
I chose the carvery meal which I inspected before making my mind up. The small plate is £4.29 and the large plate is £9.99. Being really hungry I chose the large plate, there was no queue.
The chef on duty took my ticket (issued by the waitress at our table who took our orders) and said he had no large plates so he went off to get some.
There were four huge roast joints to choose from pork ham turkey and beef and I enquired of the chef what I could have he replied a slice off each if I wanted so I said yes please.
There was also a huge selection of help yourself vegetables all hot roasties mash etc and nice beef gravy and condiments like mustard apple sauce horseradish etc.
With my plate loaded I made my way back to my table through the busy pub restaurant the meal was delicious and I can reccomend it although next time maybe a smaller plate would be enough.
The former name of the establishment was called The Mascrat Manor when I last visited it, maybe give it a try its right on the M6 junction at Warrington before Thelwall viaduct at Woolston.
A. H.
Was staying at the holiday inn 5 minutes away for a week with work. This pub was a godsend great staff, great carvery with a huge range (mushy peas!!!) and the menu has traditional pub classics and there own take on burgers etc.
B.
Average carvery, comparable with many others. Roasted vegetables were almost cremated but otherwise a good selection. The puds looked large and fabulous but unfortunately I had no room.
d. c.
Potential to.be great but suffers all.the same problems as other large chain restaurants. It's an order at the bar place and although it is classed as family dining kids can only sit in a specific part, hence the waitimg times for a table can be horrendous. There is a carvery option and a la carte but the carvery quality varies massively from day to day. They have a good dessert selection with a cakeaway section ans ice cream bar but again too often they dont have any of the cakes left we have wanted. It's a last resort for us when considering family dining when ideally it should be near the top of our list
A. C.
Sorry only three stars today food was a bit dried up under the lights and Yorkshire pud couldn't even cut it. Young lady did bring me another but I had almost finished eating when it came. Have been there when it was a lot better.
w. j.
Staff was rude didn't let a 17 year old have a pint while having a sitting down meal and one of the waiters asked if we wanted our main before we even finished our stsrter!! Would not recommend absolutely disgusting, would not come again!! Food was nice though.
l. s.
Jackie was friendly and helpful as usual with a smile. Hit and miss with the carvery if the veg is hot.
P. W.
Busy day they seem to put more meat in the bin then on the plate. The food was good
D. C.
Warm and welcoming ethos. Food quality and services are very good.
P. B.
Omg the cake....the cake is AMAZING. Also the carvery is very nice :)
P. b.
Stopped off for a quick bite. Quick service, tasty food and friendly staff. I think I've found my new local.
B. G.
.was our first vist... food was amazing staff friendly and helpful and went above and beyond helping with our needs and food allergies will def be back
N. H.
Great atmosphere relaxing ,only problem the vegetables where a bit over done. I had the ultimate carvery.
G. P.
Great food, lovely place, well worth a visit.
R. H.
Came across it by accident but it was very nice, only reason for a 4 instead of 5 star was I've been allowed more meat on the £4 carveries. This was on the right side. But overall very nice. If you like cake then you'll be blown away here.
S. E.
Good food had a little trouble with the app when we tried to order a shot of blackcurrant for a drink the staff had to help we enjoyed the venue nice place.
T. T.
Absolutely amazing the food was fantastic, the service was quick and friendly cant wait for my next visit to Juniper Farm.
M. S.
One of my favourite places until recently. No roast potatoes available (its not a dinner without roasties!) And ordered deserts which didnt arrive, asked how long they'd be, told a couple of minutes, 10 minutes later when complained again told order hadnt reached the kitchen. Ruined the night waiting and not even offered a coffee as compensation. Hubby refuses to now go back 😩
C. M.
Had a quick carvery lunch whilst car was in for service at mercedes garage next door. Was impressed with the choice of vegetables and all our food was really tasty. We will definately return. Thanks to Nick for our meal.
B. M.
Visited today the carvery was very nice .probably the best I have ever had in simlar restaurants.Katie looked
after us and was very pleasent..will defiantly be visiting again.
There was no wait .the restaurant was quite.Saturday afternoon well worth a visit.to beat the crowds :-)
C. Y.
The meal was fantastic, staff were very helpful and friendly and nice to see the young lad wiping tables and chairs constantly during our visit. See you again very soon

Good food and great customer service. The assistant manager Zoe couldn't do enough for us on the day to ensure we had a good dining experience. Our little one definatley took a shine to her !

An all round great value pub, which offers complete safety, excellent value and service.
Nothing is too much trouble for the staff.

Went tonight, I made a mistake when ordering, and waitress and manager couldnt do enough to help. Took back our means and made them fresh how we should have ordered them. Asked whether they wanted me to pay (it was my mistake afterall) and they said wouldnt accept it. The meal was lovely. Thankyou!

Decent food, unfortunately they had run out of a lot of things. Carvery was good, pies were excellent but the veg and mash wasn't very warm

Good value place to enjoy breakfast or a carvery. Dead easy to get to, right off the M6 and plenty of car parking on the site. A nice outside eating area for when the weather is good, and an adults only area too.

Lovely carvery/fish and chips/gammon.......mash potatoes a little too peppery for me but edible. Service very efficient and staff friendly. Will definitely be coming again with family.......very soon 😉
