Reviews of The Red Lion Moore
J. L.
What a fantastic pub the Red Lion Moore is!
We visited booking a table of 15 for a family get together. We were given a private room with first class service and food.
The staff couldn't have been more professional and considerate towards the 6 children some crawling around under there feet. This added to the great home from home feeling this pub offers.
With a menu that caters for all dietary requirements it is a great place to meet up.
If you local or passing through i would highly recommend a visit!
Thank you all Red Lion Staff we will be back!
I. F.
Limited choice but fish&chips excellent with large pieces of fish. Prices less than in other pubs. Staff shortages, unfortunately, led to slow service but we weren't there for fast food. The two staff on duty were very accommodating and helpful. Would definitely return.

Just popped in for a bit of refreshment and was pleasantly surprised, great outdoor eating area and also a beer garden. Extensive menu and good selection of beers. Wheelchair accessible and dog friendly, quiet when I was there but can be busy

We went for mother's Day, booked for a meal and after 20 mins we had to order drinks at the bar because no-one took our drinks order. Another 40 mins later our food order was taken. Then we were told there would be a 40 wait for food. It was 2 hrs and we had to ask about our food. It is on the way. To be fare they offered us a free round of drinks. Thank you.
The mother's of the party where a bit upset and where looking forward to a nice meal on their special day of appreciation. They are now disappointed.
We eventually ate our meal.
Everyone said it was nice to finally eat but it could of been better and were a little disappointed to say the least.
Would we book again, well not for a good while at least. Not to dismiss the red lion off completely. But we would have to think about it.
I appreciate that things do go wrong but mother's Day is know about in advance and can be planned for.☹️ The staff tried there best.

Visited today with 2 friends after our walk.
Fish and chips were lovely. Portions a bit too large. Smaller portion would be better at lower price.

We were served by the delightful Ethan and Mya. We ordered Seabass and Vegetarian curry. The Seabass was crispy and tasty. Chickpea and sweet potato curry was the best I've had!
Ethan and Mya were a delight to be around. Very attentive, polite and left us wanting nothing.
Food was presented to a high standard. The team here were very busy and worked extremely well under the pressure for a small village pub.
A lovely walk, and many around! Recommended the Sunday lunch for our next visit and it won't be long until we come again! Thank you for a gorgeous meal

This is a great pub. Had our first meal on the 2nd August and was introduced to Abbos pure beef chilli. Had to go back on the 4th August for the full version. Food and Staff are excellent with really great chefs tks

The guy on the bar lunchtime today was brilliant. We were 3 hungry bike riders who missed lunch as we got there 14.30 but he managed to russle up.some chips from the kitchen even though it was officially closed. What a star . Didn't get his name but I'm sure he will realise who he is from this description.

Food was lovely. Staff very friendly. We waited a while but well worth it. Give it a chance

First day of opening for the new owners and it was very busy. Great BBQ area outside, serving a varied menu. Food was very nice and staff helpful and pleasant.
Considering it was their first night teething troubles were few.
Will definitely go again.
H. E.
My husband and I had an amazing steak. Nice and relaxing place. Service was top notch. Will definitely come back. We thoroughly enjoyed it there
E. D.
Good food. Arrived early afternoon, just before kitchen closed (14:15) - kitchen closes 2.30. Menu had a good variety of meals.
R. W.
Great pub with lovely outside area including heat lamp areas! Really enjoyed our food.
M. B.
Good food (piri piri chicken wings HOT) good service. A surprisingly large pub with several rooms that keep the illusion of intimacy. We'll worth a visit
D. H.
Six of us have been the red lion this afternoon and the food was georgous, all clean plates apart from me mum who doesn’t eat much now she 81, waiting on staff were all brilliant as well, would definitely recommend you won’t be dissapointed. Well done everyone.sorry we didn’t take any photos x
A. S.
Foods fantastic and we happened to be there when someone was having a christening and animals had been invited to the party

This is a really nice village pub recently re-decorated. The reasonably priced food is good quality. Varied selection of sandwiches (with a tasty salad)and main courses for lunch plus specials board. Real ales including Wainwright are well presented. Friendly staff. Recommended.
H. O.
Went for a family meal which was absolutely gorgeous the food was fresh and tasted amazing, he service was brilliant, very friendly and welcoming. It was very clean and following guide lines to the letter which made us feel very comfortable. The grounds/scenery are just so beautiful it has such a relaxing chilled atmosphere 😌. I will definitely be going back.
J. H.
Amazing food and drinks, staff are very attentive and the pub is lovely. Highly recommended!

Decided to have a change of scenery with my partner and son. And nipped into the lion for a bite to eat. Unfortunately due to covid. It was bookings only. Which we didnt do. So decided to stay for a drink. whilst we were here. Within 10 minutes of chatting with... i must say very friendly locals. One certain lady put us in the direction of i presume was the manageress. And explained the reason we were here. This post may seem long winded. But i must state that myself and partner were overwhelmed with the hospitality that was presented towards us. Within a few minutes we were seated at a table as their was a cancellation. And given the menu. Once we ordered what we wanted. The food then arrived. in good time i must add. The food was well presented and tasted absolutely delicious. I do like my steaks. And this was cooked to perfection. To be honest. The whole experience from the management bar staff. Table staff. manageress. Chef. And the locals was truly remarkable. We shall revisit.
H. D.
Lovely meal nice surroundings and reasonably priced.

I came in over the weekend we had been staying on a canal boat and stumbled across this lovely village pub, as we arrived we where greeted the manager and seated in the courtyard the kids loved it out there, they have a really good set up with a big bbq area. The staff where extremely helpful and friendly, we ordered food from the bbq menu I got grilled piri piri chicken which was very succulent and my husband got a steak that was cooked to perfection an a good selection for the kids meals. I will be back again so much better than the pub down the road

We were in the Red Lion today for a funeral. Beautiful pub, very friendly, helpful and professional staff. The food was brought out, sandwiches etc, but I couldn't eat it as I'm Gluten Free. The lovely staff had some Gluten Free Sandwiches made and salad which were absolutely delicious. I couldn't thank them enough for going to all that trouble to accommodate me. We definitely recommend this pub. Thank you once again.
A. W.
Cracking pub, lovely food, friendly staff deffo reccomend it, taken for food for Mothers Day, fab venue.
C. C.
Love the Red Lion, my regular stop off on canal walks, friendly staff, nice beer garden, lovely views
M. O.
The restaurant was very clean He staff were very helpful and friendly
A. R.
Beautiful tasty food and great staff but I'm keeping this to my self so not shouting out to loud.
d. g.
The service was definitely superb, food very tasty.
C. E.
I have been here twice now for meals with friends/family and found the staff to be lovely. I am a Coeliac and often struggle to eat out but both times a member of staff went through the menu with me to let me know what they could offer. The chef even double checked I was okay with rice flour. The second time they did not have any desserts available for me so I was offered a coffee on the house. Would highly recommend this pub and will be visiting again in the future.
A. R.
Lovely pub, staff and locals are very friendly. They welcome dogs
M. T.
First trip back following the refit, they've really gone all out! Large sheltered patio area, side benched area and the meadow seating area outside. Inside looks fantastic, food and drinks are great. Very friendly staff obviously very proud of where they work. It's a great pitstop for some food and drink whilst walking the canal. Would highly recommend!
J. F.
Good food at good prices. Helpful staff
T. W.
Lovely relaxing atmosphere not too
busy midweek
a. u.
Really good, traditional, friendly pub, nice food, good beer, Highley recommended.
K. S.
Dropped in for a couple of drinks while waiting for a bus. Very good beer, friendly staff and dog friendly
C. O.
It was a beautiful quiet afternoon. There is a small separated field with picnic benches and plenty room for our dog to have a run around. We had a very nice meal which included awesome chips cooked in beef dripping. The pub is set in a beautiful area. I think we'll be back!
G. H.
People nice enough but food still needs some work. Had fish (batteted cod) and chips, fish and batter was greasy, chips very good! Partner had steak burger which was solid and too dry to eat, chips were good! Prices reasonable and beer good.
B. B. W.
Lovely food, lovely beer garden area, bit sad to see the pub itself very grey and lost it's traditional pub feel.
The prawns, roasted veg and potato salad was superb! Yummy! Cheers.

Our party of 5 visited this establishment at lunchtime on Thursday 9th January.
It turned out to be a very pleasant experience.
A nice welcome was received by Yvonne who doubled up as bar host and waitress She performed her duties in a pleasant manner and as first point of contact made a good ambassador.
The menu was placed on two boards[ no table menu's] This did cause some difficulty as one of our party had limited sight and two have mobility problems-it meant that the choices had to be read out by an able member of our party. However this is not a criticism but perhaps food for thought [ excuse the pun] for the management to consider and to get table menu's.
The food was excellent and well cooked. Portions were of a generous nature and well presented.
Prices were very competitive and good value.
I would point out that two of us last visited this establishment over 20 years ago and the other three this was a debut for them so we have no knowledge of the management and this can be regarded as a neutral report. We will certainly be paying a return visit-thank you to all concerned for making this a pleasant experience.
S. S.
We have been a few times since I moved over this way and have never been disappointed. Regardless of how busy they have been the wait has always been acceptable and the food excellent and really good value for money. We last went with my two daughters that are piscatarians and they loved it too.
Not sure if the management have changed since 3 to 4 years ago, but I'm glad I did not read the reviews from that period before we tried it or we could have missed out on some good meals.
J. E.
Popped in to Red Lion Thursday 20 June around 7pm and ut was fairly busy. Staff really attentive we were told a 30 min wait on food, however, it came much sooner. Had the fish and chips and I have to say it was probably one of the best fish and chips I've ever had. 😀
E. I.
Great pub with very friendly staff. Havn't been here for a long while, but absolutely love what they've done with the defurbishment. The outdoor courtyard looks amazing, it's like been abroad. Really enjoyed sitting out in the sunshine in the courtyard. I would definately recommend you go see it. Didn't have any food, but it smelt good.
S. S.
The food is pretty good here but the service is not so great. In a party of people paying their own bills (lunchtime office outing), the food comes out at wildly different times. Apparently the solution is to have one bill. I'm Sorry but I'm not paying for my colleagues' lunches. It never used to be a problem but for the past few months we never get our food at the same time and usually at least one person is finished before everyone has been served. This is particularly poor. If all meals were served at the same time, I would be more inclined to recommend The Red Lion, but as it stands I can't.
J. B.
Layout for social distancing very good.
Gammon served without egg, tikka tasty but not served piping hot. Dessert chosen was profiteroles with hot chocolate sauce. Some were warm and some frozen. This was rejected and removed from bill. Undermined my confidence in the procedures in the kitchen. Bit disappointing.
A. B.
Wonderful food in a really lovely environment. Fantastic service from the front of house staff who worked really hard to make the meal enjoyable. Food took about 30 minutes from ordering, but it was worth it, the chips are massive! 😁
S.
Fab (but not easy) pub quiz on Tuesdays. Lovely beer garden, good food (reasonably priced, substantial portions). Great customer service, lovely place to meet with friends, easy to walk or cycle to, but has a large, well spaced car park.
A. R.
Excellent staff, good food, allows doggos! Well worth a visit.
T. M.
Loving the new outdoor seating! Even when it's not very warm, there are heat lamps above the tables. Staff are very friendly and welcoming so it's definitely 5 🌟 from me.
L. W.
I liked this pub, often call when walking through the area. Nice tradition pub. Friendly people. Nice meals,
Only thing I don't like is smokers. Out side smoking on table next to you. When your your having lunch.
That's not nice.
D. G.
A lovely cosy little pub. A bit off the beaten track but full of character and the perfect place to visit for lunch. Home cooked menu absolutely superb. Used to be our local before we moved to Aus, we love the joint.
M. L.
Lovely meal, nice surroundings, reasonable prices. Would recommend.
K. G.
Had a prawn salad at lunchtime which was lovely only problem is nobody comes round to check if everything is ok with your food which is standard practice and there is no waitress service for drinks. While I was there didn't see anyone over the age of 21 working there and some other people told us that their smoked salmon was hard and not edible and when they complained was not offered anything else in its place. Maybe some in house training wouldn't go a miss as word soon gets round and people will stop going in.
M. C.
The time is 2335hrs.16th June 2018. My wife and I have just returned to our boat after having a wonderful meal at The Red Lion, Moore. The Food was well cooked tasty and hot. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We were a bit apprehensive about going to the pub so we went to see for ourselves. WE ARE GLAD WE DID. Alan & Lynne made us very welcome. So don't believe all your read on the reviews. Try it for yourselves. The pub deserves the 5 Stars I have awarded. Ken & Mary NB. Wineberry.
J. S.
Has a nice outdoor space, and allows dogs in the front part of the pub, the price for a pint is around the £3.70 mark. Didn't have anything to eat so cant comment on the food.
P. T.
Went to see the renovations, the food wasn't on at the time of visit so cannot comment on food, as of yet...but yes like what they've done with the place, very much needed for the community to have its pub back...well done
J. H.
Great food great staff
C. B.
Just had a fine dining meal for pub prices . After a long day on our narrow boat we were looking forward to our evening meal and it did not disappoint ! Delicious mushroom risotto and a moist flavoursome chicken supreme .Attentive bar staff too.
J. A.
Awesome pub, lovely staff. Dog freindly and a 2 minute walk from the Bridgewater canal. I would reccomend this pub to anyone. They serve delicious food and good ale. Reasonably priced and a pleasure to visit. Beer garden for those sunny days and separate ares for meals and and bar.
V. E.
Food good and fresh cooked but limited choice at lunchtime. Just been refurbed. Nice ambience. Sunny courtyard seating area with BBQ. Large childrens grassed play area.
A. C.

E. A.
A typical country pub in a quiet area.
It is a quiet pub with excellent beer and food.
The service is friendly with a smile and there is plenty of seating.
D. M.
Sat outside today with a few lads from work. Only stayed about 20 mins for one drink before heading back to Liverpool. Great views out in the back beer garden.
B. G.
An average eating experience x the room was freezing x there was a fire place but not In use so we had to keep our jackets on x the main meal was just your average Sunday roast dinner x but the deserts were to die for x I had the Bakewell tart with custard x that was top dollar and my guest had sticky toffee ice cream which she said was divine x
R. U.

G. l.
Poor range regarding the casks, ales,in a nice location, but not a very nice clean drink of ale, with nasty unwanted additives, not too good, even though drinks here are crystal glasses, but they
really need to keep the glasses clean, the crystal up that was rather dirty, and low, substandard and the drinking experience here was so low,a experience never to forget, the worst ever anywhere, love eating out me but would never eat among this, really low drinking experiences, how nasty how
low, love drinking dining in relaxed atmospheres, welcoming all the family, would really worry if family members went here do not want to be high here, dirty glasses and ale
W. W.
