Reviews of The Walton Arms
J. A.
Lovely pub. The food is delicious and the staff lovely. A mix of a big restaurant, but also a comfortable bar area too.
N. W.
Great pub and the staff were super friendly. Dog friendly and this place is huge so even if you don't like dogs there is lots of space. Food was lovely and reasonably priced.
K. S.
I have been here many times and always found it nice however, I popped in here on Sunday afternoon with a friend and can honestly say I was so impressed. The staff were amazingly helpful. The doggy station was a brilliant addition for our thirsty pooches. But the Vegan moving mountains burger....was to die for. The best burger I have ever had in my entire life. In summary; fantastic service, amazing food, vegan options which are out of this world
L. M.
Very friendly staff. Lovely place. Food was very good. Our dog was very welcome too. Highly recommend. Only one small criticism....our friend would have preferred a gammon that was not char grilled.
T. B.
Had a truly lovely experience today. New family with a small 8 week old in tow. But made to feel very welcome with a lovely cosy atmosphere.
The food was outstanding. Fresh, delicious and generously portioned. We will be coming back to sample more of it.
The staff were all incredibly friendly and lovely to be around. A huge thank you to Dale, Rhiannon & Rachael.
We look forward to visiting again soon.
A. H.
Attended for Father's Day. Fixed menu. The food was exceptional. Quality ingredients, well cooked, good portion sizes and presentation. Good choice of drinks and reasonable prices. I would like to have seen some more refreshing desserts but minor quibble. Recommended
C. W.
We were greeted by a lovely young lady who took us to our seat and brought us our drinks straight away. The fish & chips were the best I've had in a long time, there was a good selection on the menu too. I'd not been there for a few years but I'll definitely be back there soon.
S. S.
nice staff lovely seating, I asked for somewhere light as we had a 93 year old Aunt with us who doesn't see very well in the dark areas of places. We all had the Sunday lunch, VERY TASTY. sent the cauliflower cheese back as undercooked but that was resolved.
c. b.
Service was good. Food was delicious and as it was my birthday the waitress vane over with a complementary glass of fizz. We moved over to the bar area and had a lovely relaxed evening. Pub was quiet but suited us.
C. D.
The food was awesome as always, but....we did have to ask about the additions to the roast we ordered and even then had to ask again before they finally arrived. The service was top notch and with it being reasonably priced and having to be rolled out the door at the end of the meal, successful day out. 😁
J. L.
Highly recommended little pub. The staff couldn't do enough for you and the food was delicious. We had the triple meat Sunday roast and it was cooked to perfection. We will definitely be returning.
D. S.
What a great experience, we came unbooked and upon entering we were greeted by a lovely helpful guy called Dale, he couldn't of done enough to make our visit more enjoyable. The food was absolutely spot on. Amazing staff and food. Ill be returning 100%
B. L.
What a nice place. Staff were very polite & attentive. We had Fish & Chips it's the best we've had in a very long time. The pudding was also very good. Will definitely be going back.
P. D.
Lovely pizza for dinner with a side of chips. We'll recommended.
M. H.
Nice pub on the canal way, staff friendly and attentive. Worth a stop in if you're passing by.
R. “. T.
Everything was great. The two children thought that their food was wonderful and the activity sheet kept them entertained. Service was efficient and Maxine and Amelia were both very friendly. Highly recommend
D. E.
We were late arriving, had been on the canal all day and got to you late.
We were too late for food, but your staff were very good allowing us to order a dominos and let us eat it with the drinks we purchased from you.
Your staff were very helpful.
C. C.
Really disappointed tonight. 2 of us had the fish cakes and they seemed to have been left under a heat source for too long. The fries were rock hard and the sauce had a skin. 🙁
C. H.
The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming. The staff are friendly and give the best service and the food is delicious. The restaurant is clean, spacious and well spaced for all tables.
E. M.
A lovely building with a cozy feeling thanks to an open log fire. Modern feeling and clean furnishings.
Service is very good at the table with polite staff; but not from the kitchen to table. I found that food arrived lukewarm to cold for both the starter and main. However, food is being prepared correctly. The steak I had was tender, well cooked (medium / well done), and delicious. I wasn’t the only one at the table to say the food was cold though. It just seems that the food sits in the kitchen for a while after being prepared.
Would have been three stars if it wasn't for the pudding, which was a deliciously dense chocolate brownie, served with ice cream and chocolate sauce. Plus, it arrived nice and warm. Redeemed the overall meal. Who ever makes the puddings, seems to put a lot of love into them. The coffees are wonderful too and finished the meal off nicely =)
k. h.
Could not fault the service, the food, presentation and atmosphere. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We will be back again in a couple of weeks.
G. R.
Excellent little pub, friendly staff and great food,
Part of the Vintage Inn franchise, so menu is always guaranteed to be decent, nice choice of beers and spirits, sadly only time for the one beer with our meal,, definitely visit again,
A. N.
Lovely burgers. Big fish. Tasty food.
Big party in so had to wait but was advised and not a major problem.
R. M.
Know this pub from too many funerals. But still a nice place too eat. Have used this pub since 1978, will miss not being in Warrington.
J. P.
Lovely characteristics place with a warm welcoming feeling ! Very friendly staff! Only had drinks but the food looked and smelled lovely !!
C. S.
The staff were lovely , we were only popping in while waiting for creamfields to open , the food was amazing , the drinks was ice cold and great for the hot day ahead.
A. M.
One of the best Vintage Inns in the Cheshire area, the staff are always friendly & helpful.
The meals are high quality & always very well presented not to mention good value for money.
P. O.
Fantastic place for either a quick pint or a nice meal with the family. Excellent staff and great service
D. P.
A great pub. Sometimes I stop here for a pint whilst out on my bike and I've always been treated good by the staff.
More recently we came for tea and I was really impressed by the quality of food. The environment was good and the staff were brilliant. They had run out of Linguine so I had to choose a different meal but this this was a minor issue. (excuse to go back to try my original choice)
The food could have been served quicker but this did not bother us so much...between the nice atmosphere and amazing Gin menu... We were happy to wait !
S. M.
Service was excellent as was the food, made my son's birthday celebrations special. Wanted to review on Trip Advisor but couldn't find you on there
K. S.
The service was brilliant - friendly, helpful, swift and everyone was smiling and polite. We were served by Rach, Diana and Carly who all were absolutely lovely
m.
Amazing food and delightful staff. The food we had was absolutely delicious and the staff were unbelievably helpful and friendly
S. H.
We decided to pop in on the spur of the moment, it was all table service, the food was excellent. I had Brisket on sour dough bread with a side of fries and a small portion of tasty gravy, my wife had home made pizza, we both enjoyed it and agreed that we would recommend the food and also go back with friends.
M. T.
We recently visited with our dog and we were all greated with a smile and a friendly manner.
The staff were very accommodating towards us and our dog.
It was just what we needed after a walk around Walton Gardens and down to canal.
We will 100% be returning.
Thanks to all the staff who looked after us.
R. S.
Lived a few miles from here for over 25 years and never been in.... What a mistake!! Lovely pub... Great food.... Nice staff... Coming back for sure.
J. B.
Excellent food, delicious, beautifully presented, generous portions. Staff very friendly & attentive. Would recommend
R. N.
Great food, well presented and served by friendly staff.
Just knocked a star off for the fact that the gents toilet had paper napkins instead of toilet paper and the hand dryer wasn't working.
N. G.
Need to come back here atleast once a month for the cosy feel and the great roast salmon that they serve. The quality of the food is quite evident with the taste, everything is top notch here
C. G.
Excellent service and friendly staff. Great meal choices and lovely food.
L. L.
Food and service was great, not visited this place for a number of years and I have to say on returning everything couldn't of been any better. I certainly will be coming here more often
D. B.
Warm greeting as we walked in. Given menus and told to order from bar when ready. We both chose The Lamb duo. Which I would highly recommend. Flavour and presentation was great. Followed by carrot cake cheesecake. Staff all very friendly and chatty. Only downside was that the tables hadn't been wiped and you could see where glasses had previously been.
A. H.
Vintage Inn group pub. Massive inside with beer harden. Good choice of food. Well prepared. Reasonable value. Friendly staff.
D. E.
Using 50% off mains voucher. All very pleasant (staff, setting) - only blip was it wasn't clear from the T&C (or pointed out) that extras added to the main were not on 50% discount.
l. N.
Quick and friendly service, good food, reasonable prices.
A very relaxing solo experience, good music too.
J. D.
Really pleasant atmosphere, dog friendly and really nice place. All the members of staff were really friendly and very helpful.
A. M.
Another excellent lunch and we returned because our previous experience there was excellent. The food is terrific value for money and the staff are courteous, efficient and interactive when invited for conversation. Nicky and Cody were considerate and attentive and even remembered how I took my coffee...from our last visit a couple of months ago! They are a pleasure to deal with and we look forward to seeing them again very soon.
T. H.
Lovely food and very good quality and brilliant service
L. N.
The pub and staff are great, very friendly, and is in lovely location. However, the prices are bit steep!
o.
Prawns in the starter were tasteless but the rest of it was nice, the mains were really good and the service was really good
S. P.
Nice decor inside. Service and food great. No baby change or toilet paper in the ladies toilet!
S. L.
Excellent food and excellent service from Holly. Extremely friendly and welcoming member of staff. Will recommend and will definitely visit again. 👍👍👍👍
L. S.
Service was excellent, staff friendly and welcoming and all of the food was delicious
A. S.

B. J.
Lovely pub. Food and service were great, we will definitely go again.
S. B.
Was outstanding lovely staff . Maxine who served us was really nice and nothing was too much trouble . Coming again soon .
T. E.
Good beer, good food and dog friendly
J. R.
Nice pub at the entrance to Walton Park and Gardens. Service was great with a really friendly server. Nice decor and ambience. Slightly disappointed with the food, starter of salt and pepper squid was tiny and the main of ribeye was quite tough. Pork belly main was lovely and a nice kids menu. Also good selection of drinks. Would visit again.
L. C.
Lovely last minute lunch with some family in the Walton Arms. Super cosy atmosphere in an authentic traditional setting. We were served by the lovely Rhiannon who literally could not do enough for us. Amazing service especially with the kids who loved her! No request was too much. A credit to her employer. Thoroughly recommend it!!
G. M.
Ale was a treat, food excellent, staff amazing, clientele friendly
R. M.
Great staff; very friendly, made to feel welcome. Food was fantastic.
S. S.
No napkins, no condiments offered. Seemed a little short staffed. Food good.
D. K.
Popped in for lunch at the weekend. Good service. Would go again!
G. G.
Fantastic food and wonderful service, highly recommended
P. H.
Enjoy. We arrived with our camper, and had a lovely night made very welcome
M. N.
Really nice meal and friendly service. Brought out some water for our dogs (allowed in the bar area only) as soon as we arrived. Ales on tap were limited though, with a lot 'coming soon'. Would definitely go again though.
L. H.
A couple of chairs were filthy, little noisy with children, apart from that it was ok
B. O.
I don't like writing anything negative but here nothing was good. The lamb was tough, some veggies raw some over cooked. But the staff were lovely. It's a shame really. But it was busy so maybe it's just me being negative.
S. S.
Food was superb and I can’t recommend it enough.
R. S.
Booked a table for myself and an almost ten year old. Arrived into their 'One way' system, greeted by very friendly staff who quickly seated us and gave us menus. The young man who took our order was exceptionally informative and recommended the soup. We took his advice and the almost ten year who is not usually a soup eater wolfed it down and pronounced it 'wonderful". Next came a pizza for herself and pork belly for me with apple jus and black pudding mash with greens. We both thoroughly enjoyed our mains and they were kind enough to wrap the remainder of the pizza to take home, as she had to leave room for a pudding!?
After a short break completing the puzzles and reading the interesting stuff on the back of the childrens' menu (which looked great for younger children) we ordered a portion of sticky toffee pud with ice cream; another huge success. What impressed her most however was how lovely the staff were! I agree and we had a fabulous time! Thank you.
K. R.
Just had a lovely meal here. The food is fantastic, excellent quality and excellent service from the Staff. The Staff are all pleasant and friendly. All Covid-19 protocols in place by and with staff wearing masks. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant and the service. Top marks all round.
D. H.
Took my wife to Walton arms today for her birthday. Was really impressed it’s been a while since our last visit. Very well organised staff very polite and took us to our table. Didn’t have to wait long for our meal it taste gorgeous and was nice and hot. Will be going back soon. Thanks to all staff for making it a day to remember x
M. M.
Very nice pub and food staff very polite
J. S.
The Walton Arms hosted our work's Christmas Party and it was the best night out we'd all had in ages.
Thank you! We will come again!
A. N.
Really great food and the service was excellent 👍
S. R.
From beginning to end the whole experience of lunch at the Walton Arms was a pleasure
Staff (Maxine & Elanor) were attentive without being overbearing
Warm welcoming atmosphere with a great meal that could not be faulted.
The dog was even welcomed into the pub and treated like a valued customer
I cannot recommend this establishment more highly for those looking for a relaxed good quality lunch with friends and family
Looking forward to our return.

Great Sunday roast at the Walton Arms this evening. Maxine was lovely and helpful and the food was fantastic. Service was fast and friendly and we really enjoyed our evening!

Nice atmosphere with good food. Dogs allowed which is a huge plus for us

Good choice of menu
Helpful staff.

Third visit to The Walton Arms: I wish I lived within walking distance. The Walton Arms would quickly become my local! They are always on-target with the food (they must have a phenomenal kitchen staff), and the selections have good variety. The specials seem to be based on local / seasonable items, which is all the better. Of the pubs in this area, I'd definitely rate The Walton Arms as #1.
First visit to The Walton Arms last Sunday. Though we were "between meals" coming in around 2 the food seemed to be fresh-cooked to order (that is, not lunch leftovers!) and was spot-on. One of us had lamb, one had chicken pie, and one had beef. Excellent service, excellent food. The vegetables were so good that next time I'd skip mash or chips and get a double-helping. We three decided it was not only the best pub meal we'd had in quite some time - we booked a table for the upcoming holidays. Highly recommend you give The Walton Arms a try.
N. B.
Nice and clean, friendly very busy efficient staff, good choice of menu and very nice well presented wholesome meals and the deserts are excellent, well worth a visit.
L. A.
Greeted by a friendly Irish girl. Only nipped in for a post walk drink, but nice staff and atmosphere.
C. B.
First time out since lockdown, didn't know what to expect. We were made to feel at ease straight away. We were looked after by Maxine and Cody, our meals came out very promptly and was delicious. Thank you 😊
D. B.
Nice food but an hour and 15 minute wait for it.
E. A.
We were here a few weeks ago; wanted to leave a review then but didn't get round to it. So back again tonight because the food there is the best we've had anywhere. Superb food again; lovely and warm comfortable atmosphere, great and attentive staff, top marks and highly recommend
P. H.
Good food, great attentive staff, just looks a bit 'shut' from outside, but excellent when you get in
B. B.
great service, great food and a great ambiance.
R. H.
Delicious food, great service and good
S. P.
Recently had a meal here at a busy time and although the food was eventually good, the initial experience was let down by a fundamental simple rule - always serve the food hot on hot plates. Apparently this establishment does not heat the plates, as commented by a member of staff and this small inaction is very noticeable.
When a waiter/waitress presents you with a hot plate and warns you accordingly, then this is a very good sign that the kitchen takes pride in its food & presentation.
In this instance, the staff were very apologetic but this should not be necessary. Unfortunately this experience has a negative impact and may dissuade us from returning again in the near future.
n. m.
Amazing menu. Amazing staff. Great food. Great service. Clean as a whistle, loads of room and accessible for elderly/disabled
K. B.
Food was excellent but a little expensive
J. S.
Very good service. Helpful staff, and good food.
Especially conciderate with people that have an allergy.
T. N.
Good service and food
Not too busy. Dog friendly
P. W.
Loved it here food was beautiful an staff really nice we will be back xx
H. R.
We were served by Rhiannon today, lovely and friendly service from all, amazing food that was enjoyed by all of us. Overall couldn't reccomend enough.
M. F.
Fantastic service and great food! Looking forward to visiting again! Thanks for your brilliant service Rhiannon 😃
L. B.
A lovely place. Nice and quiet when we arrived and the staff were very pleasant. Only downfall was lack of bitter/ales and unclean toilets
R. C.
Great food and amazing staff whenever I go
Whether I'm visiting after a trip around Walton Gardens or visiting the celebrate this place can do it
The menu has a wide range of choices, even for someone as fussy as me. The staff are great when it comes to dietary needs and are well informed about how their chefs make sure food is prepared in a way that won't cause cross contamination, which is reassuring as a customer.
Great choice of alcoholic drinks with a good bar (not too sure if they do cocktails)
Staff will often challenge which, again, is reassuring that they're keeping up their standards
P. 6.
After having been recommended to this establishment but a friend who said he had one of the roasts there I thought I would pay a visit. Maybe expectations were too high but I came away somewhat underwhelmed. 4 very small roast potatoes and some beef (dried out at the edges) that looked like it had been cooked hours before and reheated. My son's children's roast had more cabbage and carrots on than mine !! Probably would not have minded if it was a value run of the mill carvery but as the cost was in excess of £13 then I felt very much hard done by. Do not think I Will be going back. Real ale selection looked good but as I was driving I stayed on soft drinks.
T.
Visited for Sunday lunch a few weeks ago.
From the second we walked through the door we were made to feel very welcome.
We all had the roast dinners in various guises, roast beef was superb, mixed platter was good. Possible slight criticism was that a bit more veg and potatoes would have been nice and our cauliflower cheese was served partway through our main rather than with it.
It's not your usual ding pub, so it's a little more pricey but we really enjoyed it.
Nice ambiance and staff.
Also very handy for the canal which is where we moored our boat.
We will return later in the year.
M. A. T.
Had a lovely meal in the Walton Arms and the service was exceptional, the surrounding area is perfect for walking after a large meal.
L. P.
The man working on the bar this evening was FANTASTIC. But my chips weren't cooked, my cabbage was cold and my g&t didn't have any fruit in it....which I'm not fussed about, if I'm paying under a fiver! The pie was delicious, and front of house staff were friendly.
t. c.
Nice place, sadly we went there following a funeral. They put on a good buffet for the family. Easy location to find and very close to the crematorium. Service good and the staff were very respectful.
Would recommend it. The place was also very clean and tidy.
A. D.
Lovely little pub! Great place to stop off before or after a walk in the Walton Gardens, which are just 5 minute walk down the road. The menu is good.
Sometimes it takes a while to get noticed by a staff member but eventually they see you and take your order.
Great in the winter too, to grab a bowl of soup and go for a brisk walk!
m. p.
Lovely building and excellent service. Food on the whole okay, belly pork and beef to die for slightly let down by the frozen cauliflower cheese and roast potatoes. When I told the staff my cauliflower was frozen they reacted quickly and efficiently so top marks for that.
S. G.
Great atmosphere lovely food great sunday roast not a carvery.
Table services as it all should be excellent staff from being welcomed at the door and table staff this is a far more superior establishment to a Toby Carvery or Brewers Fayre.
M. E.
Really nice freindly people and very welcoming
J. S.
Great pub to sit outside , weather permitting of course.
M. H.
Great food and service, the desserts keep us coming back. Nice relaxed atmosphere with seating inside and outside depending on the weather.
K. P.
Lovely lunch on new years day gorgeous food warm inviting attentive staff thank you...special shout out to Maxine
s. C.
Nice place and OK price for pint of beer
S. W.
We normally go to the Stretton Fox, but I can honestly say the food and service here were great. we will be definitely becoming back.
G. G.
Excellent service and food and added bonus was that we were able to have our little dog with us
C. G.
Good food good service. Bit pricey but defo quality. Really friendly staff. Defo recommend
B. A.
Not been for ages but we had a child free night and fancied a treat. Very welcoming staff who were constantly attentive without pestering or disturbing our meal. My wife had the set meal with the steak and blue cheese sauce. Well cooked but steal had a good bit of gristle on it. I went for the wagyu burger, a little more pink on the inside than I'm used too but hey got to live on the wild side.
Really nice setting, plenty of seating of all different arrangements from couples like us to decent sized groups.
Would recommend for sure.
L. M.
Party of 11 visited without a booking early on a Monday. Some staff were more helpful than others to rearrange the tables so that we could sit together. The food was tasty but lacked on presentation and the hunters chicken dish had a substitute of bacon instead of the 4oz gammon which was very disappointing when just one charred rashers appeared on the plate. Was told that our comments would be passed on to the kitchen! Sorry, but I don't think we'll rush back.
j. w.
Lunch midweek. Restaurant and bar tables almost full but attentive staff found a table on bar side. The menu seemed the same but for silver service, just order at the bar . We waited for 10-15 minutes for main course of home made chicken and mushroom pie mash and glazed carrots, broccoli and cabbage. Delicious
Pie filled to the crust . toddler ate all of her meal- sausages, chips and peas. Seriously the best chips I've ever tasted. What I assume was homemade apple pie with not just custard, but also ice cream was wonderful. £12 each for 2 courses for adults was good value for top quality fayre. This place has a great atmosphere, nicely decorated and staff relaxed and not pushy ,but very attentive- at just the right times. Excellent all round.
G. W.
Lunch, really pleasant and very dog friendly , definitely go again
S. L.
Lovely warm welcome. Nice menu. Clean environment. Unfortunately one of our meals was not warm enough, this was promptly and politely put right.. this would not put us off visiting again.
J. M.
Had a delightful meal on Saturday it was my birthday so it was a surprise treat. The meals we had were fantastic and Hannah I think it was that greeted us was a gem. Thank you so much will be back again soon.
K. R.
One of my favourite places to eat. The food is amazing, i've never received door service from the staff, and the place has a very warm, welcoming feel. My only gripe is that it is doggy friendly. This may be a plus for some, but I personally don't like eating next to dogs.
J. m.
Food service was very good.
G. E.
Our Christmas day meal was excellent from start to finish. We had Sharon looking after us and I can't praise her enough. Thanks to everyone for making it such a great afternoon.
T. L. o. N. R.
Best gammon I've ever tasted, brilliant staff, overall we really had a good time. Would recommend :)
Try the calamari if you get a chance. It's amazing
S. B.
Busy Easter lunch, food came out fast and meat was good and plentiful, deserts. Big tip it has a car at the back of the pub, that's normally empty when the front looks full. Online booking is a breeze normally use that to guarantee a large table for 6. Good to see nearly full on Easter Sunday. Waitress was Katie looked after us with e children being demanding wasn't a problem. Will return again.
N. D.
First time eaten at Walton Arms. I've heard some good things which appear to be true as the food was excellent and the staff very helpful.
P. “. M.
Lovely food friendly staff
J. M.
Great service and lovely food
Just been back 25th Jan 2022...great food again and Maxine really looked after us. Thanks x
M. H. (. D.
Very good food. Maxine the waitress was brilliant. Very attentive, patient and polite.
R. Y.
This place has become our local go to pub restaurant over the past couple of years, since it became a 'Vintage Inn' it is so warm and friendly with great staff and management. During the current restrictions on us all this pub has put in place the perfect controls which makes you feel safe. We called in yesterday Saturday 12th Dec for our usual-ish afternoon meal which as always was beautiful. AndI must give special mention to our waitress 'MIA' she went out of her way to ensure that everything was perfect including asking the chef for a specially lean and thin gammon steak for my wife who can be picky about fat on meat but it was the best gammon that she has ever eaten in a pub. Mia is a star.🙂🙂🙂
a. H.
Staff really friendly and helpful. Food really tasty and of a very good standard. Haven't been here for a couple of years, very surprised of the quality.
A. P.
Lovely weather today, but even better food and service. Tall lad serving us outside, really polite and hard working. Food was excellent aswell. Happy customer!
C. L.
Nice, old style but modern feel to decor. Staff friendly and accommodating. Attended for fathers day and the 3 course set meal was lovely. Good choice and amount of food was just right.
R.
Fantastic pub with open fires, good pub food and friendly, attentive staff. The pub is also dog friendly with dog bowls and free treats for dogs which I thought was a really nice touch. The only quarm I would have is that the kids menu is isn't that varied.
A. M.
Brilliant service great food and friendly atmosphere.

What a difference, so glad the new management got rid of the "carvery", which for any discerning food lover is not real food, stodgy vegetables that have been left to stew!
The food is fantastic, I now have a local pub where I can have a good beer and great food, with staff that know what good service is about!
M. R.
Fantastic food... Beautiful atmosphere... Staff absolutely wonderful.
L. A.
The portion sizes are really small. My daughter ate hers in a few minutes - that is no exaggeration - we were still hungry after we finished, and for a family of four (2 adults and 2 children) it cost nearly £50. It's not good value for money.
P. A.
Lovely food and great service. Will definitely recommend and be back.
r. g.
Lovely environment, well looked after by great staff, and the fishcakes with poached egg & asparagus was fantastic 😀
G. C.
Alright food not the best but ok
V. S.
Lovely father's Day meal for the husband. Sunday roasts are nice. Chose the turkey which was cooked amazing. Can't wait for next visit!
J. M.
Fantastic vintage-style pub with a lovely atmosphere and brilliant menu. Recommend the steaks and Sunday roasts. Staff are incredibly friendly and polite, cannot fault the place.
S. H.
4th July came for re-opening. Staff are trained to new rules and make you feel safe. Lovely pub and food is amazing. Couldn't recommend this place enough.
G. U.
Great food with large portion sizes and very friendly staff
J. H.
Great welcome even for our little dog, provided fresh water and doggy biscuits for him, made a big fuss of him. Roast dinner was excellent, staff really friendly. Lovely pub.
D. M.
One of the best pubs in Warrington if not the best..... This beautifully preserved ancient building, serves to quality modern & oldish mixed menu.. The staff are very accommodating, always willing to help with all your needs, you can drink & rest in or out doors ☺️
J. l.
Meal was dry no flavour from the gravy will not back
M. F.
My Husband and i had a meal there last week. Food was exqusite and it is Where our Daughter Lottie and her Fiance Paul are having their wedding reception. Lovely warming friendly place. Very polite and helpful staff great atmospher. Very highly recommend it . Regards Mrs Flynn
M. J.
Haven't been here in a while and see that the carvery is gone and replaced by Vintage Inns menu and wine. Excellent food and excellent service. Lovely ambiance in the restaurant ( especially as you get further from the bar). A different league from 6 months ago.
J. C.
We'd not visited for a while. Good menu selection. More choice required on large/small portion options please. Good value for money. Will definitely be returning soon.
J.
We attended a funeral at Walton Crematorium then went to the Walton Arms afterwards...
Lovely surroundings and staff etc.
G. S.
Great rest after a walk around Walton Hall and the gardens there. Good selection of drinks and food. Though I haven't eaten here yet. Caters to dogs with a jar of biscuits for them and water bowls.
S. M.
Been coming here for years, it has had ups and downs through different owners, but it is now much improved. The menu has a good selection the staff are helpful and pleasant, and the atmosphere if the building, although not as homley as it was, is clean and well laid out. Would recommend a visit!
J. C.
Having just visited this pub for the first time , I was absolutely delighted with the staff, food and most importantly the staff are ultra aware of the covid and safety measures..
What an absolute pleasure ...loved it .
Thank you for being so aware .😁
S. B.
Unhelpful waitress, non availability of 2 drinks ordered. We were then given a lovely friendly waitress, guessing grumpy didnt want to be helpful. Manager even more unhelpful by not commenting and walking off after our reply to his question! Shame
R. M.
Not bad , but very dark inside and needs better lighting , food wasnt too bad but we had too send something back to be reheated and that's not a good sign , staff was good to help us so that's ace . Food could be a bit better and more for the cost
A. W.
Excellent food. Sunday lunch is lovely
S. C.
Excellent pub to visit walking distance for me and they are dog friendly
S. M.
Service and food were excellent thoroughly enjoyed our evening.
B. C.
Food was absolutely spot on. Well worth a visit.
v. c.
A little dissapointed with food this time round been afew times and always lovely brought my mum and we both Said it was ok! Had roast dinner not enough vegetables for me.
S. H.
Bit disappointing both visits lately. It's a pub that looks like it could be much better than it is. Quite pricey for pub grub, bar is set up strange due to the restaurant feel of the pub. Nice chilling outside here.
J. R.
Popped in for lunch after a walk at walton gardens. Great staff who were more than happy to alter the order some, for a non brioche bun on the burger. Nice relaxed vibe and lovely food!
R. C.
Gosh. Really wasn't expecting that! Average overall reviews meant that we had pretty low expectations but the service was fantastic from the second we walked in, dinner was really lovely and the pudding was great.... Doom bar too!
D. H.
Great place to eat. Went with a party of over 15 with no problems on the festive menu. Great service, not rushed and comfortable with the kids. The stretton fox could learn alot from here!
K. G.
Excellent place to bring the kids after a day out in Walton Gardens. Kids meals reasonable in price, and menu has plenty of option. Pizzas a big hit with us all
K. A.
We love eating here . Lovely food.
J. a. J.
Lovely location and fun to eat in a pub that is over 200 years old. The staff were so friendly and the food was delicious 😋
W. L.
Did a lovely buffet service for my nan's wake / life celebration. Food was lovely. Service was friendly and the drinks were good and reasonable prices. Thank you for making a pretty hard time bareable.
J. C.
Not much food for £8. A chicken sandwich (2 slices bread) and a bowl of chips. Beer ok
M. W.
Love this little pub. Always nice to have a walk then head to here for a nice drink.
A. D.
Interior is lovely. Plenty of parking! Nice food but a bit overpriced for what it is. Takes advantage of being right next to the crematorium when charging for funeral wakes.
S. R.
Friendly well run pub / restaurant. Good food and reasonable food price. £15 for 2 pints of bitter and large glass of wine. Comfortable environment.
b. c.
Exerlant service + beautiful atmosphere will definitely go again ( went to buffet today after funeral it has wonderful surroundings,, really welcoming, very good amazing , catered for all even mini fish + chips fabulous !
R. P.
Nice place but first drink my change was short a fiver all I got was oh I'm sorry, then buffet came all was well and good but I wish resteraunts would season fish before battering so far I have only got it seasoned in one place and I had to ask first
D. F.
Table not ready but wasn't busy. Served red wine cold from the cellar. Waited long time for food and not a lot of it. Had 3 small roast potatoes. Very expensive food and drink.
J. M.
First time going to the Walton Arms with my husband, daughter and her fiancé, food was brilliant, and the service was excellent, didn't rush you between courses, a steady stream of customers social distancing
Strongly recommended
Jayne mckeegan
L. G.
Great location and the food is spot on! Sunday lunches are the best here and consistent throughout. Love the decor and staff couldn't do more for the customers.
W. G.
A lovely place to eat. Lots of choices and the menu has lots of info for allergies and diets. I'm vegan and they have a complete vegan menu. Always a winner in my book.
D. U.
Pub has a old village pub feel about it with a twist. Rustic decor but with a modern feel. Food is high standard for pub grub, with friendly staff aswell
S. W. M.

Great range of food, wine selection great, this is a good place for big booking as recently booked a table for 10 for a birthday celebration, staff are friendly and polite 3 people had the steak and was cooked to perfection, the kids meals are good in portion size and the pizza's are presented amazingly.

D. T.
Not bad but not great. Service slow at bar and staff who seemed a bit inexperienced. Food ok but some veg was undercooked.
S. T.
Good meal, good service, suggested to split the restaurant from the pub, especially the noise from the DJ/ quies speaker ,outher thean that would well recommend.
J. L.
I've only been in since lockdown, but I've been in a few times. It's cold and you could die of thirst. Aside from that it's still a nice setting.

T. M. (.
